Nervous Gender’s legendary synthpunk LP Music From Hell burbles up from infernal depths to resurface on Dark Entries. Confrontational, unhinged, and unabashedly queer, Music from Hell is an unholy grail for fans of the strangest underbellies of post-punk, minimal synth, and early industrial music, and is presented here newly remastered and on expanded double LP.

Nervous Gender (de)formed in LA in 1978 at the hands of Phranc, Gerardo Velaquez, Edward Stapleton, and Michael Ochoa. Phranc, the androgynous embodiment of the band’s name, left in 1980. Following her departure, a wide cast of LA freaks would find themselves drawn into the band’s orbit, including Alice Bag of the Bags, Paul Roessler of the Screamers, the Germs’ Don Bolles, and an 8-year old drummer named Sven Pfeiffer. In 1980, Nervous Gender appeared on the seminal Live at Target compilation alongside Factrix, uns, and Flipper. With the band’s notoriety cemented, Music from Hell followed in 1981 on Subterranean Records (as no LA label would touch this material).

Side A, dubbed “Martyr Complex”, presents a more punk-forward sound with live drum salvos and slabs of aggressive synth. These twitchy, unsettling shockers ooze with the kind of snotty misanthropy that will endear them to fans of the Screamers or Crass.

Side B, known as “Beelzebub Youth”, is a live performance the band labeled "an electronic bruto-canto dissertation on the banality of spiritual transcendence." Mutant melodies cede way to synthesized clangs, whirs, bleeps, manipulated tapes, and howls of despair.

In addition to all the material from the original LP, we’re treated to a full disc of the band’s demos, the material from the Live at Target compilation, and early live recordings. Included are unrecognizable covers of Carly Simon and Lou Reed, and the Sex Pistols that are so despairingly skewed they fall into the void. This reissue of Music From Hell includes a 36 page lyric booklet, foldout poster, and gatefold sleeve with photos, flyers, and news-clippings designed by Eloise Leigh. Tackling taboo issues like sexual kinks, mental illness, drug use, and childhood molestation, Music From Hell is still surprising – even shocking - over 40 years after the album’s release. Nervous Gender stand as one of the most genuinely anti-establishment outfits in underground music, a colossal fuck you to social norms from religious strictures to gender essentialism.

Quartz, also known as Elliot Garvey, has long stood apart from the noise. A Welsh producer with little interest in visibility or self-promotion, he has built a reputation on substance alone. Interloper reflects that focus: textured, brooding, and meticulously detailed, balancing grit and clarity while maintaining the looming tension that defines his sound. The album’s title hints at Garvey’s place within the culture - present but never fully belonging - and the music carries that same sense of quiet defiance. Intense without theatrics and deeply personal without pretence, Interloper is a record that doesn’t ask to be seen, only to be felt.

“I’ve always adored the “Wildpitch” era of DJ Pierre, Roy Davis Jnr, DJ Duke and labels like Power Music It’s definitely influenced my work as Radio Slave and “Wild Life” started out as a nod to that early nighties sound. Radio Slave aka Matt Edwards is one of dance music’s undisputed heavyweights. Having made his name as a DJ in the 90s, he went on to become the king of edits, twisting pop, R&B and indie cuts into essential versions that consistently set clubs alight. Since the mid-2000s, Edwards’ originals have helped define modern dance music, tackling techno, house, breakbeat, minimal and disco whilst exploring dub, balearic sounds and ambient across the myriad of other aliases and projects.

New album by SABA ALIZADEH, a groundbreaking voice in contemporary Iranian music who blends classical Persian traditions with avantgarde experimentation.

