Neon Finger strikes back! Release number four starring Midnight Runners is here! A full time ultra delicate piece of disco-funk and boogie where the indonesian band, headlined by Munir, will take our minds away. A mandatory release for all weird funk lovers.

Welcome to the ever so eighth sun-drenched installment of all that is great and summery in the Nu Disco Universe. Back at the helm after a few summers off is Slovenian superhero and all-around Nang buddy Sare Havlicek at the controls. Sare has deftly compiled and mixed a cadre of fine delights for those summer grooving nights (and days).

Things open up with an exclusive from UK based produced Blue Azure, "Wide Awake" is a prefect of the sound we are trying to encompass. Bags of sun, groove with a touch of swing. Next it is off to San Francisco for a combo of talents from The Beat Broker and Sorcerer, shimmering guitar and sparkly synths all in one package. Goldboy turn in a fine remix of the punchy and synth-stabby "La Vache De Dense" from Les Chevaliers Solex. Things toughen up for a tad with Ron Basejam (from Crazy P) giving us a bass guitar driven dance floor work out of Raykos "No Stopping".

The man himself, Sare, is next with his remix of Glasgow based The Korvids getting the summer vocal grooves firing. Also featured is a taster from his upcoming album "No Chance To Dance". Bristol based Situation are next with disco cutmeister Greg Wilson contributing to a fine stomping remix. Talking of Situation their fine remix of underground afro disco classic "Na Real Sekele Fo Ya" by Pasteur Lappe really gets the floor filling. Flanger X keeps the tempo electric with his fine "Back In Business" guitar chopped funker.

Time for some legends next, Pete Herbert joins up with Martin Denev and US House Music vocal legend Robert Owens for a big beater "Pass Me By", Australian cut-up-king Dr Packer doing the business on a remix. "Believe In Love" is a left field quirker from album kings Proper Heat. Things get plucky and bouncy next with "Arp" from the Russian contingent of Kim and Buran. Back to the US West Coast next with Grooving in Guatamala from Aimes.

To round things off it's a slice of slick psych disco from Italtian Billy Bogus and his Caribbean House project. Before a fine vocal stomp from Sheffield based Hiem with their bass and sax driven "Highlife".

Repress of one of the most rare Italo Disco releases under license of Manlio Cangelli - MC Harmony Publishing company with Audio restored by Manlio himself part of the only official retrospective on the legendary musician and producer.

Wish Key was created by Manlio Cangelli, musician and composer, founder and producer of Scotch also very active at that time. The first and best known song is Wish Key Orient Express. The song was composed by Manlio Cangelli with the text of Lorella Ghilardi (Blue Russell) and was designed to be the new song of Blue Russell.

On the advice and insistence of Severo Lombardoni then patron of Discomagic Records, who would have preferred a version with a male voice, the interpretation of the song was given to DJ Massimo Berti, while the female choirs were made in the study by Blue Russell. The union Cangelli-Ghilardi at that time had also created Penguin invasion of Scotch, Over and over Jerry Moon, New Dream Clay Pedrini and many other songs.

Orient Express was recorded at study Regson Milan in October 1983. The subsequent promotion of the song demanded finding a female figure because Blue Russell was already committed to the promotion of another of his solo album (I wanna fly away, written always from Cangelli and Ghilardi) was responsible for this presence Silvia Merelli, wife of Massimo Berti. The denomination Wish Key was filed by Manlio Cangelli and Lorella Ghilardi at the patent office of Bergamo shortly after the release of Orient Express ten-year.

In 1984 Massimo Berti created and published with the name Wish Key (with permission of Manlio Cangelli, trademark holder) the song Easy way, with the participation of Silvia Merelli as backing vocalist. The following years saw the publication of other works by Berti as Last summer and others, with good sales success and television appearances.

'Nyako' is our 7th vinyl release here at OtC and it's a big one. South African producer 'Behr' created 'Nyako' together with Makadem during a Santuri Safari session at Sondeka Festival in Kenya.

