(glossy laminated) His deviant disco songs talk about love and the happiness it breeds, while letting the rage of a rather different-looking militant crooner go.
Cola Boyy, aka Matthew Urango, is a 28 year old musician, coming from Oxnard, California, discovered on the occasion of a concert in Los Angeles during June 2016.
Cola Boyy is an unusual and self-taught musician & singer. His very typical but natural voice is the consequence of a disability from birth.
His deviant disco songs talk about love and the happiness it breeds, while letting the rage of a rather different-looking militant crooner go.
Penny Girl is the soon-to-be 2018 disco hit telling the story of a crime of passion. Poetic as a McCartney's song, as effective on the dancefloor as a Patrice Rushen's tune, and fun like the Frankie Smith's Double Dutch Bus.
Have You Seen Her is the kraut-disco curiosity from the EP, halfway between the Ghetto Brothers' rage and the funkiness of a Kurtis Blow's instrumental. You will also find there a chorus made of extreme noisey guitar chords and a Michel Berger like piano solo, all swaying to the dancing beat.
Buggy Tip is the track that could have been in the hands of an eclectic DJ like Nicky Siano at Studio 54. Disco strings, catchy choruses to sing along... Cola Boyy turns the melancholic memories of an ex girlfriend into a banger to dance & shout in a hot late night club.
The whole EP, recorded between Los Angeles and Paris, produced by French producer 'nit', is a witness of his raw talent and the foretaste of an album coming in 2019.

September sees the 40th anniversary of Atlantic Records' biggest ever selling 7' single, Le Freak by CHIC, and with it the anniversary of their second album C'est CHIC. Both feature in our fantastic new box set, THE CHIC ORGANIZATION 1977-1979, due for release on 23rd November 2018.
Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards were the creative backbone of CHIC, and founded the band in New York City in 1976, bringing together music and fashion after being inspired by a Roxy Music concert in London. The band's first track "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" was picked up by Buddah Records in 1977 who, with the help of Jerry Greenberg at Atlantic Records, pressed up 1,000 promotional 12' records for radio and club play.
The band signed to Atlantic shortly thereafter and in the next two year period, they came to define late 70's Pop and Disco genres with unstoppable CHIC hits including 'Le Freak', 'Good Times', 'I Want Your Love', 'Everybody Dance', 'My Feet Keep Dancing", "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)", and 'My Forbidden Lover'.
Following the success of their debut album, Jerry Greenberg invited Nile and Bernard to try their hand at production in 1978. The result was another all-time classic Disco album - Sister Sledge's We Are Family, which yielded yet more of history's greatest Pop / Disco hits: 'He's The Greatest Dancer', 'We Are Family', and 'Lost In Music'.
THE CHIC ORGANIZATION 1977-1979 will be released on 6-disc half-speed mastered 180 gram vinyl, bringing together for the very first time Nile and Bernard's full 70's output, and features four albums, an exclusive bonus disc which compiles all the additional single-only 12' mixes and 7' edits. Exclusive to the vinyl box is a reissue of the Buddah Records 12' promo of "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)' which features the original mix of the track by Disco DJ Tom Savarese. The full box set contents are:
Disc 1: CHIC / CHIC (1977)
Disc 2: CHIC / C'est CHIC (1978)
Disc 3: Sister Sledge / We Are Family (1979)
Disc 4: CHIC / Risqué (1979)
Disc 5 (LP only): CHIC / Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) Buddah Records 12' promotional single
Disc 6: CHIC / Original '77-'79 Remixes & Edits (new and exclusive to the box sets)
The audio for THE CHIC ORGANIZATION 1977-1979 has been remastered from the original Atlantic stereo tapes by Miles Showell at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios in London, with Miles also overseeing the half-speed mastering for the vinyl. As executive producer for the reissue, Nile Rodgers has personally overseen all elements of the audio remastering process.
All original vinyl sleeve artwork is faithfully replicated. The set includes a booklet with brand new liner notes by esteemed US and UK music writers Touré and Paul Morley.

