The MIKE series continues, this time wasting no space on the record with 4 tracks from Mike Simonetti's vast edit "vault". The MIKE series has been releasing old (and sometimes new) edits from Mikes archive for almost two years now. This release is special because it includes one of his most recognizable tracks- "Express Yourself" by the Gloved One and His Brothers. Even though it is almost 6 years old it still gets heavy plays and has become a cult classic of sorts. There is also a slow disco chugger by a semi-collectible female Salsoul artist, as well as a psychedelic krautrock killer with extended fuzzed out guitar solo. But the standout track may be the re-edit of a very hot track these days, sung by a guitar slinging, hairy armed, troubadour armed with a Fender Strat and a heart of gold... But Mike had the original 45 and not the mp3, like everyone else- so it doesnt sound like crap! Take a chance on this record , you wont regret it. (wink wink) - 300 pressed, one time only.

Heavy track with a garage feel to it. Breezy synths tie it down but the real focus is on the percussion, the beat is tremendous!

Mister Saturday Night's Eamon Harkin dishes out another dose of rocking revamps on this the second release from his Subway Series imprint. This time the Throne of Blood man takes three numbers which should be somewhat recognizable to discerning ears and mutates them into jams designed firmly for the dance floor.

'Party Out of Sight' is a superb re-work of the Bill Wither's seminal Harlem. This edit made it's first mark a few years ago in an earlier guise on mp3 but has now been further spruced and improved for wax. 'The Better Kind' stretches out Joy Division's 'Means to an End' and underpins it with a rocking drum pattern whilst 'Turn Up the Funk' is an excellent re-work of the proto Hip-Hop number 'Shoot the Pump' from back in the day. A real bumper package!

Fresh off the back of a greatly received 12th release No More Hits are keeping with the fresh new producer flow, this time G&D at the controls. Originally a two track 12 with Mustang & Turned, we heard the 'Some Time' track and had to put it out!

Heavy, chugging track this is a KILLER! Throwback vibe on this one but sounds so fresh. Loads of percussion going on, the lead is tremendous. This track has got it all!

This is a quality track; beat down disco feel - perfect No More Hits material. Love the hypnotic synth. This really builds to a huge finish, peak time destroyer! Deep!

B2: Turned
This is the sexiest song, such a beautiful groove. Deep bass line is the main focus, really works with great use of vocals and a stunning lead. So, so HOT!!

Deep, building groove. Heavy track with great vibes. Huge summer track!

B2: Honesty
Awesome jazz-funk grooves, playing on some cool loops perfectly complimented with some nice percussion.

Out Of City are a Tuscan based trio and are no strangers to the scene, having already worked with labels like Eskimo and DC Recordings. In Dino Storai, Simone Fedi and Nicola Lopetuso we find a band that seem to effortlessly combine synth music with disco, rock and punk, and their forthcoming album for Lipservice is a real joy to listen to from start to finish.
