For the EPs, Exercise One invited some of their talented friends from along the journey to remix their favourite tracks of the duo's back catalogue, for vinyl and digital release. The relationship with each chosen remixer is a story of its own woven across the years, too many anecdotes for this press release but buy them a Hefeweizen and they'll happily share those tales. EP 3 sees Peter Van Hoesen .Wandering' with a swaggering low-end and kitchen-sink percussion that gifts Donato Dozzy the opportunity to pick up the pace and instil a hint of malicious intent with his dusttreated version of .Prowl'. Finally the duo's dearest mad professor Jacopo Carreras pulls us out of the trip and places us firmly back on the dancefloor. Where it all begins and ends.

Adrian Niculae better known as Priku is one of bucharest's finest djs and producers as well. After realeasing for labels like arpiar and all inn he now decided to start his own path. Motif will probably feature most of his works from now on, plus some of his close aquaintance's.

Acustic is the name chosen for motif 01 and experiment is the game. Not sounding too far from his last experience on arpiar, Bonita mariposa is a dreamy yet pumping track, filled with shakers and spikes that go along perfectly with the dark piano. Afterhour delight or possibly an intricate starter, who could tell . Marker keeps the darkness but inserts more rhythm, more percussion, more mystery. After launching Save The Blessed with 'Don't Touch The K:raal EP'-a two-track release from Francesco "Belfie" Belfiore, complete with remix from Restoration's Xenogears (aka The Analogue Cops)-comes the fledgling vinyl-only house's second instalment, which sees S.T.B. head team up with Rush Hour mainstay San Proper. For a decade San Proper has enjoyed cult status in Holland, particularly in his hometown of Amsterdam where he cut his teeth spinning eclectic sets long before taking to the studio. Production-wise, since joining the Dutch electronic institute with his 'Amsterdam Family' series back in 2007-which saw San Proper collaborate with a medley of known and unknown producers-he has continued to impress with his heady, idiosyncratic take on house and disco, formulating a recognisable live sonic signature that came to a head on his debut full length 'Animal', released last summer. 'Faulkner EP' consolidates Save The Blessed's dedication to analogue craft with an original dubbed-out house work from Francesco Belfiore, rearranged by San Proper on the B-side in token eccentric fashion with vocals and thrumming guitar-redolent bass. For sound aficionados and quirky night owls who enjoy a hefty dose of underground with their wonky, well formed house.

Once again, we're happy to welcome a new artist to the Hivern family. New Jackson hails from Dublin and produces nocturnal disco-adventures from his studio by the sea. 'Sat Around Here Waiting' , his debut for the label, features two of his trademark ghostly jams alongside two remixes by British uprising talent Fort Romeau and our very own Pional.
The title track builds up around muted percs and haunted melodies, creating a spacey atmosphere that somehow resembles Bernard Fevre's Black Devil early productions yet introducing a personal pop twist when the vocodered vocals burst into the mix. On the flip, Fort Romeau delivers the most DJ-friendly version of the pack by reinvigorating the groove with conga rhythms and a bouncy bassline topped with classic piano phrasings. Pional's take delves into the galactic feeling of the original cut by adding an extra shot of floaty melodies and analog drum-machines.
The digital version of the release comes with an additional New Jackson original and a second rework by Pional. 'Below The Bridge' is an obscure piece of slo-mo narcotic machine-funk that blends spectral melodies and soulful vocal samples while Pional's alternate take on the lead cut boosts the euphoria through uplifting synth chords.
The release comes in a limited edition 12' housed in sumptuous sleeve designed by Barcelona's young design studio Co´rdova-Canillas.

Having completed a landmark year in 2011 with the labels 15 Year anniversary celebrations (including a 12-date club tour and 28 track various artist compilation), Drumcode gets back to the future in 2012 with a busy schedule of releases. Followers of Drumcode over recent times will recognize some familiar names within the schedule with projects from Adam Beyer & Joseph Capriati, Alan Fitzpatrick, Kaiserdisco and Ben Sims; whose 'Smoke & Mirrors' album was a 2011 highlight for Drumcode and for many others within the techno scene.

Drumcode's DC Ltd series is home to the seminal label's more underground material. An outlet for the type of unfussy, primal music that has always been the underlying foundation of techno, but separated from the main brand in a way that is meant to highlight the continued importance of the true underground within a techno scene that has become less defined by it's roots and more concerned with commercial success. Releasing infrequently and only available on limited edition vinyl, DC Ltd will feature contributions from Drumcode's roster of artists
alongside new signings and re-issues of never-before-on-vinyl Drumcode tracks.

For the next installment in the DC Ltd series, Drumcode present a three-track EP from the Spanish pairing of Psyk and Alberto Pascual; both increasingly familiar names on the circuit thanks to their work for Plus 8, Figure, AnalyticTrail and Sleaze. Ascent' leads off the EP with what is sure to prove to be a popular combination of upbeat old-school keys and resolute marching beats. Descent' switches things up, treading heavily through a melancholic soundscape of mechanical stabs and harmonic pads. Finally, 'Permanent' dishes up a solid
rhythm track interspersed with distinct rising tones phasing in and out of the mix.

As we are beset by the darkest of seasons, let Sequencias provide a score to fit the mood. Presented in two parts, "Hybrid Furrows" marks the second transmission of the mysterious Healing Force Project from Treviso, Italy.


The first part is a dense, introspective overture. A ceaseless minor key drone lays the path for deep thrumming gong-like pulse and shuddering percussive textures. A song without a coda, a dream without resolution, it simply dissipates like fog—never revealing it's center.


The second part is similarly monolithic in nature, but crafted more for movement than meditation. It is vicious arpeggiated psychedelia, sharp enough to cut into the deepest recesses of your psyche.

Tripeo is embarking on his Second Trip. Untitled #3 dives deep into the darkest realms of dub techno. Not the warm-up or afterhour kind of dub, but peaktime hypnotism made for dark, sweaty basements. ..RANDFORM - minimal art in techno. randform creates a new framework for concept minimalist techno. the project derives its fundamental inspiration from the pioneering and timeless work of studio 1; freiland; profan; audio nl. randform envisions the revival, continuation, and development of the unique aesthetics of minimalism as an art form in and for techno. abstraction, reduction and repetition to extract the pure essence of techno. being a concept label randform highlights with every release a particular interpretation of the common underlying theme of formally rigorous and abstract minimalism. in effect the confirmed artist roster so far already assembles a set of highly distinguished techno and experimental producers, most of whom work out series of records for randform. their identity will be unveiled record by record. the first release randform001 presents a novel project formel 1 by kompakt and auftrieb artist heib with two works of ultra-reduced conceptual techno. as a holistic minimalism project, the artwork is implemented with great care by chosen practitioners of the fine arts. the records as physical objects are thus transformed into works of minimal art in themselves. in partiuclar, the first ten releases are designed by new york based artist sebastian lemm, whose work in exhibited in numerous galleries in manhatten and brooklyn. the colour design is derived from the purity of yves klein blue and will assign a specific colour intensity for each of the first ten releases. in addition drafts of abstract white forms that subtly suggest a possible third spatial dimension complete the record artwork.