Born in Tehran in 1983 as son of the world renowned tar and setar virtuoso HOSSEIN ALIZADEH, SABA ALIZADEH established himself not only as a true master on the Iranian spike fiddle kamancheh but one of the groundbreaking voices in contemporary Iranian music, blending classical Persian traditions with avantgarde experimentation. His music, praised by THE WIRE as "a bridge between the ancient and the contemporary", turns sound and image into powerful narratives of memory and resistance. Over the past years, ALIZADEH (who relocated to the Netherlands a few years ago) has appeared at key festivals and venues such as Reeperbahn Festival, CTM, Flow Festival, Philharmonie Berlin, Kölner Philharmonie, solidifying his reputation as a singular live performer.
After the critically acclaimed releases "Scattered Memories" (his international debut, released on Karlrecords in 2019), "I May Never See You Again" (2021) and last year's "Temple of Hope", his new album fascinates again with a unique artistic voice, weaving together centuries-old sonic heritage and the urgency of the present through deeply immersive, meditative landscapes in two epic pieces. "Rituals Of The Last Dawn" may feel like a sad or resigned title (compared to the positively fierce "Temple Of Hope"), but at the same time the highly meditative music provides a good lot of contemplative strength. Sinnamon's '83 NYC boogie scorcher 'I Need You Now' gets the official remastered, reissue treatment - complete with the 'Fierce Reprise' dub mix alongside the accapella, providing essential sampling material.

Marrying the old with the new, 'I Need You Now' is drenched in funk bass slickness and colourful chords, yet embraces a wealth of synthesized sounds from electro sequencers to synth-based strings, giving it that early '80s post disco, boogie feel. Bernard Fowler of Peech Boys fame steps up on guest vocals bringing a deep, R&B tone to proceedings, complimented by the all-female vocal prowess of Sinnamon adding their trademark feminine touch to the track.

First up on the flip side, the six minute 'Fierce Reprise' mix. Reversed rides that suck back into the skull, tape delayed vocals and spacey synth echoes blend together, as elements are overlaid and dubbed out for maximum, heavyweight, proto house vibrations.

Last up, a favourite and much used vocal accapella that's been sampled by a whole host of early house, hardcore and garage producers from 808 State and Criminal House to Ray Keith and Paul Johnson.

An essential bit of kit for anyone with a penchant for that early '80s boogie flavour.

With a history that goes back three decades, having released two classic LPs (Tradition and We Are Many) and numerous EPs and remixes on the imprint, the band deliver two brand new and exclusive versions of one of the highlights of their new LP, entitled Fly Higher.

Love Will Find a Way features vocalists Maia Avery and Akin Soul, both former members of Youthsayers - a South London based music performance and education group, taught by Soothsayers band members. With new mixes by acclaimed Sao Paulo based producer Victor Rice, it's a stepping reggae vocal duo piece with a strong, universal message asserting that despite the current divisive political rhetoric and the championing of greed over human empathy by those in power, love will always be a more powerful force than hatred and division. Maia and Akin Soul's distinctive voices blend and weave beautifully over a hypnotic groove with a fresh and poignant emotional energy contributing to what should be a future steppers classic. These previously unreleased mixes are available in both vocal and dub versions on hand-stamped 7-inch vinyl and Bandcamp only. Spider Taylor crawls over to Dark Entries with Surge Studio Music, an album of archival gay pornographic soundtracks. James Allan Taylor was born into a working-class family in Los Angeles in 1951. Nicknamed “Spider” by his father due to his frantic energy, Taylor was a natural-born guitarist, gifted with perfect pitch and a voracious musical appetite.

Throughout the 70s, he expanded his musical repertoire, playing in bands ranging from country to post-punk, like his outfit Red Wedding, while always looking for new sounds and styles to explore. During this period, Taylor also partnered with his soulmate and musical collaborator, Michael Ely. They were part of a wave of bold, young, gay couples living openly together in the years immediately following the Stonewall Riots. In the early 80s, while working at the West Hollywood gay sex club Basic Plumbing, Taylor met Al Parker, the legendary pornographic actor and director, who recruited Taylor to produce the soundtrack for a film he was working on. Parker’s partnership with Steve Scott running Surge Studios produced some of the most popular all-male films of the era. Spider’s music was a natural fit for Surge, and throughout 1985 and 1986, he composed the soundtracks for five films produced by the iconic studio. Assisted by engineer Steve Conrad and armed with a drum machine and some synths, Spider’s compositions for film veer from the expansive, reverb-drenched “Rainforest” to the Miami Vice-esque chugger “Tech.”

