In the summer of 2017 Australia's premiere swamp/grunge/punk/noise band The Scientists unexpectedly sprang back to life and started playing shows and making new music again. Kim Salmon is back with his Scientists - Boris Sujdovic, Tony Thewlis, and Leanne Cowie (the mid-80s line-up) -- and are delivering their first recording in 30 years. For this occasion Scientists have recorded Braindead, a reworking of song from their 1987 Human Jukebox album, and a brand new track called Survivalskills. If you love the band's original fuzz-filled swamprock you will not be disappointed. The band will be touring the US for the first time ever and plan to release a follow up to this single on In The Red later this year.

By age nine, Chandra was staying up late at her parents' art-world parties, collaborating in her father's projects, and performing her own plays at downtown hotspots such as The Kitchen and Franklin Furnace.

This set the stage for Chandra's course-altering collaboration with
members of The Dance, who were looking to form yet another project and found their muse/fuse in 10-year-old Chandra. Transportation EP, originally released in 1980 by The Dance's own label, ON/GoGo. Balancing on razorwire guitars, liquid basslines, and dub-style melodica, the Chandra band unveiled their first four songs: 'Opposite', 'Concentration', 'Subways', and 'Kate.


While Chandra's music can be compared to her no wave contemporaries Y Pants, France's Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Su Tissue of Suburban Lawns, or 'Delta 5 meets the Jackson 5', to quote critic David Ma, her lyrical fixations are truly singular. With hypnotic, chanted vocals focusing on chilling themes of mind control, multiple personalities and missing the train.

Maxi 12" of danceable tracks by NSRD, best known as a Latvian avant-garde, postmodern, experimental and underground music group active in the 80s.

Music From Memory return with a further six tracks from Dutch musician Richenel. Continuing with recordings taken from his debut album 'La Diferencia', originally released in 1982 on the cult Amsterdam cassette only label Fetisj, the tracks on Music From Memory's second EP 'Perfect Stranger' includes alternate takes drawn from Richenel's personal copy of the album alongside a further composition which didn't make it onto the original Fetisj cassette.

Studying set and costume design whilst making a name for himself as a singer and performer in Amsterdam's underground clubs, Richenel played with several disco acts and cultivated an extravagant cross-gender stage persona before connecting with members of the local label. Hooking up through their time together at the Rietveld art academy in Amsterdam, Fetisj was an experimental multi media collective which revolved around a loose mix of various young artists and musicians. Having developed a house band with artists going by a number of different pseudonyms the label set up their own small makeshift studio and would produce and sell the cassettes through their distribution network and at events across the city. Recorded amongst the turmoiled punk and squatter scene of Amsterdam against a backdrop of drugs and social unrest, the 'La Diferencia' sessions reflect a unique mix of punk aesthetics with a synthesized bedroom funkiness.

A somewhat illustrious figure in Dutch pop history with his flamboyant appearance as well as having one of the more exceptional male voices to come out of the country, Richenel would go on to record a number of successful albums and hit singles in the Netherlands and beyond. This largely unknown album on Fetisj however, seems to embody the spirit of another time; a particularly unique and richly creative moment in Amsterdam's musical and cultural history and one that is deserving of a much wider audience.

For these reissues SUNNO))) returned to the original full length unedited premasters /final mixes and brought them to Matt 'The Alchemist' Colton at Alchemy Mastering in London for a complete high resolution 88K/24bit mastering . The bottom end is deeper and more intense, low mids are lusher , high frequencies are smoother and the stereo image is vastly improved, seeming more 3 dimensional spacially and more dynamic.

SUNN O))) co-founders Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson originally conceived the WHITE albums to be 'acoustic' but the sessions at Fontanelle's Magnetic Park studios in Portland Oregon quickly took a far different route toward the psychedelic and the electronic/synthetic, with trance and drone experiments.

The WHITE1 album was a bold step forward in the experimental and highly collaborative area which SUNNO))) has metamorphosed via and travelled since. Together with the generosity and talent of the unique and great guest artists JULIAN COPE, JOE PRESTON, REX RITTER, ULVER and RUNHILD GAMMEISAETER the concept of SUNNO))) was brought from the shadows of the earth unto the broader cosmic spheres.

