Afterlife is the fittingly-named sequel to 2012's Life, and sees the eight piece group venture into deeper, darker, more urgent territory. Chanted female vocals, pitched down male vocals, wild sax and horns coalesce into something uniquely antipodean, a bluestone back-alley hallucination that NO ZU call Heat Beat - a nocturnal sex dream bringing together no wave, funk, house, techno, and global percussion.

According to band leader Nicolaas Oogjes, Afterlife explores themes of human beauty, body movement, BDSM, belief systems, mortality, immortality, the fetishisation of Australian colonial invasion and destruction of land/cultures, all sung in dynamic dancefloor metaphors.



NO ZU have existed in various forms since 2007, but have really shifted into high gear of late. They contributed the standout track Raw Vis Vision to Cut Copy's definitive 2014 Melbourne dance compilation Oceans Apart, and instigated an ongoing collaboration with NYC punk-funk icon Sal P (Liquid Liquid).

Coming up over Australia's extended summer, they support No Wave icon James Chance (of the Contortions), then play Golden Plains and WOMAD.

'We Start Over' arrived on the desks at International Feel and it felt perfect for us. Deep electronics, a lovely mood, forward thinking and a gorgeous vocal from Trudie Dawn Smith. Lots to play with from a remix perspective and a great original track in itself. Steve Cobby is a British producer, musician, composer, and DJ, based in Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire. He co-founded Fila Brazillia in 1990 and released 10 critically acclaimed LP's and produced over 70 remixes for artists as diverse as Radiohead, Busta Rhymes, Black Uhuru and A Certain Ratio. Cobby now releases music via his own label Déclassé label. His latest and third solo LP 'Saudade' was released in March 2014 and received considerable critical acclaim.

The first 12" consists of the original version and on the flip a remix by Apiento & Lx (their first track together since the underground classic 'The Orange Place' ). The remix is slow trance in its purest sense, made for lasers and dark nightclubs. It's already receiving club play and has been named by Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston's ALFOS as "one of the records of the summer". High praise.

On the second 12" the reins have been handed to Gerd Janson & Phillip Lauer a.k.a Tuff City Kids - two people making some of the finest house at their at the moment with Janson also getting massively known globally for his DJing. Their remixes are made for the clubs. The 'Garage Dub' is classic New York house that is as deep as you like and one of those hooky ones that does everything perfectly. The other, 'Private Acid Mix ' goes heavy on the beats and drops the 303 in a fine style with the vocal looped and twisted.

As you would expect from International Feel this is classy and classic club music covered from all angles from a balearic original, a deep chug remix from Apiento & Lx and the Tuff City Kids bringing the house vibe. Deep deep deep.

Dj Sounds presents Moving, a 3 tracks record made for the dancers and the Djs. Track 1 "Moving" is an elegant built around a filtered disco-ish sample, simple while very efficient. "Casa Suave" is a classic sounding House track, easy to spin and sure to please the crowd. Closing the record, "Fragments" is a bit slower and deeper with its Roland pads and bass, still very danceable.

Jakarta based Jonathan Kusuma delivers a new EP on Cocktail d'Amore Music. After his European debut on Cosmo Vitelli's I'm A Cliche, followed by a successful EP on Berlin's imprint Love On The Rocks, the Indonesian artist keeps carrying the vessel of the Far East sound. The title track Black Magic is a fat disco-tribal inspired groove that builds fast, eventually climaxing with a cloud of acid synths and mystical vocals. Japanese duo Mascaras, Chida and Cos/Mes' 5ive, straighten up the groove giving a 4/4 beats restyling. The result is a Proto-Techno, Trance influenced soundscape, for foggy late-night dancefloors.Urban Sorcery is an Italo inspired maze of proto-acid synthesizers, sounding like an enchanted concrete-covered forest. 90's house inspired Redvox is an experiment of cosmic influences. As the vocal becomes part of the groove, the long pads fuel this spaceship pushing it to the borders of time and space.

London 2016, the rebirth of underground Soulful Disco keeps unfolding with more power than ever before, and Los Charly's Orchestra stay firm and loyal to their authenticity after almost a decade its beginning.

LCO gets together with old friend, lead singer, vocal arranger Andre Espeut in order to produce their latest Soulful-Disco conveyor which is due to drop on the online shops as well as record stores under the name of "Sunshine" beginning of June.