While Spider thought of this work as little more than a gig, tangential to his real craft, enthusiasts of VHS-era nostalgia and vintage erotica will be brought to bliss. Surge Studio Music will be available on both LP and CD, the latter of which includes a 20-minute version of “Strange Places…Strange Things!” as a bonus track. The album’s cover art was designed by Gwenael Rattke, and features stylish images from Surge Studios releases. Also included is an insert featuring liner notes by Will Lewis, a longtime friend of Spider. The music is released from Spider’s estate by Michael Ely, Spider’s partner of 43 years. The shadow of AIDS lingered over Surge; Steve Scott passed from AIDS-related illness in 1987, and Al Parker succumbed in 1992. In 2014, when it became legal for same-sex couples to marry in Arizona, Spider and Michael finally became wedded. Spider would pass away from liver cancer six months later.

Disco legend Sylvester comes to Dark Entries with Private Recordings: August 1970, an intimate collection of vintage jazz, blues, and gospel. While Sylvester is best known for his chart-topping collaborations with producer Patrick Cowley, such as “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real),” this release reveals his passion for the sounds of the 30s and 40s. In 1970 a 22-year-old Sylvester had moved to San Francisco and found himself involved with the Cockettes, the infamous psychedelic performance art troupe. Among this milieu was Peter Mintun, a pianist and record collector living in a commune devoted to retro culture. According to Mintun, “We were like hippies who lived in the twenties. We lived in a house that didn’t have anything modern in it. Nothing in it was made after World War II.” Mintun and Sylvester bonded over their love of Black singers of yore and were allotted a slot during Cockettes performances reviving the music of the Prohibition Era. One afternoon, Sylvester and Mintun recorded a number of their shared favorites using a high-end microphone a friend had acquired. Private Recordings features 9 songs from this session, including standards like “Stormy Weather,” “Happy Days Are Here Again,” and “God Bless the Child.” Sylvester’s unmistakable falsetto brings depth and a dash of camp to these familiar tunes. The recordings are casual and intimate, even capturing banter between Sylvester and Mintun; their brief rendition of “When My Dreamboat Comes Home” has the duo working out a melody in real time. In addition to their sonic explorations of decades past, Sylvester and Mintun also staged photographic shoots in vintage couture. Private Recordings comes with a 16-page booklet on firm cardstock featuring images from these never-before-seen shoots as well as liner notes from Mintun detailing his friendship with Sylvester and their experiences recording. All this is housed in a metallic silver sleeve designed by Eloise Leigh featuring a 1920’s Art Deco aesthetic. The record will be released on September 6th which would have been Sylvester’s 76th birthday, and all proceeds from Private Recordings will go to the two charities that Sylvester left his royalties after his death: Project Open Hand and PRC (formerly AIDS Emergency Fund). This essential release documents the earliest known recordings from one of disco’s greatest talents.

Talla 2XLC is celebrating his forthcoming birthday with the annual
spectacular Technoclub event along with faithful friends such as DJ

year he established his psy-trance label Dreamscape with remixes
by his psy-trance alter ego Zyrus 7. Talla 2XLC is not just a pioneer
in techno and trance music scene but also a frequently booked DJ
performing on the most iconic festivals and club events such as Nature One, Mayday, Airbeat One and many more as he knows excellently to entertain his crowds with memorable DJ sets . Talla 2XLC embraces social media with active accounts in the most of them with hundreds of followers.

During the pandemic lockdowns he conquered twitch with
his very successful live DJ sets receiving donations and support from
his global fan base. What is more Talla 2XLC is taking part in wide
variety of documentaries narrating his contribution in the development and growth of electronic music culture. He is co-founder of MOMEM - Museum Of Modern Electronic Music in Frankfurt that any electronic music follower should visit to learn about the history of our culture.