Now known as Zekkariyas and Zeriiya, partners Cecil and Linda Womack, two eminent members in an extensive lineage of music artistry (i.e. Bobby Womack was Zekkariyas' brother, Zeriiya is Sam Cooke's daughter) engaged in one of music history's most successful and exciting singing and song writing partnerships in the early 1980s.
Zeriiya says her process with Zekkariyas flowed like water, their shared complicity and talent led them to write and produce strings of chart topping hits and classic albums as Womack & Womack but also for other renowned artists of the time such as Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass and the O'Jays to only name a few.
The original version of Missin' Persons Bureau was first released in 1988 on 'Conscience' (Island Records), a classic album with impeccable instrumentation and thoughtful and relatable narratives that reflect on the nature of life, true friendship, love or in the case of MPB, it's subsequent loss.
Following the release of the LP, Island records founder Chris Blackwell introduced the idea of getting Missin' Persons Bureau reworked by House legend Frankie Knuckles and whilst the Womacks weren't originally set on the idea of having their songs remixed by other artists, Blackwell who Zeriiya describes as a 'record label manager seriously involved in making sure the project is what the creators really want it to be' had earned their trust.
With these remixes, Frankie managed to turn a radio hit into underground club classics. The Paradise Ballroom mix conserves the essence of the original, reinterpreting the rhythm section whilst drawing it out over 8 minutes, with expert tension building and release clearly aimed at the dance floor. The Folk Version presents a beatless interpretation of the Ballroom mix, focusing on the uplifting vocal arrangements and mesmerising guitar performance, truly beautiful!

The Arab world back in the 70s and 80s gave us quite a few very interesting rock and pop acts. Ahmed Fakroun from Libya was THE one of them. Here we have his 1983 album whose title means 'Love Words' in English. And in fact his kind of ethno pop seems to go deeper than just to the charts where a song like 'Soleil! Soleil!' - a typical yet outstanding synthie pop / new wave anthem that would have gone well with David Bowie or Duran Duran in the early 80s - definitely would have belonged. Other tunes are more Oriental with great string arrangements and those mystical melodies only Arab and Oriental music provides. It goes forth and back with these elements. 'Mots d'amour' is a rather colorful affair, when it comes to 80s pop music and within the fine arrangements you will find a lot of solid handcraft from the instrumental section. Whoever worked with Ahmed Fakroun in the studio during the album production shall be praised and blessed for his talent as well. All in all this is one of the lost gems of 80s pop music which fetches prices up to 500,00 Euros for a nearly mint copy today. So fans of cool 80s pop with a memorable edge are now able to grab a copy of this forgotten jewel. Compared to many European releases from that year, 'Mots d'Amour' can easily match up with all of them and has several outstanding evergreens on board. The sound is perfect for the time as well. So grab a copy of the reissue and make your dance party go crazy with this fascinating guy from Libya. Watch out for more fantastic releases of Ahmed Fakroun, published and distributed by PMG!

80s synthesizer pop meets soul and funk music from the 70s and this is a captivating musical cocktail. You can sit and listen, you
can dance or sing along to these perfectly produced tunes. The album is a typical product of it’s era but this also makes it a really
charming piece of music and the memorable songs were definitely meant to last with the listener.
The 1980s were a decade where synthesized music was a hip thing and all the handmade trademarks vanished from the scene.
Electronic pop was huge and the charts were blocked by an unspeakable number of productions. But as we all know, the music
industry and the whole business cannot be predicted, so despite being on par with the best acts from the electronic pop scene,
some projects just fell into obscurity right after having released what I would call a true masterpiece. „Mandroid“, the second
album by GIFT OF DREAMS is such a gem. Accessible and also memorable tunes with a long lasting effect on the listener invite
you to have a joyful time. The backing tracks are all made up by synthesizers and spread a spacey atmosphere from time to time
through some really enchanting melodies. There is a catchy beat with all the tracks here, that makes them perfect dancefloor
sweepers. Just in case people get to know them and this used to be a difficult effort due to the degree of rarity of the album. But
thanks to EVERLAND MUSIC this gap has been closed now and a beautiful reissue comes our way. This is synthie pop for sure,
but with a definite soul music expression coming from the powerful vocals. I mean, the album is a product of the time it has
been released. Overloaded with sounds from electronic devices it sounds like the musical vision of a thinking machine. But many
melodies are traditional blues and soul with a touch of funk, this cannot be denied. And each song is a little piece of art with so
many details in the arrangements on which the vocals ride. Futuristic soul music fort he 22nd century probably. Maybe the crew
of Spaceship Enterprise will one day dance to this in the crew lounge while heading for the furthest galaxies. GIFT OF DREAMS
do not stop before reggae elements and whatever they can add to their songs to make them unique. Actually this album should
have been topping the charts in 1983 and staying in the hearts of mankind as an evergreen for every 1980s party. A must have
for 80s synthesized pop fans.