Deep compilation that sheds light on Estonian Electronic Folk Music between 1979 - 1983. Big tip! "Laulik-elektroonik" LP by an ex-pat Estonian musician Olev Muska is the new release of Estonian archival label Frotee Records. The compilation subtitled as "Explorations in Estonian Electronic Folk Music - The First Years, 1979-1983" brings together all Muska's Estonian-themed songs recorded prior to his debut album from 1985, "Old Estonian Waltzes". It includes previously unreleased material and tracks from limited edition tapes and 7" single. For its 10th release, Frotee has expanded its scope and is now also offering insights into quality music by Estonians all over the world.
Olev Muska was born to a family of expatriate Estonians in Australia. From 1979 onwards he recorded unique versions of Estonian folk songs on various electronic music instruments at his home studio. As Muska was into contemporary experimental music and also bored with the conservative take on Estonian culture prevalent in the activities of the Australian ex-pat community, he decided to combine these two influences to create his unique brand of electronic Estonian folk music. As Muska had access to more advanced musical equipment, he achieved a level of quality in his arrangements that would not have been possible in Soviet Estonia. He managed to create surprisingly amazing Estonian minimal wave with his group Elektrio but wasn't ashamed to make medley of Estonian themes with cheesy-sounding small Casio synthesizer either. His early versions of some folk songs, like "Kaera-Jaan" or "Saaremaa", are less crazy than on his debut LP and as such a welcome addition to Frotee's collection of Balearic sounds.
Although Muska was not a stranger to the contemporary Australian underground music scene, he continued to record with a couple of close friends and performed only at local Estonian events. Thus Olev Muska has been a well kept secret amongst Estonian music fans, one that remained entirely unknown to Australian record collectors until Chris Bonato from Left Ear Records introduced "Old Estonian Waltzes" LP to a wider audience. Left Ear Records has now licensed "Karjapoisi lugu" off the 1985 LP for their Australian underground music compilation "Antipodean Anomalies".

Set for release on June 23 via Asylum Records, x (multiply) is the hugely anticipated new album by Ed Sheeran.
It follows his critically acclaimed and hugely successful 2011 debut +; an album that was certified 6 times platinum in the UK alone and has achieved worldwide sales of over 4 million copies to date. It also saw Ed asthe recipient of various awards for the record, including 2 Brits, an Ivor Novello and multiple Grammy nominations.
Never an artist to stand still, Ed recorded x at various locations around the globe (all the while drawing on experiences and influences encountered on his over three years of unrelenting touring) with such luminary producers as Rick Rubin (Eminem, Jay-Z, Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Pharrell Williams (Daft Punk, Robin Thicke, N.E.R.D), Benny Blanco (Rhianna, Wiz Khalifa) and Jeff Bhasker (Alicia Keys, Jay-Z) adding new flavours to the classy work of key collaborators Johnny McDaid (Snow Patrol) and Jake Gosling (who produced +). xhas the musical ingredients to make it one of the most important global releases of this year.
The new set showcases the exponential growth (both vocally and musically) of an incredible artist, who at 23 exhibits the poise of a seasoned veteran. The songs for x came together whilst touring + and, in the same way as the latter was a snapshot of his life and relationship to-date, x charts his loves and life since. Only 'One', the perfect album opener and first song written for the record (in 2011 whilst on tour in Australia) looks back to that time and is the link between the two records. With 'One' under his belt, almost before he noticed he was writing, Ed had ten new songs and counting.
The breath-taking album-closer 'Afire Love' was written about his grandfather who passed away last Christmas. 'Always the hero of the family - such a cool guy - he'd been suffering with Alzheimer's for some time and I actually started writing that song two weeks before he passed away," Ed says. "I was thinking 'What if' and then he did...' Then there is the timeless ballad 'Photograph' written in May 2012 in a hotel room in Kansas whilst on tour with Snow Patrol. McDaid had a piano loop playing on his laptop while Ed was making a Lego X-wing Fighter to give to a charity auction. He just started singing as he put the pieces together and the song grew from there. 'Don't' started life as a riff on his phone and grew into another of x's massive moments. The deluxe version of the album also includes the original song, 'I See Fire', which Ed wrote, produced and recorded for the second Hobbit movie. This was after Academy award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson personally commissioned him. With no promotion besides 3 tweets from his personal twitter account, it reached #2 on the UK iTunes chart.
However it's the Pharrell-produced lead single 'Sing', due out in the UK on June 1, that's pushing the envelope for Ed. #Sing was the number one trend on twitter globally ahead of launch with the track immediately tearing up airwaves nationwide including a 7-week add to Radio 1 and an unprecedented addition straight to the Super Hit list at Capital FM and Kiss Network. The audio upload on YouTube was Ed's biggest ever video launch, clocking 650k views in its first 24 hours. Already i-tunes Top 5 in 15 different countries (number 3 in the US), Top 20 in 36 countries and with all chart positions climbing, 'Sing' is well on the way to being a global smash.
On the back of 'Sing's' launch, x reached No.7 in the UK iTunes chart on pre-order alone with that success mirrored internationally with No.1 positions in the US and Canada, Top 5 in New Zealand, Sweden, Australia and Top 10 in 20 countries.