Veerus makes his Drumcode debut, after an impressive contribution to Truesoul's VA EP in 2017.

The Italian has built up an impressive discography over the last decade, dropping records on labels including Terminal M, Octopus, Filth on Acid and his own Le Club imprint. His collaborative with Maxie Devine 'My Train' was a highlight of Solomun's classic Boiler Room in Tulum, which has clocked 37 million views. In late 2017 he linked up with Brits OC & Verde for the fantastic 'Naaki' that featured on Truesoul's first Various Artists EP, ensuring he was an artist well and truly in Adam Beyer's sights.

His maiden outing for Drumcode mines 20 years of history, taking inspiration from classic trance and acid from the '90s, which he distils to create powerful modern techno works. 'Hypnosis' was a huge highlight of Beyer's Awakenings show at Gashouder during ADE. It's characterised by an engrossing call-and-response dynamic Veerus builds between the 303 acid warbles and the melodic stabs that run throughout. A track custom made for big moments. 'Apocalypse', like its name, is more menacing. Veerus constructs the work to mimic the dramatic theatre of a gladiatorial scene in a film, as heart-fluttering chord progressions, a piercing synth line and dystopian melody mark this memorable track.

Opening blast The Wriggler is a peaktime disco/house rocket, all teasing arps and synth liftoffs. Feelin Free glides into deeper territory, with lush strings giving nods to deep house royalty. Then comes Who Will Heal Us, a slo-mo sunset serenade featuring new Barcelona rising soul queen, MaYa. Things get extra-terrestrial with Need You In My Life, a deep-house jam born from a Barcelona afters with Soul Mekanik’s Danny Mekanik. Finally, Tupambame brings us gently back to Earth, dripping sunshine and jazzy warmth thanks to Tanzanian vocalist Miss Vivandra. Robin 12Tree launched Hot Piroski from his Barcelona bunker in 2018, scoring early BBC Radio 1 love with his N’Gwode edit. His studio passport is stamped by the likes of Jose Padilla, Stanton Warriors, Visage, Keith Flint and more. Whether as one half of Bubble Club, founder of The Backstage Sluts, or Slyde co-pilot, he’s brought Balearic vibes to Fabric, Bugged Out!, and far-flung festivals from Australia to South America - often as The Prodigy’s tour DJ. ‘Something More’ continues their on-point production flow. Six 12" vinyls containing a total of 18 unreleased tracks inspired by the sounds of Cosmic Disco of Lazise (Verona, Italy), where Daniele Baldelli was resident from 1979 until the end of 1984. The six covers, taken together, form a unique artwork that shows the COSMIC logo interpreted by the graphic studio "Drudi Performance", the top in the Racing Design, creator of the helmets of Valentino Rossi, on this occasion became deeply involved with the music world.
Chapter 5: Space music atmosphere in KATA SANDI, a fusion of Italo Disco electronics and Moroder influences with a vocoder to interpret the melody. DIOXIDE: an electro funk with psychotic and tribal influences. After a grand opening ESAEDRO starts to fly in space in Tangerinine Dream atmosphere.

“Daniele Baldelli: A Cosmic Life” is a documentary that tells the life and career of Daniele Baldelli, a pioneer of Italian and international dance music. The film pays homage to the creator of “cosmic sound,” a musical genre that revolutionized club culture in Italy and worldwide. It traces his career through archival footage and testimonies from artists and producers, showcasing how his vision influenced entire musical scenes.

The film, along with its soundtrack, highlights Baldelli’s ability to blend electronic, funk, Afro, rock, ethnic, and experimental music, creating a unique sound that has made four generations of young people dance in iconic venues around the world.

The record primarily includes new tracks specifically created for the film and the dancefloor, alongside his classics such as “Isotropo Funk,” “Funk Me Again,” and “Diffrazione” which are now difficult to find on vinyl. It also features an unreleased track produced for the film by his trusted collaborator Marco Dionigi.