A crown jewel of the US American soul music of the 1960s. The earthy production and vivid feeling makes this album way more tangible for fans of the genre than most polished and slick major productions. A true gem for all collectors of underground soul from the USA.
Oh, sweet soul music, you make my life so wonderful. Well, especially when I have the pleasure to rediscover long lost treasures from the late 60s soul music scene that were not the obvious albums by the obvious bands or artists like Four Tops and Marvin Gaye but appeared and fell under the radar despite the great quality of the songs. Now here we have Freddy Butler, a man with a smooth and soft, yet powerful voice that you will be able to recognize from a dozen or more soul singers oft he same era. A kind expression lies on his face when you look at him smiling from the cover of his sole album - With a dab of soul' released in 1967. Original mono copies of this gem already fetch 150 US$ or even more when they turn up in a more or less good shape. So it was time for a vinyl reissue and this comes from Dutch label Everland Records. And they dug out a vinyl treasure par excellance here. - With a dab of soul' is a jewel of Northern Soul or Street Soul far from the mainstream productions of the 1960s big labels that held most positions in the charts. It has this earthy feeling, a simmering atmosphere that highlights its authenticity. This man is for real and his music comes as honest as music can. For sure he offers sweet ballads, steaming dancers and thoughtful tunes with a certain pop appeal just as many of the mainstream acts also did but the vivid production that only focuses on the main instruments such as drums, bass, guitar, piano, blues harp and a sparingly used brass section with Mr. Butler's vocals upfront makes this feel like something real. Freddy Butler has this lush voice that pushes the songs with great emotions into the heart and soul of the listener. This power and his charisma make him an outstanding star at the sky of soul music but this album makes one thing crystal clear. Talent alone will not bring you fame and fortune. Being on par musically with all the big names will not get you to the top positions of the charts. We can only thank Everland Records for dragging this album by the long gone Freddy Butler back to the light. Soulfanatics who love a good mix of moods will certainly enjoy these tunes. Freddy Butler puts an emphasize on the song, the melody and the longevity of his works rather than just going for a hot blooded groove that stays with the listener as long as the song lasts. He wanted to create anthems for a generation to come and voilà, here we go. As good as everything the FOUR TOPS have ever put on vinyl, as good as BABY HUEY might have been if he just stayed with us for longer than just 26 years. These are songs so timeless that they will always sound fresh and vivid when you give this record a spin. And be sure, this album won't let you go with just the occasional round. You feel like one turn per side is not enough when you are in the mood for good soul music. There were even two 45s released from this album, - There was a time / This thing' and a promo 7' - That's when I needed you / Give me lots of lovin''. Just to mention that. Band and singer of course are top notch, musicians who really deserve the title. They play with passion and fire while staying precise at any moment. On top of the instrumental substructure you will find vocals with a great range and good variety of intensity levels. Freddy Butler was a crooner who could sing like a gentleman and be a savage the next moment. He always had the situation under control and knew to bring in the right emotion at the right time. They don't make them like this anymore. He should be listed with the greatest of his genre whenever people talk about soul music. And now go and buy your copy of this jewel.

A compelling slice of Canadian funk from the late 70s - a group and album who were inspired by the righteous power of James Brown's famous Payback album - but who come across here with a warmer, clubbier feel overall! There's a nice degree of boogie in the mix, but the overall approach is definitely funk - with bumping basslines underneath tight horns, including plenty of sweet Fred Wesley-styled trombone. Yet other club elements come into the mix too - keyboards and a bit of strings at times, which warm things up nicely alongside the tighter bottom rhythms - but always in a way that's still relatively funky overall. Most cuts have an instrumental focus - but there's also female chorus vocals on a number of tracks too - and titles include "Le Payback", "Struttin", "Feelin Good", "Funky Feelin", "The Forge", and "The Mad Mechanic".

