What do we need now more than ever? Exactly, OPTIMISM. This is the place we long for, the solution we need, and also the name of DIGITALISM's new album, which will be released on May 29. German electronic pioneers DIGITALISM spread the urgent energy of OPTIMISM with their upcoming album and live performances all over Europe. A DIY spirit, in-the-moment energy and a low boredom threshold - all have been crucial to Digitalism's practice since they built their first track in a studio inside a WWII bunker in Hamburg, 20 years ago. OPTIMISM is the logical consequence of the band's steady development.

Diles Que No Me Maten sind eine fünfköpfige Band aus Mexiko-Stadt, deren vom Krautrock beeinflusster Art-Rock sich zu etwas wirklich Einzigartigem entwickelt hat - drahtig, poetisch und voller Improvisationslust. Ihr viertes Album ,Escrito en Agua" (Geschrieben im Wasser), ist ihr bisher fokussiertestes und zugänglichstes Werk, aufgenommen in einem provisorischen Studio in Santa María La Ribera mit Produzent Sebastián Rojas. Aufgebaut um zurückhaltendes Schlagzeugspiel, bewusste Pausen und die spirituelle Schwere der Begräbnismusik aus Oaxaca, bewegt sich das Album mit einer gemächlichen Selbstsicherheit, die sich hart erkämpft anfühlt. Thematisch ist ,Escrito en Agua" ein Album über Präsenz, Umherirren und Widerstandskraft - Songs, die mit Mehrdeutigkeit leben, anstatt sie aufzulösen. Die Lead-Single ,Hiriku" gibt den Ton an und verbindet frenetischen Krautrock mit Zeilen aus José Vicente Anayas visionärem Gedicht ,Híkuri", während der herausragende Track ,No me" ein Mantra der Selbstsicherheit in etwas weitaus emotional Komplexeres verwandelt. Gewidmet sowohl dem indigenen Morgenstern Tunuwame als auch dem palästinensischen Dichter Mahmoud Darwish, endet das Album so, wie es beginnt: still und transzendent, mit achtsamer Aufmerksamkeit für die kleinsten Details dessen, was es bedeutet, lebendig zu sein.

Divine wasn’t just a singer, Divine was a phenomenon. Born Harris Glenn Milstead, Divine transformed drag, performance, and queer visibility long before it was mainstream. From the underground stages of Baltimore to international fame, Divine became a muse for filmmaker John Waters, starring in classic cult films like Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble and Hairspray, that redefined shock, satire, and queer cinema.

Native and Queer (The Complete Experience) brings together the full force of Divine's musical legacy in one explosive HI-NRG compilation. anthems,. Featuring the iconic anthems that shook dancefloors worldwide, “Native Love (Step By Step)”, the track that launched Divine into international stardom, “Shoot Your Shot”, “Walk Like A Man”, “You Think You’re Man” and more bold tracks. American producer Bobby Orlando aka Bobby “O” was the architect behind Divine’s most tracks and is regarded as an innovator in the HI-NRG genre, while Pete Waterman & Barry Evangeli produced “You Think You’re A Man” and “Walk Like A Man“ was a solo effort by Barry Evangeli.

All tracks are sequenced, edited and mastered by Ben Liebrand.

DJ DIE SOON is the apocalyptic alter-ego Daisuke Imamura, whose performances of masked malice have been a fixture in the Berlin underground for the past decade. His latest record My Brothel The Wind takes inspiration from Sun Ra at his most grotesque, conjuring a distorted phantasmagoria with an eclectic crew of compatriots like Rully Shabara, Sara Persico, and longtime collaborator Kiki Hitomi. Film director Hiroo Tanaka’s visual contributions in the album art, poster, and music video complete the album’s narrative, telling a story not of villainy but of phantom caprice in a dying world.
My Brothel The Wind shows DJ DIE SOON as an alchemist of distortion, transmuting the club-forward beats of his 2020 debut Kappa Slap and the seething horrorscapes of DIEMAJIN, his 2022 collaboration with Tokyo vocalist MA. Imamura’s obsession with noise stems from his upbringing in Tokyo, where he grew up hearing the deafening roar of trains every day. “The buildings were really tall, so the sounds reflected so much and it was so loud that you couldn’t even have a conversation on the phone. Hearing this noise every minute when living in this flat, it became a normal thing,” he says. While most would content themselves with avoiding loudness, DJ DIE SOON seeks to unpack its visceral potential.
DJ DIE SOON’s subterranean productions form a monstrous gestalt with the eclectic contributions of his network of co-conspirators. “Unfinished” and “Directions” are pulsating chimeras that highlight animalistic vocalizations from Hitomi and Shabara; Italian MC Franco Franco’s verses snake underneath the noisy onslaught. The tectonic textures of “Dandelion Crackers” are courtesy of multi-instrumentalist Laure Boer’s handmade stone synth. Sara Persico’s mangled vocables hang as fleshy reminders of human fragility on “SAQ4IME”; in the Hiroo Tanaka-directed music video, the track’s sonic uncanniness is made cinematic, with an ambient dread that references Hiroshi Teshigahara’s 1964 psychological thriller Woman in the Dunes.
While Sun Ra’s intergalactic Moog reached for the stars, DJ DIE SOON plunges into the depths of hell. “Everybody, Shake Your Body, We Chill At Party” feels like the sonic equivalent of a wax museum burning to the ground, rigid smiles melting into the fire. Rather than a vision of the future, My Brothel The Wind is a laugh-cry of despair in the face of a Hadean present. DJ DIE SOON confronts the world with a new hand-made mask, reborn in the ashes.

