Following his last solo release on Editions Mego in 2010 'A Handful of Automation', Robin Fox returns with 'A Small Prometheus', a significant new work which exposes a very different audio world to that previously encountered. In the intervening period Fox has been highly active with his widely acclaimed RGB (red, green, blue) laser show along with a recent collaboration with Atom (tm): 'Double Vision' which premiered at Unsound festival in 2014. 'A Small Prometheus' was developed as a soundtrack to a dance work of the same name co-created with Australian choreographer Stephanie Lake. The outline here was to explore the themes of combustion and heat dissipating in various physical systems.. Greatly extending the language of his creative output Fox constructs a synthesis of electronic and acoustic sources creating a deeply nuanced excursion through space and time, timbre and texture. There is a subtle intensity to the works here, 'A Pound of Flesh' is an industrial strength spiralling drone, intoxicating, disorientating, 'Antlers' takes the listener on an eleven minute ride through a vortex of pulsing and swirling electronics whilst the title track is an unnerving combination of distressed field recordings, closed mic'd crackle and a foreboding distant pulse. 'Through Sky' starts out with a slow menacing rhythmic backbone which hosts an arsenal of small sounds until a certain wind supplants all in an admirable and somewhat haunted exchange.
With it's combination of vast caverns, spiraling counterflows and microscopic investigations Fox has opened up a new world of sound in his personally trajectory and one most unlike others existing anywhere in the present day.

Philip Jeck studied visual art at Dartington College of Arts. He started working with record players and electronics in the early '80's and has made soundtracks and toured with many dance and theatre companies as well as his solo concert work. His best known work "Vinyl Requiem" (with Lol Sargent): a performance for 180 '50's/'60's record players won Time Out Performance Award for 1993. He has also over the last few years returned to visual art making installations using from 6 to 80 record players including "Off The Record" for Sonic Boom at The Hayward Gallery, London [2000]. In 2010 Philip won The Paul Hamlyn Foundation Composers Award.
Philip Jeck works with old records and record players salvaged from junk shops turning them to his own purposes. He really does play them as musical instruments, creating an intensely personal language that evolves with each added part of a record. Philip Jeck makes geniunely moving and transfixing music, where we hear the art not the gimmick.

Les Disques du Crepuscule presents an expanded edition of classic festive album Ghosts of Christmas Past, featuring favourites from the original 1981 and 1982 editions now joined by newer tracks by Crepuscule artists.
Sometimes witty, sometimes melancholic, the original version of Ghosts of Christmas Past in November 1981 featured exclusive contributions from luminaries such as Tuxedomoon, The Durutti Column, Paul Haig, Michael Nyman, Aztec Camera, Thick Pigeon and The Names. Subsequent editions in 1982 and 1986 added songs by Antena, Mikado, The French Impressionists, Pale Fountains and Winston Tong.
For this new double CD version in 2015 Crepuscule have now added more chantons noel by Blaine L. Reininger, Section 25, The Wake, Marsheaux, Deux Filles, Stanton Miranda, Virna Lindt, B Music and Ultramarine.

Repulsion finds Toronto post-punks Greys evolving yet again. Where their debut full length, If Anything, had the band maniacally bludgeoning the listener with cacophonous noise and gingerly placed hooks, this new EP sees the young four-piece stretching their muscles. They experiment with dynamics and embrace melody, while still retaining their knack for raucous squalls of guitar feedback. Greys take their time scraping the needle over these seven inches of wax, expanding upon the ephemeral, ethereal moments found on its predecessor.
"We wanted to take ourselves out of our comfort zone," says singer-guitarist Shehzaad Jiwani. "It's still the same ingredients, but we've recontextualized every- thing so that these songs aren't just a continuation of If Anything." The change of scenery came with the band traveling to Montreal to record at esteemed studio Hotel2Tango with Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor), which gave Repul- sion its more spacious, analog sound. Lead single "I'd Hate To Be An Actor," mixed by Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Holy Fuck), eschews the band's usual breakneck speed for a slow, churning dirge, with Jiwani's tranquilized voice sitting somewhere between modern day Michael Gira and vintage Jason Pierce.
Elsewhere, album closer "Nothing Means Anything" (mixed by the band's longtime producer Mike Rocha) launches a motorik beat by Braeden Craig through Cam Graham's guitar swells and Colin Gillespie's syncopated basslines, with playfully sarcastic lyrics evoking Blur's "Parklife" by way of Courtney Barnett. That all of this creative growth happens in under ten minutes is a testament to Greys' devotion to song wrting over noisemaking. Not only are they unwilling to repeat themselves—they demand your attention every step of the way.