Following the Earth Wind & Fire vibe from LCO's previous single: "All Around The World" and also paying tribute to Disco/Soul legend: Maurice White who unfortunately joined the list of "departed music legends" quite recently, here it comes this brand new release.

Vanity Press was formed in 2015 by David Marroquin to preserve and proliferate Southeast Michigan's rich history of dance music. Our first release is a 3 tracker by by young Detroit producer Julian Kendall. Cool, composed, lean neo-jackers that work as well in the car as they do in the club.

Invisible Inc's latest limited 12' brings cosmic adventurer Secret Circuit into the fold. Secret Circuit is the project of musician and visual artist Eddie Ruscha (Laughing Light Of Plenty, Blasé, Thriftcoteque, amongst others) whose solo and collaborative activities have issued forth an inordinate number of stellar releases on labels such as Emotional Response, Beats In Space, Internasjonal Spesial, ESP Institute, Exist Dance and Rush Hour's 'No Label'.

With Higher Planes Drifter Secret Circuit has excelled himself yet again. From the outset the bar is set pure and high and we're transported to far flung reaches where only Secret Circuit can take us: expanding upwards and outwards to bathe in the synthesized waves of a warm cosmic ocean. Gothic Rainbow, as the title might suggest, starts off dark and brooding like a bio-mechanical John Carpenter, and slowly evolves into what is quite possibly the most uplifting, blissful piece of music we've heard in a good while. With innumerable synths, a deeper-than-deep bass and a soaring guitar Ruscha manages to blend a perfect sound that's as emotionally warm (and emotive) as it is refreshing. Cold electronic music this is not!

Rattlesnake Jelly and Rhythmatic Generator push further out. With touches of 'kosmische', experimental lo-fi, some serious synth workouts and tripped up beats the music truly defies categorising as there's nothing else quite like it. Imagine, if you will, swarms of hallucinating microbes at a mass pagan ritual set on the surface of an old drum machine's circuit board and you'll be close.

The closing track, Memory Melt, is a thing of pure, lilting beauty. Transcendant, laidback and dubbed out, its piano, guitars, bass and space echo combine in a swirling whirlpool of colorful sound that early morning ravers on the beaches of Ibiza have only dreamed about in what is known as the vertical time shell pod: a phenomenon that appears on certain beaches once every 3 years.

After a great response to their first two releases, the secret society called Balearic Blah Blah continue to dig deep for number three pulling out secret outtakes and unexpected forgotten classics from their extensive collections. First up is 'Day Off', an uber-Balearic cut sounding like a Jose Padilla-era Cafe Del Mar classic or maybe a warm-up track for Alfredo or Leo Mas at Amnesia in that heady summer of '87. Next comes the brilliant Dub To Me', a Compass Point Studio creation mixed by Robert Palmer and surfacing for the first time here on vinyl. 'Pull Dub' on the flip is another heavy Compass Point gem - an unreleased Larry Levan outtake, with crazy dubbed out guitars and synths lacing the Paradise Garage classic. Lastly we have a great extended version of a long-lost New Romantic floor-filler from one of the UK pioneers of electronic music - one for lovers of the Greg Wilson/Trevor Jackson sound. Limited edition.

Chicago's AL & TONE are back with 2 dancefloor burners on this new 7". AL kicks things off with the groovy disco instrumental "TSUNAMI" while TONE tackles the under the radar Afro boogie jam "SUNBURN". Both tracks should garner major spins and further solidify their rep for quality.

This record is in loving memory of Vincenzo Balestrieri, "Offshore Powerboat Racing World Champion", 1968, 1970.From the first to mid-sixties the "Offshore Powerboat Racing" was emerging as a worldwide sport. Great Britain, France, Sweden and Italy were holding regular events that, along with the existing US venues, became part of the World Championship Tour. In 1968, after a four-year domination by the Americans, Italian count Vincenzo Balestrieri Cosimelli of Rome, (Dec. 18, 1926 - March 31, 2012) was able to clinch the world title by winning 5 of the season's races:
1 - Sam Griffith Memorial Race, Florida, US
2 - Naples Trophy, Naples, Italy
3 - Viareggio-Bastia-Viareggio, Italy
4 - France's Dauphin D'Or, France
5 - Swedish Grand Prix, Sweden
..and by taking the second place at the Wills International Race, England. In 1970, Balestrieri repeated his feat by winning his second title of Champion of The World.

