And its correct to speak in these terms for Chris Long (his name of birth) a visionary guy with an incredible career in which he collaborated with labels like BBE, Ministry Of Sound, manager and creator of legendary events such as The 3A's, The Dungeons, Feel Real, Mutant Disco, as well as being one of the first DJs in the UK to have played house music in the mid 80s. Pig's Dance retouched by Rhythm Doctor is a journey, which remind to the very first Orb, without having to find similarities in all costs.

On one of his many legendary trips to LA, Oliver Dollar found himself entrenched in yet another spiral of digging for samples, listening to oddities and generally funking things up with his pal Brillstein. It was on this particular trip that Ain't I'm Clean was born. A track perfect for all occasions, beginning, middle or possibly ending.

Life Recorder kicks things off in his own unique style which never disappoints. Next up is Arnheim, a newcomer with a very mature sounding jazzy house number. Gradul Lashton takes things back into house territory with an infectious 303 laden groove. Finally, Fat Dog comes and drops the tempo and the bottom end with a sublime track to finish.

Debut release for this mysterious edits team, Double Trunk Edits, the home of all things Funk, whether its Cosmic, Afro or P or even a little bit Disco, the emphasis is firmly on the FUNK side of things.

A1. To get things started we have a mid tempo Jazz Funk Groove with some serious bass action way ahead of its time!, sharp drums, hypnotic keys and effects, this groove has got it going on thats for sure.

A2. Part 2 of this groove is a much sweeter affair, some damn fine guitar work going on here, and tight musicians delivering the goods once again.

B1. Fat B side, big horns lift this deep groove, nice guitar work and moog synth workout, backed with the occasional vocal, how can you not move to this one.

Meda Fury welcome OL from Moscow, Russia. This follows many varied contributions for labels such as Faces, Fine Grains, Phonica and Capital Bass. Lum Edit barges in sirens blaring, banging out machine like kick, hats and toms. The heaviest raw funk bassline is unleashed, and lumbers amongst Rap TV show samples and gunshots. Industrial gangster house. Around has a broken, jazzy Detroit feel. Sparing R&B vocal samples and afrocentric percussion ride the wah-wah and heavy bass guitar. Rimms comes straight out of leftfield, cutting edge drum machines rubbing up against Baltic art-rock samples. Its a strange claustrophobic affair with ghostly vocals. East European dancefloor paranoia. Myxa breaks the tension wide open, building a coiled spring of whistle-like riffs. R&B vocal snippets hype it up further before snapping and spilling its own elastic sub-bass. Fine feelgood ghetto-house action. Podumay's glitchy raw drums stomp forward towards all kinds of unknown sci-fi sounds and Kraut synth backgrounds. The contrast is a Detroit soul bassline and house percussion. Melt Down brings the tempo and mood way down to a mysterious close. The echoing sound of water and eerie isolationist synth washes recall BOC. The beat is straight current-day Hip-Hop, tight snares rolling over dangerously low Miami-strength bass. Game over.

'The Inevitable End', is Röyksopp's second album release in the space of 6 months, following the critically acclaimed mini album 'Do It Again' with fellow Scandinavian legend Robyn . 'The Inevitable End' is their most personal album to date and features Jamie McDermott (The Irrepressibles), Ryan James (Man Without Country), Norwegian singer songwriter Susanne Sundfør and Robyn. Having now created five complete bodies of work, the pair feel like the future is open to being more experimental with how they share their music.'We feel like this is a goodbye to the traditional album format,' explains Svein. 'In our consecutive run of albums, we have been able to say what we want to say and do what we want to do with the LP. We're not going to stop making music, but the album format as such, this is the last thing from us.' Opening track 'Skulls' feels like classic Röyksopp - all squelchy bass lines, filtered synths and vocodered, yet soulful vocals - the album also takes in sophisticated, delicate heartbreak on the Man Without Country collaboration 'Sordid Affair'; odd, shape-shifting ambience on the Robyn-featuring 'Rong'; bouncing electro pop on the deceptively upbeat 'Save Me' and the deliriously sad, cry-on-the-dance floor classic, 'I Had This Thing'.

Picking up from an earlier professional relationship, but under another alias, the "Melodymann" goes back to the roots on this release alongside celebrated producer, Rennie Foster.
A full exotic and sensual two track release with the beautiful "Goodjazz" delivered by Rennie Foster. This sounds like the place where summer meets spring, and jazz musicians meet drum machines. The acoustic, filtered sounds are sublimely melted into the drums with classic vocal work used to amplify the message even more.
Label artist, Melodymann, develops his sound even further with "Trusoul" and widens the musical horizon for house music visionaries. The warm rhodes and funky bass signatures in the track are timeless, yet contemporary. While the sax riff makes you wander by yourself in Cuba smoking a Havana while drinking brown rum in the sun.
A special feature on this release is a raw cut from a Dexter Gordon interview talking about music in the late 60's.

