Welcome to the wonderful weird of Talking Drums - an unsafe space for poorly executed dance moves, misjudged vibes and narcotic bravery.
Semi-Cosmic, way wonky and oozing grooves, this is music for the fringe class.

The party starts with a tripped out tribute to an Italian inspiration. 'C60 Lato A' sees the crew pluck a couple of killers off a well worn Cosmic tape, leave them out in the sun a little too long then stick them back together with an experimental blend of UHU and fufu. Springy bass, spangled brass and mangled electronics make for a motherlode of funk, fried just long enough to make the walls melt. Bendy....

Over on the B-side the crew come through with a little bath-salt boogie, pitched down and loved up for all the slow dancers and romancers out there.
Strutting like a stoned fox, 'Get Serious' wraps rubber-limbed bass around propulsive percussion, gets hooky with the horns then slaps you silly with its x-rated synth-smut.
Pinched from the pound bin and taped over a CH 5 classic, this disco drooler will loosen up even the stickiest floors.

As last year's limited box set has been out of print for a while, we decided to press up a 2xlp version with 12 essential tracks from the original release that total 60 minutes. If you have missed the box set this is a great chance to own some of Virgo Four's essential Chicago house music!

The tracks were selected from 100's of 4-track tapes that had been untouched and unreleased all these years due to local record business politics and disinterest. These demo recordings have been restored and mastered for release. Resurrection really shows the the rich, diverse and unique quality of Virgo Four, which leaves you wondering what impact they would have made on the (Chicago) house scene if they would have gotten released back in the day.

In our most private moments, we have often thought of Multi Culti as an educational enterprise: as you listen to our music and stare at our artwork, you are absorbing information in a way that might conceivably be defined as "learning."Our latest release brings this theoretically reasonable fantasy one step closer to fruition, as we welcome Hamburg-based musician and composer Andi Otto (Ph.D) to our roster of artists. A deep listening experience focused on repetition and timbre, Bow Wave was made using rare and unique instruments such as a special sensor bow for cello (and other string instruments) known as the "Fello," which Otto developed during his residencies at the STEIM research centre in Amsterdam. The album also features vocals from award-winning Indian playback singer, actor, and TV anchor M.D. Pallavi, a frequent Otto collaborator, recorded while the two were touring Japan.

For the 5th in the Ele Records catalogue esteemed producer Cottam brings two killer edits to the table. The A side sees a joyous disco rework, extending and expanding elements to really hone in on that exuberant bassline and string section.
Flip it over and 'Jigsaw' delivers a dusty mixture of afro rhythms and stirring spoken words to entrance any audience it's set before.

Following Hammer's stand out release on Loft Records last year, 'Canna' gets the remix treatment by four killer producers.

First up, Lauer adds his trademark flavour to the already outstanding title track 'Canna', bending the mind with an acidic top line and classic Korg M1 bells.The A2 sees Supreems take the techno edge off 'Man Ray' replacing the drums with a more electro tinged style of rhythm, whilst echoing the synths into the back of the mix to let the drums take the foreground.

Flip it over and you get two reworkings of 'Manaka'. Firstly, Domenic Cappello switches the breaksy flow of the original for a more club ready kick to compliment those stabs, in turn elevating the breakdown to greater effect. In contrast, Lord Of The Isles dives deeper into the breaks feel of Hammer's original, adding glitchy samples and oddball synth lines to take this one an even more interplanetary tip.

Three house-filtered and heartically raw jams on the enigmatic Relative imprint for the eleventh release of the series. 06AM contains three Turkish and one fake Turkish edit. They sound quite traditional but they all have a psychedelic electronic or percussive edge which makes them worth stretching a bit. Afrobot presents two edits of quite under the radar folky tracks, Matt Moroder delivered a pretty unknown sexy disco slow burner and the fourth track is an instrumental Oriental sounding break beat rock track, which is actually from Germany, like the mysterious Potentiometer himself. The new release follows the 22 year old producer's acclaimed 2016 self-titled debut EP for the same independent imprint. Also known as the 'Gqom King', DJ Lag was at the forefront of shaping the futuristic, explosive sound of gqom, the raw and distinctive style of drum-heavy dance music originating from the underground scene of Durban, South Africa in recent years and swiftly proliferating across the internet through the spread of social media and gaining international recognition. DJ Lag's latest outing delves into the infectiously rhythmic and high-energy sound palette of his previous works, recorded fully in his home studio in Clermont, South Africa.

