Unsurprisingly, Richard Galling, does indeed hail from Milwaukee, having released disco inspired jams since about 2012. With his stuff getting plays on the likes of Beats In Space, he got his name out early. His latest offering is this single that features two original tracks and some remixes too. '303 features the eponymous bass machine all over this deep, arpeggio-heavy tech-disco jam, 'Organ' swaps the 303 for a classic Robin S-style house organ, and 'Prophet' adds some big room bass. Also included is a Prophet version of 'Clear Water", a real late 80s, Shep Pettibone-style, Latin house joint. Luke Solomon's Body Edit, is absolut Dancefloor HEAT !!!!

Hailing from Helsingborg but living in Berlin since 2012, swedish street artist and electronic musician Erik Jaahalli releases his debut on Borft. With smudgy analog romantic morning theme tracks bordering between chicago house, detroit techno and european new beat influences. But what youre hearing is geographically the sound of Lichtenberg Berlin now and more specifically the morning vibe at the private continous party Domestic Affairs. Expectations is an extended player from minimalist disco outfit Harvey Sutherland and Bermuda. The second release for Sutherland's own Clarity Recordings brings his Bermuda project into sharp focus - six tracks spanning Harvey's influences from the West Coast to West End Records.
Recorded with bandmates Graeme Pogson (drums) and Tamil Rogeon (electric strings), Expectations follows last year's stomping label debut single Priestess/Bravado.
The EP includes a long-awaited studio version of live favourite Clarity, uptempo burner Coast 2 Coast and a moment of spiritual introspection with Spiders. The title track offers glimmers of the Doobies and the 'Dan a sign of things to come from the Melbourne producer and his unique trio.

We've been huge fans of Tim's work since the release of his first self-titled EP on Astrolab. His analogue sound has been described as both 'Death Mulch' and 'Rare Gloom'. For his second Work For Love twelve, he continues the journey into dark spaces with four more deep synth freakers from his Fish Island School of Synthesis Studio.

After releases on esteemed labels including Emotional Response, World Unknown, Bird Scarer, Hoga Nord, Rotters Golf Club (as The Asphodells with Andrew Weatherall) and his own label 'Crimes of The Future' which he runs with Scott Fraser, his debut album 'Where is the Champion' was released earlier in the year to critical acclaim. Tim will continue to push forward and we feel privileged to see him return for a WFL round two.

For years Nathan Church has been cutting up floors in his native Bilbao. Recently the Basque man's attention has turned from the Dj booth to the studio. Under his WLDV (We Love Dolce Vita) this Iberian electronic inspiration has cast long shadows and brightened rooms with his blend of horror score intensity and disco exuberance. WLDV arrives at the Bordello with a four tracker of serious intent. Sepulchral and sinister synthlines characterise A Dying Feast, nowhere more than in the haunting samples and clean drums of 'A Bucket of Blood'. Cold chords gleam with icy menace while crisp claps punctuate the entrancing funk of 'Danza Macabra'. Ecclesia toys with set parameters, exploring what lurks in the twilight between terror and titillation. This flirtation with the divine and the profane is plain to hear in the uneasy elegance and uplifting elation of 'Far, Far Away', a work of steady kicks, unsettling extracts and soaring strings. This 'feast' ends on a delectable note. Keys dance and spiral in the intoxicating 'Laying Down On Cosmic Dust', an enthralling end to and enthralling EP

For the label's 50th release, Emotional Rescue returns to the music of Woo to close a trilogy of reissue collaboration albums, in A La Luna. Following Whichever Way You Are Going (1982) and Into The Heart Of Love (1990), their opus A La Luna (1991) was the last of the bands song based albums and represents a wonderful way to close this association.

Reworked, re-ordered and remastered especially for this first time vinyl release, brothers Mark and Clive Ives again present their unique, ground-breaking and at the time, heart-wrenchingly overlooked music, that seems to fit the folk-new age-electronics of today as well, if not better, than when first released.

