Stiff Little Spinners Vol. 9+10 Release info This is the end, my friend. 10 LPs, 24 different artists, 61 tracks, almost 7 hours of music. With Stiff Little Spinners Vol. 9+10 we will release the last two volumes of the housey techno compilation series as a double 12 vinyl on 24/11/2017 via Hold Your Ground, Audiolith's new sublabel. The intention of Stiff Little Spinners was always to keep the party going and most of all to keep it interesting. With every new release, we introduce new artists and almost always new genres - shoo-bi-doo house, rumble tec, abrasive electronica, stress ambient, you name it! Stiff Little Spinners Vol. 9+10 showcases new and known talent from Hamburg to Berlin via Warsaw and Texas. Side A The first side of the four starts with Ben Böhmer and Antoni Sierakowski who get straight on it and pick you up with around 124 bpm and loopy hypnotic perfect deep house. We then slow down a little with Piotr Bejnar who gives us a dreamy slow-jam masterpiece that can only be described as the intonation of a summer longing daydream. The first side is definitely for the MDMA kids amongst you. Side B Side two starts off with Thomas Atzmann, who seems to only produce progressive house operas these days. This nine minute epos will take you on a trip through time and space, it tells a story of tension and precariousness.

L_cio DOC Records welcomes L_cio for a beautiful full-length album entitled 'Poema'.

L_cio is a Brazilian artist who brings his own flute playing to his music. He has previously collaborated with the likes of Portable on the huge hit 'Surrender' and is a live act who has held residencies at plenty of key clubs in Brazil. He's also toured all over the world from Egg London to Robert Johnson in Frankfurt and released on labels like Perlon, Soul Clap Records and D.Edge. His eight-track album is an emotive affair with deep house grooves embellished with his own spine tingling instrumentals and flute.

'Paqe' kicks things off with five minutes of springtime sounds and fluttering flutes that carry you off into clear blue skies. 'Canto' is more driving, with crisp drums and synth stabs all getting you into a groove. 'Forte' then drops into techno mood with powerful kicks and busy snares then 'Complet' re-sets with two minutes of blissful flute lead ambience that is utterly calming.

'Poema' is another beautiful interlude with floating synths and shimmering synths and 'Avante' brings back house drums with dramatic synths and icy hi hats. 'Canto2' again blesses you out with more exquisite flutes and some melancholic organ work and closer 'Lagoa' is a dreamy track with animal sounds, flutes and languid chords all encouraging you to get horizontal. .

Seductive and cinematic soundscapes between ambient, drone and indie-neoclassical music: these are the best words to describe Hior Chronik's style and his new album released on 7K! in December 2017. 7K! is the sister label of !K7, dedicated to cutting edge musicians and composers in neo-classical, modern composition and experimental music. On this limited 12, Hior's music is reworked to melodic club tunes by Budapest based & uprising producer Gnork & New Yorker Lauren Ritter on the flipside. Gnork recently had his tune 'U' included on Lone's DJ Kicks & has been releasing on Lone's label Magicwire, as well as Unknown to the Unknown, Black Venison or Crow Castle Cuts. Lauren Ritter is an active member of Brooklyn's underground, organizing events with ReSolute, playing coveted slots at institutions like Output and Cielo, and opening for respected talent such as Raresh, Moderat, Thomas Melchior, Zip, Kate Simko to name a few.

From his Saint Denis apartment, and with the help of his machines, Labelle has laid the foundations of an electronic maloya, modern and deeply rooted in its home territory: La Réunion. On 'univers-île' his latest album released in September 2017, the sound of the Creole Reunionese language played a key role. On 'Post-Maloya", Labelle release a fascinating EP of introspective trance music. Post-Maloya EP is characterized by vivid dream-like journey through which traces a path of exploration. Here you will find the maloya stamp, which is Reunionese traditional music, both in the rhythms and the instruments used, like the valiha. This traditional tubular harp from Madagascar is played by Vola on the track 'Jaojoby'. Vola was taught by Rajery himself, who is widely considered as master of this instrument. This track is an homage to Jaojoby, king of Salegy, a popular musician in Madagascar. The hypnotic sounds evoke distant dimensions and resonate like shamanic incantations whose aim is to gently lead us towards the trance. As the title suggests - 'Post-maloya' is the exploration of new musical processes mixed with the use of traditional maloya instrumentation. This is an appropriate name for this new opus, which is more electronic and percussive; carving an experimental path between electronic and traditional music. In parallel with the creation this EP, the Regional Conservatory of Réunion Island has given free reign to Labelle to create a series of live performances which he played all around the island last month, including an original creation linked to his expression of 'Post-maloya' supported by an ensemble of eleven musicians from Réunion Island's regional orchestra.