Long awaited release by 80's French/UK band Fleur Du Mal. FDM came on the scene in the early 80's playing many shows and steadily making a name for themselves before disbanding. Though they came around during a time when New Wave was dominating the charts their music is definitely influenced by the more post punk sound. There is no better time for this release to surface with the rise in popularity of current and classic post punk. This will sure to be a great addition to those seeking the bands that were around more than 30 years ago making this sound. These recordings have been unearthed and are now making it to vinyl. FDM's sound is 80's nouveau wave with female vocals that are danceable and harmonizing with pounding post punk elements in the guitars and drums that will make this a definite dance floor classic.

THE STRAWBERRY JAM is a rather fresh UK band and this album is their debut from 2007, but you can only tell this from the rather clear basic sound. The first three songs have a quite earthy feel and go from utterly cool country garage rock hybrids to proto-punkish eruptions, all in the first ten minutes. You are tempted to put a label on this band right away, filed under garage rock music due to its lovely late 60s feeling. There is a savage lead guitar on the first few songs, making them a great joy to listen to. However, there is much more to discover. 'Alice D', 'I Like You The Most' and 'Alice D Reprise' take the turn from the down-to-earth, fuzzed-out US garage rock to a rather British psychedelic pop with a slightly giddy expression. You could find this kind of stuff on some early records from the London Underground and Canterbury Scene. The more laid back and folkish psychedelic sound and the weird humorous pieces stay with us for a while until THE STRAWBERRY JAM find themselves slipping through a time hole which leads from early 1967 to the summer of 1969. 'I Don't Want To Make You Mine' is a straight blues rock stomper with a typical British blues approach you would expect to hear from bands such as SAVOY BROWN or TEN YEARS AFTER. Some more beautiful hippie folk follows in its veins and an epic psychedelic pop tune ends a very colourful and captivating album. You know and hear that it is a modern day effort since this bandwidth of styles and sounds would have been a bit too far out for an original sixties audience. The step back from 1969 to 1968 on the last two tracks is definitely a great choice. The closing track "Dragon Seed" is a laid back epic with ever drifting rhythmic pulsations and a wicked swirl of sounds which, by its end, gets you lifted above all that people consider reality and frees your mind. A few moments of free form experiments close this retrospective but joyful album. From THE SEEDS to THE MC 5 to THE BEATLES to TOMORROW and TWINK and more... you'll find it all in here! This is a great soundtrack for a summer trip!

For Spanish pop-punk trio Aliment, life in the band took on a pace nearly as fast as their high octane, energy-filled music. Just a few months after they formed, they were the talk of the town and they didn't let up - continuing to churn out songs as if the world was going to end.
In just two years they went from their early demos, to the furious debut LP Holy Slap (La Castanya, 2012), with a split record with Furguson (La Castanya, 2011) and the Costa Brava seven inch (Discos Humeantes, 2012) in between. All of that in the midst of a flurry of shows, with hardly any time enough to catch a breath. However, they took things at a much easier pace in preparation for their second full-length, and after the Nightmare Girl seven inch (La Castanya, 2014) they are releasing Silverback almost three years after their debut LP.
The fact that they've cooked this record the 'slow food' way doesn't mean that the rpm is lower. The ten songs on the album still sound urgent and energetic, yet have grown weightier, possessing a sense of nocturnal abandon fueled by alcohol. Songs like 'No Fuzz' or 'Razors' remind us of the Aliment that fans love and cherish, but songs such as 'My filthy old soundays' or 'Moving Mountains' represent a new version of the band. Tougher, more compact and even, perhaps, more grown-up, they sound similar to The Marked Men or the melodic power pop sensibility of a much heavier Pointed Sticks. With Silverback they even dare to introduce vocal changes, being more comfortable in lower registers than ever before, which brings them closer to the canons of classic punk rock without veering away from more contemporary influences such as Jay Reatard, Carbonas or Bad Sports. Like all these bands, Aliment feel most comfortable on the poppier side of punk.
Whilst a lot of things have changed, the essence is still there; just like the damn Costa Brava is still there or whiskey and coke is still there. Silverback is faithful to the band's nature, raging yet happy punk-pop wrapped in lyrics about the good and the bad in human relationships. They combine a frenetic and noisy wall of sound with the need to live, sing along and make us dance - with our fists in the air.