WE ARE THE BIOBOTS is an album by Michal Baj (DJ Eprom), who has ties to Silesia. It will be released on 21th January 2026, by the legendary Polish label JuNouMi Records (est. 2002). WE ARE THE BIOBOTS is an album that not only talks about technological progress, but also touches on the digitization of human consciousness in the 21st century. Although it discusses the dangers of AI development, no artificial intelligence was used in its creation.

The album features legendary hip hop DJs, including the art of scratching. The album will feature the most outstanding DJs from Poland, England, the USA, and Japan. Thanks to this, the album has a chance to gain a broader, international context. Eprom's professional experience to date has allowed him to bring together such a wide range of artists and bring them together on the album, including:

DJ D-Styles – a legend of scratching from the USA. A pioneer of the genre. Member of groups such as The Beat Junkies and Invisibl Skratch Piklz, creator of many scratching techniques still used today.
DJ Prime Cuts – founder of the legendary Scratch Perverts from London, multiple world champion and creator of unique scratching techniques.
DJ Flip Flop, Prolifix – representatives of the DJ community from the US coast.
DJ Tigerstyle – a leading representative of the DJ community in England, multiple world champion in scratching.
DJ IQ – the most successful scratching champion in the world.
DJ Miyajima – the unrivaled master and creator of the Japanese school of scratching.
DJ Melo-d – co-founder of The Beat Junkies collective, multiple DJ champion hosting a legendary show on Radio HOT 97 in the US.
DJ Ben, Krootki – co-founders of the Modulators group from Poland, World Champions in scratching.
Daniel Drumz – Polish DJ and music producer known worldwide.
Mr Krime – pioneer of DJing and turntablism in Poland.


Michal Baj is a multi-talented musician, artist, and music producer born in Jastrzebie-Zdroj, as well as the owner of the analog Eprom Sounds Studio, where tracks based on mixing and mastering are produced and gain worldwide recognition.

The inspiration for the album is Eprom's connection to Silesia. His work at the KWK Borynia mine, surrounded by heavy equipment and mining technology, became a direct inspiration for creating a musical story about people, machines, as well as the directions of technological development and the impact they have on society.

DJ Himitsu is a Tokyo-born, London-based producer and DJ, known for his understated approach and deep knowledge of Japanese vinyl and book culture. Following a debut EP of acid house on Australian imprint Lunatic Music in 2023, 'Exotic Animals' marks a new waypoint in Himitsu's artistic evolution.

On this debut full length, driving 303 basslines and kickdrums are traded in for obscure recordings and convoluted samples, which spiral and fuse to form shuffling, heady new compositions. Like shattered pottery reassembled into top-heavy sculptures with golden glue, 'Exotic Animals' shapes and juxtaposes opposing forms and fragments, with lolloping aplomb.

When not producing, DJ Himistu runs Caravan - a vintage Japanese record, ceramics and bookshop in London. It's with the same warmth, care and curiosity that he arranges his findings in the plunderous grotto of 'Exotic Animals'. In this way, stepping inside this work is like entering a remote trading post of instruments, memoirs and other sonic curios - as Himitsu stands patiently at the counter.

