Doing everything they can to pull you out of that groundhog day slump, House of Disco draft in Sound Support, a new project from Dam Swindle’s Lars Dales and long-time collaborator Lorenz Rhode, to work their wonders.

‘Clavi On The Rocks’ is all about the keys. From the emotive chords to the goosebump-giving basslines and Stevie-in-space clavinet mastery, it’s an electro-boogie whirlwind sure to give a hyperboost to any misfiring start to the year.

Next up, ‘Thesaurus Sex’ is some serious sci-fi through your hi-fi, melding punchy bass synths with funked-out stabs, soaring synthwork and a roaming-robo vox.

Piloting over to the B side, ‘Super Elevation’ hits with modulating acidic arps, hard-hitting bass rumbles and galactic melodies before taking you into another dimension with the kind of eyes closed, classic pianos that will reignite the optimism in any wavering heart.

Closing it out, ‘Enduro’ has Sound Support laying vintage loops under buzzed-out basslines and that sure-fire clav goodness, over-driven into the high heavens. Add in a healthy dose of echoing keys, fizzing toplines and space echo claps and it’s closer of epic proportions.

We live in a dance music world that constantly cannibalizes itself. Since something that once was only a sound and a feeling, got named, re-named and categorized, it became easy to reference a time, a place or a movement in a record. But: if you wanna bake a great cake, you got to stick to the recipe. Alan Dixon’s La Danza EP follows that line very well. You get Italo-House waves that would make Irma and Calypso records proud, washing over you, arpeggiated disco bass lines, boogie swag and a beautiful ambient composition that makes you dance without beats. Bent is one of the most seminal 90s duos in all of electronic music. After more than a decade and a half out of the game, the quirky outfit is back and has a whole album's worth of new music ready to go. First though, we're treated to this new package of remixes of one of their singles. Enduring UK champ Ashley Beedle goes first with a nice groove that captures lazy afternoon summer vibes perfectly. As you'd expect, Crazy P layer in cosmic rays of melody while the ever excellent Nail goes for a rollin deep house version with ear worm pads and vocals. The Somethin' Sanctified mix is for when you head indoors and begin to get down on the 'floor.

As a New Era beckons globally, Manchester’s primo Manctalo merchants – Red Laser Records – quietly unveil their latest clutch of specialist space-age kinetics. A fifth-kind encounter enabling users to bridge the continuum of dance & interaction between our Earth-dwelling selves and the inter-dimensional overlords.

Containing three brand new movements in machine music from our treasured production stable of Kid Machine, Bob SwanS and Il Bosco; it also houses an honorary appearance from revered Danish spearhead Flemming Dalum, who serves up a particle-splitting redux of a lesser-known proto-techno nugget from Belgium. Dalum’s been traversing the star-clusters on his own intrepid missions for a while, so we’re mega buzzed to have him back on the RL mothership.

Stretford based synthesizer technician, Bob SwanS has been drafted in specifically by RL head Il Bosco for his advanced skills on the patch bays. “Aphelion Run Theme”, the point of which an object’s orbit is furthest from the Sun, vividly detailing in sound the journey our collective consciousness must undergo in order to reach the Highest Elders. We highly recommend utilising this track alongside Dr. Greer’s outstanding work with extra terrestrials.

KID Machine’s celebratory, vocoder-led Manctalo message: “It’s The K.I.D” is a sonic motif to our interplanetary relatives; this cybernetic b-boy’s way of spray painting the Red Laser logo over Proxima Centauri B’s subway network in neon-blue, pyroxene paint.

Bosco lets loose with one of his most impassioned creations to date too. “We Almost Lost Oddbins” previously titled: “Save Our Scene”, a universe-wide cry for help recorded when worldwide limitations on dancing and human co-exchange were at their most aggressive; its nonetheless positive outlook inviting us all to look both inward and outward for solutions in the New Normal.

Encased within a striking monolith art print, depicting the mystic energies of ancient galaxies it heralds the now widely-accepted belief that we are in no way alone in this universe and that channels of communication between more advanced civilisations than ours have already begun…