RIMBAUD is the outcome of an unexpected meeting of three outstanding personalities in the Polish music scene: saxophonist Mikolaj Trzaska, composer and producer Michal Jacaszek and the punk-rock legend Tomasz Budzynski.
The music on the record isa captivating mixof free-jazz, electronica and punk. These three personalities - three vectors - create three distinct dynamics, each element following its own trajectory. However, with all their various means of expression and styles they manage to create a structure full of trance and surprise. And this combination of improvisation, electronica and vocal experiment may prove to be the greatest artistic sensation on the Polish music scene in 2015.
RIMBAUD is a musical response to the visionary works of the French poet. Intense, rapid and colourful images of Arthur Rimbaud have provoked the artists to search for sonic equivalents of the endless spaces, intimate whispers, obsessive repetitions, and the destructive force of sea waves. Michal Jacaszek
A composer and producer of electro-acoustic music, author of soundtracks for film and theater. His debut album in 2004, Lo-fi Stories, was released by Gusstaff records. Jacaszek has developed unconventional methods of sampling, using archaic recordings and field-recording, drawing inspiration from classical music - from Baroque to contemporary avant-garde. A self-proclaimed romantic.
Mikolaj Trzaska
Saxophonist and bass clarinetist, co-founder of the legendary jazz mavericks Milosc, currently involved mainly in free jazz and improv. His regular projects include Shofar, Ircha, Ken Vandermark's Resonance tentet, Peter Brötzmann's North Quartet and the Riverloam tario co-created with British musicians Mark Sanders and Olie Brice. Trzaska is also a composer of music for theater and film (permanently cooperates with the famous Polish director Wojciech Smarzowski) and has a musical-literary project with the writer Andrzej Stasiuk.

Formed in 1981 by guitarist Scott 'Not' Ian and bassist Dan Lilker (later in Nuclear Assault, S.O.D., Brutal Truth), Anthrax is one of the pioneers of the thrash metal scene from the 80's, along with the ''rest of the 'Big Four': Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. This radio broadcast from Dallas' Z-rock radio station from July 1989 shows the band at the top, and features a great set of their early classics along with inspired cover of Sex Pistols and Judas Priest.

The second album from John Lydon's post-Sex Pistols group is widely considered to be their magnum opus. Combining such diverse influences as krautrock, dub, post-punk, and the avant-garde, Second Edition is four sides of harsh and uncompromising, yet danceable, music. While not the immediate influence and sensation that Never Mind The Bullocks was, this record is certainly John Lydon's finest artistic achievement. Originally released in the UK as Metal Box this is the first vinyl reissue of the US version of the album with its different running order. Clear vinyl double LP in a deluxe gatefold package.

