Die US Alternative Metal-Vorreiter MUSHROOMHEAD melden sich diesen Sommer mit ihrem neuen Album Call The Devil zurück. Call The Devil ist der Nachfolger des achten Albums und Label-Debüts A Wonderful Life (2020), mit dem die Horror-Ikonen in den USA große Erfolge feierten (Platz 2 der US Current Hard Music Albums Charts und Platz 8 der Current Rock Albums Charts). Außerdem war es das Debüt von Jackie LaPonza – der ersten Sängerin von MUSHROOMHEAD.

Nach zwölfjähriger Pause kehrt Gitarrist Dave „Gravy" Felton auf Call The Devil zurück und verleiht zwei der neuen Tracks seine unverkennbaren Skills. Felton hat in der Vergangenheit auf mehreren wegweisenden Alben von MUSHROOMHEAD mitgewirkt und gilt durch seine Arbeit an Klassikern wie „Along The Way", „Sun Doesn't Rise" und „The Dream Is Over" als einer der prägendsten Songwriter. Call The Devil wurde erneut von Mastermind und Drummer Skinny produziert und von Matt Wallace (Faith No More, 3 Doors Down) gemischt, der bereits für das Kultalbum XIII mit der Band
zusammengearbeitet hat. Gemastert wurde Call The Devil von Jacob Hansen, der für seine Arbeit mit Größen wie Volbeat, Epica und Arch Enemy bekannt ist.

Auch wenn die Welt gefühlt immer kleiner wird, ist eine Heavy Metal aus Indien auch heute noch etwas Besonderes und es ist auch nicht immer einfach, alle Träume und Wünsche umzusetzen. Die bis unter die Zähne motivierte Band MUSTANG hat es geschafft und legt das Debütalbum „Beyond Raging Thunder“ vor, welches auf CD und digital bei einer spanischen Firma bereits erschienen ist und bereits viel Staub aufgewirbelt hat.

Beim Vinyl ist die Band stolz auf ihre Zusammenarbeit mit Golden Core, auch weil dieses Label die letzte Station (die letzten drei Alben und Wiederveröffentlichungen vom Backkatalog) von Manilla Road war.

Dass „Beyond Raging Thunder“ ein erstklassiges Metalalbum ist, konnte man schon in vielen Reviews und in sozialen Medien lesen. Es wurde in zwei Studios in Indien aufgenommen, anschließend in Kanada gemischt und in Deutschland gemastert. Da die Spieldauer für eine einfaches Vinyl zu lang ist, werden zwei Tracks auf 7“ Single ausgelagert, die der LP beiliegt.

Zusätzlich zum farbigen Vinyl ist ein weiterer Bonus ein bedrucktes Inlay mit Texten, Liner Notes und Fotos.

MY DYING BRIDE‘s three decades of misery almost came to an end several years ago. Following 2015’s universally lauded »Feel the Misery« album, vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe’s daughter, just five years old at the time, was diagnosed with cancer. Shocked and heartbroken, Stainthorpe put all band activities on hold while he, his immediate family, and MY DYING BRIDE put their collective energies into eradicating what Stainthorpe called, “the cruellest of God's bitter and loveless creations.” The high hurdles, however, didn’t stop with cancer. In 2018, returning original member and guitarist Calvin Robertshaw texted his departure, effective immediately. No reason was given or explanation provided to anyone. Then, just as MY DYING BRIDE had regrouped after positive news that his daughter was effectively cancer free, returning drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels departed right before the band were slated to enter Mark Mynett’s studio, Mynetaur Productions. Down two members but feeling right as rain, MY DYING BRIDE moved on, mastered the doldrums, recording magnificent new album, »The Ghost of Orion«, to the joyful tears of fans across the globe, in the process.

in Yorkshire, 'Turn Loose The Swans' saw the arrival of long- time session

Während die deutsche Metal Hammer-Redaktion nur eine mittelmäßige Bewertung vergab, lobte das britische Kerrang! das Album als „den interessantesten Progressive-Thrash-Crossover, den ich seit Langem gehört habe“. Mit seinem futuristischen Cover und eigenwilligen, innovativen Songs stellte MYSTERY alles in Frage, was man damals von Metal erwartete. Die Kompositionen ließen vermuten, dass hier keine jungen Heavy Metal Fans am Werke waren, die auf den Pfaden ihrer Idole wanderten. Die Songs stecken voller Ideen, die die meisten Metalmusiker niemals in dieser Form gehabt hätten. Und auch die Umsetzung ließ schon immer den Verdacht aufkommen, dass hier Profimusiker aus einem anderen Genr beauftragt wurden, ein Heavy Metal Album zu schreiben und aufzunehmen – natürlich standesgemäß mit Künstlernamen wie The Lion oder Mike Battista. Ein Verdacht, der sich nach Jahren der Recherche nun bestätigt hat. Mysticum brought to the world a completely unique brand of extreme &
psychedelic discordant black metal with insane drum machine patterns & synths.
They were originally signed to Euronymous' Deathlike Silence Productions label;
such was his belief in the band (Mysticum even featured Hellhammer from
Mayhem in their line-up for a brief period). However, this venture proved to be cut
short following his death, forcing Mysticum to look elsewhere for the release of
their eventual debut album, 'In The Streams Of Inferno', finally surfacing in 1996.
A perfect concoction of cold, primitive black metal & forward-thinking ideas from
an act unafraid to push boundaries, the hell of 'In The Streams Of Inferno' has had
a lasting & profound impact on many since 1996. For this release, the album has
had some extensive remastering work courtesy of Tom Kvålsvoll at Strype
Studios in Oslo to give a better representation of the sound the band initially

