1986 can be described as the year of the first major step in Metallica's development. A strong creative peak in the band's career marked by a studio masterpiece called "Master of Puppets" and a series of cornerstone live performances around the world, among them the London Hammersmith Odeon concert on September 21st. An extra powerful performance including earlier pieces and new hits such as the ultra classic "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)". This was the rise of a new form of Metal and a full body Live experience.

NYL's 1976 sole release is curiously still very much under the radar despite it being one of the most intriguing French psychedelic/prog albums from the 70's. The music is highly creative and energetic with a definite space-rock feel in the style of Hawkwind, but also a clear krautrock edge reminiscent of Amon Dull II and Agitation free. Michel Peteau's guitar is the driving force around which all other elements create a whirlwind of sonic psychedelic infusion veering between loud psychedelia and irreverent pulsating rock groove a la' Gong. Features Ariel Kalma (flute and sax), as well as Janick Top (From Magma) and Bernard Lavialle (from Ame Son). Originally released on Richard Pinhas "Urus Records", this fully licensed album is released in high quality heavy paste-on gatefold cover, limited to 500 copies in black vinyl

Originally available only in sex shops in the Netherlands, this is one of the rarest psychedelic LP's ever to be recorded in Europe. Consisting of only two long tracks, one covering side A and one covering side B, this album is probably the most mind-bending stuff we've heard from around this time. Side A starts with fast-paced free-jazz-rock with intense drumming and Anita's growing involvement (first giggling, then moaning and finally screaming in all sorts of terrifying ways) Most instruments gradually drop leaving only fierce drumming in the background, leading up to a guy repeating the words num-num-num' inter-twinned with joyful screaming, somewhat reminiscent of Can's Tago Mago. This then move's on to another psychedelic jam that culminates with more screaming and crazy cosmic stuff that sounds like out of Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain'. Side 2 is another deadly blast of Krautrock delight, similar to Brainticket's Cottonwoodhill' again with an absolute crazy vibe, addictive guitar riffs, Pink Floyd-sounding organ atmospheres and several crescendos of insane horror screaming backed by raw organ and drumming. Highly recommended to fans of Can, Agitation free, Brainticket, Magma, J.a.Caesar, Ceremony People', Vampyros lesbos, Staff carpenborg & the electric corona & Hairy Chapter.

With the demise of the group Wire in 1980, founder members Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewis joined forces to create Dome. With the assistance of engineer Eric Radcliffe and his Blackwing Studio Dome took the ethic of "using the studio as a compositional tool" and recorded and released three Dome albums on their own label in the space of 12 months: DOME (July 1980), DOME 2 (October 1980) and DOME 3 (October 1981). A final fourth album, WILL YOU SPEAK THIS WORD: DOME IV was released on the Norwegian Uniton label in May 1983.

These albums represent some of the most beautifuly stark and above all timeless exercises in studio experimentation from early 1980s alternative music scene.

Albert Puig, Andreu Ferreres, Joan Pujol, Miquel Griño and Xavier Amela, five friends from Barcelona, shared their talent to create Los Jemax in the mid-sixties. They played their own songs and covers of the bands they listened to the international radio stations. They became a very popular band in their city, especially when they were the winners of a contest hosted by Radio Barcelona. The prize was a contract with Columbia to release two singles. They recorded four songs under the direction of José María Solá, the musical boss of the label. There were published three postcards to promote the upcoming 7's. But they were never released because of intern changes in Columbia.

Los Jemax played alongside Los Canarios, Lone Star, Los Sirex, Tete Montoliu, Palito Ortega, Micky y los Tonis... and in several TV commercials. With a repertoire of almost 100 songs that they recorded in the rehearsals at the attic of Joan's family house, the tapes have been kept in a drawer for 50 years. Now, Madmua Records a releases a new single by Los Jemax with two amazing covers: 'She's got everything' by The Kinks and 'July in the sky with diamonds', by The Beatles and sung in Catalan.

