PARALLAX RECORDINGS is proud to kick off 2019 in style by welcoming the one and only Tim Reaper for his Parallax debut. 'Dead & Buried' has been turning heads everywhere it's played with its lethal combo of horror samples and crazy mentasms. Although 'Journey To The Moon' doesn't feature any horror samples it's just as pitch black in feeling: relentless beats, heavy sub bass and rushing synths combine to guarantee dancefloor detonation. To balance the darkness Tim also drops the positively uplifting 'Dope Break', which combines rough beats with melancholic melodies to deliver enough punch to light up any peaktime floor. To close the EP in style Tim supplies a thundering remix of On 1 Crew's 'Bad Dreams', an obscure little number that LTJ Bukem used to play in '93 and which was the first release on Parallax back in 2016. Tim flipped it in no time at all, effortlessly delivering this nutty jungle techno beast. Enjoy this 'terror brought down to earth'!

Fabio & Grooverider have been at the forefront of UK dance music for over 3 decades. This is the roots of their story told through music.

The 2 London DJ's are part of the DNA of the global Jungle / D&B movement and they have remained relevant, cutting edge, authoritative and essential to this truly underground art-form since it's inception. RAGE could arguably be the ground zero of Jungle. The party was started at London's cavernous Heaven club by Fabio & Grooverider in 1988, at the height of Acid House fever that was making it's way up and down the motorways, slip-roads, fields and warehouses of the M25 and further beyond every weekend, troubling the nation, the police, your parents and the press as it went. RAGE was a different beast, it certainly channelled some of that Acid energy but pitted it against the new and exciting sounds emanating from Belgium, Amsterdam, Detroit, Sheffield, Essex and Hackney and in turn created a new style, a new sonic attitude and energy in the process. Rumbling bass-lines, narcotic synth rushes and roughly chopped and sped-up breakbeats all merged into a style that we now know as Jungle. Nothing like this had been heard before, this was a brand new style and it was coming out of London's West End and Fabio & Grooverider were the people firmly behind it.

RAGE is approaching it's 30th anniversary. It's sonic and cultural legacy is still being felt today, Fabio & Groove are still shutting down raves and festivals every weekend all over the world with their superior DJ sets and musical knowledge guided by their pioneering spirit. This musical selection you hold in your hands, the first of 4 parts, sees them delve into their prodigious memories and record boxes to select a true musical representation of the very beginning of one of the UK's most unique and influential musical movements of the last 50 years. Across 4 x 2 x 12"s compilations we are taken on the journey through the sounds of RAGE, accompanied with track by track notes from Fabio & Groove themselves. This is the sound of the underground, from the inside out.

* The original sister label to Ram Records from the old Ram HQ studio in Essex, Liftin Spirit Records now celebrates it’s 25th year with a special ‘RELOADED’ limited vinyl series of remastered classics, alongside rare and previously unreleased tracks since the beginning in1992.

* DATs from artists such as Andy C, Ant Miles, Shimon, Joint Venture, Interrogator and Red One have been located in the archives. Also from the Ram & Liftin HQ came tracks for the Deep Seven label in 1993 and all these rare DAT masters have been located and now re-cut by Simon, the original Ram & Liftin vinyl masterer at ‘The Exchange’. Initially, Deep Seven remasters will present on a printed white label and unreleased tracks will have a black label.

* We continue our Deep Seven series in 2020 with another smasher from Ironik. Originally released in 1993 on Deep Seven, this 12" never made it past promo stage, commanding huge price tags for the original presses. We have remastered both mixes improving the quality of both the audio and the pressing and will present on our heavyweight 180g vinyl.

Micropoint have been in the eye of the storm of the French Hardcore Techno scene since the 90’s. Still playing live and releasing amazing music in 2020! This EP harks back to the early days of Micropoint. These 4 unreleased tracks have been languishing on a DAT for the last 20 years. Now, polished up and with 21st century mastering, these tracks sound incredible and prove how far ahead these guys were with their style and production.

Lost In Confusion is a 161 BPM Mental Techno long bloody tune... based on a sample from This Mortal Coil 'Filgrees and shadows ithink)... Superb Mental dark techno ambiance. B side starts with a sounds like A side tune, even more industrial and creeping. A cinematic tune.... Second tune of B-side gives a Mentalcore kicker track 180 BPM, very industrial as well, full of breaks and solid tribal beat. YEAH !

Together they’ve created fresh new music that floats effortlessly above traditional genre delineation, with a dubbed-out and experimental melange of modern acid house, post punk, global grooves and clattering beats. Still not complying to genres,’TimeVery Near’ is their tentacular new album, which gathers sounds and inspiration from an ever-expanding palette of influences, assembled into something amorphously intangible that’s simultaneously refreshing and sharp, meandering and cosmic, futuristic but timelessly vintage.

Indonesia’s Gabber Modus Operandi’s debut album for Shanghai’s maverick Sbvkvlt kru despatches eight hooligan alloys of heavy metal, militant Dutch kick drums and native styles of gamelan and Dangdut Koplo - local folk-pop - for a totally unique proposition no matter what angle you’re coming from. It’s a seethingly up-for-it and puckishly immediate sound, lending a thrilling new spin to well-trampled tropes in a way symptomatic of the current wave of rave goods.
Working a sound bound to unite scallies from Sunderland to Rotterdam and Jakarta, ‘Hoxxya’ toggles the pressure between mixtures of industrial panel beating and BM atmospheres in ‘Genderuwo’ to the hypnotic meld of pealing horns and bonehead stamp in ‘Sangkakala III’, getting the heart rate up with the adrenalised stepper ‘Semeton 10 Ton’, along with the scudding swagger of ‘Kon’, nodding south to the Bloody Fist crew and their apocryphal Pyongyang Hardcore Resistance in ‘Tekyan’, while ‘Trance Adiluhunxxx’ gives a stinging shot of melodic energy, and the hyper percussion of ‘Calon Arang’ and ‘Padang Galaxxx’ get us gurning like a hellish tribal mask.
