LTGL turns the original completely inside-out, inserts heavy bass and switches themes more then you can count.
LTGL is a Jamaican-Polish hybrid beat-maker from Belgium. Originally a guitarist, he never found the band mates he was looking for, so he started producing in the summer of 2011. Flash forward a few years and he's playing abroad on a regular basis, made it to Low End Theory (Los Angeles) and played Boiler Room (twice). Taking into account that he can count The Gaslamp Killer, Flume, Ta-Ku, Joe Kay and Lefto to his early supporters and you just know you are dealing with a very promising musician.

After last month's »Busted Moniker« EP from Quarion, Retreat is thrilled to announce a new 12 courtesy of house music's most energetic duo, the incomparable Session Victim! The aptly titled »Two Man House Band EP« is the lads' first record since their 2014 magnum Opus »See You When You Get There« and perfectly transcribes the energy that Session Victim pour into their incendiary live show. Tailormade for a night out in the club or a joyous day at the festival, the »Two Man House Band EP« once again prooves that Session Victim are unstoppable in their pursuit of the ultimate groove! »Summer Games« is an ode to that most festive of seasons and could easily hold the claim of being Retreat's »biggest« track so far. Built around an Hypnotic organ loop, »SummerGames« completely blurs the lines between house, funk and soul : rolling breakbeats, catchy vocal snippets and a very groovy bassline are the core elements of this anthem that could rock any party. Yet Session Victim add a slight twist in the form of a melancholic string motive that appears in two chiseled breakdowns. It's a little reminder that summers do not last forever and that one should enjoy them while they last ... Flip the record in order to dive into the deeper realms of »Black Cream«, a more reflective track for the late hours. With its jazzy (almost broken) beat, guitar licks, rhodes pads, subtle percussion and ethereal vocals, »Black Cream« is the soundtrack to an exciting underwater trip with Matthias and Hauke at the controls. Thanks to the captains' lively drum programming, the track flows effortlessly and we're treated with many surprises along the way before a gradual rise brings us back to the surface. »Finderlohn« is a smokey downtempo workout which finds Session Victim digging deep in their collection to demonstrate their prowess in manipulating samples.

Could Ellen Allien and Thomas Muller be crowned the new dream team of tech-house In all modesty - with their current collaboration and the resulting 12" Free Nation the two long-standing label colleagues have delivered four absolutely killer tracks. The basic framework initially came about in Ellen's living room. Ultimately the tracks were completed independently of one another in Berlin and Thomas' previous home city of Paris. It is remarkable how a common starting point can lead to such different results: the Grande Dame of tech-house has her puppets dancing with no inhibitions as she mixes freaky noises with deliciously overdriven Roland SH-101 synth lines in 'Free Nation' and Jupiter 6 synth lines in Delta Zoo before launching an all-out assault on the ears with an explosive mixture of straight-up, bone-dry, old-school beats. This creates a sumptuous retro-techy sound that still throbs with the energy of the present day. Thomas also takes a very punchy approach to his edits of Free Nation and Delta Zoo. Contrary to Ellen, however, he often leaves space between the straight-up, bone-dry beats for trippy atmospherics and subtly dispersed house elements. These lend his tracks a certain laid-back elegance, but without diminishing their raw power in the slightest - without doubt four genuine floor-fillers and an extremely promising artist liaison!

Having made his label introduction with his remix of label newcomer Villete's "Rillia", DaRand Land gets to spread out and show off his unique brand of euphoric and uplifting deep house on his debut EP for the label, 'Discover You'. The title track is classic DaRand Land, with bright piano chords, buzzing organs and a thick Chicago house bass line. Siren-like pads fade in and out from the periphery, as electrifying percussion elements come into play. Frank & Tony take a turn and apply their signature style onto the former track, adding a chunkier kick with bright as day claps and hi-hats to propel the track through the opalescent haze draped over the melodic elements. On the flip, "Marcela's Sense" is a blissed out, head down late night affair. Cosmic pads swirl around glistening keys and repressed organ chords, as toms bounce among the steady hi-hat ride, lulling the listener into a state of euphoria. The EP closes out with the atmospheric, peak time Detroit house cut, "Souls Awash". A serpentine bass line runs the show amidst swelling pads and in-your-face kicks and percussion. As with all of his productions, the track shines in the smaller details that float in and out of focus throughout, lending the track's weightier elements an even greater sense of gravitas.

