Alternatively, 'Morse' reveals another side of the artist with a more serene attitude. Here, static passes through a magnetic eld with a constant palpitating bass. 'Hollow Victory' opens with thunderous clangs and a urry of ominous chimes that echo through the darkness swirling above a pulsating heartbeat.

Xosar cites the above passage from the Dao as a key point of inspiration for her new album The Possessor Possesses Nothing and it's a more than apt bit of poetic philosophy, given that her album is about one girl's quest to liberate herself from oppressive forces.

The making of the record was for her an "exercise in decisiveness, action and liberation." This is music making in part as self-therapy - with Xosar cleansing herself "from my own fears" and embracing "self-acceptance, self-trust, responsibility for oneself." But the music was also created under a state of "optimistic nihilism" aimed directly at "anti-perfectionism, anti-elitism, anti-censorship and anti-fear based programming." Xosar aiming not only to liberate herself and her creative process from internal restraints but her listeners from external restraints too. It's telling then that she found herself experiencing "the feeling of being a kid again and allowing pure expression to flow."

These are heady and brave ideals - part of a long series of varied investigations Xosar has been putting herself through not only as a musician but simply in life. She draws from research into the ideas of Alchemy, Magick, Kundalini Yoga, Fractals, DNA Structure, the Golden Ratio, Biofeedback, Quasicrystals, Visualizing higher dimensions, The Human Energy Field, Psychedelic Medicine, Stand Up Comedy, Sound Healing and much more. Hardly your everyday Techno producer, then. "The Possessor Possesses Nothing" somehow takes all these ongoing themes and turns them into a whole. Clear your mind, open your ears wide and prepare for a wild trip ahead.'

After an excellent 12inch on Rosten label SSTROM drops his first full length Otider, which is by far the most diverse offering of the project encompassing elements of different genres and putting them in woolen and dense sonic textures. Otider could be loosely translated as un-times or non-times. It positions the tracks out of specific context and rather represents them as some rediscovered artifacts relating to personal experiences of the artist. Otider slightly distances SSTROM from techno label as the compositions elegantly drift between lush transparency and thick grooves of outsider/lo-fi house as in Kronofobi or Svvaren or sensitive, yet subtly monolith and mellow techno on Damm and I Huvudet. In Modernisten we can even trace echoes of coldwave/synth aesthetics with melancholic guitars sweeping over hypnotic rhythmic patterns, while closer Sov Nu introduces something which reminds a darker form of garage music with light synthpads constantly surfacing among raw mechanical beats. All the tracks were created over a relatively long period between 2010 and 2017 by employing the process where he let his hands work automatically without interference from his head. This freedom could be felt across the release, which juggles with different musical forms so lightly and organically, but at the same time maintains a coherent vision, which illustrates the vast scope and diversity of the artist.

Techno Thriller joins the Unknown Precept fam with a brand new mini-album. The first following the release of their eponymous full-length album a couple of months ago. Based in Brussels, although now relocating themselves in Marseille, France, the four-handed formation has steadily been crafting cybernated Gothic music over the past years. Recorded a few months back while drawing its inspiration from dark dungeons and occult folklore, not without evocative titles, Enfant de Sodome feels as muscular and thrilling as their live performances usually imply. Compelling murky synthpunk and industrial machinery colliding in fervor and howls. Free falling tumultuous bass lines lacerated by ominous muffled groans. Bone-bending primitive techno music catapulted over the walls in the most urgent fashion. At the end, it very much feels like trying to dance on some sort of cryptic electronic body music in a heavy chain-mail.

Over the past two decades the storied, L.A.-based producer has made his presence felt both by stealth and frequency. From his earliest work on LA's Cytrax thru his pivotal role on early Tropic
of Cancer releases and as recording and visual artist with Sandwell District, then later as the go-to-guy for fusions of post-punk, industrial, EBM and techno with DJ sets and releases as Silent Servant, Juan Mendez's myriad efforts have inarguably exerted an enormous influence over contemporary techno and dark electronics.
With his sophomore album Silent Servant presents an affirmation of his prowess with properly physical effect, wielding some of the most strapping arps, possessed vox and moody pads in his
catalogue. In contrast with 'Negative Fascination', its influential predecessor, the seven tracks of 'Shadows of Death and Desire' are defined by a toothier drive and bite, moving with shark-like
momentum thru ruggedest club functions while allowing little room for anything like beat-less reflection or downtime.
Locking in with 'Illusion', he pursues singular, writhing permutations of EBM, industrial and post punk moods; taking in slathering highlights with the agitated bruxism of 'Harm In Hand' and the rotor-jawed syncopation of 'Damage', along with the trampling drone-dirge of 'Loss Response', and the needling panic attack dynamic of '24 Hours', before drifting off centre with the glorious, swingeing torque of 'Glass Veil', and a swooning goth finale in 'Optimistic Decay' which sees mendez reunite with longtime collaborator and vocalist Camella Lobo.
Exquisitely rendered in-the-mix by Joshua Eustis, we can practically guarantee that if you fell for the first album, this one will push your buttons hard, too.

