The second record on Pen & Paper contains two Session Victim original tunes, demonstrating the duo's trademark taste for sublime sample composition.
Smile is dominated by a heavy drum set that paves the way for an assortment of smaller and bigger funk loops, eventually joined by a vibrant lofi chord.
Mourn sees a moody blues sample float on top of the creamiest synthpad, echoing in and out while telling it's dark, old story.

Session Victim's new label adventure Pen & Paper sets it's sails with the boys' first original track since their 2017 album Listen to your Heart. Puzzle builds an intense groove from an array of mechanical and organic percussion and chunky 12 bit chordstabs over a haunted pad and noise backdrop. Closing the A side, VRIL takes the tune far out into deserted wasteland, steering his drumloops over chilly soundscapes towards a lynchesque string horizon. With not one but two versions, Iron Curtis claims the Flip all for himself and, well, excels, excels twice. B1 hits with everything a breakbeat can hit you with and it brings that exact kind of bassline along. Euphoric retro arps flush everything into enigmatic breakdowns to bring it back out and further. Detroit Lost Tapes is the third long play of Delano Smith. A collection of unheard and lost tracks from his bulging archives. The tracks were recorded in the early 2000's and carefully restored by Delano and Yossi Amoyal. As you'd expect, the quality threshold is exceedingly high throughout, with the veteran producer delivering cuts that fuse the melodious and dreamy vibes of deep house with the rhythmic snap of Motor City techno.

Portuguese artist and Berlin resident, Diogo makes a debut appearance on Eliptic with some slickly executed rave-indebted workouts, teaming up with Rhadoo that brings the special element with his personal interpretation of 'Disko Boy'.

'Muscle Memory', a delightfully loose and rolling fusion of slipped minimal grooves, a track that fits perfectly on a late after hours, it's simply an immersive chunk of dance floor hypnotism.

'Disko Boy' has a rhythmic structure that works as a vessel for insanely catchy synths, as tasteful as it is infectious - scene-stealing minimal at its finest - ending with a great message for all ravers (we won't spoil it here, of course).

Rhadoo's remix of 'Disko Boy' fits into the narrative, offering up a warming, dreamy and picturesque track that effortlessly blur the boundaries between styles.