UK house stalwarts, Luke Solomon & Jonny Rock, land on Futureboogie this Summer, with a hefty EP of serious disco vibes, backed with a truly left of center remix from DJ Fett Birger & Jayda G (Sex Tags UFO/Freakout Cult) as a vinyl only remix.



Luke Solomon has, for years, gifted the house community with countless musical gems, via his own productions and that of Freaks (alongside Justin Harris), as well as the vast catalogue of releases on Classic, the label he runs with Derrick Carter. Jonny Rock, meanwhile, has graced labels such as Wolf & Lamb, Playhouse and Music For Freaks (another of Luke's imprints), and has amassed a fine appreciation for music working behind the counter at London record shop institutions, Black Market and Phonica.



'Luca Frangpian' stomps like any classic disco dub should do, leaning on a hook that some keen ears may recognise, its funky bass lick and incessant cowbell wrapped up in guitar licks and idle piano keys. A 'Dub Mix' dispenses of the bass riff and let's the synths get all 'freaky deaky' on yo ass.



'Groovin To LA' on the flip features an understated vocal hook, filtering around vintage disco tropes of parping horns and sweeping strings, as the beats, that elicits that trademark sound that Luke has made his own, rattle away gratifyingly.



DJ Fett Birger & Jayda G takes 'Groovin To LA' on a wander to the seaside for a breezy and kitschy reinterpretation. Crashing waves and coastal sounds waft in and out of a gentle melodic rendition, the distorted yet supple percussive beats propping up the kooky Summer vibes just right.

STAR CREATURE presents this 5 track EP from Japan's CITY BABY RECORDS done by Tokyo based future funk masterminds LIQUID PEGASUS (include members of STAR CREATURE's FREAKWAY) with E. LIVE on "HEAVY SOUNDS". Slick and stylish boogie sounds that mix Minneapolis with Japan. Awesome.

The title track, Thesseus, is a stretched out Detroit infused tune with almost hypnotic yet ingenious stabs combined with a strong and moody bassline for which we know the Belgian producer best. This is definitely the kind of track that will work well on the floor and next to it. Meditations In An Emergency does exactly what it says on the tin. It's on of those tunes you put on at the end of the night or when an emergency to meditate presents itself. In addition to the two originals there's also an excellent remix of Meditations In An Emergency by the Italian producer
Clockwork (C/W). The remix focuses more on the hard edged elements of the original and morphed it into something reminiscent of early 90's broken beats/ techno.
It's clear that this Thesseus EP is a powerful extension to an already impressive discography.

Olderic and Musumeci, whose friendship and close alliance is layering on their deep passion for electronic music, are stepping up to compile and mix the sixth instalment of Compost Records' Black Label Series DJ mix compilation. Both artists steadily and successfully shaping and contributing a modern, forward thinking approach of dance music and club culture - made in Italy.

Olderic, heading from Venice, is resident DJ at one of the most influential underground clubs in Italy - CirQ - where he's got a perfect platform to shape his unique style as a DJ but also gaining invaluable inspiration for his own productions. His 'Alma EP' released on Compost Black in 2015 as well as his recent remix for Musumeci & The Element and a soon to be released collaboration with Peter Pardeike (both for Connaisseur) are state of the art house music and received support by the likes of Mano Le Tough, Âme, Laurent Garnier, Tale Of Us or Ewan Pearson to name a few. Whereas Sicily based Musumeci, also part of the project Human Machine - making big waves with their '146 EP' these days, is one of the masterminds behind the superb Italian underground label Engrave Ltd - and a top notch DJ of course!

This being said, we are more than happy that Olderic & Musumeci now teamed up to compile and mix the next chapter of our Black Label Series. The duo did a superb job digging the crates and putting their favourite tunes of our rich and eclectic catalogue into motion. Paying attention to the labels recent years true highlights as well as adding some of their personal secret weapons in form of Musumeci & Olderic Special Edits - now exclusively available as part of the compilation for the first time. Olderic and Musumeci drawing a very personal picture and show how to shift from more leftfield and disco tinged territories to modern House, Techno and beyond to otherworldly regions of dance music with this fluent yet diverse mix which is touching all the right spots and senses - on and off the dancefloor!