Richard Hell's place in the annals of music history would be assured if all he did was be in the first rock band to play at CBGB's, but his long list of accomplishments extends far beyond merely that. Often credited with devising the standard punk rock look of spiked hair, drawn-on shirts, and safety pins, (A look that producer Malcolm McLaren would co-opt for the Sex Pistols) Hell's raucuous musicianship can be heard with innovative early punk groups like Television, Neon Boys, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, and his own solo project Richard Hell & The Voidoids. (Which had over the years featured the likes of guitarist Robert Quine, Marc Bell of The Ramones, Jody Harris of The Contortions, and numerous others in its lineup.)In 1977 the band released their full-length debut on Sire Records, titled Blank Generation, after a novel that Hell had been working on that the time. While the album was not a major commercial hit, it was a revelation among rock critics, and received widespread praise. The combination of Hell's arty, philosophical lyrics, alongside Quine's virtuostic guitar work, laid out a solid blueprint of the punk rock movement, and dubbed the Voidoids as one of the definitive bands of the New York music scene of the time. Blank Generation's nihilistic message was a key inspiration for UK punk anthems like Sex Pistols' "Anarchy In The UK", The Clash's "London's Burning", and others, and would also go on to influence groups like Sonic Youth and Minutemen.

freq_out has been a musical project since 2003 when Carl Michael von Hausswolff was invited to Copenhagen to invent a new concept for and install a sound-art installation. He divided up the audible sonic register into twelve parts and asked twelve artists, musicians, composers and architects to each accept one of the twelve parts and compose a sonic piece from it. The result became twelve compositions/art works that were simultaneously played on twelve different sound systems in the art space of Charlottenborg and by this becoming one piece.
During the following years freq_out has also been installed in the cities of Oslo, Berlin, Paris, Budapest, Chiang Mai, Kortrijk, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Marrakech.
The work is up and running in the entrance garden at the Skandion Clinique - a new hospital for cancer treatment inaugurated in May this year (2015) - in Uppsala, Sweden. It's accessible 24/7 and anyone that comes by the place can enjoy the work.

Be With Records are honoured to present the hyper-limited (200 for the world) farewell single from cult Balearic maestros Korallreven. We've been enormous fans since the beginning so we are delighted to be collaborating on this special release. As per the band's specific wishes, we have created a special one-sided, full colour 7" flexi-disc. Over to the guys themselves for their parting words:
"It has been a trippie trip, sort of a dream come true, sort of a dream become shattered. Kinda incredible how Korallreven, with this weird name in Swedish, snowballed from bedroom recordings in Stockholm into a headline US tour, festivals around Europe, amazing collaborations and all this love we have felt from all around. It's been magic. But there is a time for everything and an end to everything too, also with Korallreven.
So, enjoy this single, as you would the last drop of fresh water in the jungle. It sort of underlines exactly everything we wanted to do from the beginning but never yet achieved. Lifelovingness, big words and melancholy in three and a half minutes, for the last time.

From Stanwell, in Middlesex Action Pact's singer George Cheex was 15 years old when their first single 'Heathrow Touchdown' was released, in October 1981. Two of the band's contributions to the EP, "London Bouncers" and "All Purpose Action Footwear", got the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel. He played the single many times and wanted the band to record their first session, which they did on 22 February 1982.[1] They recorded "People", "Suicide Bag", "Mindless Aggression", "Losers", and "Cowslick Blues". The resulting demo tape caught the attention of the fledgling label Fall Out Records, which signed the band as the first act on its roster. !Action Pact!'s label debut, the Suicide Bag EP, was released in July 1982 and rocketed to the top of the British punk chart. Limited to 500 copies, this retrospective on one of the hidden gems of early british punk is a must-have. Comes complete with 8 pages 30x30cm booklet with pictures and liner notes.

2010 in Esslingen bei Stuttgart als noisiges Lo-Fi-Duo gegründet, inzwischen zum Postpunk-Noise-Rock-Trio
mit Hang zur Düsternis und Faible für deutschsprachige Texte gewachsen: Die Nerven alias Julian Knoth
(Gesang, Bass), Max Rieger (Gesang, Gitarre) und Kevin Kuhn (Schlagzeug). Auf deren Konto geht das 2014
veröffentlichte Album "Fun", das Jan Wigger bei "Spiegel Online" als "eine der wichtigsten und besten
deutschsprachigen Platten dieses Jahrzehnts" bezeichnete. Mit dem Stempel Punk kommt man vielleicht der
Energie und Haltung des Trios nahe, der musikalischen Umsetzung jedoch nicht annähernd. Sind Die Nerven
eine Punkband, Speerspitzen eines 80er-Revivals oder die Hoffnung des Postpunk Der Band selbst ist das
"scheißegal", hier möchte niemand Teil einer Jugendbewegung sein. Was zählt, ist der künstlerische
Ausdruck. Der hört aktuell auf den Titel "Out", erscheint bei Glitterhouse und wird nicht nur Freunden von
Mission Of Burma, Wipers, Bauhaus, Swans, Abwärts, Sonic Youth, Fehlfarben, frühen Blumfeld, Helmet
oder Mudhoney gefallen. Sondern einfach allen, die es gerne intensiv, schartig, laut und aufbegehrend
mögen. Meisterwerk!