Milan based collective Just This are proud to present the 'Absolute Infinity EP', a joint release from Netherlands-based producers Sinfol and Octual. Featured in this package are two remixes from Gerd Janson prescribing a heavy dose of acid. Title track is a stripped back groove with a looping synth lead that wanders through ricocheting drums. For his first remix Gerd muffles the framework of the original, making room for a floating melody and warm lead, whilst the 'Acid Only' version takes the components of the original and throws them into a bath full of acid. Closing off the EP is 'Wire', a moody dancefloor cut for the after-hours.

The new year on Exit Strategy starts with the second strike from Fideles.Cerchio, the title track, really works the elements of suspense and tension over it's slow burning progression. On the flip Distorted Foam & Panorama both fuse dark late night vibes with a hypnotic lightness.

Refix-up look sharp: Pets boot down the doors of 2018 with this generous five track version excursion. Five of the label boss's most distinctive and decorated tracks from recent years get the treatment from five fittingly big names; this is how it's going to go down... The one and only Roman Flügel takes the lead with a wonked-out trip down 'Basic Colour Theory' lane. With a sly switch on the kicks and full emphasis on the alien encounter feels, his trippy take on 'Don't' sets the perfect creative benchmark for what's to follow. Dig deeper for a bumping, stripped back warm and jacking twist of 'It's Happening' by the currently unavoidable Rutilance founder DJ Steaw while Counter Records' Pional breaks down their recent jolt of euphoria 'Rave History' and rebuilds it into a slinkier, house affair, repurposing every spine-tingle and skin-ripple Greg and Voitek coded into the original. Deeper again we're treated to an exceptional twist of their Green Velvet collaboration 'Keep On' as LAWLER injects a springy, molten momentum to the elements with a salubriously loopy machine funk feel. Joris Biesmans' TVe imprint returns for it's third installment, this time featuring it's eponymous founder front, center and recording under his own name. Led by a forward-thinking electro remix from the ever-versatile Man Power, it's another firm display of synth-led versatility, brimming with confidence and charisma. 'Angry Baby' is an irresistible pressure-pot of stomping house, as playful as it's name and as demanding as its imaginary infant protagonist, with a truly hypnotic, elastic breakdown proving irresistible in a club context . Man Power's aforementioned remix is less loopy, more analog, with his well-tooled production technique pushing the record's texture into altogether more cosmic and overwhelming territory, led by wailing synthesis. Back to Biesmans for B2, and a more acidic, almost unnerving vision unfolds throughout 'Connecting The Dots', which does just that, linking futurist, Michigan influences with a more floor-focused, European aesthetic.

After releasing SPACE CONTROL an intergalactic journey into synthesizers, back in 2012, the Theremynt duo went on to release a successful, if steady, stream of EPs, including 'Robotique de l'Amou'r and 'Vampiros Discos' (a tribute to Brazilian filmmaker Ze do Caixao). With remixes coming from the likes of David Carretta, Acid Washed and Club Bizarre, these were playlisted by scene DJs such as Marvin & Guy and Ivan Smagghe, amongst others.

Now Yann and Eva are striking back with their second LP, Parallels.

It's a record that sees them changing their colour palette and mood, but one that's still haunted by ghosts that lurk within their synthesizers and drum machines. The 10 tracks still exhibit Peel's ever shifting vocal style and Yann's sophisticated arrangements. But the second LP oscillates between ballad and dancefloor, landing between cosmic disco influences, Krautrock and other progressive techno sounds. As a bonus, the album also features a cover of famous 80's anthem Self Control. (Raf & Laura Branigan).