From the moment the title track kicks of 'Welcome To The Neighbourhood', Boston Manor's second full-length, it's clear that the Blackpool-based five-piece are not quite the same band they were before. That's because - just like anyone and anything - they've changed with time. They're still very much Boston Manor, but their musical and lyrical focus is shifting. That doesn't mean they're leaving their past behind, though. Rather, they're building on the sound of 2016's debut full-length, 'Be Nothing', as well as 'Saudade', their EP from the previous year, to understand and transition into who they are in 2018. 'I think the time between the last record and this one, we kind of thought we knew who we were' explains vocalist Henry Cox, 'but we've realised that even now we're still figuring that out. Before, we were scared to try stuff, whereas on this record there were no limits. We wanted to push ourselves, instead of being terrified to dip just one little toe in the wrong direction.'

Melting faces since 2009 - STONED JESUS wouldn`t dare to show up at your party without a solid slab of stoner rock! But make no mistake with this Ukrainian trio: this ain`t your average desert session! Fourth album Pilgrims is a rather multi-faceted affair mixing groove with noise rock elements, lots of proggy infusions and maybe even a sick bass line reminiscent of good old Deftones (- Thessalia'). Giants such as Mastodon and Melvins come to mind since STONED JESUS can`t be pigeonholed.

Brett Anderson believes that Suede's debut album, winner of the Mercury Music Prize in 1993, probably has
more cultural resonance than any of their other albums, as a pre-cursor to Britpop and a supplanter of grunge. It is
also home to four ground-breaking singles.
The album included those four singles 'The Drowners', 'Metal Mickey', 'Animal Nitrate' and 'So Young', but
none of the nine b-sides. These are now included on a second LP, along with a cover version of 'Brass in Pocket'.

Das Quartett Beachtape aus Brighton, UK, ist das von Rory Sear, Leo Kenyon, Andy Kemp and Dan Mcauliffe. Mit der EP Hold Music veröffentlichten sie im vergangenen Herbst ihr Debüt auf dem Stockholmer Label PNKSLM Recordings (ShitKid, Les Big Byrd, HOLY) und sind jetzt zurück mit einer Doppel A-Seiten 7".
Auf der Single veröffentlichen Beachtape mit ihrer typisch melodischen, aber fuzzy Version von Indie Rock ihre bislang stärksten Songs. Sie bewegen sich zwischen entspanntem Beach Pop und hymnischen Gitarrenpop.

Die Musik von El Ten Eleven kann man im weitesten Sinne als Meditation in Bewegung beschreiben. Zum ersten Mal in ihrer 16-jährigen Karriere hat die Band mit Sonny DiPerry
einen Produzenten von außerhalb hinzugezogen.

Le Shok ist eine vom New Wave inspirierte Garage Punk Band aus Long Beach, California.
Ursprünglich gründete sich Le Shok im Jahr 1997 als Realtion auf den aus ihrer Sicht traurigen Zustand des Punk in den 90er Jahren, einer Zeit, als die Mehrheit der Bandmitglieder beim
legendären Zed Records Shop arbeiteten. Beeinflusst durch The Fall, Germs und The Screamers machte sich die Band mit ihren wilden Liveshows und ihrem rotzigen, aber hoch infektiösen Lo-Fi Sound einen Namen. Le Shok veröffentlichte einige Singles (darunter auch Split Singles mit Ink & Dagger, Electric
Frankenstein und The Stitches). Das einzige Album, We Are Electrocution, aufgenommen in 1999, erschien auf dem mittlerweile nict mehr aktiven Label GSL. In 2018 kam das Original Line-up von Le Shok für eine spezielle Burger Boogaloo Performance wueder zusammen, um die Wiederveröffentlichung von We Are Electrocution auf Burger Records zu feiern.