Soul Sugar drop their own reggae version of Marvin Gaye's "I Want You". French outfit Soul Sugar - the brainchild of Guillaume 'Gee' Metenier - deliver yet another soulful reggae 12', this time a cover version of Marvin Gaye's 1976 classic "I Want You". Jamaicain native Leonardo Carmichael sings lead vocals and legendary drums and bass duo Sly & Robbie add their flavor to the mix, with two versions on side B.
Marvin Gaye's single "I Want You" was a big step forward for his sound & vision and marked a change in direction - from hip Motown Soul to a more sultry, Disco sound. Marvin's vocals are notably intimate and the lyrics are more explicit, more personal. An original soul classic, "I Want You" is memorable for its unique combination of lush harmonies, a mesmerizing groove and the apparent sexiness of the theme itself.
Soul Sugar's Discomix version combines a smooth mixture of reggae, soul and funk over beefy bass lines, designed for heavyweight sound systems. Sly & Robbie, rhythm duo known for their studio work on countless reggae classics since the 1960s deliver their version, taking us back to the golden age of Reggae, the days when it was typical for Jamaican musicians to record their own versions of American soul tunes ... Ace producer Jahno dubs the mix live and direct to tape, from his very own ' N.O.F Studio'.

Last autumn Leng Records welcomed a new name to the roster, Greek DJ/producer Lex, via some warming and colourful tracks on the label’s 10th Anniversary LP and sampler EP. Now the Athenian has returned with his first full release for Paul Murphy and Simon Purnell’s popular imprint.



Real name Alex Andrikopoulos, Lex first rose to prominence in his home city of Athens when he ran the Radical Soundz record shop during the first decade of the millennium. More recently his reputation has spread worldwide thanks to his association with Leng, a recent 12” on B2 Recordings and DJ sets that frequently join the dots between disco, house and techno.



His first full EP for Leng is arguably his most musically expansive collection of tracks to date, with a swathe of guest players – keyboardist Artis Boriss and drummer/percussionist Harold Perez most prominently – swinging by to help bring Lex’s vivid musical visions to life.



For proof, check out lead cut ‘Punta Allen’, an eight-minute chunk of organic dancefloor goodness in which Lex and his musical associates layer steel pan style melodies, spacey synthesizer flourishes, eyes-closed electric piano solos, warming chords and jangling guitars atop a heady bass guitar line, unfussy drums and sweaty pots-and-pans percussion. The track’s effortless evolution, which slowly unfurls before rising towards a gorgeous and joyous conclusion, is testament to the Greek producer’s dancefloor instincts.



You’ll find more low-slung, dub disco-influenced bass on the exotic ‘The Jamail Pass’, where mazy and feverish organ solos and rolling hand percussion provide a platform for Paqua member Alex Searle’s Nile Rodgers style guitar sounds. The track’s inherent funk – emphasized by occasional bass guitar solos and fills, as well as some tumbling synth sounds – is apparent throughout the track, something that only adds to its smile-inducing allure.



Closing out a very impressive first EP on Leng is ‘Angels of Rhythm’, a hazier, faster and more intergalactic excursion that cannily combines the low-slung bass of dub disco with the intoxicating vibes and warming dreaminess of deep house. The track’s intoxicating late-night feel is partly due to an undecidedly cosmic spoken word vocal from sassy singer Harrier Summer, though Artis Boriss’ pitch-bend-sporting synth solos and fizzing electronic noises certainly help. Driving but also deep and groovy, ‘Angels of Rhythm’ offers a memorable conclusion to a very impressive EP.

Ater a strong start from Haners, the second drop on Misadventures steps once again into the neon-lit alleyway of finest Italo disco, with all the seductive sass you could ever wish for in a party 12". On the A side, 'Aargh Money' works around a seriously funked-up rhythm section and a choir extolling the virtues of working together. It's bombastic and elastic, just the right thing to get the limbs greased up for a heated hoedown. 'Little Looks' takes things rougher and tougher, with one of those Italo basslines so nasty it borders on proto-acid. The vocals are divine here too - smouldering come hither lines that amp up the intensity of the track to 11

The Queen is dead! Long live the Queen! After nine releases on their KVK series of the Karlovak label, KVK1000 will be the tenth and final release on the KVK imprint (god save her soul). In it's place arises the new KRLVK series. While the concept series KVK exclusively featured releases from the label-lords themselves, the new KRLVK series will sport work from other artists with releases from Radio Slave, Ben Sims, and the Chicago house legend DJ Jes already lined up. First up on KRLVK is Ben Sims who delivers a burning EP of disco infused house and techno bombs.

Subtle Houzze were Boris Dlugosch and the late Gary D. The joint venture of Hamburg’s golden boy and Front resident Dlugosch and his Unit/Tunnel counterpart Gary D was like a moment in love. Written & produced in 1992, it cast the grappling statues of techno soul and deep house in bronze. Save for two tracks of the original release, albeit graced with another and previously unavailable mix of „Hemisphere“, all the glory of the future of the past is available again. Remastered, restored and reconfigured via the Running Back Double Copy series.