Across 20 plus songs Mark's guitar, clarinet and vocals are as ever drenched in Clive's mixing desk mastery. Echo and reverb shimmer as the short pieces rise and fall like the wind blowing across nighttime trees. With no song going much beyond three minutes, A La Luna flows as one piece. The unmistaken sound of Woo wraps itself around you in an essence, warmth and glow that is addictive, meditative and uplifting.

Featuring the original vocal performance of Mark's love ode, Magic In The Dark stands as a centerpiece where, as with all their albums, vocals appear at a minimum, as part of the musical journey.

The underlying somber nature of the album comes as the band ended more than a decade of recording with little critical or commercial success. The fact they did not release a full album again and moved towards a more meditation outlook was a loss, however, their recent rediscovery and the excellent releases by Drag City and Palto Flats included, has finally given the Ive's brothers not just a place in appreciation, but has shown that there really is no one like Woo. Rebolledo's YOU AND YOUR HIPPIE FRIENDS imprint grows its groove footprint on international dance floors with the full-length debut of GÜERO, the latest vinyl outing from the Hippie Dance sister label and also its first fully fledged album project. To attentive hippie friends, the artist name should ring a big, funky bell - one that sounds exactly like the cut 'Convertible Ride' from the notorious 'A Very Nice Combinado Volume Uno' 12' release (YAYHF 01).
Back then, our hero was travelling under the somewhat more convoluted 'El Güero Fresa' monicker, but has since dropped some of those conceptual pounds in an effort to reach maximum sleekness. In the same vein, his debut album is a testament to ultimate funk-a-ficiency, digging deep into fizzy arpeggios and chunky basslines - and the occasional guitar cameo, giving tracks such as bubbling synth opener ELEKTRONIQUE, the neon-lit NIGHT CRUISING, bouncing electro disco roller ALTO FINAL or the programmatic SPACE DRIFTER just that little extra riff.
GUITAR MAYHEM, however, is anything but - you'll discover a pretty dank bouncer and certainly not the squealing meltdown one would expect. TECHNO MINIMAL doesn't do what it says on the tin, either, opting for an energetic bass 'n' organ workout instead. By now, you'll begin to understand why the album's called MY WAY MY RULES: GÜERO takes whatever sonic path he desires, no matter what - which is precisely why he chimes so well with YOU AND YOUR HIPPIE FRIENDS's steadily expanding motley crew of rave misfits and studio drop-outs. The way of the hippie is indeed a mysterious one.

It was May 2017 when Earthboogie's debut release dropped on Leng. The soundsystem-loving East London duo rightly won praise for a fne EP that brilliantly joined the dots between all things intergalactic, terrestrial and tribal.
Having spent the last ten months recording their adventures, Izaak Gray and Nicola Robinson return with Silken Moon', the frst single from their forthcoming debut album, Human Call.
In typical fashion, Silken Moon' cannily combines musical elements from a myriad of styles - most notably Afro-disco, samba and mid-tempo Chicago house - to create a humid hybrid that defes easy categorization. There are bouncy organ riffs, undulating acid lines, clipped Afro-funk guitars, tons of tropical percussion and the chanted, carnival-friendly vocalizations of guest singer Nina Miranda.
The release comes backed with remixes from two members of the extended
Leng family: long-serving producer Felix Dickinson and Turkish rising star Ali Kuru. Dickinson sticks close to the original of Silken Moon' with a mix built around gently jacking machine drums and Earthboogie's sweaty guitar licks while Kuru takes Human Call' in an altogether more cosmic direction. Pushing the track's psychedelic TB-303 lines and tropical textures to the fore whilst
adding his own mind-altering electronics - most notably a fat new synth bassline - Kuru cleverly re-casts the track as a pulsating, late night throb-job.