Excellent production and musicianship can be witnessed on this 1979 release, while the songs all are on par with the best Donna Summer moments. Music to dance to and to enjoy and explore in depth!
Where were we in 79 when the dam began to burst Well, some of us were hanging out in the clubs to dance to smooth and sweet disco music with utterly cheerful melodies, slick and lush arrangements of brass and string sections over an ever pulsating rhythm section borrowing elements of funk and soul to create something new, fresh and exciting. And some of the disco acts that popped up like daisies on a lawn even hit the big time. Most of the acts on the other hand sank without a trace and only the real music lovers among those who danced through the nights remembered great bands and albums such as WILD HONEY. No wonder that their sole effort from 1979 is a rare diamond today and goes for more than 200 € among collectors of great black music if it ever turns up for sale. The very go - getting EVERLAND label from the Netherlands have filled the gap and did a reissue of the highest order. It is time to make this beauty available again since there is still a huge crowd out there craving for enthralling black music. WILD HONEY consisted of talented musicians backing up the three singing queens. The playing is powerful and precise. Despite the slick and perfect production the music shows feeling and is vivid. You hear every single beat from the percussionists due to the crystal clear sound. And still this music is intense and emotional. Six songs in the five minute range give you a great listening experience with the ballads even showing the peak of all talent gathered here. The arrangements are amazing. Every note, every sigh of the backing vocals, every clap from the percussion department sits perfectly in its place. The harmony vocals nearly reach the level of QUEEN and WILD HONEY are far from being a rock band at all. This is captivating, fascinating and enchanting while being as acccessible as it is necessary for disco and club music made to make the audience dance and party. But higher art and pop appeal go fairly well with each other in some cases. For example in the dancefloor sweeper - This time tomorrow' with hot blooded lead vocals and nearly ethereal backing choirs repeating the title over and over again while the instrumental arrangements in the back capture your soul. If you could ever call a disco song haunting, then it should be this one. This gets really close to Donna Summer with her major anthem - I feel love'. The closer of the album, - Selfish for unselfish reasons' is a slow dance, a slow pop tune with really atmospheric melodies and some very angelic lead vocals. The silky aspect of the overall sound should make the album appeal to a wide range of black music and disco music fans that go beyond the surface with their taste and really care for good songs that stick to your mind. There is nothing complicated with each of the six tunes here but definitely a complex pattern of several instrumental layers can be found if one listens closer and loves to explore a song rather than just dance to it. You can for sure also just ride on the wave of good vibrations this album. For fans of disco music and disco oriented soul this is truly a gem on par with the best Donna Summer moments.

Four Italo disco cuts produced by the powerhouse of Svengile aka Luigi Venegoni. Original copies of Stratosferic Band are changing hands for £125 and no wonder why. 'Splashdown' encapsulates perfectly the weird and wonderful imagination of Italo productions - sci-fi synthwork that ventures beyond this dimension. The Ben Norman track on the B1 has a more straight up disco feel to it but those vocals maintain an ethereal italo aura. Completing this special 4 tracker is the obscure 'T.C. Radiation'.....that talk box guitar solo will melt any minds it's put in front of!

In the '70s, Yan Tregger was far to believe he would become one of the most emblematic artists in the "sound illustration" scene. Yet today, his albums are highly coveted by "diggers" all around the world. At the time, nobody paid much attention to all those records that were classified as sound illustrations, or library music.
Yan Tregger started out in this environment in the late '60s. He was remarked after making several recordings for the credits of TV shows, and received a proposal to compose his first album. It was a small label (Marignan), the sleeve design was skimpy and the track titles were bizarre... Yet when you listened, the sound was seriously groovy. The album was called Freezing Point and a mere 300 copies were pressed. Thanks to this first test, other "illustration" professionals were convinced by Tregger's qualities.
During this period, there was no lack of work but there was no glory on the program either. In the '70s, many different labels such as Neuilly, Montparnasse 2000, or the Italian CAM label, called on
his services. Shortly afterwards, Philips released two of his records under the name Major Symphony, and then Polydor issued the two M.B.T. Soul albums, including one international
success, "Chase". Up until now, despite the interest shown in his discography, no reissue had been undertaken - an
omission that has just been fixed thanks to the release of a compilation that we are pleased to present. Let's start with the main information: the tracks included on the album were selected jointly by a number of collectors and Yan Tregger himself. The selection is rich and surprising. The A side is more "seventies", with an instrumental pop style and a psychedelic vibe, while the B side is more rhythmic and melodious, corresponding more with the funky disco moods of the eighties.7