The E.P is 4 cuts that build in brilliance from the original which has extremely broad appeal. Indian producer 'Daisho' delivers a straight ahead 4 x 4 house groover, south-London production duo Modified Man swing their analogue machines into action for a heady synth adventure, which is just a bit broken. Berlin-based duo of Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad (Hans Reuschl) are the ideal pairing to merge technology and tradition together as AFRICAINE808 bring up the rear with a balearic sensation to round off the EP.
Makadem is a talented musician and vibrant performing artist from Kenya. He's a figurehead of the Benga scene in Nairobi. His stage presence and powerful vocal delivery, had him likened to the legendary Fela Kuti. Makadem innovates by bringing traditional African instrumentation, story telling and contemporary production methods together.

All Day I Dream invites a few new names to the labels summer sampler season.
Alongside a few familiar ones too like Lee Burridge and Lost Desert with their much anticipated 'Absent Without Thoughts'.
Gab Rhome and Superlounge keeping it groovy.

Right after we finished putting together our long sold out DISTANT WAVES compilation back in 2014 we started working on volume II. What we couldn't expect is that it would take us three whole years (and a lot of research work) to complete it, but you know what Well worth the wait and the efforts!
This time we have assembled a collection of songs that share some common factors: they all were made in the 80s, they all feature synths and they all are extremely sought after, rare as hell or just previously unreleased. And previously released or not, they are all considered 'instant classics' by DWR. There are obvious style variations as each band here is unique but DISTANT WAVES II is quite more homogeneous than its predecessor, hence we were able to tag it as 'AN 80s SYNTH WAVE COMPILATION'.We have the upbeat, danceable minimalism of STANDING OVATION, BORIS DZANECK, STÖRUNG, DOPPLER EFFECT and FACTORÍA RIBBENTROP. The cold, moody melancholy of BROKEN TABLES and LA VALSE. Virtually unknown acts like THE SIXTH SENSE, SEEING RED and ALMOST ANYONE, heavily underrated new wave giants like GREY PARADE and PUPPETS OF MANKIND. An unreleased synth pop masterpiece from ALMOST ALONE here, an unheard 7' rendition of a worlwide dancefloor smasher by NIGHTMOVES there. A total of 14 amazing tracks, all 'instant classics' as mentioned, that wouldn't fit in just an LP so we had to create THE ADDENDUM II also, an additional 7' to accommodate two of the songs.In every DWR release you will find darkness and light, energy and melancholy. DISTANT WAVES II is obviously no exception. As we always say, 'there's something for every soul here, for every moment'. Not only is mike "father of the year", but he also has records. Deep crates, as they say. Mike Feel Love will keep the chin scratchers at bay for a while, seeing as the original track has zero internet presence. It will also keep the dancers happy. A scrappy little edit keeping the sloppy instrumentation in tact , because it's the best part of the song. Drums fall out of time , or drop out altogether. The synth arps fall out of synch which makes you wonder if that's an arpregiator, or some maniac playing live. The other side is a very old edit mike dusted off and is guaranteed to make the chin scratchers take a bathroom break- seeing as it is a top 40 hit from the 70s. Which doesn't mean it's not a burner.

You'll be hailing the next rickshaw to the discotheque.Originally discovered in the climactic final scene from a 1982 Bollywood film, 'Vidhaata' is a strangely alluring edit for the clubs that retains much of the dramatic feel from the closing scene itself.