It's Five O'Clock is the second album by the Greek progressive rock band Aphrodite's Child. After settling down in London the trio consisting of Vangelis Papathanassiou, Demis Roussos and Lucas Sideras starting recording a follow up to their debut album End of the World. The title track reached the charts in The Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy. It's one of those song classics which is pretty straightforward with some psychedelic pop melodies. 'Wake Up' is a cute little singalong track drenched in key changes. Demis Roussos' unique voice blends perfectly with the impressive keyboard and piano movements and Sideras' percussions. It's definitely a record worth discovering sparkling with multiple gems.

The Greek band Aphrodite's Child was an important name in the psychedelic and progressive movement. They recorded three albums and after they disbanded in 1972 the band members Vangelis Papathanassiou and Demis Roussos started an successful solo career.

With Sympathy is the debut album by Ministry, released in 1983. Ministry's members at the time being Alain Jourgensen and Stephen George. The album could be considered more synth pop and new wave in comparison to the harder Industrial heavy metal style the band developed later on albums like Twitch and The Land Of Rape And Honey. Jourgensen's fake English accent was an homage to the new wave bands he loved at the time. Three singles were pulled from the album: 'Work For Love', 'I Wanted to Tell Her' and 'Revenge', the latter of which got a video.

With Sympathy is available as a limited edition of 1.500 individually numbered copies on red vinyl.

Eight years without a studio album. Following on from our two 'Lonesome & Blue' compilation albums which showcased the music that inspired Mick and Keith, Get The Led Out picks up on the music that inspired Led Zeppelin. Led Zep were heavily influenced by their love of Afro-American jazz and blues culture. They were Inspired by Muddy Waters' Mississippi blues, Robert Johnson's Delta blues and the upcoming Rock 'n Roll from the likes as Little Richard and Eddie Cochran. When the American Jazz and Blues scene gave birth to Rock 'n Roll in America, its influence fuelled a burgeoning scene in Europe. Especially so in England. where the vibrant 'Mod' explosion gave birth to the bands that formed the British Invasion of the American charts. The Stones, The Who, Cream and of course the mighty Led Zeppelin invented and introduced the British take on White Blues back to it's American birthplace.

Jackyl's self-titled debut album offers a good amount of '90s hair metal and southern rock. The rude and crude lyrics and fine guitar riffs and hooks are a perfect formula for their rocking outlets. Their eponymous first album 'Parental Advisory' logo in the background says it all 'Meaty bones beware of Jackyl'. It's as heavy as it sounds like and with songs like 'She Loves My Cock' they're not taking a step back from what they're traying to say. Comparisons with AC/DC are easy to make, but still it's pure fun in every way. The album has sold more than a million copies in the United States only.

On HELLO PIG, the Levellers had had enough of being told to write three minute pop singles and delivered an album that new label Warner Music neither understood or liked. Their marketing strategy was....to not have one. Subsequently, band and label fell out, parted company, and the album peaked at #28 in September 2000.

Featuring the sublime hit single, Happy Birthday Revolution, the epic tragedy of 61Minutes of Pleading and the beautiful Edge of The World, this reissue will prompt the long overdue reappraisal that this album deserves.

To celebrate their 30th Anniversary, the Levellers are releasing a series of limited-edition coloured vinyl albums.

Having recorded every show on the 50 date 'Zeitgeist' tour of 1995, hundreds of hours of live performances were pored over to produce the definitive Levellers Live album of its time.

True to form, the band chose the lyrics of 'The Road' for the album title but the label, China Records, wanted the words 'Best' and 'Live' in the title to imply exactly what was in the tin. A standoff ensued until a compromise was found....to include everything....and the album was released in August 1996, reaching #13 in the album charts.

Previously unavailable on vinyl, Jon Sevink has delighted in mastering the original 1/2' analogue tapes of 'Headlights' for its debut release as a double LP.

Swedish rockers The Wannadies reached internationally stardom in 1994, when they released their third album Be A Girl.

The single "You and Me Song" became the group's biggest hit, peaking at number eighteen in the United Kingdom, after being featured on the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann's film Romeo + Juliet (starring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio).

But the magic of the album goes further, “Might Be Stars" became another UK hit, and sounds exactly like the Britpop from that time. The sound of summer is what makes this record so wonderful, from the start to the end.