The good people from Mango Sounds are ready to harvest their first fresh crop of vinyl. With love and cultivation, the Mango Sound crew has produced a fine double sider with four supremely crafted cuts all in all.

On A1 Etur Usheo goes tribal on his 'Wo Ye Wa (Na Na)' slice. With subtle keys below a boogieing bass African instrumentations soon appears as called upon by a village in ecstasy. Chanting ensues luring you into the trance too.

A2 finds Whatever Charles going even deeper into the groove with his 'African Dialect'. Afro jazz at its finest drizzles its boogie onto the second round on the prestigious grooves of Mango Sounds first vinyl.
Ready to flip? Perfect! Danish Disco Dazzler Ziggy Phunk is ready to pick up the needle and lead it groove's way. 'Blues Grinder', a jazzy low key fusion piece with boogie built right in.

The last layer of the cocktail is roamed by German fusion discoists So.undso with their 'Ultrashake', an incredibly funky concoction of vibrant Disco, soulful Funk and a smidgen of electricity. Truly infectious!

Mango Sounds mean business, and this vinyl debut is bound to resonate!

A new face on Wrong Era - sounding, Berlin based duo of James Brook and Thomas Freudenthal. Three original tracks of peak-time new wave and electronic disco for the more discerning dance floor. Backed-up with a remix of the title track from label owner Franz Scala, Rodeo Star is an essential 12" for fans of chugging, synthetic Italo.

SlothBoogie’s Jamz imprint returns this July with Soul Wun’s ‘Fragments’ EP. Australia’s Soul Wun is a young skater making beautiful sun soaked deep house jams, previously for the likes of 13th Hour, House Cookin’, Feedasoul, Clipp.art and of course SlothBoogie where he returns here following his appearance on the first ‘Dancing With Friends’ compilation.

Opening the release is ‘Piero’s Strings’, merging twinkly piano lines and cinematic strings with winding bass grooves and organic drums. ‘Japan Theme’ follows next, fusing hazy brass licks, a walking bass line and jazz keys with a swinging drum groove and spoken word Japanese samples.

Opening the B-side of the release is ‘Lily Flower (Adele)’, laying focus on an amalgamation of warm piano tones, a swinging rhythm and plucked bass tones throughout. ‘Sun Lady Statement’ is up next, taking things in a more acid jazz direction via broken percussion, psychedelic guitar licks and hypnotic, poetic vocal chants. Lastly to round out the release Houseum and Axe On Wax artist Jesse Bru delivers his twist on ‘Lily Flower (Adele)’, bringing a more upfront House aesthetic to the table courtesy of shuffled drums and driving low end, while the original’s ethereal textures ebb and flow within.

Since the release of the first volume in 2019, we knew we couldn't stop there. And in 2021 we are even more excited to present the album "Drum'n Voice Remixed 2" by the legend Billy Cobham in collaboration with Italian producers and composers Nicolosi / Novecento.

Acclaimed as jazz-rock fusion's greatest drummer, Billy Cobham has dedicated his whole life to musical exploration and creative expression. Born in Panama, he has been surrounded by music. His father was a pianist, his mother was a singer and Billy started playing drums at four years old. Throughout his career he has collaborated with artists like Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Airto Moreira, George Benson and appeared on over 300 recordings, including icons like Peter Gabriel, Quincy Jones, Jack Bruce, Bob Weir, and James Brown, and to date, has produced and released more than forty albums as a leader. The first album ‘Spectrum’ is a masterpiece and still considered a reference album today.

Billy and Nicolosi composed so many songs of the highest quality and class that we immediately wanted to get to work preparing a second volume of remixes. After the release of the Little Louie Vega mixes of ‘Interactive’ we are really happy to present a sampler of the ‘Drum’N Voice Remixed 2’ including remixes from The Reflex, Dele Sosimi & Medlar, Local Artist, Pellegrino and Arp Frique.

The French producer based in London The Reflex has made a name for himself thanks to his vinyl series remixing classics of funk and disco music using the original multitracks. He gives ‘Roller’ featuring the legendary George Duke, another lease of life making us dance with his typical groove and warm sounds. Afrobeat Ambassador Dele Sosimi teams up again with Peckham producer Medlar, adding the song an infectious groove and classic 80s analogue synths dubbed out live on the original drum by Billy Cobham. The result is sensational.