People Must Jam's ninth record is from one of our favourite DJs and producers. A guy who has a ridiculously large back catalogue and in our opinion it is a crime that some of his records haven't received bigger recognition.A true master of House and Hip Hop music, Kid Sublime has been putting out amazing records since 2001. His own label Dopeness Galore literally does exactly what it says on the tin. Even before we launched People Must Jam's label we wanted Kid Sublime to be a part of it. Now finally we are stoked to present this EP...
Four serious cuts for four different vibed floors - look out! First up Kid's homage to Techno legend Ben Sims with 'Bang Like Sims' a driving deep Techno groove. Strong percussion, deep stabs and that unrelenting beat are going to ensure this one gets some love on the harder edged, heavier dance floors. 'We The People' heads a little down the tribal route with some afro inspired percussion, haunting samples and that kalimba! Dropping a really infectious riff before beautiful piano melodies drift in and out of the mix. Wonderful stuff.The title track 'I like 'em dirty'; we feel, is a lesson in proper Deep House.
Classic sounding house beats, little guitar licks, deep stabs and the vocal sample combine for this perfect house cut. Massive.
The EP is rounded out with another cut in tribute to the legend that was Kenny Hawkes. Another master of his craft - Kenny sadly now passed on but his spirit is well and truly alive in this fitting tribute. 'One 4 Kenny' features strong percussion, low bass, deep stabs and slamming beats = cracking stuff.

NYC Disco legend Danny Krivit returns to the editing block on behalf of seminal Miami Disco powerhouse TK Disco. With 45 years in the DJ game under his belt and having played endless gigs all over the world during that time it's safe to say Mr.K knows exactly what he's doing when it comes to the re-edit thing! With unprecedented access to TK's vaults Danny has been turning in some stellar reworkings as of late and the cuts included on this latest instalment keep the quality sky high!
Peter Brown, a Chicago born singer, keyboard player and producer who had numerous hit singles and LP's (he also wrote Madonna's "Material Girl"!) was a popular Disco artist who harnessed his own original style merging his sweet singing style with synths and modern studio techniques. "For Your Love" listed from his 1977 debut LP "A Fantasy Love Affair" on TK's Drive imprint takes up side-A on this 12" and is treated to the DK edit magic. Danny gives us a subtle, respectful rework of this quirky LP cut, a synth driven midtempo number. Perfect for the early set or the late, late night encounters, sublime!
On side-B we have a slightly more uptempo jam in the shape of legendary jazz organist Jimmy McGriff's "Tailgunner" - A groove that just won't stop! Here Danny gives us the break after some slight teasing, accompanied by McGriff's funky organ vamps the whole track is rearranged and slightly tougher than the original version. This edit is definitely for the dancers, it's got all the drums upfront and displays some serious hard funk! Again, on this volume both edits are of supreme high quality, not surprising in any way when we consider that one of the originators of the art-form is behind them!

La Freund Recordings presents a new EP from Amsterdam based producer and modular synth enthusiast Sjamsoedin. Three varied tracks and two heavy remixes by Simon Weiss (Rush Hour / Voyage Direct) and Claude (a.k.a. Fulgeance) form the new label's second release.Sjam Sjamsoedin has been around the electronic music scene for over fifteen years, releasing music under various aliases. Since 2011 Sjamsoedin has been experimenting with a deeper and warmer sound built around strong grooves, combined with his love for (modular) synths and effects. Orion is Sjamsoedin's first full length EP under his own name.While "The Drums" and "Pastel" find their inspiration in the Chicago house sound of the good old days, "Orion" has more of a lush electronica vibe to it. Both remixes add a heavier sound to complete the well rounded EP.

Bottom Forty's fifth release and second vinyl press showcases two French producers living and banging the drums in Berlin; a long time Bottom Forty favorite, La Fraicheur, teamed up with veteran producer and Leonizer record label ownerLeonard de Leonard. La Fraicheur, a producer of emotional and story-telling minimal techno, is seen here paired with Leonard de Leonard to turn up the heat on our first club-banger release track, 'Afraid of the Groove'. La Fraicheur and Leonard de Leonard beat the hell out of their analog Elektron to lay out a relentless whipping melody that demands a twirling dance floor while a classic minimal bass line, rhythm and 'she's uh-fraid of the groove' sample keep this track dark, dirty and underground.


