Mark Picchiotti’s ‘Pump The Boogie’, originally released in 1998 under his Fondue moniker, is revived for 2020 dancefloors with a brand new 12” remix package on Glitterbox. Picchiotti, a Chicago native, has had an impressive career that has seen twenty five #1s on the Billboard Dance chart and a nomination as one of the Top 40 remixers of all time. Opening with Brooklyn boy and Razor-N-Tape founder JKriv’s remix, a red-hot groovy interpretation, spicing up the track with retro keys that bring the funk, followed by his Accapella. On the flip Picchiotti’s new Re-Pumped Mix of ‘Pump The Boogie’ keeps the groove ever-lasting with its infectious bassline and undeniable, jam packed, musical hook. Closing out the release Seamus Haji delivers his club-ready remix, with expertly-executed drops sure to get a hands-in-the-air reaction. With a package as sublime as this, there is no doubt it will be lighting up Glitterbox dancefloors and beyond.

In the previous reissues we talked so much about this fantastic piece and "Marie", a very cinematic and supportive song, that now it is appropriate to dwell on the re-visited version of Danilo Braca that extends beautifully on the AA side of this new remastered reprint. Danilo who lives in the big apple often frequents Ibiza, perhaps also for this he has been able to exalt the most rhythmic elements of "Shadows from Nowhere", putting the beautiful falsetto beats to excessive movements, just like the waves that wash themselves on the sandy beaches of the White Island. His teacher Mario Gentili from Layer Bows added a beautiful arrangement for the strings and his Italian-New York collaborator Alvise Marino spread some fragments of guitar powder on top. That's it. 9 minutes of pure bliss, but also of catchy rhythm!

Queen and Disco are back with a two track record " Nothin' Fancy EP" on their own imprint . On the a side we have the slower of the two tracks "Lets go all the way" a brass filled disco delight staying true to its original form. Flip to the b side and you are welcomed with a percussion laden groove that is up on tempo as well as excitable vocals with everlasting shouts of "be yourself".

Another rare nugget culled from West Ends incredibly influential back catalog. "There's Never Been Someone Like You" is a smoothed out soulful Disco jam and a Paradise Garage classic! Produced by the mighty Kenton Nix whose credits include working on records for Taana Gardner, Gwen McCrae and The Treacherous Three among many others and featuring the exceptional vocal talents of underground Soul singer Bobby Youngblood.

Kenton Nix was something of a prodigious production talent who worked on numerous independent and major label projects and was a good friend of Larry Levan and had the honor of hearing his rough mixes and versions through the Paradise Garage sound-system which helped shape the end result of the records he was involved in. "There's Never Been Someone Like You" has always been a popular and sought after 12" among Disco / Boogie / Funk collecting aficionados since it's release nearly 34 years ago in 1980 and continues to be an influential record now in contemporary dance music. An utterly essential Disco-groove!

This is the very first time this record has been re-issued and this pressing features both the long "dance" version and shorter 7" mixes of the track just like the original pressing from 1980. It has been re-mastered and re-pressed with the permission of and in conjunction with West End Records, New York City.

Disco pioneer and mix/production legend John Morales leaves his signature mark on his version of these two modern disco cuts cooked up by Philadelphia's Michael The Lion and Brooklyn’ Amy Douglas & Steven Klavier.

After the success of 'Funk Train' and 'Get It On', we wanted to push further and deeper and make an EP. As we started working, we knew there was one song that could be a successor to 'Get It On' - a song about overcoming hard times in our own personal lives. We wanted a chorus and a message that would burrow into your subconscious and become a kind of mantra - 'Find A Way'. Our incredibly talented friend, the vocalist Steven Klavier, was the perfect collaborator for this, and we three wrote something to stand the test of time. When struggles find you, and times are hard... reach down deep, look to the light, and “Find A Way.”