When Daniel Kyo was producing 'Galaxy' in his studio he stood up and felt it. Following several months of what he calls a "musical reset", he knew he'd hit something special. After releasing music for a decade, Core might be the boldest step in his career. A new identity in which all his influences finally come together into an absolutely fresh perspective. Melodies are still the main driving force of the five cuts in 'Galaxy', but the approach is more raw and heartfelt, injecting the kind of vivacity that determines if a track it's simply a product of it's time or if it becomes timeless. Borrowing elements from the cosmic side of techno, the darkest corners of trance and the glacial atmospheres of Synthwave, all of the tracks in this EP ooze the kind of immediacy and transcendence you can only find in the best 90's dance music. Driven by is interest in astronomy, Daniel says he tried to achieve an "outer space feeling"; we can only add that embracing the void was never so gratifying. Herald of an hedonistic melange of funk- soaked electro pop and guitar-riddled synth music, sitting somewhere close to acts like Ween and Junior Boys, Alexander Geiger is about to break a eight-year hiatus with the drop of his debut album under the newly-founded moniker of Fahrland. A release that both encompasses a healthy dose of the discoid tropes from the Firm era but also aspires to split with a segment of it, geared towards exploring further undisclosed fringes of his shape-shifting sound universe, 'Mixtape Vol.1' is the fruit of a decisive move from the sleepless Berlin to the peaceful countryside landscapes of Fahrland - a lushly forested area near Potsdam which you'll have understood played an essential role in Geiger's longed-for return. ALEX is a dark, haunting and brooding synthwave record that sets the night on fire, taking you from darkness all the way to the shining lights of Broadway. With hints of cyberpunk, outrun and other 80's inspired retrowave influences, ALEX has developed a true signature sound that is funky, groovy and totally rocking. X takes you on a futuristic, electronic music trip that's filled with nostalgia and suspense. Artist bio: Originating from Edinburgh Scotland, ALEX is a Scottish born electronic music producer, composer and DJ. After spreading his sound to every channel and label possible, ALEX broke through in the most significant way possible. If you get the attention of Playmaker and NewRetroWave in the Synthwave scene, you're doing something right, and ALEX's unique approach to composition and production led to his debut release with NRW, the 'Blood Club' EP. And things haven't slowed for the young producer, with two more EP's and an album since his debut, each showing another side to the artist. After the release of his Drive inspired EP 'Youth', fans of the powerful vocal tracks 'Rebel of the Night' and 'Youth' can get excited for the pair of major budget music videos ALEX has in store, with filming having taken place in Russia and New York City. ALEX grew up listening to the likes of Daft Punk, Justice, Underworld, Chromatics, Deadmau5, absorbing the sounds of Disco, House, Hip-Hop, and Rock, cherry picking his favourite elements to blend into the new retro haze of his own material. He also cites film composers, such as Disasterpiece, John Carpenter, Vangelis, Johan Johansson, and John Williams.

Fourth release on Nitsa's label is a very special one. DJ Fra and Shelby Grey, two of the residents of the legendary club in Barcelona, are joining for the first time ever in the studio. At first sight 'Death Proof' looks like a simple DJ tool, but is way more than that: while keeping the same elements for a long time, and just using a beautiful pad and a tuba alike heavy bass, it manages to sound completely fresh and classic at the same time.

DJ Fra is 50% of Ferenc, who released on labels such as Kompakt or Pornflake. Shelby Grey has his own imprint, Holographic People, and he also released during the last years on several record labels (B-Pitch control, Factor City, Natura Sonoris, Record Union).

On the flip we have a remix from El_Txef_A, one of the most prominent electronic producers in Spain. With releases and remixes on Permanent Vacation, Hypercolour, Mule Electronic or his own personal adventure, Forbidden Colours, Aitor Etxebarria brings 'Death Proof' to schizoid areas, providing a remix where lo-fi techno, acid and a mystic spoken word recording converges without being too messy, but keeping a raw and crazy 90s rave feeling. Most surely one of the weirdest bangers of the season.

Finnish band Jesse makes unsentimental and innovative music. What you hear on 'Fluids', released as a 12inch picture disc album on Hoga Nord Rekords, is the sounds of four creative brains' journey into the music universe of the future. Their music is influenced by earth and space - Jesse's astral and cosmic disco is prospective, totally boundless, and vibrant of life and blood. The production sounds luxurious and helps the psychedelic qualities to shine through the sound.

Jesse, who with their first releases some ten years ago played fast and arrogant synth based music, now picks up influences from afro beat, funk and ambient but they've kept the electronic core of their sound - simple chord structures rest upon cool synthesized waves of sound, like a glider carried upwards on the thermals between the summits of the Andes. Soft, pliable and mighty!

Jesses music is dreamy but not unworldly and one thing that makes them special is their ability to place the listener on the edge of their safety zone. There, in the frontier, they explore the possibilities of cross over music.