Rising Dutch talent Deniro (aka Reynier Hooft van Huijsduijnen) returns to with a
double EP of original works. The Tape Records member previously appeared on the label as part of the concept albums.

'Mendoza' is an 8-track quest into the spheres of polarity and tension. Anxious distortions jitter in controlled spaces, angular melodies disfigure warm tones and frenetic cross rhythms flutter through minimalist forms. Contrasting messages are weaved together with precision to facilitate a dialogue where dancefloor function and cerebral stimulation interact.

Deniro navigates his way round vintage gear with a meticulous accuracy, held together by an intuitive ear for timbre, an ingrained passion for Detroit soul, and a firm understanding of sonic balance.

Dimi Angelis presents ANGLS 15, delivering four heavy, direct machine tracks with a punk
attitude.

The A-side opens with "The Lust of Flesh", a layered, psychedelic tool that gradually spirals into chaos. "Purgatory" on A2 takes a more spacious yet brutal approach - distorted percussion and a relentless, building clap create constant pressure and tension.

On the B-side, "Deadly Sin" ventures into sci-fi territory with a rolling low end, percussive
bleeps, and eerie atonal pads. The record closes with "Vanity", a hypnotic, straight-cut bleep
sequence fired on repeat, punctuated by classic 909 hats and sinister pads that rise and fall.

When Brazilian producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Diogo Strausz arrived in France, he already carried an impressive legacy. Known for his collaborations with the New York label Razor-N-Tape and for producing Brazilian legends such as Gal Costa and Marília Mendonça—whose tracks have gathered millions of streams worldwide—Strausz quickly made a name for himself among an international audience. His productions have also been remixed by acclaimed artists like Yuksek and Ron Trent, further cementing his global reach.

After two critically acclaimed releases on the French label Goutte d’Or Records (Flight of Sagittarius, 2022, and Samba From Outer Space, 2024), Diogo Strausz now naturally joins Favorite Recordings for a new chapter in his musical journey.

On this new album, Strausz pays tribute to the golden era of Brazilian Disco-Funk from the late 1970s and early 1980s, drawing inspiration from visionary producers Robson Jorge and Lincoln Olivetti. The result is an organic, ambitious, and deeply groovy record that celebrates both the vibrant dance culture and the rich musical heritage of Brazil.

Faithful to Favorite Recordings’ analog spirit, the album was crafted using vintage studio gear, capturing the warmth and depth of classic recordings reminiscent of the legendary Estúdios da Sigla sessions in Rio de Janeiro.

The explosive track “Ele é Artista”, featuring Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart (Voilaaa, Mr. President, João Selva, Uptown Funk Empire), is a standout moment—a dancefloor-ready bomb that channels the joyful energy and irresistible funk of modern tropical productions.

With its sun-drenched grooves, jazz-funk sophistication, and boogie flair, this album confirms Diogo Strausz as a master at blending timeless Brazilian soul with contemporary elegance.

DJ Homicide is a celebrated American DJ, musician, rapper, singer, record producer and radio personality. With a career that spans more than three decades, he has left a lasting mark, mostly as a key member of the multi-platinum band Sugar Ray, though he has also made some fine solo moves. And he backs that up here with a couple of full-fat jams on CA to get the new label underway in style. 'Pause Lion' starts things off with some raw, guttural vocals and low slung boom-bap drums that are direct and edgy and on the flip, 'Ghetto Scenario' rides a more smooth groove with some ragga vocals that call to mind the best of Sean Paul.

Funkyjaws Music is back with more sounds to get those mouths and asses moving. It comes from Elado, originally from Poland, and an artist with a 30-year obsession with his craft. 'Love' is a big-hearted disco pumper with jangling riffs and bluesy vocals. 'Happy Days' has a similar vocal but more raw and guttural and offset by female harmonies. 'Benko' cuts back with a more supple, sun-kissed and Balearic sound with some nimble piano work bringing plenty of spice. 'Higher' is a smoochy 80s-influenced disco sound with vibes to spare.
