Kingsize’s “Star Machine” was already a favourite with record buyers, Nookie takes it to the next level and beyond. The remix really is a thing of beauty, it oozes class. A must buy.

THE AFTERGLOW OF THESE SOUNDS CULMINATES IN AN EP THAT RIPPLES WITH INTRIGUING HOOKS, CORROSIVE QUALITIES AND STRANGELY BLISSFUL MELODIES. Back in the washing machine for another high intensity Tekno wash cycle of gorgeous percussive mayhem with one more carefully selected EP from the vast Spiral Tribe repertoire. This time “Stormcore 2” from Crystal Distortion aka Simon Carter takes us on a high speed stroll with 4 tracks set at a solid 180bpm all throughout. Another masterful expose of early hardcore/tekno production techniques with endless layering and intertwining of percussive elements skillfully unfolding throughout long build ups of raw rhythmic intercourse. Aesthetically pioneering to say the least. Meticulously remastered down the street from Sound Metaphors at Manmade mastering.

If the Outside Agency's new release on Genosha 175 was to be summarized with a few keywords, they would most likely be 'twisted' and 'evil'. On an ever ongoing crusade to bring high-quality tracks to a tainted genre, another word to describe this release could be 'uncompromising'. 'The Legacy of Cain' refers to the story of the first murderer, which symbolizes the first act of evil. For the Outside Agency, it is a return to their roots with a track that combines a very dark atmosphere with relentless breakbeats and kickdrums. The vicious, freakish nature of 'I Saw My Grave' is conveyed through distorted, dissonant pads and eerie sounding children's voices. There is an underlying sense of dread in this music that will remind you that evil is not just a set of jump scares, which might startle you momentarily but otherwise will not affect you. It does not just reveal itself when you quickly glance in the mirror, noticing something 'off' behind you. It is everywhere, both around us and inside us... all the time.

His debut EP on Amen Brother and for this release, he went for a different approach to our usual kind of release. This EP has been created to sound like recording of a rave from the early 90’s. Back in the day, tape packs and bootleg cassettes were common place, where raves from all over the country could be enjoyed at home, especially by those of us who were too young to attend. They were like currency, traded with mates at school or sent to friends in other parts of the country by post.

Tony Justice kicks you off at the start of the rave, interlinking all the tracks by extracts of various raves so the release runs smoothly (for the digital we chopped the EP into 4). You are then asked to leave… but quietly. And don’t go looking for any free parties in Bournemouth!

Toolbox is so proud of this wax.... I discover Somatic Responses with their very first EP on CFET, and I still dig for any of their music... Whatever it was with Cavage, with Ant-Zen or with DBN. But it's true to say Techno became more and more rare with them. And this time we hang on with four unreleased techno and hardcore tunes from Somatic Responses !!! The sound is just Acid and crazy of course, but this is not oldschool... this is Music, probably the best musical EP on Acid Night. Check this LIVE at the Glaz'Art on 13th of September ! LOVE !

Originally released on Rhythm Section Recordings in 1992, this EP will be well known to many who use to got to the big raves of the early 90’s. Every track captures that moment of history, erupting into peak time rave anthems with hooks and riff that imprint into your brain!

The tracks go from the darker side of the scene into full on rave anthems for the hand sin the air crew. You know if it came out on RSR back in the day that it will tick every box and more.

Rhythm Section are still very much friends and still find time to go into the studio together. Watch out for more original material by the band coming out on Vinyl Fanatiks during 2022.

Melodious tribecore and Harfloor.

Paul Bradley, one of Kniteforces leading creators, is adept at any style of old skool rave, but when he turned his hand to the original old skool sound, he chose a new Alias, in Alias 303. This EP is a heavyweight slice of proper original rave music. Sounding like something Frank De Wulf or R&S might have released in 1991, its a dirty techno rave EP with filthy stabs but crystal clean production!