In a beautiful contrast to the heart-pounding A-side, flip to the B-side for 'Une Place au Soleil'. Literally translated as 'a place in the sun', the saying is more about conveying the emotion of 'your hard work is putting you in a good place in life'. 'Une Place au Soleil' is a gorgeous deep house track filled with teasingly melodic stabs and subtle hardware sounds that come and go, crashing on the record like powerful but soothing waves on the hot beach sands. While 'Afraid of the Groove' may twist a peak-hour dance floor into a frenzy, 'Une Place au Soleil' will entrance them in the after hours, reminding dancers why electronic music is so beautiful and why dance floors can carry so much emotional release.


Yet another contrasting track, the remix of 'Afraid of the Groove' by the Milan based Elisa Bee, is what makes this record compact yet powerfully diverse for many dance floors. Entering the realm of ghetto-tech with pounding and distorted toms and kicks and fervent stabs, Elisa Bee's remix is like a rollercoaster that keeps ascending, building tension upon tension as it rides further into the sky, taking everyone along for the ride with it.

Many of the problems Africa faces are a result of outside interference by other countries, and as the 21st century progresses we will see the continued pillage of African resources to feed the global capitalist machine on an unprecedented scale. Corrupt and greedy regimes gladly sell their land and mineral wealth to finance their own extravagant lifestyles while the vast majority of ordinary people see little or no improvement in their own lives. An autonomous Africa run by the people for the people, where African land is predominantly used to feed African people and Africa's vast wealth of resources is used to benefit the people of Africa seems the only logical way forward. Autonomous Africa's goal is to highlight this message and here presents to you 4 tracks of African inspired grooves.

We fully realise a small run, independently released 12" is going to make very little difference to the world, but doing something has to be better than doing nothing. The idea of an autonomous Africa may be naive and unrealistic, but at some point the world we live in will have to change or future generations are going to be left with very little as we consume way more than our fair share. We have collectively buried our heads in the sand thinking we are powerless to engender change. Individually we have little power but collectively, the power is ours.

Invisible, Inc. again turn to the mystic sounds of the 'fourth world' for their latest release by bringing cosmic voyager Peter Power into the fold.

Previously only available digitally 'Awake Into Life' by 'Peter Power & Friends' finally comes out on vinyl courtesy of the like-minded Invisible Inc. Alongside Peter himself, the 'friends' are a band of well known and not-so-well known collaborators from around the world: Australia's Bronze Savage (Aficionado Recordings) and Brazil's Psilosamples (Desmonta/Octave) to name just two. The resulting mystical brew is meditative, hypnotic and indeed deeply psychedelic.....and most certainly well worthy of seeing the light of day as a physical release.

Originally hailing from the emerald isle of Ireland and settling for a while in Berlin, Peter Power now resides in Bahia, Brazil close to where the world famous and free-wheeling Voodoohop collective sprung its roots on the streets and clubs of Sao Paolo. Peter has been a continuing member of the Voodoohop crew for a couple of years and has toured with them extensively as both musician and performer. Respected as a DJ and a producer his unique world-flavoured brand of electronic music has been released on Multi Culti, Kleine Reise, Crime City, Polychrome Sounds and now Invisible, Inc.

His DJ mixes are eclectic, far reaching, transcendent and at times even ritualistic, infused with a deep, dream-like spirituality which has resulted in him acquiring tens of thousands of followers from around the world all avidly keeping an ear out for his unique slant on the 'DJ mix'. Peter gets mixes requested from him on a regular basis whether they be 'in-house' podcasts for Multi Culti and Voodoohop to fanzines such as Urban Cosmonaut and labels like Pingipung in Germany.

