Tyranny and Mutation is the second studio album by American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released on February 11, 1973, by Columbia Records. The album was recorded at the Columbia Studios in New York City during the year before and was produced by Murray Krugman and Sandy Pearlman. On May 12, 1973, the album peaked at #122 on the Billboard 200.

The song “Baby Ice Dog” features lyrics by singer/poet Patti Smith (who was keyboardist Allen Lanier’s girlfriend at the time), who would make several lyrical contributions to the band’s repertoire during its career. The song “The Red & The Black”, with lyrics referencing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is a renamed, re-recorded version of “I’m on the Lamb But I Ain’t No Sheep” from the same-titled debut album. The song was later covered by the Minutemen and Band of Susans.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Tyranny and Mutation is available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on translucent blue coloured vinyl.

Released in 1972, Blue Öyster Cult’s eponymous debut failed to garner initial interest from the music-loving public upon release, but is now considered a must-have classic. The exceptional psychedelic hard rock album with stunning cover art, features songs such as "Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll", "Stairway to the Stars", and "Then Came the Last Days of May", all of which the band still plays regularly during its concerts. The band toured with artists such as The Byrds, Alice Cooper and the Mahavishnu Orchestra to support the album, which received a positive reaction from critics. The Village Voice called it "the tightest and most musical hard rock record since - dare I say it - Who's Next".

In 20 Jahren hat Sänger und Gitarrist Thomas Gurrath ein ganzes Banduniversum aus Debauchery, Blood God und Balgeroth erschaffen und vereint diese Trinity of Blood Gods nun unter dem Namen BLUTGOTT. Musikalisch genreübergreifend gibt es stampfenden Death Metal, klassischen Heavy Metal und groovigen Hard Rock, mal mit kreischenden Vocals, mal mit der markanten Monsterstimme, mal clean und alles dazwischen.

Am 23. April 2021 veröffentlicht die Melodic Death Metal Formation BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT über Napalm Records die EP Paint The Sky With Blood.
Die EP wurde bereits Ende 2020 in Finnland aufgenommen und sollte der Beginn einer Reise sein, die viel zu früh endete. Die drei Tracks starke Scheibe ist ein beeindruckender, überwältigender Nachruf auf eine absolute Legende der Metal-Szene, einen unvergleichlichen Sänger/Gitarristen und symbolisiert gleichzeitig eine moderne Hommage an das Genre selbst.

Those Once Loyal is the eighth and final album by the British death metal band Bolt Thrower. It was released on 11 November 2005 in Germany, 14 November 2005 in the rest of Europe and 15 November 2005 in the United States by Metal Blade Records. It was recorded and mixed at Sable Rose Studios in Coventry, England. It is produced by the band and Andy Faulkner. With Bolt Thrower deciding against releasing a follow-up to Those Once Loyal, it was Bolt Thrower's final studio album before breaking up a year after drummer Martin Kearns' death in September 2015. Like all of Bolt Thrower's albums, Those Once Loyal deals with war, specifically World War I. The cover shows a World War 1 QF 18 pounder field gun and its crew in action and is based on an original WW1 photograph. The picture is also found on the back side of the Guards Memorial in St James's Park in London.

Though inspired by the shocking iconography of horrorshows, slasher flicks, and psychological thrillers, Bonnie Trash turns cinematic tropes on their head. Rather than fashioning nightmares into reality, the band paints reality as a nightmare, rife with pain, suffering, and gothic theatre. Like their forebears Joy Division, Black Sabbath, or John Carpenter, Bonnie Trash understands that everyday atrocities haunt the periphery of our lives. It's Emmalia's relentless, thrashing guitar which has made Bonnie Trash's live shows as legendary as their records.