Recorded in 1986 but unreleased until now, Hammer is an electropop record underpinned by an industrial baseline and metallic percussion. The band recorded the track using metal workshop implements, on a cheap Yamaha keyboard with an attached microphone.

Simon Scott (b. 1971) is a British multi-instrumentalist who is currently based in Cambridge, UK. Insomni is his fourth album and his debut for Ash International and is published by Touch. His music is a fusion of digital signal manipulation combined with an aesthetic of compositional collaboration with environmental sounds and organic acoustic textures. He is inspired by his interests in sound ecology, music technology, the natural world, illustration, photography, composition and sonic art.
Below Sea Level, originally presented live in quadraphonic sound, was released on TOUCHLINE in March 2015, after 12k originally released the album in 2012 as an 80-page journal and seven track CD. It explores the aesthetics of active listening, sound ecology and the subjective distinction of compositional materials and sound timbres. Critically applauded for creating juxtapositions of analogue and digital timbres, the man-made and natural world sounds, captured in his local sunken landscape of The Fens in East Anglia, create a fusion of digital signal manipulation combined with organic acoustic textures.
Since the late 1990's Scott's solo work has been featured in a variety of international films, sonic art exhibitions, dance productions, television productions and digital multi-media projects.
He has toured worldwide since 1988 and he is the drummer for UK band Slowdive, who worked with Brian Eno on 1993 'Souvlaki ' album. His track "Für Betty" was included on the German label Kompakt's 'Pop Ambient' (2014) compilation series and his solo music has also been previously released on recording labels 12k, Morr Music, Miasmah, Sonic Pieces and Ghostly International.
Scott is also a freelance composer and sound recordist for film and television and recently appeared on the BBC program 'Springwatch Unsprung' recording aquatic wildlife and discussing his work with presenter Chris Packham. He has taught Music Technology and sound recording in Cambridgeshire and lectured at Cambridge University.
In 2008 he established the KESH recording label, releasing global artists audio and visual projects and he has also collaborated on various projects with Taylor Deupree, Nils Frahm, Machinefabriek, The Sight Below, Isan and James Blackshaw.

September 2015 will see the release of Thighpaulsandra's 7th full length album "The Golden Communion", his first since 2006's "The Lepore Extrusion". Well over a decade in the making, this is his debut for Editions Mego. It comprises 10 new songs, running well over two hours with individual pieces clocking in between 4 and 28 minutes. Featured musicians on the album include regular collaborators Martin Schellard and Sion Orgon, plus the odd guest/ghost from bands Thighpaulsandra has worked with in the past.
If you have heard any of Thighpaulsandra's previous albums, you will know that you'd best approach this record with no fixed set of expectations, because once again he changes genres and defies easy classification, sometimes more than once within one song. Drawing on his long-time background as a key member in such diverse groups as Coil, Spiritualized and Julian Cope's band (in each case arguably at the height of their creative prowess) and his work as producer and sound engineer for an even larger variety of customers, you'll find classical passages next to hard rock riffing, krauty experimental work-outs turning into super catchy, almost radio-friendly songs and more.
Many adjectives have been used to describe Thighpaulsandra's work: epic, challenging, timeless, idiosyncratic, but certainly never predictable or boring.
Possibly his most rewarding album yet and a welcome and unusual entry, in the Mego catalogue, which will entertain and astonish listeners who are fond of having their mind severely altered by sound.

