[aD] CD 1-4 | The Gibson Brothers - "Ooh! What A Life" (original 12" mix)

Ichisan and Nakova (aka Igor and Jure) hail from the fine country of Slovenia. Over the past few years the pair have steadily been carving out a name for their unique style of nu disco, called Yugo Disco. The Ichisan solo records have won praise from DJs and the public alike.

The track "Pionir" first featured on the Nang sampler back in 2009. The track is named after Tito's "Pioneers" the red- kerchief donned, youth movement from the former Yugoslavia. The original brims with optimism and uplifting groove in equal measures. Things ending in a crescendo of shimmering disco guitar riffs.

On the remix front Lusty Zanibar from Bearfunk turns in a stomper of a remix. He keeps things floor led but synths it up with layers of tooty synth and his trademark quirky keys. Of course not leaving out those guitar riffs in the closing 1/3 of the track.

For the final remix things dart leftward for a remarkable take from Discodromo from the Prins Thomas / Full Pupp camp. This mix focuses on the riffs and sounds to create a great sonic-curveball for early sets.

The album "Yugo Tempo" features "Pionir" and is out on (most appropriately) the 25th May (Tito's Birthday / "Dan Mladosti" / "Youth Day").

The second release of the new label "let's get lost" which is started by mule musiq and force of nature's Kza is Kza's re-edit of all time top favorite obscure disco stuff.

disco trax into hot new versions which are ready to rip up the dance floor, this time around they kick things off
with the discotastic, proto-house vibes of Sharon Brown's classic 'I Specialize in Love'.

The 2nd in four vinyl that will all feature tracks not available on either the cd or digital release of this comp & each part is strictly limited to 1000 copies & will not be repressed.

A mega rare modern soul monster w/sloppy drumming, odd synth chords intense male vocal. On the flip a big Chicago & UK disco soul cut w/slower breakdowns removed + a choir driven church monster, complete w/homemade breakdown.

Side A "All I Need" kicks off with female vocal chat on housey beats, in the middle you hear more of heavenly vocal - slow minimal filter house stylee.
Side B, "Got To See Her" presents party minimal disco style, Marvin gaye ish vocal line comes in middle with killer electric piano code.
"Hurt Me" starts with killer funky bassline, groovy percussion & clap.
Theo parish esque flavour makes this track stands out when you play just before peak time on the dancefloor!! Simply winner

The second release from Hole in the Sky, tagged as 'label to watch in '08' by The Fader Magazine is Canyons debut, 'The Lovemore EP'.

Side A : Riccio remarks his own remixing abilities with the first track "Tonight". Distant sounds of a glittery era blend perfectly with the sound effects of nowadays in a track that is as ever stopping as explosive on the floor.

Side B1 : Hold tight for this dance extravaganza. Yes, "Dance (with me)" the 1st track on B-side throws in a rather unexpected, slightly Latin flavoured intro. Clearly very rhythmic and extremely danceable, the tune becomes tingled with Philly sound, but in a Santa Esmeralda type of groove.

Side B 2 :
The dance ends in a sultry-sexy way with "Love Fire"... Dirty dancing in Donna Summer's Love to Love you style. Funk and boogie are the core elements, still dressed up in Housey-deep sauce. Another gem, another treat.

A1) 'Found Love' (Full Version) kicks off with mellow piano and pad sound- almost like ballad intro, then it goes into heavy 909 kick sound and typical 90's piano riff. Strong vocal and breakbeats made this such a big tune.
A2) 'Found Love' (Instrumental Version) gives you pure instrumental version with female chorus.
B1) 'Found Love' (House Version) is the version without piano intro of 'Found Love' (Full Version).Watch out for huge jazzy piano breaks!
B2) 'Found Love' (Dub Version) is the one for DJ, just pure kick, bass line, piano riff and killer vocal line. No wonder this was so huge!!

Absolute classic tune and a very hard to find vinyl. this bootleg mix, should be in every house dj's box!!! A classic not to be missed.