Following his success with Birdy Nam Nam, he has released several genre-blurring projects, including the cinematic Radiant and the deeply introspective 1978. These albums showcase a producer with a meticulous ear for detail, atmosphere, texture, and storytelling—at times overshadowing the full extent of his talent and charisma behind the decks. With this new release, he reconnects with his first love: sound collage, razor-sharp cuts, and the magic of real-time manipulation. The mix fuses a burst of tracks into a seamless journey, punctuated by precise breaks and UK and tropical inflections. The sound design feels both cathartic and transient—a subtle blend of beats and sonic landscapes that echo and dissolve into one another with remarkable finesse. From an opening manifesto paying tribute to DJ Shadow and DJ Qbert to a rawer section infused with urbex textures, recalling the energy of Company Flow, Pone crafts a narrative that is as thoughtful as it is intensely joyful—yet paradoxically soothing. Mostly instrumental but never lacking soul, Bass Culture is filled with glitched melodies and vocal samples, echoes of his recent travels to Barcelona and beyond. The project stands as a personal, tactile canvas—instinctive and unembellished—pushing back against an era dominated by digital excess. It resonates as a true statement of faith in the art of DJing, reminding us that, even as a producer, DJ Pone’s touch on vinyl remains grounded and almost magnetic, far removed from today’s passing trends.

With his highly accomplished third album If This Is It, DJ Seinfeld (Armand Jakobsson) evolves further into the artist he always set out to be, refining his emotional, club-leaning sound across nostalgic house, UKG, and 2000s-tinged trance.

Considered the most accomplished modern jazz harpist, Dorothy Ashby (1932-1986) established the harp as an improvising jazz instrument, beyond earlier use as a novelty or background orchestral instrument. She proved the harp could play bebop as adeptly as the instruments commonly associated with jazz. Presented here is one of her best albums, Dorothy Ashby Plays for Beautiful People (Prestige PR7639 - also issued as In a Minor Groove), a 1958 quartet session featuring venerable players Frank Wess, Herman Wright, and Roy Haynes.

Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure's Vince Clarke, Blancmange's Neil Arthur and the electronic producer-writer-synth-nerd Benge have joined forces to form the new project Doublespeak. Set to be released on May 29th, their self-titled debut album revisits eleven of their favourite songs from the past four decades, each reimagined and renewed in the timeless space of gleaming analogue electronica.

The 'Doublespeak' album is divided between songs from the postpunk netherworld brought blinking into the light (Fad Gadget, The Sound, Young Marble Giants), pop radio monsters ushered back down a dark stairway into the club (ABBA, David Essex, The Carpenters) and buried treasures from the 1990s onwards (The Magnetic Fields, Ed Dowie and Laptop).

Collectively, the album amounts to a shadow autobiography of the three collaborators' continuing musical education. Doublespeak is the great human songbook, synthesised.

From its very first breath, this track reshaped sound, style, and storytelling — a cultural moment that became a timeless movement. Decades on, its influence is everywhere: sampled, quoted, reimagined — but never duplicated. “La Di Da Di”and “The Show” didn’t just belong to an era — they created one.

To mark this monumental anniversary, the Hip-Hop legends decided to drop a limited 12” 40th Anniversary Edition. The release features the original versions of “La Di Da Di” and “The Show” - plus a rare demo of "The Show" as well as an unreleased street version of "La-Di-Da-Di" recorded live from The Lincoln Projects in Harlem NY) that take you deeper into the sound that started it all with the Get Fresh Crew.

Downtown Boys have pushed relentlessly forward as an artistic and political project since their founding. Singer Victoria Marie and guitarist/singer Joey La Neve DeFrancesco first met at union meetings while working together at a hotel in Providence, RI, writing many of the band's early songs about labor organizing and exploitative workplaces. The quintet is completed by Joe DeGeorge (sax/synth), Mary Jane Regalado (bass), and Joey Doubek (drums). Over years of touring, and three acclaimed albums, Downtown Boys have continued to grow as artists, musicians, and organizers. Now, the band has arrived with Public Luxury, an enthralling album that keeps politics front and center while summoning the band's most urgent and powerful sound to date. The definition of Public Luxury falls very much in line with that of the title of the second Downtown Boys LP, Full Communism. Straight up, Public Luxury means, "everything for everyone." It's the stubborn insistence that a better world is possible, while fully recognizing the horrors we witness daily, and the individual and collective responsibility to resist the nihilism and hopelessness we all feel. Sentiments like "everything for everyone," and "we will have it all" perfectly represent the cathartic, communal live experience this cadre of multi-instrumentalists create. Victoria Marie's grandmother-a monumental figure for the band throughout their existence-passed away in May of 2025, and her influence looms large over the album; the songs "No Me Jodas" and "Sirena" are crystallized representations of the love between a woman and her ancestor. Beyond the loss, rage and frustration of the present, Public Luxury points boldly towards a vibrant, open-hearted vision of both music and the world: "Our music is simply for anyone and everyone who believes in the new future we can make together," Victoria Marie declares.