"The Room", Fenster's fourth album and their first release on Altin Village & Mine marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. After releasing three albums, a feature length film, and touring extensively throughout Europe and North America since 2012, "The Room" serves as an entry point into their sonic evolution. The essential characteristic of the band is transformation - within and between genres, albums, and songs. Their sound is a window framing psychedelic, groovy, hypnogogic, playful pop.
Fenster is Elias Hock (Germany), Jonathan Jarzyna (Germany), Lucas Ufo (France) and JJ Weihl (USA). Their mission in creating this album was to compose and arrange every song together in a room. It is an experiment in collective creativity that pushed all of them to transcend their individuality and create something together which is greater than the sum of its parts.
The songs were tracked live in a house where the band ate, slept, and played together. Often the songs were recorded without implementing a click track. They were intent on finding and locking into a human groove—one open to imperfection—while still maintaining a tightness between them. They wanted to make the songs feel alive—as if the listener were present in the room with them in the moment of creation.
The album's title track "The Room" opens the record like a rollercoaster ride. There is a tension in the first bars that ties us to earth, a minimal riff that guides us to the first chorus where we feel we are slowly lifting into the air—and by the time we reach the second chorus it has exploded into a space far away from the planet's gravitational pull.
The band's use of juxtaposition is not just a way of channeling a vast library of musical genres and concepts, it is a means of expression. Combining tender pop melodies with kraut-beats, disco grooves and psychedelia frees the band from any one sound and creates a genre all its own.
This playfulness is especially vibrant in songs like "Rhythm A" and "HAHA lol" which deconstruct and fuse together disparate moments of explosive rock, tender harmonies, percussion made of splashing water, voices from a radio, and electric piano. Even "Feel Better", a sparkly pop ballad is cracked wide open by a long trippy interlude that appears unexpectedly within an otherwise classic structure.
The cover art, created by the band's own Lucas Ufo, invites us into a room in the shape of a human skull. If one looks "out" the window in the picture, one finds oneself looking in to an infinite portal of rooms within rooms. The record plays a lot with this idea of perception. In "HBW", the relationship between the bass and the drums creates the feeling of an infinity loop. The lyrics lend an enigmatic tint to the landscape of so called objective reality v. perceived reality: "I was a phase — you were going through — said I was the one but there is no one — there's only the sun — that gives shape to the moon"
The record starts with "The Room" and ends with "Two Doors". Maybe one door is an exit, and one leads to another room... who knows The song has something mysterious and expansive, like a digital ocean flooding the room, carrying everything away. The whole process of making a record is about capturing a moment in time. This is the record they made - in this point in time, all together, in a room. The last words of the record roll out with the waves: "What you leave behind for someone else to find — Two doors inside — neither one is right"

The Allergies are back with another corking new single - Dance Now is a super-sweet slice of sista funk that packs the sass to shake your ass. Honey Larochelle just wants to dance now and that's what she's gonna do with The Allergies providing the jams! Throw in some killer sax licks from brass man extraordinaire, Mr Woodnote, and it's almost impossible not to get down to this stylish selection of delectable grooves.
These guys are becoming well known for their sought-after double-header 45 records which have a knack of quickly becoming collector's items, and it's easy to see why when they pack out their single releases with quality cuts like 'Fade Away (feat. Andy Cooper)'.
It's another classic fast rap attack from the Long Beach-based MC of Ugly Duckling fame, as he spits rhymes over the 60's inspired samples and fat beats. So, something here for both the dancers and the hip hop heads in one neat little package.

London's, Latin-Funk / Tropicalia fusion pioneer: Spiteri & music partner Stephen Alpert open up their recordings from the Abbey Road Studios archives (1979) and pass them to Los Charly's Orchestra for a brand new re-processing, connecting the true chemistry of the old school with the current LCO technique, which founders: Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel have been crafting for more than a decade now, inspiring music lovers and producers all around the world.
From the origins of the Ronnie Scott's Latin Jam, to playing at the opening of Amnesia - Ibiza alongside (at the time up and coming talent): Bob Marley..., Spiteri lived it all in an authentic experimental fashion.
A few years later, that Spiteri legacy spread it's roots back in his mother land Venezuela and Latin-America, laying the foundations for a new generation of Latin sounds and fusions where bands of the calibre of Los Amigos Invisibles were to be born.
Los Charly's Orchestra meets Spiteri in order to pay tribute to all those years of creative effort with a new series of Re-works, where the emblematic tracks: Amor & Disco Samba set the scene for an initial chapter.

