Today, the electrifying Copenhagen-based DJ and producer, Anastasia Kristensen, has announced a new EP “Cordyceps Disco” out on 14th November 2023. This will be the first release on her new label absorb emit, marking a bold new chapter for Kristensen.

This new EP marks the next chapter in Kristensen's artistic development, stepping away from the close and personal nature of her previous work, instead reflecting a broader sentiment of the post-pandemic climate. “Cordyceps Disco” is set in a romanticised future, allowing listeners to come to the dancefloor and let go of their fears for the millennium to come; of climate anxiety and hypercapitalism. Lightly inspired by the sci-fi futures in Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov novels, and taking its name after the brain-eating fungi in the recent series The Last of Us, “Cordyceps Disco” imagines a future dancefloor where listeners can forget about reality and be completely immersed in a beautifully dark yet uplifting atmosphere.

French techno artist Cøncenträte returns for his second vinyl release of Gynoid with a very deep and haunting track Semantika, that also gets a slightly more industrial rework by Jonas Kopp . The second track Timewarp is much fatter with lots of dance-floor punch and a bonus Developer remix.

Fifth release with dusty jams from the Swedish label run by Per Hammar. Edvin Wikner’s ”Skritt” comes as an original, together with remixes from fellow Scandinavian S.A.M., Rowlanz and Per Hammar himself.

The original has been a frequently dropped club weapon among Per Hammar and his friends for a while before he decided to snatch the track to Dirty Hands before someone would reach for it.

Wikner is a Swedish artist who runs the Instance club and Maraton label, a talent that has a refined sound and slick technique that leads to some absorbing rhythms and classy house grooves, as this new one proves.

The opener track is a bubbling deep house groove with deft percussion sprinkled over a warped bassline that keeps on pulling you in. It is mind melting and hypnotic, sure to build a real vibe amongst a club setting. The Rowlanz remix smooths it out into something dreamy and atmospheric, with gorgeous sci-fi pads drifting about in the distance, sinking you into a reverie.

The Dirty Hands founder, Per Hammar, then comes correct with a remix which gets busier and more driving, with supple drums and wavy bass all working you into a tasteful minimal lather, a direction we are familiar with from fellow Swedish man. Last of all, S.A.M. gets freaky with a trippy after-hours vision that is dubbed out deep techno with haunting vocal whispers and subtle sound designs that all occupy your mind. A well rounded and killer EP, with a variety of producers showing their cards.

"Live From Earth" is proud to present the highly anticipated album "Løvehjerte" by MRD who has spent two years putting together a collection of 10 songs that showcase his signature sound. This album is a dedication to his journey as a writer and composer, taking influences from new wave, post-punk, techno, and pop music.

Drawing inspiration from his experiences and nature's beauty, MRD has imbued his compositions with a deeper touch, creating a beautiful and introspective album. The title "Løvehjerte" pays homage to the Astrid Lindgren movie "Brødrene Løvehjerte," which tells a heart-warming story about brotherhood and perseverance. The themes of the songs are centered around experiences of breakups, lost friends, loneliness, new friends, and the constant pursuit of quality in life. MRD's melancholic yet captivating lyrics come from both real-life experiences and fiction, creating an emotional journey for the listener.

The album features collaborations with some talented artists who have contributed their perspective to the artist's sound. "TDJ" on "Memories Of You" was recorded in Canada, Montreal, while "Caiva" adds her beautiful vocals and saxophone solo to "Find My Way." "Narciss" also lends their magical production to "Midsommar," while the artist's good friend Kristoffer Scheie helped record the vocals and co-wrote the lyrics.

This latest work is sure to become a crossover sensation. Bridging the gap between Indie and Techno in a way only MRD can. MRD's album launch will be one of our highlights of this spring.

Sebastian Heda's new EP is a auditory glimpse into the insides of the haywired central nervous system of a man machine. The opener DISSOLUTION takes no prisoners and sets the direction for this exploration in modular-made attacks from a dystopian future. Followed by no less than two great remixes by ARCHITEKTUR and CAREMAJOR. The next and eponymous track CV GUERILLA is at arms and aims at you with relentless, percussive drum fire and another well executed version by ENDLEC. Finally you get short bursts of radio traffic from a RANDOM SOURCE, leaving nothing but silence and a big grin on your face.