tim jones, also known as Preacherman and recorded under midi man, ironing Board Band and t.j. hustler. he made one very rare lp, and two even rarer cD's. these tracks are from the cD's. he was a salesman for iBm in Las Vegas, where he sold selectric t ypewriters and then word processors during the day and at night he would perform in the Las Vegas lounges. he was somewhat of an engineer and adapted a hammond B3 organ to play a moog synth with some of the organ keys, (some still played the organ),
and he adapted the organ's foot controlled bass levers to play two moog synth bass pedals (a failed item moog made for a few years.) thinking he wasn't much of a live performer he had a wooden puppet made that he named t.j hustler, and together with the puppet, he would engage in long philosophical soliloquies, (some of which are featured on this album).if you meet tim, he is not someone who stops talking. in fact he even created a little book called universal Philosophy. he has a lot to say about everything. currently he lives with his 103 year old mother in
Oakland. there he infrequently plays shows on his casio where he fashions himself a live Karaoke performer, who comes complete with 5 wireless mics and P.a. and a list of about a 100 songs he can play. his invented organ contraption and puppet are in storage in Las Vegas, and he seems intensely
uninterested in getting them out, as 'the kids these days want to hear the sounds the casio makes.'

The track elevates the spirit of the happy tune to a next level, leaving not only a taste of summer but a sense of coolness. 005B2 played after the first three hitting tracks, with its saxophone and synthesizers is a percussive, atmospheric and fulfilling way to end the record's narrative in perfect fashion; a record that displays an uncanny array of house/disco music performances. It is almost one year since the 1st one. We couldn't think about how good the response would have been from the listeners. The italian act Geometric Vision has earned a solid reputation as one of the best post-punk bands out there. This is a homage to childhood years spent in the Scottish Highlands. To mountain biking in Fort William. To nights out in Glasgow and Edinburgh. To the scene and the people. To 'Cha deoch-slàint, i gun a tràghadh.' - 'It's no health if the glass is not emptied.' This is Alex Warren's little nod to Scotland. Disco Halal is delighted to add another genius dancefloor master to the family, Kiwi. 'Pine Marten' opens the EP up, contemplative and majestic, like highlanders preparing for battle. Following up, 'Daubenten's Bat' is a bonafide Disco Halal anthem with indigenous vocals and psychedelic woodwinds. To close the EP, Kiwi reworks 'Pine Marten' into a peak time, italo-infused roller. Early 80's balearic Italian Disco solid release from the classic Bolognian Band Aid, not to be confused for Bob & Midge & co. This limited edition project features the legendary dj Tony Carrasco for the vocal and dub versions and the precious addiction of the unreleased mediterranean version mixed and overdubbed by Pellegrino from the Early Sounds Recordings by adding aggressive percussions remembering something of Konk style.

Delivering another batch of slow cooked musical stews, making sure the tempo stays nice and steady and the emphasis is on funk, soul, grits and corn fried chicken, Brewster has done so much digging, Late Night Tales had to hire a forklift truck and tractor. Among the unreleased nuggets, there's the Fernando mix of The Detachments; inordinate excitement about Gino Fontaine, a tune spotted a year ago but has languished in Andy Meecham's Stafford catacombs ever since. Also unearthed are some hitherto secret recordings between Robert Fripp and The Grid, and there are also some proper club faves here, too, like the daft but brilliant 'Mopedbart' by Hubbabubbaklubb and the luminous 'Boutade' by Mugwump, as well as killer oldies like Salsoul Invention and General Lee

José Manuel once again drops his unique strain of exotic club music ~ exploring deep, ritualistic and tribal influences to great dramatic effect. 'Human Behaviour' is a woozy nine minute opus. Rich in atmospherics, chanting and echoed flutes. Clandestino's remix refines the track for the dance-floor, retaining the atmosphere and injecting a driving 303 line and jamming Afro keys. Upping the tempo on 'Bangalore' a hypnotic guitar hook, disorienting chants and tribal percussion drive the groove. Mushrooms Project turn out an essential blissful sundown version by extending out the pads and replacing the guitar for a squelchy synth.