"At the crux of American-born, Shanghai-based producer Eli Osheyack's debut album, Sadomodernism, is a question of agency. Borrowed from film theory, the album title was originally coined by writer Moira Weigel to describe a waning European art house tradition that vehemently rejects 'naïve pleasure'—the tranquilizing comfort of conventional cinematic narrative, like mainstream Hollywood—and opts for violence and pain, with the aim of shaking audiences out of cinematic manipulation and into their own position vis-à-vis the malaise of contemporary life. Echoing the work of sadomodernist auteurs, Osheyacks's Sadomodernism is a deeply political project with critical ambitions. The smashing and blending of genres, from techno, industrial, noise and gabber to ballroom and metal, even opera, and spontaneous percussion arrangements, sometimes mixed with distorted spoken word, do not mean to please, but provoke through disorder and chaos. Laden with Brechtian alienation affects, Sadomodernism interrogates the notion of autonomy in contemporary music, club culture, and social-political life."

Recorded earlier this year in his hometown, this 12" marks a new headspace for this London based producer, coinciding with a long and painful visa renewal process that kept him out of the UK for most of this year. YAWS brings forth an EP of six all killer no filler jam outs. Constructed during a period of transience and reflection, YAWS stripped back his usual setup to skeletal form, while placing an emphasis on process, experimentation and put simply, fun. Athens, Greece resident and Vanila records owner ANFS lands on Horo for an EP of jagged, industrial tinged Techno. Breakbeats are hacked and repurposed into brutal shards, with 'Kounoupi's amen march adding a slowed down, vicious take on the infamous roll. 'Salepsa' is a propulsive call to the floor, robust and emphatic, with 'Dervisis' and 'Komena' bookending the EP with rattling menace.

We present The Core of Chaos EP by Rezystor for the first TWB vinyl release. Two banging original tracks by Rezystor for the dancefloor which are the perfect combination to create a dark Atmosphere. Binny (Monnom Black/CLFT) takes over for the first remix and presents a raw, rave-influenced interpretation of Inner Core. The second remix of Inner Core comes from Rendered (Aufnahme+Wiedergabe/Body Theory) who converted the original into a bass heavy, pounding basement version.

Abstract Reality is happy to present you this LP produced by Kondaktor the co-owner of the record label Modal Analysis in Athens, all tracks mastered and artwork made by his brother in arms and talented multi-disciplinary artist ANFS who is running the label with him.
This album consist of a collection of tracks inspired by various African music cultures constituting in the head of the artist a backbone for electronic music over the years.

The Auckland-based, New Zealand club night 'Haven' has been a leading light in the pacific nation's small underground dance music scene in the past year. From their home of the intimate backroom of basement venue Whammy, founders Keepsakes and Jaded Nineties Raver have introduced the local night fiends to a diverse range of left-of-centre, techno-centric dance music in putting on shows with international artists from lo-fi Australian electro wizard Daze, to the harder-edged sounds of Ansome and UVB.Now launching as a vinyl-focused record label, Haven is attempting to push the best of New Zealand's new guard of outsider dance music to the international stage.Their first release gives us three crunchy originals from their club resident and New Zealand techno-export Keepsakes. 'Mind Your Manners Munted Millennial' kicks off the A-side with scratchy percussion, overdriven kicks, and screaming, squelchy synths with a cheeky character distinctive of the young producer's music. 'Maximum Mind Control' then takes us on a different bent with a synth-line sitting somewhere between chilled dub techno and industrial grit that increases in intensity, surprising with a an unexpected end-of-track change. 'Pick 'em Till They Bleed' then begins the B-side with swung and dusty drums reminiscent of the A1 track alongside a loony, gnarled synth-line sure to disorient many a dance-floor. Hard techno genius Ansome rounds off the EP with a rolling, industrial-tinged and crushing interpretation of the B1 to finish Haven's first foray on the international stage.

Berlin-based Pascal Hetzel returns to Caduceus Records with a new slice of gritty industrial-tinged techno and finely tuned sound design. "Noxious Stimulus", the EP's title track, is a heavy peak-time filler with a mesmerizing bleepy modular sequence on top of rough monochrome beats. On her remix, rising talent Denise Rabe cranks up the paranoia and turns "Noxious Stimulus" into an unrelenting pitch black grinder. "Pain Tolerance Threshold" starts off as hefty with yet another dose of metallic atmospheres and crushing modular sequences, until a bright pad appears out of the dark. Proper techno goodness for the wee hours in your favorite warehouse.

A hiatus is always something needed to experience, silence is a process in which one can value and have a closer perspective within sound. An-Archon come to brake that silence, HERMES is on duties for it delivering two massive harsh noise weapons, Samuel Kerridge and Caos + Inmediatismo complete the EP on remixing labors. No one can escape from the An-Archon.

After some ground-breaking live shows and their 2016 debut release for ART - London Modular Alliance have gone from strength to strength to become one of the most in-demand and popular electronic acts.
