Mystery Meat is back! Following a hiatus since last summer's double-sided whammy release courtesy of NYC disco dons Jacques Renault and Lee Douglas, 'Pump' b/w 'Got To Find A Disco', the top secret edits label returns with the Bicep boys in tow. And what a return it is! Bicep have been making serious noise over the past several months following their auspicious debut on the Throne of Blood label in late 2010. In the months since, they've gone on to remix Domino Recording's Blood Orange, Tal M. Klein (a known associate of fellow Mystery Meaters Nick Chacona & Anthony Mansfield), and LA upstarts Cosmic Kids, and their follow-up EP2 is currently doing the damage on discerning dancefloors the world over.

The Strut label returns with a brand new vinyl edition of one of the imprint's most in-demand series, DISCO NOT DISCO, exploring original anthems and rarities from the world of reactionary 1970s post-punk and leftfield disco.



With the original two compilations released at the turn of the decade as a new wave of bands like The Rapture and LCD Soundsystem drew on the music's influence, DISCO NOT DISCO has since been adopted in its own right as a term to describe a whole genre. The compilation is more timely than ever in 2011 as a reference point for a burgeoning mainstream scene.



The new edition moves from New York classics by Konk and Bill Laswell's Material to early Detroit machine music, Belgian New Beat and a healthy dose of UK originals from Shriekback, Quando Quango and more on seminal labels like Y and Factory. Watch out too for rare gems from unexpected sources including Japanese electronic pioneers Yellow Magic Orchestra and '70s prog collective Isotope.



DISCO NOT DISCO is packaged in a deluxe 2LP Gatefold with featuring sleeve notes by Bill Brewster, author of 'Last Night A DJ Saved My Life', extensive track by track notes and rare photos.

A mile or two out to sea, floats what has come to be known as a mega-yacht. Aboard his life like an episode of MTV Cribs but with more parties and less gold-encrusted pool tables. Surrounded by beauties by the bevy and sipping on gin and juice, Duff scans the horizon with his telescope (solid platinum, encrusted with diamonds, built in infa red) and spies young love or a new hope. Smiling to himself he thinks 'they look different, younger perhaps at least changed, if not for the better but changed at least which is surely a good thing'. He turns to the girls on the boat, one hand pointing to the shore and the other raising his drink to the sky he shouts 'I helped create that'