Introducing Felix Leifur, Dirt Crew's latest discovery, an all new, raw and savvy talent from Reykjavík, Iceland. Reykjavík has a population of just over 120,000, so the disco, hip hop and soul sampling, house music community that Felix rolls with is pretty tight knit, giving him a unique and inspired perspective on the sound. Remixing is friend of the label, Manchester's Hidden Spheres. After breaking through on our 'Deep Love 10' compilation, he went on to drop his 'Waiting' EP last summer on 'Distant Hawaii' (the dreamy offshoot of 'Lobster Theremin'). On the A, 'Berg Toppur', is a dance floor workout, a sublime balance of shimmering rhodes and vibrant arps with slamming organic percussion. 'Giving' is a spirited and warbling cut, crooning vocals and gritty horn blasts punctuate it's steady groove and loose live clap. This one's got open air written all over it. On the B-side, 'The Sunday Club' is a eclectic and somewhat eccentric jam, samples from across decades, weave together to create something altogether new. Next up, Hidden Spheres' Rocky Top' remix of 'Berg Toppur' eases in with a casual vibe, steamy drums, and a no-nonsense bass line set the pace, while the arps and elated vocals from the original sweep and soar, building to a feverish peak of sun-scorched bliss. Finally, 'Wait' sets the mood with a dusty jazz piano refrain and a strutting groove, before bringing the playful yet punchy trip home with a solid head-nodding bass line. Felix Leifur's diverse ear and distinct style gives 'The Sunday Club' EP the perfect blend of breezy summertime spirit and serious night club heat.

From Berlin via Tel Aviv comes Moscoman, the music producer behind the underground hit 'Fernandez', released last year on Eskimo Recordings. The original got praise from Psychemagik, Marcus Marr, Headman, Bottin, Red D, Rayko, Khidja and more. We invited Red Axes to remix 'Fernandez' and boy, did they deliver.

As they did on their last release, Hell Yeah once again look to offer new takes on some of their excellent recent album projects here. This new EP finds four producers tackling tracks from Tempelhof's blissful and beautiful, ambient and slo-mo work alongside Gigi Masin, namely 2014's Hoshi. Those producers are Ptaki, Balearic Gabba Sound System as well as label regular Luminodisco and the legendary Reverso 68.
First up is fast rising The Very Polish Cut-Outs artist Ptaki, who with his remix offers up a seductive and sombre number with lazy chords, gently swaying drums and a subtle Balearic feel. Dreamy vocals complete the picture, but buy the EP digitally and you will also get a bonus instrumental. Then comes the label's in house and off kilter production team, Balearic Gabba Sound System, who flip 'Buena Onda' into a deep cut bit of sunset disco with glowing arps, elastic drums and sweeping string sounds in typically stylish fashion. It's all very romantic and sun kissed and that continues with Reverso 68 aka long time Balearic stars Pete Herbert and Phil Mison. Their take on Red Venus is one that slowly builds in stature, with plenty of lush pads, cute stabs and percolating drums that really lift you up.
Lastly, Hell Yeah regular Luminodisco gets a little more broken up and experimental with his dishevelled but soulful sounding version of My Velvet Book It's slouchy like a hip hop record, but overall, like a modern take on Don Carlos.Supported by Test Pressing, Lexx, Leo Mas, Justin Vandervolgen, Phil Mison, Pete Gooding, Kenneth Bager, Kito Jempere, Akirahawks, DJ Hendrix, Andy Wilson, Hugh Herrera, Chida, Reza Athar, Tensnake

Amadeus sees it's catalog graced yet again by New Zealand outfit Chaos In The CBD. The kiwi brothers, birthed Ben & Louis Helliker-Hales, are no new faces to the label, or the wide variety of genre-bending acronyms they encompass. Having recently relocated from tropical Auckland to damp London earlier this year, the two take their productions along with them in their latest efforts, 816 To Nunhead. Title track and aside, "816 To Nunhead," is tinged with what's left of summer. A nostalgic tune built for the sun and soaked in funk. It's a track reminiscent of early french disco, almost as if built for the two robots themselves. Guitar plucks and hi hats flow seamlessly throughout the tune, aided by a glorifying vocal, "I would like to think of my music as just an extension, an extension of me of today or whatever." What emotion of freedom and escape evoked on the Aside can be contrasted on the flip, "78 To Stanley Bay," a tune built behind the every looming theme of loneliness. Accompanied by a live trumpet courtesy of Isaac Aseeli, '78 To Stanley Bay' tells us a story, or rather a journey, built behind dirty hats and delayed keys. This is a track fashioned for everywhere but the club, and we absolutely love that.