Following two successful volumes of 'Journey Into Deep
Jazz' on BBE, proprietor of London's 'IF Music' record store and walking musical encyclopedia Jean-Claude kicks of a new Introduction To...' album series with this afectionate retrospective of sister labels Black Saint and Soul Note. Cited by some as Italy's answer to Blue Note, Black Saint and Soul Note have together amassed a catalogue in excess of fve hundred albums
between 1975 and 2008. Founded by Giacomo Pellicciotti (producer of Enrico Rava's seminal Katcharpari' album), Black Saint scored a home run with it's very frst release: Billy Harper's 1975 Black Saint' LP, the follow-up to his much lauded Capra
Black' album on Strata-East. Following the blueprint laid down by iconic Italian jazz imprint Horo, Black Saint started life catching recording sessions with American artists as they passed through Italy on tour, as well as releasing Stateside recordings.
For nearly three years Black Saint released a plethora of jazz albums by the great and good of the Free-Jazz movement: Archie Shepp, Don Cherry, Oliver Lake, Muhal Richard Abrams, Malachi Favours and Hamiet Bluiett, to name but a few. At the same time, the label was struggling fnancially and a series of owners came
and went in quick-fre succession. In 1978, the company was fnally bought by Giovanni Bonandrini and his team, who by 1979 had launched a second label, the brilliant Soul Note. As Black Saint had done previously, the frst release on the fedgling sister-label had to be another by Billy Harper. The two labels went onto enjoy much critical acclaim during the mid to late '80s, winning 'The Down Beat Jazz Award' from 1984 through to 1989. Even Sun Ra and his Arkestra got in on the act, his 1989 epic Hours After' was released onBlack Saint.
A snapshot of Black Saint and Soul Note's frst ten years, this album presents only the very choicest cuts, lovingly remastered to vinyl. If you're already a fan of these labels, you should delight in Jean-Claude's selections, while if you've never come across these jazz jewels from Lombardy / Italy, this compilation will
surely blow you away.
About the series:
A side-bar to Jean Claude's 'Deep Jazz' album series, 'An Introduction To...' aims to highlight an artist or, as is the case for this frst volume, a particular label that might have gone unnoticed by all but the most ardent collectors.

In the mid eighties FM radio stations took over the airwaves in Nigeria. They wanted fresh new styles to play andin creasingly radio personalities like Bisi Olatilo, Ruime Effetie and Shea Martins were turning to reggae. Nigeria's Freak Father Number One, Benis Cletin, saw the writing on the wall and created his deeply philosophical roots reggae opus, 'Alpha & Omega'. Benis delivered a set of songs that tapped unashamedly into reggae's message of peace and love. The title track is a philosophical opus on the state of the world and how to live in it. 'Unqualified' warns against letting others tell you how to live. 'Guns for Freedom' is more militant call to arms, undercut by a lilting flute line from the legendary Eji Oyewole. Benis didn't completely abandon his freaky, funky roots. 'Soul Fever' is a slab of synth-driven boogie and 'Get Up And Dance' is pure funk with that typical Benis freak edge. But overall, 'Alhpa and Omega' is designed to soothe the minds of the oppressed in this unjust world - an African roots reggae classic that sounded great on FM radio.

'I've Been Loving You' sees Manford Best finally laying the ghosts of The Wings to rest and emerge as a serious player in the glittering new world of Afro boogie. Recorded in London, with Nigerian super producer, Jake Sollo, at the desk, it is a highly polished collection of disco classics, guaranteed to fill any dance floor in the world. The title track gets the party started with an irresistible bass line and chirpy horn section. Written by Best while he was still in The Wings, the song is unrecognisable from the one that topped the Nigerian charts in 1973. 'Let's Spend The Night Together' has a groove that suggests Manford has the dance floor on his mind, not the bedroom. 'I Feel Like Dancing', written by Jake Sollo and featuring the vocals of Nigerian diva, Pat Henry, is sophisticated and sexy and a stone cold classic of the era. 'I've Been Loving You' is an extraordinary metamorphosis. Manford Best, the rough and ready guitarist from the back blocks of eastern Nigeria, emerges as a glittering 'disco' butterfly, ready to strut the dance floors of London - and the world.