"Kampf des Jahrhunderts" schlug. Øyvind Blomstrøm und Chris Holm verbringen ihr Leben hauptsächlich damit, mit anderen Bands unterwegs zu sein. Sie sind fast immer dabei von Stadt zu Stadt und von Land zu Land zu reisen. Als sich ihre Wege 2016 zum wiederholten Mal kreuzten, starteten sie ihren gemeinsamen Traum von einem rein instrumentellen Projekt. Holms Freund aus der Bergen-Szene, Kim Åge Furuhaug wollte mitmachen und Orion Belte wurde geboren.Ihr Debütalbum «Mint» basiert auf alten Traditionen, fühlt sich aber trotzdem neu an und hat seinen ganz eigenen Stil. Die Texanische Band Khruangbin mag der
Beste Vergleich sein, aber Orions Belte gehört in ihre eigene Galaxie. Eine Galaxie wo sie der Soundtrack zu Filmen sind, die noch nicht gemacht wurden, wo Landschaften in Farben leuchten und wo das Trio genau das tut was es möchte; auf ihre ganz eigene Art und Weise.Das Ergebnis ist «Mint»,
ein Album voller Songs die genauso gut zu Straßenfesten in Oslo und London passen, wie in private Casinos in Paris und Nachtclubs in Lagos.

Das Quintett Sudakistan aus Stockholm meldet sich mit seinem zweiten Album Swedish Cobra zurück. Erneut liefern sie ihren typisch eigenen Psychedelic Rock mit Latino Rhythmen ab.
Das erste Album Caballo Negro, veröffentlicht in 2015, Caballo Negro, war eine Mischung aus Thee Oh Sees und Death From Above 1979, erhielt begeisterte Reviews von Medien wie Classic Rock, Uncut, The Line of Best Fit und KEXP. Swedish Cobra wurde live im Studio aufgenommen und fängt die chaotische, aber fokuserte Energie der Liveshows von Sudakistan ein. Der Sound ist etwas vielseitiger und erwachsener als auf dem Vorgänger

Mit ihrem Sound zwischen Southern Rock'n'Soul und Americana Jam erregt die TRONGONE BAND viel Aufmerksamkeit. Gegründet von den Brüdern Andrew und Johnny, konnte die
TRONGONE BAND den gefragten Keyboarder Ben ‚Wolfe' White und den preisgekrönten Bassisten Todd Herrington für das Tour-Lineup verpflichten. Todd, der das Album auch produziert hat, gibt dem Sound einen fetten Groove.
Die Band hat sich mit ihren Flickinger Mischpult für drei Tage in die Montrose Recording Studios
zurückgezogen, um ‚Key To The House' einzuspielen. Der Sound des Albums fängt die old-school
Atmosphäre des Studios, mit Kissen um die Drums und Gitarren-Soli über die Bass-Amps, perfekt
ein.

It was the hard rocking sound of hits like 'Still Of The Night' and 'Give Me All Your Love Tonight' that brought Whitesnake worldwide, multi-platinum success. Even so, the band's founder and lead singer, David Coverdale has never been a stranger to the occasional ballad, going back to his early days with Deep Purple on 'Soldier Of Fortune' and, most famously, with Whitesnake on the 1987 #1 smash hit, 'Here I Go Again.'

The first LP mixes rare and unreleased versions of songs like 'Summer Rain' and 'Forevermore' from the band's recent studio albums - Good To Be Bad (2008) and Forevermore (2011). Also included are songs like 'Love Is Blind' from Coverdale's solo album, and a previously unreleased song, 'All The Time In The World.' The second LP touches on the different stages of Coverdale's career, from his time in Deep Purple ('Soldier of Fortune'), to his solo albums ('Too Many Tears'), and, most famously, with Whitesnake on unplugged versions of hits like 'Is This Love' and 'Here I Go Again.'
