more than 1 year has gone since the last release on spielzeug records !!! for the re-start we have a great minimal techno record by thomas schumacher himself !!!

For our seventh release we are happy to have on board one of the new discovering underground house producers of the globe. Crocodile Soup delights us with one special track spiced with a remix from one of the men behind Cellaa Music, Sven Jaeger.

Crocodile Soup takes the A-Side with the track "Fearful Symmetry" a classic deep Tune that exudes style, including a fantastic drive and purpose. Crocodile Soup creates a straight but deep house number with an absorbing bassline, evolving pads and drums. Famous for his structural build ups, satisfying break downs and unabashed driving beats.

On the flip, Sven Jaeger creates a trippy and subtle reinterpretation of the Original but still retains the catchy flavor in a way he only knows how to do it. He picks up the pace to create a more techier focused version of the Track.

In den meisten Fällen hört man es nicht gerne wenn in Pressetexten das Release als "das Beste aller Zeiten des Künstlers" angekündigt wird. Meist hat dies den faden Beigeschmack einer gelangweilten Promoagentur oder eines Albums das einer großen Überschrift bedarf. Im Falle der neuen 12" von Dominik Eulberg liegen die Umstände etwas anders. Nach einem richtig erfolgreichen Album (Diorama), das dem grauen Techno Alltag den Kampf angesagt hat, ist das neue Erzeugnis von Dominik etwas völlig eigenständiges und grandioses. Es ist autark von Trends wie melodischem Techno, manipuliertem garstigem Glitch Techno oder Deep House. Zwar beruht die EP auf dem genialen Klang des Albums, die Musikalität dessen wurde allerdings erweitert um eine hedonistische Dimension, eine große Portion Phantasie und nicht zuletzt um ein großes Stück Eulbergschem Humor. Wir beginnen mit dem Stück "Offenbach", eine Titelgebung der wir sonst im Eulbergschen Kosmos nicht begegnen, die zu einfach zu sein scheint, aber beim zweiten Hinschauen dem frechen Naturell Dominiks Genialität bescheinigt. Die Musik zu "Offenbach" installiert direkt nach wenigen Sekunden ein kollektives Gefühl und ist darin einmalig. Seine optimistische und direkten Art ist einfach sympathisch. Perkussive Rhytmuselemente sind derart lässig als wollten sie einem mit Freude ein Handtuch ins Gesicht schlagen. Ja so kann man sich auch unter Freunden begrüßen denkt man und wundert sich. Dominik erschafft diese seltsamen und bizarren Soundlandschaften, die von der Stimmung euphorisch aber auch melancholisch eingefärbt sind, und bringt dies in einer Form von kindlicher Verwunderung zum Ausdruck, als ob diese zum ersten mal für sich etwas entdecken. Es scheint als ob Dominik seine eigene Sprache, mit einer unberechenbaren Art von Spontanität entwickelt und das bei aller Form von Bizarrheit und dennoch meinen alle Hörer zu verstehen um was es hier geht. "Offenbach" ist ein absolutes Highlight im Eulbergschen Kosmos und nicht zuletzt 100%ig DJ kompatibel.

Steve Bug finally returns to Ovum after his 2004 breakthrough Houze EP. Hard to believe it has been 6 years, but during that time Steve has cemented himself as one of the top DJ/Producers in the world. For the A side, Steve brings us My Sweet Vital Angel which is a rocking straight up house jam. Great use of vocal sample here and one that will blow up any primetime set. This has been a secret weapon for Wink all summer. The flipside As It Was shows Steve's techier side. A perfect track for the likes of Panorama Bar or the Womb in Tokyo. Once again Steve shows how minimal can be maximal!

After the overwhelming success of the first release, the Climat collective returns again with another seasonal inspired release named Primavera, featuring the works of Pheek. Known for his lyrical and hypnotic pad use, Pheek throws in the first track Hyperpad as an opener. The track itself is unsynchronized melody, as a complex pachelbel effect of percussive sounds layered over melancholic melody. The result is a very eary but reassuring, warm atmosphere. The b-side is a collaborative effort with Stephen Vitiello, a sound design artist known for his works on 12k and Subrosa, as well as artists Andrew Deutsch and Sawako from Japan. Textures are rearranged by Pheek who sculpt half dreamy, half dancy moments of pure delight.