NA ZAROT opens a portal into a universe of darkness, chaos and spiritual upheaval. The sound is raw, jagged like cold iron and radically unpolished-an antithesis to any romanticized or völkisch fantasy, firmly rooted in an anti-fascist stance. NA ZAROT shapes lo-fi black metal infused with traces of punk as a counter-space: a place where archaic directness meets a dense, spiritually charged atmosphere that unfolds a hypnotic pull even within the noise. The production remains deliberately fragmented and unrefined-a kind of emotional excavation protocol that exposes the core of the genre without glorifying it. Lyrically, the tracks revolve around death, decay, isolation, spiritual disintegration and those threshold moments in which the abyss releases a strangely unsettling calm. Musically, sawing guitars, brutal screams, driving drums, sickly strings, ghostly voices and a distorted piano collide. Above it all lies a weight of leaden sorrow, until sudden ruptures drag the pieces without warning into even deeper darkness. Side A presents the tracks from the On Death and Dying tape, where literary spaces intersect with personal experiences. Mit ‚The Regal Bastard‘ beschließt Nad Sylvan beeindruckend die Vampirate Trilogy. Im August 2017 begann er die Arbeit am dritten Teil der Reihe. Dazu schickt er seine musikalischen Ideen an die verschiedenen Kollaborateure, die am Album mitarbeiten sollen, und lässt sie ihre Ideen daruas entwickeln. Am Schluss wählt er dann aus dem Material aus, was am besten zum Album passt. ‚The Regal Bastard‘ ist ganz Nad Sylvans Vision, und er setzte sie mit Akribie im Studio um. Auch auf diesem Album vereint er eine beeindruckende Menge an musikalischem Talent. Steve Hackett spielt auf einem Track Gitarre, Guthrie Govan auf zweien, während Tony Levin auf einem Song am Bass zu hören ist. Jonas Reingold spielt Bass auf dem Rest des Albums, und Nick D'Virgilio ist an den Drums zu hören. Außerdem arbeitet Nad erneut mit denselben Sängerinnen, Sheona Urquhart, Jade Ell und Tania Doko.
Was können Fans von 'The Regal Bastard' erwarten? Für Nad ist dies das beste der drei Alben. „Ich bin mir sicher, die Fans werden es lieben. Es mag nicht ganz so heavy in den Riffs sein, wie die anderen, und es hat neben den gewohnt poppigen Prog-Elementen ebenfalls Einschüsse von R’n’B. Es ist der beste Weg, die Trilogie zu beenden. Jeder, der an dem Album beteiligt war, hat in großer Weise zu dessen Entstehung beigetragen, und geholfen, meine Vision in die Realität umzusetzen. Ich bin allen Musikern dafür sehr dankbar. Es ist ein sehr aufregendes Album geworden, eins, das den Fans sehr gut gefallen wird, da bin ich mir sicher.“

Nadja is a duo of multi-instrumentalist Aidan Baker and bassist Leah Buckareff—active since 2005—and making music which can be described as ambient doom, dreamsludge, or metalgaze. Nadja’s signature sound combines the atmospheric textures of shoegaze and ambient/electronic music with the heaviness, density, and volume of metal, noise, and industrial.
For their new album, Luminous Rot, the duo retain their overblown/ambient sound, and explore shorter and more tightly structured songs reflecting their interests not only in metal, but post-punk, cold-wave, shoegaze, and industrial.

Thematically, Luminous Rot explores ideas of 'first contact' and the difficulties of recognising alien intelligence. This was in part inspired by reading such writers as Stanislaw Lem and Cixin Lui -- in particular, theories on astro-physics, multi-dimensionality, and spatial geometry in "The Three Body Problem" -- as well as Margaret Wertheim's "A Field Guide To Hyperbolic Space," about mathematician Daina Taimina's work with crochet to illustrate hyperbolic space and geometry.
The album was recorded between their home studio, Broken Spine Studios, or Nadja’s live rehearsal studio, both in the district of Lichtenberg, Berlin. Luminous Rot marks the first album mixed by someone else, who in this case was David Pajo. The band comment, “as big fans of Slint, we thought he might fore-front the more angular, post-punk elements of our music - the mix is quite different from our previous albums. But, as usual, we had James Plotkin (Khanate, OLD, etc) master the album as we trust his ears and aesthetic, as he's mastered numerous records of ours.”

The re-mastered edition will be available in two different colours and comes along with a bonus CD, which contains three yet unreleased fountains of fun, starting with party smashing “Uranus”, featuring Michael Starr (STEEL PANTHER). On their fourth full-length, the five-piece offers hits such as “The Call of Cthulhu” and “Barbie, Milf Princess of the Twilight” featuring Fabio Lione (Turilli/Lione Rhapsody).