TwICE aka Patrick Gibin established himself as a selector to be reckoned with through his Black Aroma re-edit series, and now he brings his penchant for deep cuts and dusty reworks to the RNT catalog. Stretching over the A-side is Sunrise, a bouncy sunny synthy affair, seemingly made for summer rooftops and pool parties. On the flip, Searching updates a woke soulful 70s anthem, and Take Flights loops a boogie instrumental with hypnotic simplicity. Re-edits done proper.

Following hot on the heels of his acclaimed 2nd album 'Solar Nights' German producer Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets, returns to bring some much needed warmth to the winter with the release of the 'Golden Cage' EP.

Featuring three brand new instrumental tracks, the EP sees Bernhardt venture into more introspective territory, eschewing the more upfront pop direction of recent collaboration with Panama, 'Electric Blue', for something softer and more intimate.Â
Easing us into the EP, ''offee and Feels' is both classic Satin Jackets and aptly titled. A comforting blend of warm synth pads, gently unfolding arpeggios and plaintive guitar all wrapped in soft gauzy textures, 'Coffee and Feels' is just the thing to kickstart your day on a mellow autumnal morning.
'Meridian Gateway' meanwhile delivers the kind of optimistic yet wistful melodies that Bernhardt has time and time again shown himself to be a master of. Built around a series of poignant piano notes the track gently unfolds and reveals itself, shimmering like the first frost of the year catching the morning's rays.
Closing the EP we have 'Mercury Moments' which injects the susurration of distant voices into the mix of sparkling melodies, echoing chimes and finger clicking rhythms to stunning, emotive, effect.
Whilst 'Solar Nights' showcased Bernhardt's skill at crafting thoughtful left field pop music and coaxing the best out of lyricists and singers alike, the 'Golden Cage' EP reveals he's still a dab hand when it comes to crafting dreamlike nu-disco, as warming as a mug of gluhwein in midwinter.

Italian producer and musician DJ Rocca (AKA Luca Roccatagliati) is back on Nang. Rocca has been around the dance music block a few times; having collaborated with the likes of Howie B, Zed Bias, Daniele Baldelli and Jazzanova. He has also remixed a whole host of artists such as Oliver Koletzki, Luke Solomon, Blaze and even Flock of Seagulls.

Now our friend gets his own spotlight to shine with his debut solo artist album, Isole.

'Isole' consists of eight eclectic songs; the steady, deep beats of 'Alcatraz','Taquile' and 'Hong Kong' juxtapose the euphoric 'Tokyo', a warm sunset of a track. 'Nassau', written with fellow Rome-based Rodion showcases sensual and percussive waves of synth, whereas 'Favignana', written with Kool Water (aptly named after an Island off the southern coast of Italy) takes you deep underwater through its distorted build-up. 'Stone Town', written with Dimitri from Paris who is influenced by 1970s funk and disco, encompasses the marimba in keeping with the beachy feel of the record. Finally, the jazzy track 'London' written with Jukka Reverberi could have been inspired by DJ Rocca's work with the critically acclaimed jazz musician Franco D'Andrea, with whom DJ Rocca created the 'Electric Tree Project' which fuses jazz and electronics.

DJ Rocca has been touring his energetic sets globally over the last few years in clubs in Berlin, Paris, London, Oslo, Bruxelles, Vienna, Zurich, Bern, Helsinki, Brazil, Turkey and Croatia. Stay tuned for more solo and collaborative venture on Nang too.

A stone-cold classic from the Yellow Productions catalogue, Freeform Five, aka Anu Pillai, revisits his 2003 project with NYC vocalist Carolyn Harding, refreshing their collaborative release ‘Strength’ for 2020. The vinyl package features remixes by two of the Glitterbox camp, with The Shapeshifters opening the A-Side with his signature funk-laden grooves, before Anu’s Freeform Reform mesmerizes with ethereal strings and lush instrumentation. On the flip, Razor N Tape founder and Brooklyn legend JKriv delivers his remix, providing NYC grooves that perfectly compliment Carolyn Harding’s spellbinding vocal. Finally, Anu provides the Freeform Instrumental, an essential club tool that illustrates the glorious melodies that give ‘Strength’ its timeless quality. Freeform Five and this team of musicians, remixers and Carolyn Harding’s indelible vocals, make this a release destined for Glitterbox dancefloors and beyond.