Never one to rest, our pal The Revenge has been busy as always. His latest LP as 6th Borough Project Find Your Rhythm' recently dropped on Roar Groove, he created a beautifully delicate remix of Auntie Flo's Waiting for a (Woman)", had a change of scenery relocating from Scotland to Denmark and his collab EP with Dirt Crew, flush with Nachtbraker remixes was one of our biggest records of 2016! Amongst the action he's taken the time and a more in yer face' approach to write us his latest EP, a four-tracker of proper club tracks. Every Night' brims with raucous disco energy. The French Filter House' reminiscent gem's strings shimmer and funk horns hit heavy, a jam destined to wear holes in shoes. Grit' attends to the easy-going Disco grooves we love so much from The Revenge, plenty of shake and soul it's overflowing with good-mood energy. B-side opener Never Learn' gives us a glimpse of the darker end of The Revenge's spectrum. Subby toms rumble, tweaked out synths bleep and slide and delayed key stabs shift the party into smoke hazed, underground rave mode. The closing track Krokodille' brings that Bass n Electro gritty booming sound! The acidic lead wraps around sturdy drums. Straight forward with plenty of kick, what an ending to a high quality EP!

Young Cody Currie makes his debut on Classic with this sparkling star-strung 4-part 12' EP, 'Ode To Eddy'. Following covetable releases on Razor-N-Tape, Pulse Records and Better Listen, the budding London DJ and producer demonstrates his deep and jazzy style in this release, expanding on his usual creative use of sampling by introducing his own vocals and live keys. The title track has echoes of fellow Classic artist Folamour, blissed-out synths and syncopated drum work creating an irresistible lilting beat. 'I Don't Feel' has hints of acidity, 'Never Alone' loops the vocal over a shuffling melodic groove and 'Tale Of Tales (Memoirs Of A Super Freak)' is the uplifting finisher. 'Ode To Eddy' is a supremely promising introduction to an intuitive and gifted new artist.

The Summer just got hotter as Alliance Upholstery offers some serious Italo heat with an official 180 gram vinyl re-issue of the Swiss holy grail, Veronique - Jungle Man.
Originally released in 1987 on Fresh Music, this driving, tropically cosmic cover of the Kongo Band classic, 'African Man' rocks almost any dancefloor.
No wonder it fetches close to a bill on Discogs. The A Side includes remastered versions of the original and instrumental, 'Guitar Man', courtesy of Deitrich Schoenemann.
If that wasn't enough, re-edit master JAZ (Sixty Five, Universal Cave) takes prime cuts from each version to produce his own megamix on the B-side.

Dr Love is a veteran and key tastemaker / vinyl junkie on the Montreal scene and Laura Ingalls is a wandering French person of no specific sex who has recently landed in the French Canadian city and they both bonded over their love of anything Disco and Poutine, the main local dish which consists of potato, cheese, gravy and maybe sometimes added meat!
Dr Love likes to dig but doesn't really produce while Laura Ingalls is not the most efficient digger and only seems to unearth old Folk and obscure Arabic music for their personal collection but has serious production skills. A1 - Laura Ingalls & Dr Love - Oh Mon Amour 6m 02s Very hard to find anything online about Idris Cheba who's real name is Serge Michael Bijaoui but this was a classic at the famous parisian disco Le Palace in the early 80's when it was released. This is an odd one, a jazz disco thing from the mid 70's, the producer Art Polhemus is actually more a rock producer and this track sticks out like a sore thumb in his discography.

Peter Godwin who wrote this was in the band Metro and then went on to write and produce a lot of 80's new wave in France and across Europe, the original is definitely a guilty pleasure, both Dr Love and Laura Ingalls are closet Italo fans and even though this is from Belgium it bares all the cheesy Italo stigmata: big synths, big drums, english vocals with a bad accent!

This is a cover of Manu Dibango's Soul Makossa obviously, this version kept the melody and changed the lyrics slightly, Bayete is a South African band but the album was only released in Canada and Belgium.