Phantasm is a new vinyl label and collaboration between Amsterdam's Sinchi Collective and the much-admired Night Noise outlet, based in Geneva. It kicks off with a strong EP from The Soviet Union aka Richard Baldwin, including classy remixes from Sinchi themselves and In Flagranti.Baldwin has a signature style that is cinematic and synth heavy and has been formed over the last decade plus. A fine DJ, experienced promoter and self-confessed addict of vintage analogue synthesizers and drum machines, Richard pulls his influences from early electronica, 80s film-scores, and shades of techno right up to the present day. This track was first written on a cold evening in December 2010 using a Roland TR707 and JX8P Synth. After collaborating with his songwriting partner the track was given a haunting vocal and released as 'The Disappearance of Becky Sharp', while the original remained on Baldwin's Soundcloud and got ID requests from all over the world. 7 years later it comes back to life in the form of its original instrumental, with a 2017 rework, plus remixes by Sinchi and In Flagranti.The superb original is a perfectly spaced out and a retro-future bit of synth heavy electronic music. Arpeggiated bass props up rueful chords and icy percussion brings that essential cosmic vibe. It's a timeless track that overflows with emotions and is sure to really make a mark in any DJ set thanks to its rich musicality. The 2017 Rebuild is even more lush and zoned out with sombre chords forcing you to reflect on the deeper meanings of life. In Flagranti—the Codek Records duo based in Switzerland—then lace in some hip swinging claps and make this one a deep disco track that is riddled with little synths, chords and melodies that exude warmth and sci-fi soul. Last of all, Amsterdam's Sinchi cook up a storm with corrugated basslines, long tailed pads and turbulent solar winds that make it that bit darker and moodier. This is a brilliant package of emotive music that is a real statement of intent.

Laesh another newcomer to Roots For Bloom delivers a club ready three tracker with ripples of early sneak influences and robsoul-ish vibes. All three run on a similar tip relying on samples fresh and more well known alike but all three will do the job on the floors.

The SHAG Edits return on Roots For Bloom with volume 5. label boss Jamie Trench starts things off with "Where The Party At" which reaches in to a hip hop flavour with that 90s sample feel. Reece Johnson rounds off the A side with a disco style cut that will bring the boogie to any floor. The B side sees the label welcome more newcomers in Bristol's J.Morrison and the mysterious G.Markus. Brown Eyes sees that 70s style funk brought to the table and BING! is a more house affair with a rolling feel to it.

Very cool ep from Skatebard on Vivod ! A mixed bag from the prolific Norwegian producer showing us why he's still at the top of his game. Maskindans kicks things off with some speak & spell funk followed by Hissige Helger, a brooding Chicago style banger sure to tear up some discoteques across the planet.
On the flip are Langbolgen and Gloymde Skogar. The former is an acid style work out, the latter is more of a subtle, hypnotyizing opus. All very strong tracks. Don't sleep on this. They will go fast !

Art Alfie inaugurates his Velvet Pony imprint with a four track EP. The new label will function as a platform for the artist and his friends, shining light on a catalogue of music from the Stockholm scene. Having built a strong reputation alongside Mr. Tophat with a string of revered releases on the duo's Karlovak imprint, Velvet
Pony signals the opening of a new door for Art Alfie. The project arrives after a highly acclaimed album on Studio Barnhaus, as well as his first solo EP on Karlovak last year - on which the underground hit 'Flaunting' was featured.
'Velvet Pony Trax 1' sees Art Alfie brandishing his immaculate production technique over 4 distinct grooves.
'Soft Spoken' takes us to the twilight zone with low slung bass riffs and jazzy chords, whilst 'Since I've Seen you' offers a dubbed out dose of twisted disco for the after-hours. On the B side, 'Hideouts' pairs hypnotic percussion with an undeniable funk, and 'Front' - a co-production with Ma°ns Glaeser - raises the heat for an energetic finish.

