On the heels of "The Beast b/w Road Song" 7in release, we revisit Ikebe Shakedown's back catalog and tap renowned remixer and House producer extraordinaire Brennan Green to do a proper remix of "Tujunga" which flew off the shelves and sold out as a 7in single prior to Ikebe's self-titled debut album release in 2011.

Super cool 12' vinyl double pack featuring a superb selection of obscure slo-mo gems from the 70s and early 80s that found favour on Italy's Afro Funky / Cosmic disco scene receiving heavy rotation from legendary DJs like Daniele Baldelli & Beppe Loda. First to drop is 'Movin' In All Directions', a bass-heavy grooving monster from People's Choice, laden with lush Dexter Wansel strings and pounding keys closely followed by the mesmerising 'Funky Bass' by Arpadys, plucked from the French space cadets' super-rare eponymous album. Next up is Ba Ba Go Go from Topo, an extremely hard-to-find minimal Italo masterpiece with the dirtiest sleaziest bass and guitar riffs, crazy synths and wigged-out cat noises followed by the equally funky and only slightly less out-there instrumental version of B-Boy classic 'Rapper Dapper Snapper' from Edwin Birdsong. Pull out Disc 2 for four more afro-funky killers including big Baldelli play 'Stomp and Buck Dance', a superb Rhodes-driven floorfiller from 70s funkateers from The Crusaders, Airto's heady disco-tinged Afro-Brazilian anthem Parana, the psychedelic experimental funk of Tangerine Dream's highly sought-after 'Choronzon' and finally the druggy undulating hypnotic in-demand dub version of Will Powers' Adventures In Success. A great chance to own these Cosmic classics loud-pressed on wax as they were originally meant to be heard.

Messalina records return with a fantastic new release. With the edit duties undertaken by Zurich's Balearic disco maestro Lexx, you know you're in for a treat and this release doesn't disappoint in any way, serving up an awesome collection of Balearic obscurities chipped and sliced to perfection. Side A kicks off with the brilliant Eminent Times, an excellent mash-up of Prince vs. The Who that has been in-demand since featuring on Lexx's wonderful Sundance mix from 2006. Next up is So Different Here, a super cool extended edit of Rachel Sweet's lost classic featuring that 'So Hot' loop made famous by the Beatnuts. On the flip side we get Go, a beautifully deep rework of a lost track by Spargo, and finally the afrodisco groove Kumbayero, a super funky DJ friendly edit of a rare gem from 1976, previously only available on an impossible-to-find 7 inch.

The musical genre Electro Swing originated around the turn of the millennium and combines modern electronic beats with elements of swing, gospel and jazz from the 20s to the 50s of the last century. Now the fourth edition appears, again a collaboration between the DJs Gülbahar Kültür and Johannes Heretsch aka Louie Prima. 2 CD including hits such as Caro Emerald, Zoowax, Nekta, Sweet Life Society, Stereo Swing, Alice Francis, Harry Chestwick, Bart&Baker, ... and many more !!

Slynk has a new release out and it's a beast! I know because it just tried to take a chunk out of my ankle as I moonwalked to the bathroom. If you've been following him all these years you'll know what to expect by now; Four towering funk behemoths forged in the dirty grease pits of James Brown's flavela chop shop by mechanics wearing beastie boy intergalactic suits and daft punk helmets, welding on lasers and electro and swag to create the most incredible dance floor bangers the world has ever known. Where is it It's just over there on that plinth. Which Plinth Are you kidding That Indiana Jones style plinth deep in the Temple of Boom! Just follow the trail of DJ's, by now most of the traps will have been triggered in their stampede to add these four golden Slynk bombs to their set lists. The blow darts got Featurecast, A.Skills is covered in tarantulas, B-Side sadly got the spikes. Thankfully they've all fully recovered, although DJP was last seen still running from a massive boulder of rock somewhere in Stoke on Trent and Goodgroove is by all accounts still pinned down by a tribe of angry Peruvian jazz fans. You know you want it! Here's a whip, here's a cowboy hat and here's a bag of sand the exact same weight as Slynk's new 4 tracker. Now Go!