In April she performed with Ryoji Ikeda and RADIQ in Osaka. In September she released a single from CPU Records, and then released Reed from her eponymous label YL. She shows her talent in various musical fields. She produced music for TEDxKobe. She made an appearance at "The Star Festival 2017"(very popular Japanese Music Festival) as a secret DJ a.k.a "Ghost Selectors", and made a huge buzz.Recently, she performed several live shows in Europe, and is starting to gather global attention. With Floorplan, Robert Hood blends techno elements with disco, house and soul to create a real party vibe. He first introduced it in the mid 90s with 'Funky Souls', originally on his own Drama sub-label but re-released last year. While more recently his 'Move It' track as Floorplan was a major highlight on EPM Music's 10th anniversary compilation, 'EPM10'

The first solo excursion on Half Grand Records comes from label boss, Jon Doppler. Clocking in at 37 minutes, this collection plays more like a mini album than a 12”.

The Artifact is full of the cavernous electro vibes that Doppler hinted at on the previously released compilations from the label. And if this record is an Artifact, it belongs at the bottom of the Mariana Trench with its alien percussion and deep, fluid bass.

It’s hard to pick a favorite as any one of these tracks would add atmosphere and color to a set. “Sapphire” sounds like it would perfectly underscore the discovery of an ancient Atlantean civilization. While Tar Like Gold’s driving, arpeggiated basslines and vocal samples “tomorrow holds the key” look to the future.

Day Of Action sees Low Order reinforcing his vision of unrelenting techno-realism. Knowing the Tel Aviv producer’s general direction, it shouldn’t be inherently shocking that his latest 5-track EP comes storming out in radical fashion, immediately punching one in the face with its blunt, incredibly heavy bassdrums. For the fourth iteration of the label catalog, Michal Wolski delivers two original tracks in his signature style and leads the label sound towards a more straightforward territory. Ram Godt is a very versatile Belgian artist when it comes to producing and has a very strong sound. In this EP Ram Godt proposes a first track, "Raised by Goddess", more emotional and uplifting and a second cut, "Godt's Touch", thought in essence to be danced on the dancefloor, quality techno.

It is impossible not to find parallels between the sound of "La Ruta Destroy" and Victor Muerte. The young Valencian presents two somewhat different tracks. The first of these, "Corazón Valiente", with a more raw touch with vocals sung by himself and the second, "El Encuentro", with a more ambiental melody and somehow reminiscent to the trance proposed in past times

"Awaken the Legacy" is the first EP to be released in early September 2020 on the Berlin Techno Label INHERIT. The four-track release spotlights two original tracks from the founders of INHERIT Daniel Heinrich & Disguised as well as two remixes by MORBECK & YA.

The original tracks "Awaken the Legacy" & "Power" perfectly demonstrate why Daniel Heinrich & Disguised decided to take their collaboration to the next level and to found INHERIT at the beginning of 2020. The sound of both original tracks is straightforward and shakes your body to a melodic mix of trance tunes combined with hard drum sessions.

The HAVEN white label series is back after a year's break with the fifth instalment of the infamous Sardonic Tonality compilation series - this time with three newcomers to the imprint and one existing label artist visiting the series for the first time.

The A1 kicks off the record with Otautahi (Christchurch) local techno legend Keanu Raves - a regular DJ at HAVEN events in their hometown. Booming kicks, rolling percussion, and emotive synth work come together in this perfect dance-floor killer that's already been making the rounds at Aotearoa warehouse raves and outdoor parties. Following up is Valerie Ace on the A2 with a tripped-out slab of techno weight. Eerie synth textures, creeping vocal whispers and pounding drum rhythms combine in another delight for all club creatures from the promising German producer.

On the flip French production demon Draugr revisits the label again following on from his Nine Nights EP at the end of 2021. Menacing melodies, charging drum work and ominous atmospheres pour out of yet another industrial-tinged mammoth from the Parisian nightmare weaver. Ending the record is the label debut of Berlin-based Puerto Rican heavyweight Xiorro. Off-beat bass, hypnotic percussions, and grungy synth blasts close out the compilation with another certified club weapon.