We hit you with the second single from Jimpster's acclaimedSilent Stars LP loaded with the good stuff! The album has received much love from DJ's and critics alike and it's clear that after 25 years in the business Jamie Odell retains his reputation as one of the most talented and consistent electronic artists in the UK. As A&R and DJ he also boasts a fine ear for emerging talent and here he hands over the reigns to two hotly tipped producers to rework his originals. First up we have the incredible Peggy Gou who takes on The Sun Comes Up ft. Jinadu.Her speedy rise through the ranks over the past 12 months has been down to just a handful of brilliant EP's on Rekids and Phonica and her skills as a club DJ. The Berlin based Korean sits somewhere between Detroit, London and Berlin in sound and her DJ sets are an assured, kinetic combination of dark, pulsing house and techno, broken beats and abstract compositions. Her influences shine through on her remix which goes deep and musical whilst retaining an energetic drive for the dancefloor. Perhaps the most mesmerizing, floor-focused track from the LP is up next; Silent Stars. An electronic tribal dance which builds to a speaker-wobbling sub-bass breakdown and wonderful chord section at the climax. Ströme sind die zwei Vollblutmusiker Mario Basshofer und Tobi Weber der erfolgreichen Brass Techno Band LaBrassBanda, die sich zusammengeschlossen haben, um einen Mix aus treibenden Beats, analogen Synthmelodien und live Trompete zu schaffen und diesen auf die Festivalbühnen und in die Clubs zu bringen. Klare, ungeschliffene Sounds und dynamische Drums werden an Modularsynthesizern komplett live und von Hand gemacht.

Das macht Ströme zu einem einzigartigen Liveact. Einen derartigen Modular Liveact mit allerhöchstem Rave-Appeal gab es noch nie - jetzt gibt es Ströme. Ihre bisherigen Live Konzerte waren sensationell. Dieser erste Release (12' / digital) mit drei Tracks erscheint im September, eine weitere Maxi im Spätherbst und ihr Debüt Album wird im Februar 2017 folgen.

Benjamin Ball's "Flash A Flashlight" is the first preview of the next Cultures of Soul compilation, Boogie Breakdown -South African Disco 1980 to 1984. WIth the help of DJ Okapi, Cultures of Soul has tracked down many of the great synth boogie artists of the 80s in South Africa including Benjamin Ball, Don Laka, Al Etto, Neville Nash, Harari, and many others. Benjamin Ball's "Flash A Flashlight" came out just after Brenda & The Big Dudes' massive hit "Weekend." Ball's unique reggae-tinged synth boogie was nearly as big and became the second bubble gum anthem of the era. Highly respected house DJ/producer and co-founder of the Running Back label, Gerd Janson gives us two nice edits of "Flash A Flashlight." Gerd provides two funked up rerubs of the track, one with vocals and one without. Licensed directly from the artist and housed in a custom disco sleeve these edits won't be available on the compilation.

Octo Champ releases his second EP of 2017, following up on Not Quite There Yet, which received major exposure from Thump and DJ Mag. This upfront four-track release is a selection of dance floor ready disco and house and sits boldly apart from a lot of other music within these genres. DJ support so far from Dan Shake and Titeknots amongst others. Taking inspiration from the more exotic corners of the musical spectrum the EP leads with the upbeat Make Heaven and its conga rhythms, vocal hooks and electronic patterns. CMI is slower and moves further into the groove whilst Lacuna is the EP's funkiest cut, featuring a killer bass hook, percussion, guitar chops, claps and more vocals to carry it along. Closing with a second four to the four track Diametric leads with an elastic, acoustic bassline, synth pads and you've guessed it: more vocal hooks.

Octo Champ is one-half of DJ/promoter duo Rigid Disco, running parties and radio shows across both London and Glasgow and booking rising stars such as Tom Blip, FYI Chris, Hector Plimmer and the Rye Wax crew.

Octo Champ has remixed Soundway's Flamingods and CHPLN as well as contributing to the CDR x Dimensions Sounds 2016 project. Most recently, his music was picked up by Let's Go Swimming who released the Not quite there yet EP.
