Two very detailed and subtle tracks with the name "Micro Vocal and Supernova" let us hear his musical passion, which has been his passion since the 90's. Keeping the concept of a tight knit family of artists, up next on Sol Asylum is the follow up EP for the Dilated Pupils titled Introducing Remi. This collective of likeminded artists from the Netherlands return to the label with a solid four-track EP that shows their range and diversity as producers.
Moving full speed ahead we start off with 'Remi at 21.16' a track that instantly hypnotizes you on the dance floor with its echoing harmonic synths and a complex metallic snare pattern. The track is a slow burner that explodes when the dirty analog kick, swinging bassline, and filtered percussion melt into an atomic fusion.
Next we take it to the next level with 'Do' its underwater bubbling percussion, bleeping stabs and eerie synth take us to the far off corners of space with just enough acid to keep our heads down and grooving to the strobe light in a dark room.
As we move into fall with 'October Times' a tightly woven groove and galloping kicks push us into more experimental territory with soaring vintage synths that create tension and finesse at the same time.
Finally we finishing things off with the esoteric vibes of 'Suque' this deep and dirty track channels the positive force from another realm, which is the perfect match for the inspiriting concept of Sol Asylum.

Leftback 013 introduces a contemporary series dedicated to bringing through new artists and friends of the label. Internal Connections Volume 1' delivers 4 tracks of stripped back grooves, dark melodic tones and organic instrumentation. Dudley Strangeways & Michael McLardy set the trend on A1 with a building roller using delayed stabs from the main hook that teases its way in towards the end of the track. A2 is by Midlands based DJ and producer Bunny, who plays regular slots at Birmingham's Rainbow venues as well as being resident for Social Underground and has played alongside the likes of Raresh, Fuse, East End Dubs & Sonja Moonear. Bunny supplies a stripped back groove focusing on the rhythm, with intricate hi hat patterns that counter with the bassline. Szymon Wnuk provides nine minutes of deep and twisted minimal for B1 that uses sparse rising base and an understated kick drum that carries the track. B2 welcomes Leftback resident Chris Boardman on his production debut that rounds the EP off with a heavier techno leaning feel that compliments the rest of the EP well. VINYL ONLY.

The first track, Moaning, has a linear feeling at the beginning: a layer of bass lines makes your feet move instantly until some subtle piano sounds come in at the perfect moment. It creates an atmospheric vibe and when the bass kicks in again, everything seems to fall into place. Cosmjn's interpretation is, as expected, more serious and it has a no-nonsense approach: stripped of the melodic piano sounds, a strong bass line takes over, which makes for an interesting contrast to the original track.
If Moaning was a more gentle track, Fr Sa Su is a little bit different: dance floor oriented, the rhythm is certainly higher and it has some intriguing background sounds that go hand in hand with the powerful bass that grows on you from the start of the track. The Florian Meffert remix closes this EP and it goes out on a strong note: it is a complex track with very different elements and sounds that complement each other just right to get things going.

To top it of in our artistic approach, we bring you this unique 100% romanian cover, "Necromæns" painted with acrylics on canvas by talented Anita Frâncu. Aney's sound has spread across the world in the last few years and this record is a perfect example of why his music has become so popular in the scene.The second track on Side A is one that takes us darker and deeper. Cicuendez has set a heavy vibe for his track '5 Years'. The elements that make up this track come together perfectly and form a well rounded thumping production. Not only are we happy to hear this production on Samani, but we also look forward to hearing more from this talented producer in the future.B:F.eht has stepped forward to open up the flip side with a remix of Aney's track on Side A, this time offering a slightly different vibe whilst keeping the energy on offer tom the original. This is another one fit for the club, and one that show's how far the head of Samani has come in the last few years.Finally, 'Jessabelle'. This production by Battric & MIVU is a real roller, you only have to listen to the choppy bassline to realise that. The breakdown half way through the track uses some really crisp synths to lighten the mood, before breaking back in to a slightly evolved version of the main body of the track. This duo are definitely a pair to look out for this year. SMNI002 is 100% one for the record bag, and will be one heard across the world in future months.

As the winter solstice approaches and the fool's journey comes to a close, Chapter 24 marks its first two years of great releases with a 24th EP. This symbolic offering is a vinyl-only package from Masaya, with an Edition by her close friend and frequent b2b DJ partner Ripperton.
Masaya's entire life is music and this really shines through across the four cuts served up by the Swiss-Chilean artist. As boss of her own label Mina Records, she is a real underground star who has been responsible for numerous great releases over the last ten years.
'Borderline' kicks things off and is nine minutes of spine-tingling deep house music with haunting vocals and wispy autumnal synths. Subtle and seductive, it is a killer opener to the EP. 'Picture' is then just as emotive and spiritual, with tender string sweeps and rolling rubbery beats mixed in with warm finger clicks to make for a hugely atmospheric house groove. The final original is 'Flow of Tears', which is again cavernous and deep, its sombre chords draped over gentle drums with whispered vocals that really mark it out as an evocative listen.
Ripperton is the long time deep house star from Switzerland who runs his own Tamed Musiq and has a fine discography, releasing on the likes of Innervisions, Maeve and more. His version of 'Flow of Tears' captures the sound of futuristic house and techno in 2016. It is more direct and driven, with corrugated drums and loose limbed percussion lulling you into his autumnal groove.