Originally released in 2017, and in anticipation of his new album dropping this summer, we have re-issued islandman’s ‘Rest in Space LP’ This version has the same tracklisting, but comes in lovely yellow coloured vinyl.

Istanbul-based Tolga Büyük started his solo project Islandman in 2010 and has already built quite a name for himself with a slew of self-released EPs & albums. Already prominent in Istanbul's psychedelic scene as part of live-performance band Farfara, as Islandman he builds his unique style off the rich history of Turkey's psychedelic rock movement, taking it further in his own direction.

The Anatolian tradition of fusing the country's folk music with Western influences has produced a unique legacy of sound, as evident by the discographies of Erkin Koray and Baris Manco for instance, with the guitar long the sound weapon of choice. So too for Islandman, but apart from mastering this instrument quite eloquently, he also orchestrates it into a new and different context than merely providing hippie nostalgia. By re-framing the murky and somewhat dusty Anatolian psychedelic sound with a cool Mediterranean vibe and a very Balearic-friendly production, Islandman's music is the next step in the progression of Anatolian music.

Two South African mastercuts by the legendary Senyaka Kekana. The unexpected deep house jam "Bayanyonyoba (1993)" and the illustrious soul song "Don't Judge Me Bad (1987)" are big RH favorites. Original copies are absolutely impossible to find, now released on 12inch for the first time.
Esa Williams - "I had the pleasure of performing alongside Senyaka at the Alexander Theatre, Johannesburg back in 2012 which would have probably been his last most iconic gig before his passing in 2015. These two tracks really showcase the sounds of South Africa around the early to late 80's, the influences from American synth pop and House that would then lead later into many of these records being played at the wrong speed which ultimately became the original Kwaito sound from South Africa." Kwaito is not just a form of house music, it's also about the way South Africans dress, talk and dance. The lifestyle took shape in Soweto and gained popularity throughout the cities and townships of South Africa during the nineties. In the backdrop of a transforming South Africa, this slow, loud and striking form of house music emerged just before Nelson Mandela took office as the first democratically elected president of South Africa. Kwaai meaning hot, kicking - kwaito is a style in which the sung, rapped and shouted lyrics played a prominent part to mobilise the youth and push for change.The late Senyaka's 1987 album Fuquza (Dance) was years ahead of its time and gave rise to his reputation as a forerunner of the kwaito sound. The album includes "Don't Judge Me Bad" as well as "African Rap" and "Go Away". Later, in 1993, with South Africa on the cusp of democracy and the kwaito movement about to explode into the mainstream, Senyaka cemented his position with the release of his landmark album Ma-Gents, which included the song 'Bayanyonyoba'.Regarded as one of the first African rappers, this pioneering artist was best known for his eccentric, controversial lyrics - delivered with a bold and at times funny approach that endeared him to many fans. Outside music, Senyaka also grew in popularity thanks to his roles as an actor, including in the popular homegrown film Moruti wa Tsotsi and the television comedy Ashifa Shabba. The emblematic artist successfully reinvented himself during his career, which led to divergent works. Senyaka's versatile character shines through in this release as well. 'Bayanyonyoba' is a soulful, loud but dreamy South African house gem, whilst 'Don't Judge Me Bad' is a more introverted electronic soul song.

From his roots in early italo disco , a sound that inspired him since his childhood, this mysterious producer comes out with a genuine gem of pure balearic and disco mood, among the use of real hardware and various instruments creating this classic extended disco version that sounds in an actual disco edit style, even if the song is brand new.
Leading the voice is The Huge, a magical voice and multi instrumentalist from Italy: the combo between the two is explosive, mellow and at the same time light and pure.