Following on from the runaway success of Le-Edits number 1, Dimitri eases us into 2018 with style and grace by presenting us with another fine set of reworkings from deep within the vaults. In this era of cheap and nasty bootlegs, badly looped breakdowns and bedroom producers butchering the classics with no soul or quality control it was time for a change, an antidote. Le-Edits is exactly that, a platform for Dimitri to express his appreciation of this most influential musical artform in the best way possible - utilising the master tapes, pressing onto virgin vinyl, taking extra care with the label aesthetics and everything else in-between. What you hold in your hands is a labour of love, a journey! Once the needle hits the groove and you're immersed in the music it will all make sense, you will feel the force of the 'chic in the music'!
Firstly we find ourselves in the company of the legendary Phyllis Hyman, an artist whose stellar career saw her perform with artists like Norman Connors, Jon Lucien, Pharoah Sanders and the fatback Band among others. 'You know how to love me' is perhaps one of Hyman's best known tracks and is taken from her successful 1979 debut LP of the same title. A swirling, floating groove produced by the criminally underrated powerhouse production duo of James Mtume and Reggie Lucas 'You know...' is a wondrous slice of Disco-Soul, mellow in some respects but in the right hands also a dance-floor roof raiser. Dim's 'Super Disco Blend' version of this classy and elegant cut respectfully touches the arrangement up in all the right places, teasing us into the groove with a wonderfully percussive and vocal led intro before giving us the full funk of the strings, the rhythm section and the simply flawless arrangements and production. This is pure soulful bliss and brings new life and dynamism to an already classic record. This is how it should be done!
On the flip side of this beautifully presented piece of wax is another underground aficionado's choice, the slick 1981 sounds of the incomparable Keni Burke's 'Let Someone Love You'. Again, working from the RCA original master tapes and studying Philly legend Joe Tarsia and NYC master mixer David Todd's studio session Dimitri has blessed us with a brand new version of this popular jam. This mix is an absolute joy for the DJ's with the drums upfront and Keni's adlibs leading us into that monumental piano break and off we go! A truly uplifting piece of music, 'Let Someone...' is a surefire winner. Again, in keeping with the Le-Edits ethos, this new mix has been created with the full understanding of this music and most importantly with love and passion. Fans of both Phyllis Hyman and Keni Burke's work will undoubtedly fall in love with these spectacular mixes and make them their own. Essential for all Disco lovers.

Mosaique turn to the learned ears of Mick Wills to fill out their third release with a pair of exclusive edits that align with the German DJs distinctive take on deviant dance music. On the A side Wills edits "Ultimatum" by Russian industrial wayfarer DMT, a track dripping with sinister synth tones and rasping, brittle drums that sound great looped up across a whole side of vinyl. On the flip Wills takes the knife to "Flexion" by Jasss, the emergent Spanish artist whose wide ranging style encompasses coldwave, acid and more besides. The emotive synth strains of this track strain against the harsh, distorted drums to great effect, all filtered through that Mick Wills vision of what makes great, dark, sleazy dance music.

Yoruba Records is proud to welcome back Toto Chiavetta with our latest release, 'Nagnu Jubo' (Remixes). This follow up to the debut album, 'Impermanence', includes remixes by Osunlade as well as new and unreleased work from Toto himself. Kicking off proceedings is the Yoruba Soul Mix of 'Nagnu Jubo', a deep and smooth groove rich in personality. The warm chords reel you in as the underlying rhythm engages and inspires. The Yoruba Soul Dub retains the warmth of the original without the track's signature chant. This is followed by a new, previously unreleased, version of 'Minds'. Originally appearing on 'Impermanence', this version is decidedly more floor focused. A 303-style bassline keeps this moving right along as percussive elements add texture and drive to this forward thinking dance tune. Finally, closing out this release is 'Hunters', a track which showcases Toto's dark and techy side. This expressive tune is ripe with emotion and will have discerning listeners locked in introspection while their feet do work on the floors below them.

Chapter 3: Gandarva switching from a balearic atmosphere to an interstellar space travel. In Kosmaro the voice of Monica Giacomobono describes a sleepless night traveling delirious on the notes of the keyboard played Ricky Burattini (Justofunk) which then,  together with the bass of  Onorino Tiburzi , transports us in a jazzy-funk walk with the track Isotropofunk

For the first release of 2018 we welcome Harry Wolfman to the Outplay family!
Having followed his work for the last couple of years we're very happy to have him deliver this varied 4-tracker, which very well might be some of his best work to date.

