RUSSIAS DENIS A WITH HIS 16TH RELEASE

Organic Art Movement's newest signing Morgan Hood, serve up a smorgasbord of atmospheric techno, dubbed out textures and staunch analog muscle.
Morgan Hood survey a sonic landscape that explores the intersections that occur within Oramics range of emotions that are both tough and commanding yet nuanced and subtle. These spectral adventures utilise a sonic arsenal that covers a broad range of electronic and acoustic tones peppered with field recordings of electromagnetic interference, echo chambers and static.

In Mega-Caller, course strokes of electronic interference fizz and spray into a silhouette of dubbed out melancholia to form a backdrop to which vast chords emerge without warning and disappear into the ether. The ground is shaken with a monolithic bass that almost threatens to shatter the delicately constructed arrangement of hand recorded claps, particles of static and other electroacoustic oddities.

Potent Techno-Noir anthem 'Safari' compels us to envisage an Orwellian disco. Bauhaus frequencies and Icey reverbs are the order of the day here with chilling pads dissipating into a smoke filled ether. Meanwhile, the low frequency spectrum is driven by a myriad of unpredictable bass excursions, tumbling and waltzing with their percussive cousins; distorted cowbells, murky toms, and a deformed mutant of an acid house loop.

Consider this an unlikely new soundtrack to London's underground.

Originally released on Montreal's long defunct Intr_version label in 2001, Primordia was Scott Monteith's first foray into the album format, and some 13 years on serves as a remarkable document of the driving aesthetic touchstones which even at this early stage were bubbling to the surface and have gone on to define the sound of his Deadbeat project in the many years since. Over the course of 7 colossal slabs of crackling digital atmospheres and rumbling drone, a dirge of muted kick drums serve as the only steady anchor in a sea of wildly unhinged and naive sound experimentation, with the whole lovely mess plummeting into a endless cloud of decaying echos, granular processing, and cracked software reverb plugins. With it's production coinciding with the first years of his tenure at the Montreal based music software company Applied Acoustics systems, Primordia is the sound of the young dub Padawan reveling in the endless possibilities of modular software synthesis, and relishing each and every new discovery and mistake along the way.

Re-released on CD and for the first on lavish double vinyl with remastering by long time friend and cohort Stefan Betke aka Pole, Primordia is an essential cornerstone in Monteith's now vast catalog, and a must have addition to the collection of any serious dub techno historian.

Cocoon Recordings is back in full force with the follow up to last year's superb vinyl compilation 'Dots & Pearls'. Providing a tracklisting that is nothing less than the modern interpretation of House, Techno and Tech-House 'Dots & Pearls II' eschews monotonous loops and predictable formulas and rather delivers a selection packed with energy and depth. Ilario Alicante and Todd Bodine have the honour of opening the record and very much set the tone for the feel of the album. 'Modern Apocalypse' gives the impression that the duo wanted to produce a matching track to follow up Ambivalent's 'Iwato' in a DJ set. The record has a wonderfully stripped and spacious feel to it, conjuring up an early hours feel with its entrancing effect and stabs plucking at the air around you. Next up we have Subb-an feat. Jacob Phono with 'In The Night' a track that explores how the sound and atmosphere of big 90s Techno acts like Underworld can be transferred into our contemporary Minimal and Deep House universe, a task in which they succeeded brilliantly. Resonant beats and percussions, some 808 claps, funky fills and filtered layers match perfectly with the hypnotic vocals and form an impressing overall result that fits into the DJ's set at any time during the night. Mark Reeve's contribution 'Carry Me' springs from typically Reeve-like UK-influenced House sounds. Softly filtered layers and cool vocal elements provide the right mood, and the long build-up with much patience and even more emotion makes 'Carry Me' one of the best and deepest British Tech House tracks in recent times, a certain winner for fans of 20:20 Vision and Global Communication.

on the flip is a really experimental apporach to the original, trcky rythms and he managed to

Beside, they founded Amazing Records, which served as a canvas for their creativity and that spawned the career of several new upcoming young talents. Once again, they are doin' things here their own way: uncompromising, by themselves, without asking anyone. Always looking forward, they keep the spark that brought them where they are now. Their hunger for new visions and new sounds has lead them to experiment and to reinvent themselves: the minimal years are strong and rooted in their history, and now it's time to move on. A1 Bassline, comes with a new release on his own imprint Source Unknwn, Slur b/w Slingback.
His latest release "Why Do You" out on Claude Von Stroke's DirtyBird, following the huge success of the "Buoyancy/Falsehood" EP
on the same label, both releases were met with glowing reviews.
His musical aspirations originate from genres such as garage, and drum and bass. He was a regular attendee of "Technicality", a
forward thinking club night paying homage to the metalheadz blu note night. Along with A1, Ben UFO, Fold, Breakage were a
regulars. Although he makes music under the house banner, you can clearly hear these influences in all of his own material. Essex
born, but growing up in south Croydon, he would frequent record shops such as the legendary Big Apple, Swag and secondhand
store Beanos, buying garage, grime and drum and bass records.
Having had his first 12" release at the age of 17, things have certainly come a long way, since then having numerous singles out and
touring the world. His sound has progressed over the last few years to something he is more content with now. His latest few releases
have been played by top DJs across the board leading him proudly to the signature of DirtyBird and now on to his own label,
although further releases are planned for DirtyBird, Pets Recordings and others.
With a run of great reviews and support from Dj Mag, iDJ, Fact, Knowledge, Resident Advisor..... and Dj support from a number of
big names from Radio 1, XFM, Rinse FM and many more. 2012 is looking like a good year for A1 Bassline ,with plenty of new material
in the pipeline.
"My new label, Sourceunknwn gives me the freedom on writing music with no boundaries, i don't really aim to go for a certain sound
with it its more of a platform to not be restricted with the music I make. A lot of things can inspire me, either with a whole vibe of a
song or even with a certain process of a kick drum that can excite me to get behind my computer. Its almost impossible to hear
something original but I think by merging different genres creates something new and interesting, I think thats what keeps music
interesting and progresses it.
Although I have releases on Dirtybird and future releases on Pets i try not to make records just for the sound of that label but it does
cross my mind, I'm really happy to be a part of their crew, haven't met a more down to earth set of people in the business."

The last time Patrick Vano appeared on Mo's Ferry was a remix for Jedi Jet in the beginning of 2013. And the new year seems to be a changing point in his career. Before that Patrick released under his nickname Peddy, which is - to be honest - no longer appropriate. The latest productions show that he's grown out of his bedroom studio and local DJ residencies. It's time to take the next step. Under his moniker Patrick Vano he's got his first full-length album - The Other Side Of Me' coming up in a few weeks. The current 4-tracker gives an insight into what's going to be expected. Dapayk puts his stamp on the EP with a distinctive remix. He's absolutely convinced that Patrick Vano will forge his own path.

Swan Lake shows with finesse his staggering skills to craft cinematographic atmospheres in danceable patterns, bending musical styles and constantly reminding us that club music can be so much more. Both sides share the same classical-inspired background while still being quite different in mood and lightness. Striking at 14 minutes each, the progression on these tracks remain sophisticated and visionary, messing with your head and heart in unexpected ways. 'Swan Lake' is a delicate yet striking piece, with a precise yet unusual drum-programming and intelligent classical-music sampling. The flip-side 'Eternal Sunshine' is a darker toned track, with slight-flashes of acid in it's core bass-line and ever-lifting tense chords that unexpectedly rumble between the intense atmosphere and lift both your body and soul. Artwork was handpainted by designer Max Binski, Pluie/Noir's curator and art director.