We’re proud to introduce “Afroderrick EP” by Voodoo Sound Club, the brand new 12” release on Mondo Groove. Afroderrick is a storming afrobeat track with special guest legendary italian trumpeter Roy Paci that originally came out on Guglielmo Pagnozzi’s Voodoo Sound Club project’s debut CD album on Cinedelic Records, “Same”, on 2011. The track became kind of a cult during the years with many DJ’s asking for a vinyl version. And here it is, in its full glory, the original itself opening the B side, followed by a solid breakbeat “Voodoo Strange Fruit Remix” by Detox, with the A side massive with another couple of interpretations, an euphoric house “Fresco Remix” done by Leo “Fresco” Beccafichi, DJ and producer and collaborator of Italian popstar Jovanotti, and another remix this time in trippy Afro style by heroes Daniele Baldelli and Marco Dionigi. You can’t miss this!

In the final chapter of the 'Theory of Flo' story, we've enlisted the services of the mighty DJ Sotofett to remix the closing track 'For Mihaly', and what a job he's done! Elbee Bad is another great underground house pioneer from the formative days of NYC house in the late eighties. His body of work now gets compiled on Rush Hour Recordings.
Like the Burrell Brothers, Elbee Bad aka Lamont Booker, is an early house producer from New York City. And the comparison doesn't stop there, Elbee Bad has also recorded under different aliases and has also remained largely unknown to a wider audience. He has also recorded for Nu Groove Records, for which he has recorded his most famous material, but like the Burrell's he wasn't a Nu Groove fixture. Bad recorded for a slew of other independent New York house labels like Bassment, City Limits, Easy Street, Red Heat, United States Of America and then there was his own LaRhon Records.

Almost 25 years have past since his first release, yet 'The True Story Of House Music' is the first time Bad's catalog gets compiled for re-release. Although the best and most prolific part of his catalog is his late 80's and early 90's output, Booker never stopped producing (and dj'ing). He is currently residing in Berlin, from which he still manages his studio and travels throughout Europe to DJ.

Prior to the compilation we release a vinyl only sampler which features two exclusive and previously unreleased mixes of two tracks which are to be found on his only solo Nu Groove EP, from which we took the title of this compilation.

This is another winner from the true history of house music.

After only a tiny time-out Cómeme can't help but remain restless and return even more internationalist than before, since this EP brings together artists from Moscow, Medellin and Cologne, as well as guests from Spain. It's a collection of tracks that translate Cómeme's ever quintessential voltage into different musical temperaments, drawing the bow from infectious semi-electronic body music and cumbia-inspired rhythm affairs to detached pitch-frenzied sequence-disco and a sphinx creature with fanfares and whiplashes.

Boogie Café enlist the expertise of Goshawk & Erik Rico to provide the goodness for the next instalment in their Boogie Café Black series. The Home e.p. houses four versions of the title track with side A serving up a piano vibe mix, alongside a dub mix for good measure. The Vibe mix layers a bassy, bumping piano line & Erik's RnB flavoured vocals behind a shuffling beat before a soulful flute line takes centre stage. On a slightly different tip the dub mix drops the flute in favour of echoed out stabs for a sparser and tougher aesthetic, readymade for the dancefloor.
Flip it over and the percussion vibe mix adds in some choice congas and bongos, combined with sustained organ-style synths and jazzy piano chords, creating a more summertime soul style to the track. The fourth and final dub mix sees Goshawk use Erik's vocals in short but sweet snippets, adding extra atmosphere to the track but allowing the piano and percussion to lead the way.

Nikolajev is a Tallinn, Estonia based producer, DJ, half of Dima-Disk with Ragnar Rahouja and co-founder of the club Kauplus Aasia and the now legendary Lekker before that.

His 'LEL' EP on Incienso is a diverse four tracker containing many moods and styles - All recorded live in single takes. From the Devo-meets-Deep-Disco shuffle of 'Plasticine', to 'Left', a song from an alternate universe where 80's movies were scored by Bunker Records - and the sweeping ambient passages that bookend them, 'Lumipoly' and '12 AM Monday' - This is an EP filled raw emotion, for raw people,
everywhere.