Berlin based producer & DJ ´Yannek Maunz´ teaming up with mighty vocalist ´Johanson´ and delievering a deep and bass-heavy melodic techno masterstroke for the 3rd journey on ´Future Romance´. Yannek´s signature sound made up of analog synths, organic percussion and a knack for memorable melodies which give you goosebumps. "The Fall" offers exactly this! As remixer for this profound release we could win the established Venezuelan producer & DJ ´Fur Coat´, wellknown for his glorious releases on labels like Systematic, Renaissance or his own imprint Oddity. A DAY IN THE LIFE – is the first chapter of a dedicated series fully curated by Steve Bicknell for KR3.

This bold new work by the veteran English artist provides an insight into the mind of the artist.

Side A features three tracks by The Evader, another face of Steve Bicknell.

An obscure intro leads us straight to the point: 4/4 sounds, repetitive and hypnotic, not afraid to be heavy.

In fact, that’s the point: to take everything that is a burden to us and embrace it. After all, there can be no light without darkness.

On Side B, Steve Bicknell has a killer approach. A parallel rail to Side A, with a more furious, still gloomy attitude. He moves in the same direction but vents different emotions. The sound is harder, rawer, faster and more impetuous. An outro ends the EP, as if to represent a circle closing: The first lap inside A Day in the Life.

I am proud to present the first EP featuring artists from my Patreon community on Electric Ballrom. We continue to dig into the archives to unleash the Bonzai sound on to a new generation of fans and stir up cherished memories for those that know. Bonzai Compilation III – Rave Nation first saw the light of day in 1994 on CD and showcased the talents of a fine roster of in-house artists who were churning out hit after hit. Despite only being two years old at the time, Bonzai Records had already taken the electronic dance music world by storm with previous comps proving hugely popular across Europe and continues to do so with enthusiasm to this day. For the vinyl collectors, we’ve selected and remastered 9 tracks off the original release from Aqua Contact, Techno Junkies, 3XXX, Dialectrum, Jones & Stephenson, Airplay, Bountyhunter, Yves Deruyter and B.W.P. Experiments along with a first-time-on-vinyl appearance for Yves Deruyter’s remix of La Sirena by Aqua Contact. This limited 2x12” presented in a gatefold sleeve with original artwork is the perfect curation, providing you with a mighty arsenal of weapons to unleash on the dance floor.

In 2009, amidst the vibrant energy of a wild party, a match was lit between two music nerds: Bjarki, who played techno and Árni, back then a dubstep master—today, he commands the releases of NIX. From this serendipitous introduction, a bond was forged that not only tied them as best friends, but also as fellow travelers on a journey of sound. Bjarki's sounds? Ever-evolving and eclectic. Árni music is electric and leans towards the rhythmic pull of UK bass.

Their mutual admiration was evident through the intense and inspiring sounds of weird electronic music. Árni introduced Bjarki to a world colored by artists like Mark Pritchard’s and Tom Middleton’s Global Communication, Delia Derbshire, Loefah and many others; he was also often the first to experience Bjarki’s raw demos, from the earlier days in downtown Reykjavik to global stages and festivals. Together they have developed and sculptured a friendship and also the rave scene in Iceland, from underground raves in caves to big warehouse parties, like in their recent project BUXUR.

Later, both found themselves in Berlin—Bjarki chasing flights and Árni diving into electronic music production studies. Berlin also saw the birth of "Greafe", a music listening sanctuary, born from the minds of Árni and his roommate, Jade.

When NIX took its baby steps under Árni's guidance, it was only natural for Bjarki to come on board. The EP's A-side features "Tears in Berghain", a track inspired by Bjarki & Kuldaboli's deepfake sessions during the pandemic, brilliantly blending Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven” vocals into the Berghain cosmos.

As Bjarki recalls, "It just felt right.”

Craving a rave anthem? Ask Daddy. The A2 spot is taken with "Rave Daddy", an exclusive NIX MIX created for Bjarki’s AV live show Look At Yourself in 2022. This is your only shot to snag it on vinyl.

Flip over for the B-side and there's a tale to tell: entrusted with the keys to Greafe, Bjarki leaves London and makes the most of Arni's iconic speaker system in Berlin, delivering "Pano Party (Dressless)”. A seductive AI-generated voice chants – "you're wearing boots and a dress, in my mind you're dancing, in a dress... you're cute, and on top". Decipher its meaning if you can, but one thing's for sure, it's a track that you wished was always played at Panorama Bar. Or in your living room.

This EP certainly keeps it weird, fresh and funky. What more can you ask from Bjarki?