Welcome to the first instalment of the new "Disco Diva Delights" series on Ambassadors Reception!

The compilation series will focus on one of the most important ingredients that is needed to make disco beautiful: the female vocals. Yes, we all know that mainstream disco divas have been featured and covered to death and you should also know by now that the Ambassador's Reception doesn't do mainstream.

So you won't find any Donna or Gloria here, my darlings. With that in mind, we decided to dig a little deeper and unearth some gems that you might know and some you might not. Compiled by veteran digger and DJ Stevie Kotey these nuggets have been tried and tested on the dancefloor, but will also provide perfect listening at home when you're ironing your flares for the weekend.

Welcome to the Bordello A Rimini beach club! Salta & Roma is a Danish entitled collaboration between Mike Salta and Morten Roma. Having shared a passion since they were kids for Italo disco and cosmic space music when it emerged in the late 70's, the offspring in this project has natural reflections and retro elements from this legendary period of electronic music.

If this latest missive from Camp Nado is anything to go by, we're in for a scorching Summer. For the eighteenth (though mysteriously numbered 014) release on the Mancunian institution, Messers Moonboots and Boardman invite a cosmopolitan cast from France and, well, Yorkshire, to take us for a stroll through the surf. Hull's Renaissance man, Steve Cobby, takes centre stage on his label debut, collaborating with Leeds musician Rich Arthurs on the A-side epic 'Bushfarmer' before showcasing his skill at the mixing desk with a B-side remix of Penelope Antenna's sultry 'Tradewinds', which also appears in all its original glory.
Stretching languorously over the whole of the A-side, 'Bushfarmer' sees the Yorkshire duo harness the power cosmic at the heart of 'Transfer Station Blue' and 'E2-E4' to perfectly soundtrack the blazing embers of the setting sun. Over the course of a totally immersive ten minutes, the track transforms from a lone guitar to a widescreen symphony of kosmische psychedelia, slowly buildingthrough nebulous FX, frazzled sequences and skittering rhythms. As we head into the second half of the opus, the guitar drops out and the track drifts along in a hazy soundscape, before taking us home with a low slung space disco groove. Epic in any sense of the word, this is one trip you can't afford to miss.
Aficionado present another debutante on the B-side, enticing Balearic royalty Penelope Antenna (daughter of Isabelle) to grace the label with the siren song of 'Tradewinds'. A coastal serenade awash with lapping waves and gentle cicadas, this horizontal jam seems to float in a heat haze, swaying gently to a laid back rhythm while sweltering keys and gentle chimes suggest an endless Summer. Reaching for the factor 50, Mr Cobby tops a drum box backbeat with buttery bass and smooth keys, pushing the vocal up in the mix to serve up a flavourful portion of Summery soul food. Adding discofied guitar, jazzy organ and a killer breakbeat as the track progresses, the Fila Brazilia man ensures his remix sizzles until the last seconds. Officially Aficionado.

We hope you will permit us the indulgence of deviating slightly from our globe trotting explorations on this release as we pay homage to the sun. 'HIGHLIFE on holiday', if you will.

Stepping away from the edits, Auntie Flo delivers a new original track.
Sun Ritual II takes things up a notch from its earlier counterpart (released on Kompakt), banging dare-we-say-it 'Berghain techno' gives way to warm synth-laden euphoria.

On the flip, Miajica, one third of Alma Negra who you may recall from HIGHLIFE2. Here he serves up a delightfully familiar summer treat, the original being an end of the night, HIGHLIFE highlight, particularly at our annual 'Tribute to the Sun' event.

