Supercar was the second Gerry Anderson show to use the Supermarionation technique. An impressive thirty-nine episodes were produced between 1961 and 1962, so Barry Gray had to produce the music fast and on a limited budget. He composed a series of themes for locations, situations and characters. The main star of the show, Supercar, is given the heroic theme, whilst the rest of the score veers between charmingly whimsical to support the dialogue and menacing when underlining the drama. The forty-piece orchestra was conducted by Gray himself.

Barry Gray was amongst the first composers to use electronic instruments in music for television. One such instrument was the Ondes Martenot, used to produce otherworldly musical motifs and fragments and later to create sound effects for Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.

Composer Hans Zimmer’s theme for Guy Ritchie’s new addition of the world’s most recognizable super-detective, Sherlock Holmes, is a massive and versatile piece of art. Like on his previous soundtrack for Sherlock he collaborated with Lorne Balfe and they’re bringing a lot of different time signatures and rhythms. Zimmer and his core musicians all with National Democratic Institute members, visited seven Roma villages to learn about the Roma people and “listen to as many musicians as we could.” Deeply impressed, Zimmer arranged for 13 of the Roma musicians with their violins and accordions to join him in Vienna at a studio for a recording session. The result is an impressive record with both the recognizable sound of Zimmer as new aspects in their music.

The Sun Makers (written by Robert Holmes) aired in November and December of 1977 with Tom Baker as the Doctor and is set on a tax-crippled planet Pluto. Along with trusty assistant Leela and faithful K9, he exposes the corrupt Company, defeating the Collector and freeing the population from financial misery.

Composer Dudley Simpson (1922-2017) wrote prolifically for the BBC, producing hundreds of soundtracks for Doctor Who, The Tomorrow People, Blake’s Seven and many others. The Sun Makers was scored for just six musicians and recorded, for the main part, live in the studio. However, such is the musicianship of the players, several of whom where multi-instrumentalists, the resulting sound is much bigger. The sleeve includes full notes by Mark Ayres.

First broadcast in February 1982, during Peter Davison’s tenure as The Doctor, The Visitation is set in 17th Century England at a time when an alien species called the Terileptils plot to make Earth their adopted home by spreading a deadly plague amongst humanity.
Radiophonic Workshop composer Paddy Kingsland was tasked with writing the music, with his colleague Dick Mills handling the electronic sound effects. Kingsland scored many classic series for TV and radio including “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, “The Changes” and Michael Palin’s travel shows “Around the World in 80 Days” and “Pole to Pole”. The BBC also released a dedicated album of his early signature tune work for the Radiophonic Workshop in 1973 entitled “The Fourth Dimension”.

Luz is a taxi driver who finds solace in the safety of a police station after escaping from the clutches of a woman possessed by a demon. The 1993 film Judgment Night was suburbia’s paranoid view of inner-city life, where the slightest misplaced step (such as trying to take a shortcut to a boxing match) has fateful, if not fatal, consequences. And what better music to accompany this middle-class nightmare than a hybrid of the music suburbanites seemed most afraid of; Rap and Rock.

The soundtrack to Judgment Night has had a lasting impact thanks to its ground breaking approach. The collaborations were put together by Happy Walters, who at the time managed Cypress Hill, House Of Pain and more, and was still getting his Immortal Records label off the ground.

With a track list that teamed Helmet with House Of Pain, Slayer with Ice-T, Faith No More with Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. and Pearl Jam with Cypress Hill, among others, the album represented a bold leap into a then fledgling genre that up until then had mostly been a collection of one-off singles.

It turned out to be quite a fruitful collaboration; while the film bombed, the soundtrack went gold. Judgment Night spawned four singles: Biohazard & Onyx’s “Judgment Night”, Helmet & House Of Pain’s “Just Another Victim”, Teenage Fanclub & De La Soul’s “Fallin” and Faith No More & Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E.’s “Another Body Murdered”. It also features that highly sought after collaboration between Pearl Jam & Cypress Hill and Ice-T and Slayer manage to thrash it out on an unsurpassed level!

From the team behind BBC’s critically acclaimed Sherlock came Dracula, the reimagining of the iconic titular vampire for a 21st Century audience. Composers David Arnold and Michael Price reunited with writers and creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, to breathe musical life into another famous literary character from Victorian times.

For Dracula, Arnold and Price conceived an innovative and petrifying score, in which traditional instruments and musique concrete merge with contemporary use of samples and sound design.

Scoring Dracula presented its own challenges and the composers have augmented the sound of the orchestra players by creating a library of sounds used throughout the score.



The series received rave views after its premiere on BBC in the New Year as is now available on Netflix.