IDJUT BOYS started in early 90s, when House Music was heading for the bubbly, wild excitement, and they have always been active in an underground scene which has been drawing the line at the mainstream. Carrying on the tradition of House and Disco, they have ever played an important role in forming the House and Disco culture in UK, producing the intoxicating groove of Funk and Dub, which is the significant factor in House and Disco. They also have been supported and loved in Japan together with DJ HARVEY, even in the days when the scene of Club and Party was being reformed in 2000s, so to speak, Summer of Love 'in Japan.' Their longawaited 7 single is released from a label ALTZMUSICA, which is presided by ALTZ, who has made sworn friends with them since ALTZ's tracks 'Yello' and 'Tune In' were remixed by them in 2005. This work is an Edit & Dub work based on guitars and basses performed by ANDY HOPKINS, who is like an associatemember of IDJUT BOYS. It has dance groove which consists in a psychedelic perspective which, as it were, reminds us of the primitive, fluid wriggle before dawn. The groove is also positive energy. A remix by ALTZ, 'VERSION ALTZ,' on Bside is reconstructed in different dub work from the original, taking over the viewpoint of IDJUT BOYS. It is a version which has gained strength and experimental taste by more progressive editing and effecting.

Next pattern by The Analog Roland Orchestra. A homage to his heroes and the feeling they left since 1995. This analog one take live jam consists of a rough SH-101 bassline accompanied by it's beloved fellows 808 & 909 and Juno-6. Live, analog, raw and this time distorted to punk the floor.

Almighty is an intelligent and fun tribal tech-house track from swedish producer Hakan Ludvigson and offers complex rhythms and a quirky voice.Per Hammar (Great Stuff Recordings) adds a huge mainroom house remix tothe pack - real chart-topping material! LP has been a must have, or must find, for collectors and DJs for years. Full of breaks galore, this really is a
killer album.

Newly remastered reissue. "Summer City Nights" Hard hitting 4/4 smoothed out w/soft pads & bass. Classic 90's vocal vibe w/Yvonne Gage on the mic. "My House" rides the line between deep &driving; Dirty Turk lays out the vox.

"Never Say Never" ist die erste Single-Auskopplung und steht exemplarisch für deren Entwicklung. Glaubte man, es sei um Basement Jaxx ruhiger geworden, so irrt man. Zuletzt hatten sich die beiden Briten einfach anderen gemeinsamen Projekten verschrieben. So komponierten sie den Soundtrack zum Spielfilm "Attack The Block" und arbeiteten mit dem Metropole Orchestra an neu arrangierten Jaxx-Klassikern mit Streichern. Umso mehr merkt man "Junto" die Lust an, sich wieder dem Kern des eigenen Werkes mit neuem Schwung zuzuwenden. Mit dem Anspruch Pop und Avantgarde aufeinander loszulassen und dabei clevere Dancefloor-Beats beizumischen, berauscht das Album gerade zu. "Mermaids Of Salinas" ist brasilianisch angehaucht, "Something about you" besticht durch die zauberhafte Melodie.

The second of two collaborative 12inch releases by Sonar Kollektiv and Especial Records (the label run by Yoshihiro Okino from Kyoto Jazz Massive) showcases the aspiring talent of DJ Kawasaki. Since his debut 'Beautiful' from 2006 he became a staple and a new ambassador for Japanese club and dance music. It's been already five years since his first remix for Sonar Kollektiv ('Dark Soldier' by Roland Appel in 2009) and you can surely hear how his production skills have even sharpened over the time.

Since its foundation in 1997 Jazzanova always had a big following in Japan. And theintercultural exchange with the Japanese DJ scene has been brisk ever since. However, now for the very first time a remix 12inch jam-packed with works by artists from the land of the rising sun.In collaboration with Especial Records (Kyoto Massive member Yoshihiro Okino's label) four remixes for 'Now There Is We', Jazzanova's last single, had been commissioned. Starting things off is Kuniyuki Takahashi, producer and sound designer from Sapporo. The Future Jazz apostle bends and breaks - Now There Is We' until he puts down an impelling jazz piano accompanied track which would even bring tears to the late Frankie Knuckle's eyes.A completely different approach is applied by Mano Arriba (Spanish for - Hands up!'): Under his direction the song mutates to become a carnival-compliant salsa rhythm. Absolutely striking!

Such is the importance of Russell's contribution to the modern music scene that many consider his work to be untouchable but several modern day producers have carefully picked out key elements of his songs whilst recording entirely new and up to date soundtracks. Yam Who, Faze Action, singer Mary Moore, NYC's Pocketknife have worked hard to create entirely new instruments and vocals with additional remix work coming from Radio Slave.

In addition Peter Gordon who worked with Arthur Russell on many of the original releases has collaborated; adding his musicianship to the newly created cover of 'Go Bang'. Further collaborations from Arthur's friends and musicians, Steven Hall & Joyce Kirby, also provide a new version of 'Lucky Cloud' which is produced by NYC's Pocketknife.