Frisbee is in orbit again. it just landed to bring three individual magic people together. Dea with his casual nature and gift to hear out the unique. Albion with his intention to find all mindriving sounds in this galaxy and spAceLex with the vision of all people dancing together to the sound which is around us. Anybody have his own understanding of music but there is one way we ride together. On this way we found out what to do. Releasing obscure electronic disco from 1977 to 1980 with the special touch of virginity. The emotion and the power these tracks have, is indescribable. Now its time to jump on the Frisbee and slide through the universe.

Truck is a buzzing analogue Moog droning bass riff over disco-tic handclap beats with CB radio vocals by the one and only frontman of the B-52's Fred , think homage to movies like Convoy and Smokey & the Bandit turned into pulsing dubbed up soundtrack to hitting the road and hitting the caffeine.
In Flagranti pump up the beats and claps and give it a NYC 80's B-Boy twist that just builds and builds in to a euphoric percussive groove in their own usual trademark style.

Ian Blevins is from England but he's quite the dude. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. On side A, meet the happy beast named Hannibal, a big room tune that ticks every box your heart may desire — bone dry drum production, atmospheric arpeggios, soaring strings and pads, a beautifully sweeping bass progression and an overall sense of euphoria; goosebumps guaranteed. On side B, Welcome Aunt Poly cools us down a little bit — stripping back the instrumentation, minimizing any superfluous effects, and layering a sparse bassline and droning synths over a laidback 808 — all to a relaxed tempo. Blevins' debut proves that from the right point of view, familiar elements and motifs can take on a new life whilst reminding us just how the rave can feel. These two songs will increase your serotonin levels.

In this installment the Future Disco team highlight their pick of the year's freshest talent to feature on their rare and sought after releases.

Never before on vinyl Lukas starts the A side off with his piano led Narwhals exclusive that's an indication of the party nature of this release. Discotexas' Mirror People - Kaleidoscope remixed by Psychemagik has been an underground synth bubbler all year and its once again available on vinyl as part of this limited press.

On the flip the underground Germanic duo Chopstick & JohnJon have their amazing secret weapon highlighted thanks to a great vocal by Signal Jacker. Finishing off this collection of not to be missed tracks is an exclusive Future Disco edit of Tempelhof's Drake.

In Flagranti (Sasa and Alex) were coming into Geneva, spinning at La Graviere where I was regularly Djing. We hadn't seen each other since New York. I'd spent a few life times there. I'd been out of my home town, living in France, next to Geneva for four years. Over dinner, Sasa asked me to play bass on a few tracks remembering my time in Konk. It turned into In Flagranti's Hi Pitch'. Sasa and Alex reunited some good New York friends, Sal P. (Liquid Liquid), Justin Strauss (Whatever Whatever), In Flagranti and myself. So after our collaboration, they asked me to do a new record for Codek. I'd been DJing at underground spots in Geneva and doing some gigs in Paris and Zurich and I was ready to make some new tracks.

Zhivago Zhivago was inspired by hearing deep house and techno tracks where phrasing that doesn't resolve after 8 bars. That started the vibe, and then I took it down to a more Cosmic' tempo. My friend Elhadj Fall is on vocals. We worked together at a small spot on Avenue C in the East Village called Baraza, where I'd spin Salsa, Soca and disco breaks. Elhadj is a wicked Reggae DJ who also played at Baraza. I asked him to do an MC style party rap like Dr. Perri Johnson on Let's Start the Dance Again (Bohannon) but in Wolof, his language from Senegal.

Zhivago Zhivago/Khidja Dub (Emotional Especial) Two guys from Bucharest who turn out inspired psychedelic tracks, melding electronics sounds of east and west. Their remix expertly sears in the flavor like a delicious one minute steak served in pita with tahini and harissa. Khidja were the perfect choice to remix Zhivago Zhivago and their mix doesn't disappoint!

Disco Touch - The vinyl version emerged out of re-working the original and combining elements from my other mixes. Moving around the 8 bar loop—listening to it on repeat over and over, I loved the way it kept cutting off the strings. More mixes coming on digital.

Disco Touch Siren Mix is produced by Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area, Startree) and Dennis Kane (Disques Sinthomme, Ghost Town). They birthed Siren out of residencies at NYC's storied night-spot APT, and the parties they produced together in APT's wake. Their unique way of playing for party people comes through in their remix for of Disco Touch. It's another reunion as I've known Dennis since his days at A1 records.