Outlander is a historical drama television series based on the novel series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married former World War II nurse, finds herself in 1946 transported back to Scotland in 1743. Season Five plants roots, digging into themes of building community, forming civilization, expanding families, and forming allegiances. Just like the previous seasons the music is composed by American film and television composer Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Cloverfield, Black Sails). Inspired by the drama, he knew it was time to plant his own musical roots, and develop the colors and themes he already had. Like the drama itself, the music for Outlander Season Five stopped expanding outward into new territories, and instead planted roots. Though the score does not introduce any new sound this season, McCreary feels its developmental and emotional strengths make it as strong as anything he has written leading up to it.

From Alexander Payne, the creator of the Oscar-winning Sideways, set in Hawaii, The Descendants is a sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic journey for Matt King (George Clooney). An indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. The Descendants has no orchestral score. Instead, director Alexander Payne chose to fill his movie exclusively with music by Hawaii artists — much of it from existing recordings. Most of it created by acknowledged masters of the genre, both modern and classical Gabby Pahinui (known as “Father of Modern Slack Key Guitar”), Ray Kane, Keola Beamer, Lena Machado, and Rev. Dennis Kamakahi, among others. The filmmakers sought to make a movie with a distinctly Hawaiian flavor, and the music was a crucial component. As well as echoing the experience of watching the film, The Descendants soundtrack will reveal to listeners the soulful and emotional spectrum of Hawaiian music over the decades and serves as an eye-opening introduction to some of Hawaiian music’s greatest and most essential artists.

Sense and Sensibility is the original soundtrack of the 1995 film, composed by the Scottish composer Patrick Doyle. He was a friend of writer and actress Emma Thompson and had worked with her on many previous films. His musical score earned the composer his first nominations for the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music. Doyle later described the film as “more stifled; the music had to be suppressed to match what was happening onscreen. You had this middle-class English motif, and with the music you would have occasional outbursts of emotion”. The score also includes two songs sung by the character of Marianne Dashwood, which Doyle adapted from two poems.

This 25th anniversary edition is available as 1500 numbered copies on light green coloured vinyl. The package includes an insert.

Directed by David Robert Mitchell, the supernatural horror film It Follows tells the story of a teenager (Maika Monroe) who finds herself haunted by nightmarish visions and the inescapable sense that something menacing is after her. The film was met with much critical acclaim and established Monroe as the movie industry’s newest “scream queen”.

It Follows features a stunning, electronic-driven score, heavy with pulsating synths and dread in equal measure. It was composed by the renowned musician Disasterpeace. This electro, 80s influenced score is a character in itself in the movie, and will haunt the listener long after the film has stopped rolling.

Band of Brothers is a 2001 American war drama HBO miniseries based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose’s 1992 non-fiction book of the same name. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the series tells the story of “Easy” Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, of the 101st Airborne Division, from their first jump training in the United States through their participation in major actions in Europe during World War II. The series received universal acclaim and went on to win many awards, including multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.

Music From The Star Wars Saga – The Essential Collection is an orchestral music compilation including tracks from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace until Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi. On the occasion of the release of the final episode of the nine-part Star Wars saga: The Rise Of Skywalker, all songs are re- recorded by Robert Ziegler, alongside the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra and members of the Slovak Philharmonic Choir. These includes the iconic Main Title composition, Duel Of The Fates, Yoda’s Theme and The Imperial March.

300: Rise of an Empire is a 2014 American epic action film written and produced by Zack Snyder and directed by Noam Murro. It is a sequel to the 2007 film 300, taking place before, during, and after the main events of that film, and is loosely based on the Battle of Artemisium and the Battle of Salamis.

Its score was created by Dutch DJ and composer Junkie XL. This was made possible because in 2013, Hans Zimmer became responsible for the creation of the score to Snyder’s Man of Steel, for which he asked Junkie XL to collaborate with him and Snyder loved the end result. The score to 300: Rise of an Empire was performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony, led by Nick-Glennie Smith. The vocals were provided by Hilda Örvarsdóttir and MC Rai. Junkie XL himself added the guitar, bass, drums, piano and synthesizer parts and mixed the full soundtrack at the Computer Hell Cabin studio.

Issued on limited edition blue vinyl is Max Richter’s emotive and minimal score to Damon Lindelof’s TV series about a post-apocalyptic global event where 2% of the world’s population disappears without explanation. Richter’s approach explores the feelings of the protagonist’s family, the Garveys, through intimate, small scale music. He tackles this psychological landscape by bringing a ritual quality to the score, while themes of departure and loss are represented by a sense of sonic decay, relying on the instrumentation of a few sustained tones on pianos, harps and celesta.
Max Richter is a classically trained composer that defies boundaries. Trained at the Royal Academy of Music and finishing his studies under the tutelage of avant-garde composer Luciano Berio in Florence, Richter’s career has followed many paths. His musical output ranges from ballets (Wayne MacGregor’s Infra), reinventions of classical works (Vivaldi’s Four Seasons), collaborations with The Future Sound Of London, Roni Size and Vashti Bunyan to writing scores for film and TV (Waltz With Bashir, Lost and Found, Last Days on Mars) and solo work (Memoryhouse, The Blue Notebooks, 24 Postcards In Full Colour).

