Laurent Paranthoën aka Commuter discovered music thanks to Kraftwerk's album Radio Activity, found in his parent's record collection ...and quickly fell in love with acid house, new beat and early techno ....
At a young age he became interested in musical production, synthesizers, and musical software......So, he began his journey into music by trying to produce rap music...
But his synthpop, EBM, and 80's influences (he's a huge Depeche Mode fan ) naturally pushed him back to techno and electro culture,..
After refining his production skills and sound, in 1998 he started playing Techno live acts in several techno parties across his homeland, Brittany.
In the early 00's, he moved to PARIS, met Elektrofon Label's crew, and in 2007 released his first 12 inch with them, «Electrostate of Mind» an EBM/Techno collaboration with LAAG for vocals. The Hacker made an excellent remix of it.
His 3rd EP with Elektrofon, «Black Friday» was released in 2009 and remixed by Julian Jeweil. He then decided to sent a demo to Electric Rescue, and the 'Template EP' found its way to the famous french techno label Skryptöm in early 2010. This was followed by several EPs and remixes on various labels like Goog Records, Space Factory, LCMTC, Junky Robot, Verboten, ...
Since then, it appears that Commuter has a growing popularity on the french techno scene, now playing in some of the best parties and clubs in France, such as PLAY nights, Astropolis Festival, Bataclan, Glazart, Batofar, Lieu Unique, Panoramas Festival and the legendary Rex club...

Zeitlos, a german word meaning 'timeless' is one way to describe Chris Wood & Meat's new EP, Triple S. This is House of a different flavor, pulling influences from freestyle jazz and funk. We find ourselves late in the night. We enter Triple S; a smoky cool atmosphere, relaxed and ready. Light percussion leads us into the back, where a lone wandering bass line takes the stage. The simmer of hi hats and trample of toms usher in the kicks. Chugging along, a single jazz flute, and sassy women punch through the fog. The strings rise and the bass sinks into the cellar. Downplayed with style and elegance, Triple S is the perfect track for half past midnight, opening the gates and pouring your body on to the dancefloor. Moving along, we come to 'The Girl With The Blue'. We jump right into the beat, as saxaphones hum in the distance in anticipation of the hot and sultry build. The Perfect warm up to a great set on any hot dancefloor. Next up we Chris and Meat Go East. Taking us back to the days when disco ruled the world, and funk was king. Light chords from an electric piano accompanied by shakers get things moving in the right direction. The bass steps in and chords rise. 'The place I want to go' is where we end up, a bubbling mix of piano and funky guitar licks. The track holds itself well against Triple S and The Girl With The Blue as the feel-good, happy end to the EP. The Digital exclusive Dub version of Triple S gets down to business, stepping the energy up and hitting the bass where it counts; while maintaining all what makes Triple S what is is. Chris Woods & Meat open the doors of funk, and dive into jazz to prove themselves once again in this release, which is sure to make a splash wherever, and whenever played.

Grewing up in a house full of music had many influences by different kinds to him.
He started playing the piano at the age of 6 and that you can hear on his first production for Mainrecords
wich is a very melodic and well produced Hybrid between Techno and Trance.
For his debut we got some cool remixes!
The first one is from our long-time friend Frank Leicher
who's stripped down the original to a techhouse bomb in his typical style.
On the flip we present a crazy technoid remix by knowone less then Alex Bau.
His repaint uses just the essential drums from the original.

All four new and exclusive tracks deal in techno urgency. Delta Funktionen goes deep and dramatic, Peter Van Hoesen offers up his usual dub-wise textures, whilst Lindau pairs icy hi-hats with a heavy stomping beat.