Toronto's producer Local Artist, one of the co-founders of Mood Hut, gives us an effective version of ‘Let Me Breathe’ using spaced out effects, robust subbass, warm chords. A party vibe with an atmospheric touch. Niels Nieuborg aka Arp Frique, a key member of the Dutch live music scene, gives us his reinterpretation of ‘Africa’s Sounds’. A slow experimental journey full of electronic sequencers and afro disco influences. Neapolitan producer and dj and Early Sounds Recordings label head Pellegrino, reworks Cobham’s classic ‘Le Lis’ with his distinctive jazz-funk with his Mediterranean melodic flavour, where the synthesizers and acoustic instruments bring a magic vibe.

Monsieur-du-jour, Chevals, graces us with his presence for an EP of exquisitely produced edits. 'La Bouteille' opens things up with a rhythmic workout combined with filtered melodies that erupt into a summery piano driven jam. 'Under Your Command' then comes in with the classic golden era disco feel, tied together with a shuffling beat.

Flip it over and 'Fairy Tales' takes you into 80's boogie territory with those squelchy synths & irresistible vocals. Closing out the e.p. Chevals brings out the peak time, slap bass, disco stomper in 'Croisades', complete with sultry sax licks, sure to do damage to any dancefloor it's set before.

For over 40 years Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou has combined traditional Beninese music with soul, funk, afrobeat, rhumba and Cuban rhythms to create this infectious sound...

Hailing from Benin, West Africa, Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou has been churning out incendiary Afro grooves since 1966. On 'Bosq Meets Poly Rythmo Uptown,' Bosq tastefully reworks 4 of Orchestre Poly Rythmo's legendary recordings. As a die-hard fan, Bosq took a subtle approach to the project. According to him Orchestre Poly Rythmo has been a strong influence on his work and he wanted to be respectful to the original tracks. Bosq focused on making the tracks DJ friendly by beefing up the low end, rearranging and stretching parts out, and adding in extra percussion and a drum machine. The result is a 4-track EP of bumpy Afro disco, psychedelic funk, frenzied Afrobeat, and sunny soulful grooves.

Based in Medellin, Colombia, Bosq has released a collection of music on Ubiquity Records, Soul Clap Records, Fania Records, Razor-N-Tape, and more. Since 2015, Sol Power Sound, out of Washington, DC has released deep sounds inspired by rhythms and traditions from around the globe. The label's output includes Afro-Latin stompers, re-edits of lost disco grooves, heady percussive tech workouts, and other sonic treats.

Blockhead Recordings are back. This release features ANT LaRock who has been featured on some of the biggest labels in dance music today and has collaborated with some of house music's resident godfathers. Hazzaro are coming hot off the success of their track called 'Make My Day' on Erase, lastly Scott Diaz is no stranger to the top ten on any platform. He can pretty much do anything from deep, sexy, sultry house to tech house bangers and do it with style and finesse.

The Patrick Adams managed group Black Ivory scored a number of hits in the mid 70's, two of their most sought after are here together on one 12". The Paradise Garage and Loft anthem Mainline, penned by prolific disco producer Leroy Burgess has seen it's fair share of bootlegs but it's available here officially licensed and remastered for the first time since it's original release in 1976. Fans of Ron Hardy may be familiar with the break from the B side cut 'Walking Downtown On Saturday Night' as it feature heavily in his sets from the legendary Music Box in Chicago. Presented on heavyweight 180g vinyl.

Bordello A Parigi presents a compilation of demo tracks from the legendary Italo Disco icon: Federico di Bonaventura, better known as Fred Ventura. These demo tracks were supposed to remain secret until Fred started to digitalize them from tape a few years ago. Most of these tracks were part of the transitional period between the exit from his early 80's band State Of Art and start of his first solo project Actor's Studio and career as Fred Ventura. A versatile treasure of lost music recorded from 1982 until 1984 in Milan, Italy.

Comes with double front sleeve and printed inner sleeve.

Ever talkative, passionate and daring, Cerrone continues to run on desire. For him, nerves and fear will always coexist with ambition and self-assurance, an ambivalence that has enabled him to prevail.

“Right time, Right place.” This idiom perfectly sums up his experience – he’s even got it tattooed on his lower arm. He’s received multiple awards (Grammys, Golden Globes), performed a dizzying number of collaborations, tackled some impressive challenges, earned a collection of nicknames (such as the disco maestro) and has had instinctive bursts of creativity that often win the jackpot. Here is someone who has travelled across cities, countries and generations – going everywhere except the wilderness. 

Cerrone’s music has been covered, sampled and revised hundreds of times, today giving it a particular sort of status which is firmly cemented in the heart of the collective conscience. The sixty-something-year-old works tirelessly on his compositions, never recycling old formulas but instead is always striving to push the envelope of electronic music forward, a reflection of his eternal youth.

