Following on from his second long player, Romanian artist Mihai Popoviciu's distinguished 2016 offering 'Home' is set to undergo a weighty four-part remix project, with remixes from Steve Bug, Kevin Yost, Sascha Dive, Tuccillo and more. Mihai Popoviciu: "The album's called "Home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home." With 'Home' gaining the attention and picking up support from the likes of Ryan Crosson, Luciano and Cesar Merveille, the Bondage-Music team now welcome to an array of talent to the label for 2017 as the LP is deconstructed and reworked across four brand new packages, with Part One dropping in early May. Part One is opened by Poker Flat boss Steve Bug's hazy interpretation of 'Focus', which floats effortlessly amongst precise drum work, subtle vocals and rich chords.
Next Up, Pornbugs & Dilby serve up a classy rework of 'Sunshine' by utilizing the originals dubby atmospherics and laying the focus on a rolling, deep lying groove, before Peter Makto & Gregory S unveil their minimal yet emotive remix of 'Data On Data'. Bondage-Music head honchos Pornbugs prep the labels next release for early April comprising three original tracks and a remix from Mihai Popoviciu. Since 2006, German duo Pornbugs have been pushing their minimal yet ambitious dance floor orientated house music through clubs across the globe, with their label Bondage-Music acting as a catalyst for forward thinking music. Bondage-Music also works as an outlet for other talented producers including Romania's Mihai Popoviciu and inmotion music signee Markus Homm to further develop their sound. Fresh from a string of early 2017 digital releases from Frink and Sous Sol, April sees Bondage-Music's first vinyl offering of the year, kick started with the subtle and melodic cut "When You Are gone", which takes a deep groove and laces it with a plethora of soft synths and atmospherics. Mihai Popoviciu then reworks "When You Are gone" into a different entity, rewiring a headier groove into the track with raw-defined hats, building further tension with tight synth stabs and ethereal pads. "Innocent" then takes tribal tinged percussion to new depths, fuelling it with booming kicks and flourishing chords, further intensified by swirling vocals. A pure dub aesthetic then shines through "Maritza", as saturated drums and a rumbling low end provide the skeleton for swelling synths to meander alongside spiritual vocals, closing out the package.

Dudley Strangeways & Michael McLardy's Leftback imprint has long been a reputable source of discerning house and techno. On their latest, they remind us just why they've become such a trusted label, with their 14th vinyl-only release emphasising the fact with some aplomb. A collaborative effort between label head Dudley Strangeways and prolific German producer David GTronic, the Diminution EP is a potent reminder of both producer's talents and is a typically eclectic listen to boot.

Opening up the release is the sounds of the title track. A fast-paced, albeit relatively minimal effort, it's made up of few parts but still commands the listener's attention courtesy of its many oddball motifs and an underlying baseline that really provides a spark. A delicate yet intricate track, it's the sort of weapon that will brilliantly bridge the point between the night's more down tempo and peak time moments. TIJN then comes correct on the remix tip with a brilliant remix of the latter. The British producer has been seen his work crop up on a host of esteemed labels recently, and this effort is another that'll slide neatly into an already impressive discography. More frantic than the original, it calls on its charming melodies to produce an ethereal, hypnotic track that will work wonders on a large system.

The B side then kicks off with Melee', a delicate track that's imbued with gentle, sun kissed motifs from the off. Reminiscent of classic Mathew Jonson tracks, it's nothing if not an intriguing antidote to matters elsewhere. Culminating the package is the sounds of label boss Michael McLardy, who perks up with a slamming remix of Melee'. Drawing on the original's emotive sound, he whips the intensity up several notches and leaves us with a track that's notable for its ability to slide into any part of a set. Filled with a range of emotions, it handily emphasises all that's great about this release.

Uruguayan producer Ema Remedi makes her first appearance on the label with three original cuts spanning from deep atmospheres to raw dance floor beats showing us her unique approach to house music.

Fresno, mysterious new project will release Loosen Up 001, setting the imprint's sound direction uniting the label dual love of refined house grooves and modular synths on this inaugural four track EP.

The next EP on CCDC comes from Owen Ni. The 19 year old from Alabama shows up with some deep
tunes that ride the line between house and techno in his EP entitled Studies'.

A1: Adolescence - Chunky percussion begins the experience quickly followed by morphing chord
stabs that give of a bright feeling of energy. The percussion changes as the stabs make up the
headlining space, later a vox chords come in to help fill out the tune. Meanwhile a pulsating bass line
is riding so subtly in the underneath the brightness.

A2: Running By The Beat - Deep chord flow while the kick drum slowly appears to establish the
groove. A voice is heard meanwhile the baseline is pulsating. Minimal percussion is heard, yet really
it on the slow build until the entire groove is established

B1: Running By The Beat (Whim-ee Remix) - Whim-EE decides to take it into straight beating
territory. The tempo picks up as the distorted kick drum wangs the woofers. Percussion comes in
slowly, and an acid line takes up the main attention of the track. The vocals are in audible, however it
fits the feel of the idea. Sparse elements continue to make surprise appearances, as the chords are re-
freaked.

B2: Studies - Swirling chords scrape through the air showcases Owen's emotions. In beat down mode,
the percussion comes in slowly to establish a groove. The percussion is low and really for those
heads that like to rock those slower hypnotic waveforms.