After being wowed by Christian Smith's superb remix of Carl Craig's 'At Les' the legendary Underworld listed it as one of their tunes of 2010 thereby planting a seed in the veteran producers mind.

A mutual appreciation and the aforementioned events have resulted in Smith's biggest remix yet - the reworking of Underworld's seminal 'Dark & Long'.

Coming in two versions, both of which have won immense support from the band themselves, the Christian Smith remixes of 'Dark & Long' take the track in to new territories respectfully and skilfully.

The Tronic Treatment mix preserves the vibe of the original perfectly while adding a condensed but slow burning feeling of tension which explodes into the epic break we all know and love.

The Hypnotica dub version underpins Karl Hydes classic vocal refrain and the rich synths of the original with an ever-changing, guttural monster of a bassline that adds a whole load of understated aggression without ever taking over the wonderful melodies.

The first lady of Klasse Recordings returns after her stunning debut hit the shelves early last year. Johanna Knutsson's second release for Klasse runs a little deeper than the first, showing another mood and style altogether....the release features remixes from Sacha Robotti and Esther Duijn (Duijn & Douglas).

Groove Support builds foundations from a skippy beat and deep pads, with vocal phrases and a solid bassline. The track evolves into a breakdown and returns with piano stabs and added percussion, pushing the energy forward until a final breakdown with extra rhodes stabs comes into play.

Sacha Robotti takes Groove Support down a different path, taking the pads and working them out with FX and techy percussion. Mr. Robotti finesses the track with his trademark reverb patterns and builds the track to a storming bassline breakdown....this is easily one of Sacha's finest pieces of work.

Dub Support on the flip is a darker and dubbier trip through Johanna's style, 808 and 909 drums fight for space over an angry bassline whilst steel drums and masked FX provide the atmosphere.

Dutch producer Esther Duijn (Dujin & Douglas) turns in a remix of Dub Support that sounds like it has been submersed deep underwater. The track saunters along slowly, making great use of filtered synth lines and swirling percussion, making for a more laidback interpretation.

Young producer Dennis White, a.k.a. ThermalBear, release's his single "U Love" via Sasha's imprint, Last Night On Earth. The single features vocals from Maiday and some cleverly programmed dubby breaks and haunting synths. Sasha provides a deeper take on the original with his own remix.

There are few things more tedious than reading DJ / Producer biographies. Yes we get it, you listened to Kraftwerk when you were in diapers and you were interested in computing/electronics during your formative years. Thing is, nobody really cares apart from a few of your kindred spirits; who are also vomming out biographies in their spare time...
Keeping that in mind, there is absolutely no reason for you to be reading this biog. There is no interesting back story to ThermalBear, no character arc, no battle against adversity. In fact, what it amounts to is that after many years of consistently underperforming, finally he has managed to get himself out of bed long enough to fart about with his computer for a bit.

Following the coup of the EP 'Trauriger Sonntag' (Sad Sunday - SDR029), 'Zucker and Salt' (SDR030) will now be the new stroke. Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner created this one in collaboration with our friends from Paris: Sucré Salé. Both duos have been friends with each other over quite a while yet, but are coming together for the first time to create an amazing piece of music. The base for the song was provided by Sucré Salé with their sound of 'Bye Bye'. This exotic quartet turned it into a grandiose remix accompanied by gentle, bitter and joyful sounds that are delivering the sad feelings of a farewell, but on the contrary already transferring feelings of anticipation as for the next reunion.

Young UK producer and Galdoors co-owner Junes offers up these mesmeric, broken house cuts for his debut release, supported by a remix from Until My Heart Stops boss, Leif. On the A side, Colours' jagged looped sample provides the backdrop for a bouncing, flowing drum workout. Leif's remix gives the hypnotism a new flavour - wayward highs slide around a locked-in groove, while a lush chord bursts through creating a sublime tension. Platform's loopy atmospherics, marching hats and throbbing bass drum guide the listener on a hypnotic trip through the womb of deep house.