So much so that over these past few years, Cerrone has followed the path more towards DJing, at the suggestion of his record label and manager. “I got caught up in this whole reinvention game. I started putting together snippets of music to feature in my sets.

These sections then started to take shape, building into four-and-a-half even six-minute-long songs. Over the space of a few months, I quickly began to totally immerse myself in these sounds, little by little. They sounded vintage yet frighteningly current, with the kind of spirit I had at the beginning of my career, which is to create musical atmospheres rather than pop songs.” 

He continues to follow his own rules, distancing himself from marketing diktats and trends, just like he did when Love in C Minor was released. The result? The record DNA, which represents everything he put into it, all his effort, skills, old desires and new dreams, and also because he created it entirely himself, with his loyal sound engineer, Richard Turek.

“I always aim to never be like anyone else.” He puts this declaration of intent fully into practice, delivering for the first time a quasi-instrumental record which was written, produced and recorded in the space of four months. Atmospheric and filled with tension and fissures, DNA panders to the imagination, incorporating film score premises. He leap-frogs between the past, present and future, with his fascinatingly epic, unsettled sounds like monotonous electronic chants. “With this album, I reconnected with a musical period that I’d pushed somewhat to the wayside.

This was basically my whole electronic period at the end of the 70's for example, Supernature and the series of soundtracks for Gérard de Villiers’ and Brigade Mondaine’s erotic films.” 

Cerrone’s 17th album - DNA - opens with The Impact, a throbbing track of bendy entanglements all with an environmental stance. Halfway through, we’re treated to an excerpt of a speech from Jane Goodall, the world-famous primatologist and ethnologist: “Every single day we make some impact on the planet. We haven’t inherited this planet from our parents. We’ve borrowed it from our children.

If we get together, then we can start to heal some of the scars that we’ve inflicted.” It’s hard not to draw comparisons with Supernature, in which Cerrone declared his first warning about man’s impact on the planet, 43 years ago. This nine-track concept album is built on wandering contours and magnetic sparkle, from which bursts saturated oppressive synth pads (Obsession), a nod to Pink Floyd (DNA), and dramatic soundscapes (CloseTo The Sky, Experience) and clammy atmospheres that are delightedly languid.

“What if I told you that the idea for Air Dreaming came to me after watching a video of a parachute jump featuring naked parachutists? When people ask me whether I’m still inspired by love and sex today, naturally my answer is yes.” Cerrone doesn’t deprive himself either of pushing Kraftwerk’s logic of unleashing robots on the dance floor (“I’ve got a rocket”, ”Let Me feel”), as his songs appeal to both the intellect and the body’s desire to move. “Let me dream, let me see, let me feel.” What better mantra for bringing this album full circle.

After seven albums and almost two decades of blessing us discerning musical folk with the very best in disco and house that the UK has to offer, the stars have aligned and Crazy P has collided with Classic in the outer hemispheres of sonic glory. 'Truelight EP' demonstrates fully the unique and superior disco/house hybrid sound that has carved Crazy P's legend into the bedrock of both those beloved genres.
'One True Light' provides cosmic clusters of subtle beats that sparkle and shimmer, with plenty of that well-versed groove that seems so effortless to the Crazy P crew. 'In My Hands' follows some darker twists with a haunting crunching bassline and organ stabs. Topping it all off are remixes of both tracks, one by Crazy P member Hot Toddy aka Chris Todd, drawing on that memorable snaking bottom line and amping up the production with echoes of Donna Summer seduction. Keeping it firmly within the camp, co-founder Ron Basejam remixes 'One True Light', taking the tempo down to create lush, psychedelic soundscapes. There's no doubt, Crazy P are stronger and more relevant than ever.

Detroit Swindle present 'High Life', their second studio album due on the 28th May on the duo's own Heist Recordings. The heart of the album was recorded over a three week period at their Amsterdam studio in March 2017, and the release will coincide with the fifth anniversary of the label. Since forming in 2011, the Dutch duo have carved a unique place for themselves in the scene. Their sound - which merges references from multiple decades into one smooth aesthetic - quickly rose to popularity for its careful blend of soul and rhythm, taking cues from their passion for obscure records, with influences ranging from house and funk to afrobeat and soul. Dynamic live shows and DJ sets afford them a packed touring schedule across the globe, whilst their label Heist Recordings is credited with consistently breaking new artists. The album explores the intersection of live and electronic music, with much of the improvised material left largely untouched to maintain its organic sensibilities. Detroit Swindle describe the album as an 'electronic album with a live approach, combining our love for house, ambient and jazzy harmonics, making it a record interesting for the club, as well as a pleasant album to put on at home.