For its second release, the French record label is delivering 4 house traxx from its founders Real J & Jus Jam (aka Jam For Real), Kerstone and a guest : Evolve. As always, the vinyl comes with a strong themed artwork with a hand drawn palm tree on the label.

Unscene Record's debut 12-inch release, 'Theme of Roman EP', features three modernistic tracks from Grecian artists
Kostas Georgoudis and Alex Dimou (in a B-side collaboration). A1-Theme Of Roman (Original Mix) initiates the quest by
creating minimalistic soundscapes of a cinematic nature, translating to listeners as a prismatic chemistry of iridescent
textures, dub, and pitch-shifted voices. A2-Palouse (Original Mix), provides a discourse between vintage aesthetics and
futuristic dynamism, rendering a more abstract and atmospheric composition. On the flip side, track B1-Mozy (Original Mix)

Sebastian and Chris have been close colleagues in the music scene since they both started their journey about a decade ago. Since then, they have joined forces on this magnificent release that includes two new original collaborations and two remixes by a couple of their favorite artists, Alan Castro and Coriesu. Both tracks, 'Alligator Alley' & 'Ode tu Udo' feature hints of afro-cuban rhythm patterns with the use of instruments like the cajon, congas and the udo drum to name a few. These sounds combined with punchy kicks, rolling bass-lines and melodic synth work are sure to reel in the listener closely.

Frag Maddin's wizard like studio techniques don't need no black magic - just solid ingredients, being boiled in his studio cauldron. In the process, the old becomes the new again. This time, in its most musical form for Kakudo Records yet. His EP is a magical kaleidoscope of sounds and feelings that work their charms on our souls, brains and hips. Think Chicago, think NYC's kinky trax of the early 90ies, think silly amounts of bass and think flourishingly funked out synths making for an individual musical language with Maddin. Timeless sounds! This one rounds off the nervous and flippant, overwhelming energy of Frag Maddin's beat and chord worx while bowing down to his funk, rap and house-routines. Bullish is an agile fighter. Beware - or you miss some of the punches coming in!

A2: Teehaus
This ceremony churns the goods from the very depths. Classic house in a raw, bassy, dirty warehouse manner. Seering vocals keeping the tension and demanding synths that slowly but surely unfold th energy - like boiling water opens the teabud!

B1: Point 0
A track that serves a basic backbone to the array of tunes here. Classic house, bowing down to Kakudo's Records beloved early nineties. Every sound a puncturing pressure point again. Machine grooves hammer home the message of this EP that has no fillers but offers raw fun(k) throughout!

B2: De Wizard
Quirky, flirtatious, somewhat trancy chords fly on high. While reminiscent Detroit sounds feed your brain and the bass tickles your guts. De Wizard's recipe is to conjure things in time. Take yours and observe, for building up tension is clearly one of Frag Maddin's best tricks!

Bleu Nuit (BN) is glad to welcome back Ghini-B — half of Nice-based duo Gabardines (BN02) — and his Over By The Corner EP on the occasion of the fourth release of the label.
With Over By The Corner, Ghini-B stays in line with Bleu Nuit's breakbeat and minimal musical identity.
On the A-side, whereas Streets Ain't Gonna Die For You (A1) drives you with its twitchy rhythmics and voice samples, Buchholzweg (A2) unveils straightforward beats and a rough kick drum.
On the B-side, MRLHT (B1) bears a similarity to the musical structure of both tracks of side A while introducing ethereal chords, whereas UK's Morning (B2) appears rather minimalist.

Mihai Popescu kicks off a new label, Steppin' Motion Records, with two of his own brilliant tracks. The Romanian artist has been a key part of the scene since 2012, releasing on labels like Soulsity, RORA and Bass Culture. He has a slick electronic sound that is here for all to here on these two new cuts. Steppin' Motion is a record label based in Paris and managed by Swoop. It aims to promote music as an Art, as something beautiful that gets your body and soul in Motion. This first Ep is in two parts, showcasing both sides of the label: the first part is the most dance oriented, whereas the second part will be more soul / beauty oriented. The amazing artwork comes from Vesod, who is an Italian Street-Artist painter from Turin.Selfsuficient is first and is ten minutes of slippery house music with lovely chords and melodies all making for a warm and infectious groove. It is colourful, loose and rhythmic stuff that oozes a futuristic sense of soul. Neasteptat is deeper, with rubbery drums and woodpecker like sounds all weaving round each other to cast a spell on those who hear it. These are two terrific tracks that connoisseurs of minimal house are going to lap up.

Minor Planet Music's fourth release by SUKAZ. Where thought and concept are intertwined with light and sound Where cosmic shudders become Music. Where categories are obsolete and there is only impression.

Romanian artist Dragutesku's "Convalescent" steadily builds from clicks and crackles to full speed rumble, squelchy bass paired with spacey pads and crisp percussion. Cali native Rithma responds with "Watsonville," thrusting the ripped-cone kick to the front before the softer side slides beneath the rhythm for an all-night drive. Russian producer Saktu starts the flipside with "Veidi," a neon-soaked breakbeat floater pulling the low end out for the midsection's chirrupy synth-chat before turning on the jets. From Berlin via Budapest comes Giash's "New Things", a frictionless ride on a hypersonic rail across a bubbling, tonal landscape.

A previously unreleased track from the 1990's DAT archive puts you in a 'Jazzy Mood' and starts the B-side of the E.P., which ends with 'Somewhere' deep, jazzy and minimal.