The A side starts off with 'Hitch'. A warm and dusty groover driven by rhodes, a rubbery bassline and a thudding kick. A lovely string piece in the middle of the track slowly builds up to the break for it to return to the head nodding groove soon after. The added percussion gives it a nice lively feel as well.

'Pigs in Blankets' sets the pace a little slower, but the funk goes on. The track incorporates 80's style samples with some excellent synth and chord work. Perfect for a warm up session.

Starting on the B side Harry takes it up a notch with 'Nemoto', which will be a definite stomper for the dance floor. It takes you on a 9 minute journey of rolling bumpy basslines, screaming distortion leads and hypnotising synth work.
Finally, to ease things off, STS-136 (Final Call) comes in at a slow 88 bpm pace as a perfect closure to the EP. Dreamy pads, piano licks and a calming marimba melody combined with a beat which feels like a warm blanket will make you wander off for a moment...

'Love Injection' is the latest instalment from Glitterbox Recordings, the one and only 21st century disco. Selected by label boss Simon Dunmore, the eight-track double 12' package showcases the finest producers making disco and dancefloor-ready house cuts in the here and now. Rapson, Reverendos Of Soul, BB Boogie, David Harness and Sísý Ey make up some of the contemporary contingent proving that the disco spirit is alive and well. Simon has also included respectful nods to the golden-era voices of Gwen Guthrie and CeCe Rogers.

'Love Injection' sets the disco standard while diving into contemporary dancefloor fillers. A brand new cut for the compilation, Rapson's 'Heat' is one of the standout tracks of the last six months. The Disclosure-esque house favourite has been remixed by OPOLOPO, transforming it into a fine disco cut. A compilation exclusive, Sísý Ey 'Restless' is a glittering highlight, given a thumping 4/4 injection from the Crazy P crew.

One of the classic inclusions is Gwen Guthrie 'It Should Have Been You', a garage staple perfected by Larry Levan. Rounding off the timeless moments on side C is 'It Must Be Love' by Alton McClain & Destiny, produced by Northern Soul cult hero Frank Wilson. Simon discovered this gem when it was played by Horse Meat Disco; a memorable Glitterbox moment captured in style on 'Love Injection'. Another song broken in on the decks at a Glitterbox party, Simon first heard the sound of David Harness 'We Got It' when it was played by Louie Vega in London. The simple and hypnotic groove brings things bang up-to-date. Defining the true meaning of 'dance music' in 2018, 'Glitterbox - Love Injection' is here to move your body and your soul.

Emotional Rescue and Jamwax end their Capo Disco series by returning to Glen Adams and his cover of Bob Marley's classic. The early 70s Lee Perry produced original raw sound is taken to the disco reggae dancefloors of the early 80s with a bottom heavy jam, while his Capo Crew works a killer dub flipside. Fussing & Fighting' was originally released on the 1971's Soul Revolution album and for many came during the pinnacle of Bob Marley & The Wailers output, before the smoothing out of their sound during the later Island' years. Whichever, the guidance and collaboration with Perry transformed the Wailers from a successful Ska / Rocksteady group towards a visionary, conscious, crossover phenomenon. Actually released on both Capo Disco and Marley's own Tuff Gong, Adams' vocal marries a disco-dub and guitar groove, dropping, in the latter half, right down to tambourine into perfectly stretched Discomix.

After the successful Solaris Vinyl on this tracks we keep the rhythm grooving with our fresh innovative views on the Donna Summer/Giorgio Moroder Hit from the 70´. This remixes on the Tom Tom Club version from 2000 give a splendid atmosphere on the visionary tunes that mark the beginning of the Disco House Area.
Some Funky Tech House Mixes flourishing in its Disco Beats round up this record in a minimalistic electronic approach.