Marco Resmann returns to Watergate after a productive stint at the Red Bull Music Studios in Cape Town with two stellar cuts featuring local heroes Deep Aztec and Black Soda. Tack on a remix from the one and only Oliver Huntemann and another revision from Resmann himself and you have the 'Babylon Side' EP. Teaming up to kick things off, Resmann, Black Soda and Deep Aztec embrace the cultural sounds of Africa's organic percussion and vocal prowess to create a tour de force tune perfectly balance between flashing club lights and vast open skies. Following suit, 'Abadala' sees Marco again with Deep Aztec for a lush ride into deep emotional spaces by applying mesmerizing syncopated rhythms and spellbinding vocals ideal for deeper or more sentimental dance floor moments. Up next is Techno legend Oliver Huntemann who, playing after Resmann earlier this year at the 15 years of Watergate event at Warung Beach Club in Brazil enjoyed his set and the two hit it off, so logically he was asked to lend his trademark sound for a revision of 'Babylon Side' and he twists the original into a heavy Techno belter complete with sinister sonics and fever inducing sirens. Wrapping things up is Marco Resmann himself with his own take on 'Babylon Sides' and delivers a wild and twisted version of gargantuan low end and psychedelic shimmers of the original vocal resulting in a killer tune with a ton of attitude.

»Waggons« marks the third Motip White release on Dorfjungs. After the two previous EPs »Lywer Bent« and »The White EP« this one feels drunken yet still more defined. Motip White delivers four thrilling tracks composed of colourful and warm techno, house and electronic hybrids. His EP contains bass driven dance songs as well as cautious and charming anthems. While every song has got its special elements with the typical Motip White sound, they all work equally well on the dance floor and at home. The smooth and calm fourth track ends the vinyl but is actually caught up by the euphoric digital bonus »Simia«, which brings the EP to a surprising though satisfying (digital) end.

'The Muse' Intergraded is a new label started by Midland to focus on releasing music by new artists, whether unknown, emerging or established but working under a new name. The idea for the label came about after being sent unreleased music and ideas by a number of artists over the last year. London-based, Belfast-born blogger-production duo Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson need little by way of introduction. They've released one absolutely killer track after another, snaking through everything fromdeep disco edits to moody two-step to classic New Jersey House vibes with incredible ease, on some of the most exciting labels out there: Throne of Blood, Under the Shade, Domino, Love Fever and now, Aus Music. This EP sees the pair working in collaboration with fellow Northern Irish producer Ejeca (aka Garry McCartney), as well as the inimitable Serge Santiago (in his Omar Odyssey guise), with Panorama Bar resident Steffi rounding off the release perfectly with a superbly crafted remix. Their blog Feel My Bicep continues to weed out an astonishing breadth of untapped and under-appreciated tunes and edits, even proving to be a popular destination for DJs looking to beef up their set-lists last minute before a gig. Their most recent single, $tripper was the top seller on Juno & Phonica for many weeks and with this new EP they look set to continue this seemingly endless run of on-point dance-floor bombs.

At the vanguard of Greek electronic music, Anatolian Weapons, an alias of Aggelos Baltas, has garnered praise from the likes of Lena Willikens and RA. This is a deliberately dancefloor oriented release, with a host of long acid laced tracks, and some surprises. The titles offer a subtle nod to a recently passed DJ and polymath, and the remixes give a fresh feel to Aggelos’ tracks, with Serbian selector AASKA and Coma World on duty. Following on from their 2017 ‘Welsh Music Prize’ nominated debut ‘ Life in Analogue ’, Cotton Wolf are back with a brand new album. ‘ Ofni ’ (Welsh for ‘Fear’) will be released on 4th October on vinyl and digital formats.
Set against a thematic backdrop of social uncertainty, the album’s darker material is simultaneously imbued with anxious paranoia and hopeful positivity. The new tracks from the Cardiff duo showcase a bolder production with faster tempos and purer electronic sounds, alongside hypnotic, abstract and melodic ideas inherent to their previous release. Whilst the bulk of the album is instrumental, the title track features an ethereal vocal contribution by Adwaith’s Hollie Singer.
Brought together through various musical projects, Llion Robertson and Seb Goldfinch discovered their mutual appreciation of electronic music, as well as their love of film and TV soundtracks. Through Cotton Wolf, the pair aim to create organic, intelligent soundscapes that provoke equal measures of thoughtfulness and danceablity. Seb’s background in classical composition and arranging (BBC National Orchestra of Wales / The Gentle Good) combined with Llion’s work mixing and producing (Super Furry Animals, Gruff Rhys, Aldous Harding, James Yiull) , leads to an expansive, unique approach to songwriting and the wider collaborative process.
