Tag aufs Neue auf Wankelmut's Soundcloud Page lesen musste, diese ständige, immer
wiederkehrende Enttäuschung, das ewige - fast schon zermürbende Warten - es hat ein
Ende.Aber jetzt erstmal von vorne: Ausgehend von seiner Begeisterung für das Album - The Reckoning' des israelischen
Sängers Asaf Avidan, entschloss sich der junge Berliner DJ Jacob Dilßner aka Wankelmut im
Winter 2011 dazu einen Remix des Songs - Reckoning Song' anzufertigen. Was ursprünglich
als privates DJ Tool für Wankelmut's Club Gigs gedacht war, entwickelte sich über einen
Soundcloud Link zu einem weltweiten Internet Phänomen. Bereits im Januar 2012 hatte der
Track sowohl bei Soundcloud, als auch bei Youtube sechsstellige Plays und Klicks zu
verzeichnen. Wankelmut selbst sah sich mit einer Unmenge an Lizenz- und DJ
Bookinganfragen aus aller Welt konfrontiert. Getragen von mittlerweile knapp 4 Millionen
Youtube Plays und auch 100% authorisiert von Asaf Avidan erscheint der Titel nun bei
Columbia Four Music.

Pluie/Noir has been pushing the boundaries between the worlds of music and graphic art. Slowly gaining reputation with their already respectable podcast series of music and triptych artwork interpretations, their debut as a vinyl-only imprint comes nothing short of daze. Signed by no other than Romanian tour-de-force Petre Inspirescu, this EP delivers two quite distinct yet wonderfully immersive moments of pure bliss and incredible production forte. Un Livret de Duminica strikes somehow familiar to his musical adventures as TT Ensemble out on his own Yojik-Concon, and re-imagines it in a different yet dreamy setting where classic music once again bends with the finest micro-house grooves. Synth Society draws the listener away from the skyline and lands him inside a giant modular system. Here the hooks are on the addicting bassline and the unsettling sense of room space on all frequencies of modular sounds he used, proving that Petre is without a doubt one of the most intelligent and provocative music writters/producers around. Artwork was drawn by talented fine-arts student and music producer Traian Chereches (TC Studio), member of the P/N Artist Collective.Definitely a great start for the imprint, and a mere glimpse of what's coming next.

Berghain-Resident-DJ Norman Nodge präsentiert die sechste Mix-CD in der Serie. Seit 2005 bespielt Norman Nodge monatlich den Berghain-Floor und ist zu einem wichtigen Bestandteil der Crew geworden. Mit eigenen Veröffentlichungen auf Marcel Dettmanns MDR-Label und auf Ostgut Ton pendelt er zwischen zeitlosem Techno-Funk und waghalsigen Abstraktionen und konnte sich so als Produzent mit eigener Handschrift empfehlen. Als DJ kombiniert er klassischen Detroit- und UK-Techno mit Chicago-House und viel neuem Material, gerne auch eher ungewöhnliche Sounds, die sich nicht an angesagten Stilrichtungen orientieren. Das Konzept von 'Zuckerbrot und Peitsche' ist ihm dabei auch nicht unbekannt. Im Mix dieser CD treffen Klassiker wie Jeff Mills' 'Keeping Of The Kept' auf aktuelle Sounds, wie zum Beispiel Patrick Gräsers 'From Foreign Territories', einer von drei bisher unveröffentlichten Exklusiv-Tracks auf der CD. Nodge setzt voll auf Vielseitigkeit, so stehen zum Beispiel experimentellere Tracks wie Legowelt's Remix des wundervollen 'Rainy Day Juno Jam' von Xosar neben neuen Tracks von bekannten Techno-Größen, wie Keith Tenniswood, der als Radioactive Man den Track 'Nastyradio' beisteuert. Mit dem bisher wahrscheinlich breitesten Spektrum an Stilen auf einer Berghain Mix-CD überzeugt Norman Nodge mit seinem Mut zu neuen Kombinationen.

At the end of 2006, Erol Alkan was at a crossroads. He'd been voted DJ of the year by Mixmag. He'dmade landmark, expectation-defying remixes for bands he loved: a crunching 'glam racket' reworking of 'Do You Want To' for Franz Ferdinand, a wonderfully wistful reinterpretation of Hop Chip's 'Boy From School', a psychedelic take on Scissor Sisters' 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' and a genre-defining reworking of Justice's 'Waters Of Nazereth'. He was about to close Trash, the Monday night indie disco that had somehow morphed into the most adventurous, influential and glamorous club night in the world without changing its attitude, musical philosophy - or ever charging over six pounds on the door. Other triumphs lay a little further in the past. In 2006, he supported Daft Punk for their live return at Global Gathering at their own personal request. The year before, he did the same for Madonna at Koko in Camden with a DJ set which she used as an intro tape on her subsequent world tour. In 2002, he'd lent some muscle to another icon, creating the bootleg of 'Blue Monday' and 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' that Kylie performed at the Brits in 2002: the culmination of a craze for 'bastard pop' hybrids he'd been instrumental in creating alongside long-term kindred spirits Soulwax. Then there were his DJ sets at clubs and festivals around the world, in which Erol's unerring instinct for playing the right record at the right time brought hardened clubbers and alternative music obsessives together in abandoned celebration of brilliant music. Though he started DJing in dance clubs in earnest in 2001 after being invited to play at Bugged Out, Erol still considers himself an outsider in that scene. 'Unfortunately, I never had that seismic moment of hearing someone like Carl Craig DJ in '96' he says. 'I feel as passionately about the Manic Street Preachers as people in dance music do about Kraftwerk.

Luca Lozano presents KLSUNDERGROUND001 is Klasse Recordings' first foray into the various artists compilation field, a small but perfectly formed EP consisting of five tracks from various family members and extended homeboys. The idea behind the series is to take the focus back to the music, the EP aims to concentrate on tracks that are made with passion, pride and belief. Music that will stand the test of time against the torrent of seemingly endless throwaway material that floods our inbox day by day. The tracks on the EP speak for themselves, so I will do away with the usual wacky metaphors and just urge you to give them a listen. After 2 years of squabbling over who does the washing up and various teabag shortages in the kitchen, Luke and Milla decided to take their arguments into the studio.
Milla comes from an Indie and Scando-Pop listening background with Luke being a full on House and Techno chin stroker. They love to experiment and record lots of different sounds for their compositions; be it 5 guys in the garden shed bashing bin lids together, screwing up plastic bags or sweeping the floor, if it makes a sound, it makes music.
Together they have created a spacey and melancholic two tracker abundant with love and emotion. Disappearing Stars comes with a Matthew Burton and Kate Rathod remix and the It's Just Us remix has Luke and Matthew behind the wheel taking it down to China town.

VID is a new project by Romanian young talent Sorin Rastoaca who mainly has released techno and house as EGAL 3 in the last few years. Here he teams up with his friend, the CircoLoco Monday night resident Andrew Grant for some refreshing beats. EGAL 3 (Baracca Music) has collaborated with Livio & Roby, Santos and others and here 'Fear', a collaboration between Andrew and Sorin really grabs you without letting go with it's intense subby rumbling groove and tight dubby transitions. 'Dinamic' and 'Inlove' are testaments of Sorin's musical integrity yet at early age, and shows obvious inspiration from classic american techno, and modern dub techno, yet still delivering something that is housy and totally current. We're very proud to bring these guys onboard our ship and being able to present you with one of the first vinyl releases by the new production and Live-project VID!