Peripheral Minimal is proud to announce the forthcoming 12" E.P., 'Mithra' by Philippe Laurent. 4-tracks of minimalist synth, that encompasses Kraftwerk style techno beats and electro dance rhythms that stay resolutely original, maintaining a subtlety of sound many contemporaries fail to capture. Complex electronic noises create a density, whilst synthetic almost robotic vocalisations filter into the sound-scape. The 12" will be limited to 500 copies and pressed onto grey vinyl.
Philippe Laurent is a plastic artist, musician and designer having been active since 1980. Whether working with graphic codes or digital codes, plastic arts or music, Laurent's approach is one of research, specifically having to do with people's perception of signs and symbols. As a multi-media artist, he has always been open to new technologies, whether he is composing musical works or creating graphic works.

Wiederveröffentlichung des zweiten The Fall Studio-Albums - ursprünglich 1979 erschienen. Das Vinyl ist 180g schwer und die Edition mit einer beigefügten CD versehen. Als Gegenentwurf zum Vorgänger "Live at the Witch Trials" ist die Produktion von "Dragnet" vom Klang deutlich unschärfer. Dies ist Absicht, denn mit den neu eingestiegenen Mitgliedern Gitarrist Craig Scanlon und Bassist Steve Hanley entwickelte man ein Klangbild, welches über mehre Alben halten sollte. Sich von den Stilmitteln des Punk lösend, bewegten sich The Fall fortan in ihrer Soundwelt. Etliche Stücke setzen sich inhaltlich mit der Musikindustrie auseinander, Sänger Mark E. Smith griff darüber hinaus jeden und alles an, aber auf so eloquente, wortreiche und eigenartige Weise, dass man ihn bald schon als den "James Joyce des Post-Punk" bezeichnet sollte.

London's Leaving Me is the fifth record by Nottingham, England's Lorna and finds the sextet offering another matchless collection of earnest, egoless indie-pop featuring the unmistakable voices of husband-and-wife songwriting team Mark Rolfe and Sharon Cohen-Rolfe. The nine-song album opens with "Like Alastair Sim" - a ballad in which gorgeous melodies steeped with heartfelt optimism unfold at a deliberate pace against a growing soundscape of strings, bells, and sparse electronics using the song's acclaimed Scottish actor namesake as its thematic guide. The single "Wayne Mills" follows with a summery blend of Scottish and indie-pop akin to Belle & Sebastian and Camera Obscura in which jangly guitars, analog synths, and languid, sun-soaked melodies are showcased as the Rolfes recount a tale about a neighborhood friend. The song features a guest appearance from Andy Mellon (Bellowhead, Damon Albarn) on trumpet. As a mid-album counterpoint to the densely orchestrated pop gems that precede and follow it, Lorna offers "Smothered In Hugs" - a stark interpretation of the 1994 Guided By Voices song in which an acoustic guitar anchors the Rolfe's richly textured vocals to create a marked contrast to the atonal low-fi buzz of the GBV original. London's Leaving Me closes with the Matt Harrison- (flute, guitar) penned "You, Me, and the Holy Ghost" - a reverie that captures Lorna's dual mastery of tunefulness and ambience as Sharon Cohen-Rolfe effortlessly coos melodies from the lips of Julee Cruise while patient, tremolo-infused guitars summon Angelo Badalamenti's work on Twin Peaks.

The Queers / Manges split from 2003 is back, only on blue vinyl LP, remastered by Justin Perkins. The Queers covered classics by Velvet Underground, Surfaris, Troggs, Helen Love and more. Awesome and unusual line up with Joe Queer, Dangerous Dave on bass and Dusty Watson (Dick Dale, Agent Orange, Sonics) on drums. The Manges from Italy covered a Cheap Trick hit and also delivered some of their own most popular tunes (Barrage Of Hate, I Don't Wanna Live In Hell) for the first time. This came out originally on Stardumb Records and Ammonia Records, back when cds were a great deal, and has been out of print for more than 10 years. Now Manges' own label Striped Records took care of this 500 copies limited edition, with new artwork and layout by Mass Mosrite. Digital download included.