Following on from our 2015 release of the original Shenmue score, we are proud to finally announce the debut vinyl release of its much-loved sequel, Shenmue II. A selection of beautiful and varied compositions, sourced and selected by SEGA’s Sound Team in Japan, that richly convey protagonist Ryo Hazuki’s journey across Hong Kong and beyond.

Hammer Films has long held a special place in the hearts of horror fans, defining the British genre during the 1950’s with classics such as Dracula and The Curse of Frankenstein. Composer James Bernard scored both and went on to compose the music to a host of horror films for Hammer during the Sixties and Seventies. His distinctive clashing harmonies, often doubling the musical theme a tone higher, raise the on-screen action to a frenzied pitch, terrifying 20th Century cinema goers to the degree that his scores have become synonymous with the titular monsters.

First appearing on TV screens in September 1968, Joe 90 was a unique nine year old boy with the ability to absorb the brain patterns of top experts

enabling him to become the most special agent of W.I.N. (World Intelligence Network).

Whilst there are arguably better-known scores amongst Barry Gray's sublime catalogue of work with the Andersons, the composer's work for Joe 90 is in many ways

the most consistent and inventive selection he ever wrote. Developing a theme for the new series was always the musician's starting point, and for Joe 90, the pop charts breezed into Gray's studio,

with an opening tune featuring a genuine groove. Mixing Gray's inventive electronics with 60s "surf rock" guitars was an inspired decision.

It is no wonder that this piece has gone on to enjoy a second life as a Northern Soul disco floor-filler.

For episodic incidentals, Gray was freed from the detached unearthly premise of Captain Scarlet and able to bring back a playful sensibility

and a more mature musical palette which are amply illustrated in this 24 track collection.

2020 saw the release of the critically acclaimed “Audrey”, a documentary film taking an intimate look at Audrey Hepburn’s life with access to never-before-seen footage from her family’s personal collection and produced by the multi award-winning team behind “McQueen” and “Churchill”.
The soundtrack was composed by Alex Somers, an American composer and producer who has written and collaborated on soundtracks including “We Bought A Zoo”, “How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy”, “Aloha”, “The Circle”, “Captain Fantastic”, “Shia LaBeouf's Honey Boy” and Taylor Swift's Netflix original documentary “Miss Americana”. His work was first noticed in 2009 with Riceboy Sleeps, his ambient album collaboration with partner Jónsi (Sigur Rós). Following “Riceboy Sleeps”, Alex co-produced Jónsi’s 2010 debut solo album “Go”. He then opened his own recording studio in Reykjavík where he co-produced and mixed Sigur Rós’ 2013 album “Valtari”, and continued to collaborate with artists Jónsi, Julianna Barwick, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Gyða Valtýsdóttir, Damien Rice, Amiina, Sin Fang, Briana Marela.

This album brings some of Hammer’s greatest music to vinyl for the first time. It’s an evocative and diverse collection of themes that are just as memorable as the remarkable films they accompanied. The soundtrack for one of the biggest Hollywood successes of the ‘80s, When Harry Met Sally consists of standards performed by singer and pianist Harry Connick, Jr., with a big band and orchestra arranged by Marc Shaiman.

The soundtrack album (which stands apart from the movie) was a big hit and a major step forward for the young pianist-vocalist. Connick warmly sings such numbers as “It Had to Be You,” “Our Love Is Here to Stay,” “But Not for Me,” and “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” while usually accompanied by bassist Benjamin Wolfe, drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts, and a big band. Frank Wess’ warm tenor makes a brief appearance on “Our Love Is Here to Stay.” In addition, there are a few melodic instrumentals, including some solo Connick piano on “Winter Wonderland” and “Autumn in New York.”

The performance of Connick on this wonderful soundtrack won him his first Grammy for Best Jazz Male Vocal Performance. The soundtrack went to #1 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart and was within the top 50 on the Billboard 200. Connick also toured North America in support of this album. It went on to reach double-platinum status.

The 30th anniversary “I’ll Have What She’s Having” edition is available as 1000 numbered copies on “Red Ketchup” coloured vinyl.

Ben Wallfisch has delivered an incredible muscular score for The Invisible Man, Mixing classical strings, synths & Industrial noise; it is both organic and synthetic, pummelling you one minute and barely there the next. Honestly, this hasn’t left my headphones since we were sent it. Wallfisch expands on the sonics of his IT scores and while there are inspiration and nods to Bernard Herrman in the urgency of the string section it feels contemporary and timeless. An astounding achievement.