Valioso015, refreshing sound from our friend and talented artists called Sithòu. Joining the Valioso family in 2015, his track "Baequm" on our Valioso & friends VA was already a little preview regarding his skills in productions.
Sithou delivers a solid two tracker, starting with "Oso" a very special track consisting an impressive guitar as the main motif. Taking a look on "Delia" including a memorable vocal and an hypnotic atmosphere, LIZZ reshaped this tune into a beauty with musical influences from his romanian heritage.

It's destination Romania for the next release on the burgeoning Infuse label with IULY.B taking the reins with his 'Harmonics EP'. 'Romance' delves deep with its subdued bass line and off kilter percussion edging the track into hazy territory.

'Supersonic' ups the ante with a sweeping, undulating synth percolating throughout whilst 'Sine Harmonics' is a total gem, with its fresh and unique vibe making it truly stand out as something special.

Following our last VA release label heads Dudley Strangeways & Michael McLardy return with a full 4 track EP. Spanning from the dubby realms of 'Spycatcher' through to the club ready 'Tumult' this record encapsulates the current sound of Leftback Records whilst providing a cross section of tracks to suit various time slots.

Adis Hotic, better known to the Underground Electronic Music world as Duky, has been in the forefront of cutting edge, timeless, innovative, daring productions, and this release appropriately entitled It's Getting Real' is no different.

It's no secret that Duky draws inspiration from other popular genres and effectively fuses them seamlessly into his music, resulting in something that can can best be described as deep, groovy, Minimal/House with a chunky Hip-Hop twist.

Starting on the A-side, this release begins a journey into human emotion and psyche, a journey that starts exploring a feeling of Reflection and Nostalgia with the originals It's Getting Real' & Endless Thoughts', Both showcasing a mesmeric melodic arrangement, which layers eclectic pads in perfect harmony with the groove structure of each of the original printed on this side. Add the use of a sultry vocal sample as showcased in It's Getting Real', the use of some exquisite organic Jazz instrumentation in Endless Thoughts' and that ever effective deep thick syncopated bass line, further contributing to the Nostalgic vibe....

On the flip side, Duky continues this journey into the exploration of the feelings of realization, acceptance & joy with the originals 4 Da Soul' & From The Beginning'. Both continue to showcase a flawlessly executed fusion of organic elements of Motown, Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop in such ways resulting in two deep, chunky and groovy productions. A sense of joy and acceptance is explored in 4 Da Soul', when the sultry Motown vocals and a chunky 'four to the floor' beat hits syncopated ever so delicately with a warm round pluck bass line driving the composition through from start to finish, while sense of realization and acceptance, gets conveyed and further explored with From The Beginning', a smooth Hip-Hop instrumental, bringing this journey a befitting culmination.

QUIET DAZE is the softest cut, synth washes and dubbed out voices suspended over an all-enveloping bass pulse.

Choppy electro beats form the backbone for MOST U P as metallic notes and percussive hits spin off into the stereo field.

Beatdown is the name of the game on the flip, as PLUS and VIOLENT/MIND GAMES both ride a 4/4 thud under trip-inducing hats and dubby textures. Aleks' music is mirrored in detail by the beautiful sleeve art - this EP is the full package.

RDV3 brings Deep Tech boss Duky to the helm with his track Chunk up the Groove. 'Run Along', the eps' vinyl only track is a superbly quirky roller and shows a side of the artist we've yet to see with a melancholic and thoughtful streak imbuing proceedings. 'Raggs' is a stripped back roller, flecks of affected vocals poke through giving the track a tripped out feel.
'Those People' round things off nicely, with it's chunky beats and skippy percussion bringing to mind the more classic side of Tech House from years gone by.

Doublet is the production moniker of friends and musical partners Tomoki Tamura and Tuccillo, previously releasing together on other labels, they have come together to form the new eponymously named Doublet imprint as a channel for their own music. Tomoki and his Holic Trax label have long been serving up solid house music whilst Tuccillo has conjured up numerous Beatport chart toppers on labels like 2020Vision, Visionquest and Holic Trax. Here their unique style brings you back from classic house music to future minimalism and is sure to fill you with joy. Up first is the title track, a charming house shuffler with woozy synths, light footed percussion and skipping rhythms that give an off kilter and deep dancefloor vibe. 'Brother Other' is a slightly more physical affair with lumpy beats, tense synth crescendos and stiff snares that really encourage you to shake your limbs. Lastly, 'Buri Planet' is a deep and sensual number with clever vocals samples adding an element of pained soul, rubbery bass bringing warmth and golden synths and acid squelches building yet more character.
