Pure warmth and a deephouse beauty by East German arrangement perfectionist Jan Ketel. Including a not-from-this-world version by Rose Record's Luvless and a collaboration with his mate Siggatunez, Jan Ketel's Girliewood EP leads you to the warmer days and brings heat to the floor.
Starting with the title song, Jan Ketel introduces us to his understanding of deepness. A warm and thick pad wrapped into a filigree arrange ment of percussive high-drums, combined with an impulsive kick-drum, Girliewood builds a paralyzing intro. It develops to a first break, which emphasizes the deep groove to the point, when the kick drum comes back again. It becomes a very groovy and harmonic song, which builds itself up again. Added with well arranged keys and constantly moving drum elements, it gets to the point where it came from.
A2 is Luvless' slower version of Walking Away (B2), which could be described as a drifty but sedate floor-filler. Luvless uses a well collected drum set, containing a very pregnant dynamic and organic clap sound combined with a constantly playing murder bassline at the beginning. Step by step and in a well thought out way, main elements of the original enter the song to a part you could call the height. After that it comes to a long break, which prepares and makes you needing the last part. Luvless brings back the full effect and rounds up his version by minimizing it to a percussive end, containing that heavy bassline. It ends where it started and fits more than perfectly into the context of the whole EP. What a killer...thanks for that!
Over on B1 'Background' is a co-production with his buddy Siggatunez. Characterized by a dirty rhodes chord line and a very dynamic and constantly moving arrangement, it perfectly flows from the beginning to the end. In between, a lot of sample-work happens, which mainly includes a divided voice, a chopped piano-line and an electric key-patch and makes 'Background' highly melodic and harmonic.
Finally 'Walking Away' drives heavy from the beginning on. A pumping bassline kick-drum-clap-ensemble directly screws into your stomach to a point, where the very warm and harmonic main pad/bell/electric-key-sample appears from nowhere. From this time on, 'Walking Away' rises up to a height by adding very nice but descent parts step by step. It does not stop flowing until it comes to the break, which makes you just want more...and you will get exactly what you need, when the kick-drum drops again...till Jan brings it to a perfect end.
The Girliewood EP is a piece of music as we all deserve it...round, deep, warm and a must have this summer...Jan Ketel gets your soul moving.

The second release on Tokyo and Hong Kong based label Palms & Charms takes you back to a moment in your life when perhaps things weren't going right.

It was late, you'd had a couple of large rum and sodas and were nursing a cold beer against the sub-tropical humidity.
You took to the streets, and as you paced through the 2am gloom a fine rain began to fall, illuminated by the light of the waxing gibbous moon till it shone like 'Slow Hot Confetti'.

You slowly smiled and realised everything was going to be alright.
Side A closes with a remix from Max Essa (Jansen Jardin, Is It Balearic), giving an assertive step to your stride as you walk on to brighter days.

On side B, 'The Planet I Left Behind' is a space-disco odyssey, telling a tale of the interplanetary longing of pan-cosmic travel.
Missing home, you steer your rocket-ship through the infinity of space, heading firmly in the direction of the dance-floor, where other-worldly beings wave multiple limbs.
The journey continues as Coyote (Is It Balearic Recordings), offer a pulsating remix of galactic proportions.

HVL is back on Rough House Rosie with a second solo EP. The tracks for this release were recorded in a strange surrounding far away from home and friends. This time everything is more darker, deeper and 'progressive'.

The 6th Copy of the black gold on Mimique-records comes with clenched Frankfurt / Oder power. After this statement, just two names are eligible for musiclovers, Marco Fender and Andy Kohlmann. The two are known for excellent releases on labels like Supdub, Lordag, Kol Mojito, Karateclub, Extrasmart and Damm rec. through which they put their skills to the test in recent years, now comes the next installment of the saga Fender & Kohlmann called "Flowkati EP". The result is a musically well balanced release with dance guarantee. At the latest after the Vinyl is spinning the third time on the turntable, it will admit even the last doubts. As icing on the cake Ron Flatter contributes a very sonorous remix, which perfectly rounds off the EP. The tracks Flowkati and Libanese contain vocals by Leeroy.

Demonstrating the diversity we have thrived on since we started out, Circus Company moves merrily from the intimate songwriting tones of Noze's Come With Us LP to the expansive dancefloor scope of Carlos Nilmmns. The Scottish-born, Paris-based artist arrives at our label with a strong reputation behind him, proudly championing the influence of Detroit and Chicago while delivering his own harmonious approach to electronic soul music. Both as one half of Solab and on his own, Carlos has delivered his music through such esteemed imprints as 4 Lux, Skylax, Seventh Sign and Ornaments while at the same time collaborating with artists such as Niko Marks and many more besides. On True Chemistry Carlos demonstrates just how diverse he can be as an artist, dealing in tough peak time energy and serene bliss without missing a beat. Throughout the EP the key ingredient is imagination, as swooning melodies collide with rock-solid percussion in completely fresh arrangements that feel classic even as they simultaneously sound like nothing else out there. The unhinged synth tones on 'Pride' seem to be beamed from somewhere far from Earth, while the head-spinning 'When In Glasgow' provides comfort in its looped-up dancefloor focus while it rolls out in an alien configuration. Featuring Keter Darker on vocal duties, 'Universal Beauty' finishes the EP off in beautiful style with a sumptuous, emotional take on deep house that avoids obvious tricks and focuses on serious compositional skill to tell an arresting story. This is a record that delivers on every level for us, both surprising and enjoyable, heartfelt and funky but most importantly original.

Dirty Minds - I'm For Pleasure (Claptone vocal + dub mix) is the first in a series of Eskimonde 10" releases. Limited edition, with exclusive artwork.

The Claptone remix of I'm for Pleasure was one of the many highlights on our anniversary box Eskimonde - A decade of Eskimo Recordings. The vocal version is featured on the Remixed disc of Eskimonde, which contains 12 new and unreleased remixes. Now it will be available on vinyl too. The 10" is backed by a yet unreleased Claptone dub mix of the track.

Second episode of the Mystic Jungle saga, mini-album emerged from the deepness

This Session Deluxe is made by our french friends Jules & Moss. These very sympathetic guys are one of the French artists revelations of 2011. Their tracks, released on great labels like Traum, Dirtybird, Supdub, Musik Gewinnt Freunde, Brise Records, What! What!, Monique Musique, Fantastic Friends. Moss possesses a funded, classical piano education and composing skills, first approved in Alternative and New Wave. On the other hand, Jules grew up with Rock and Jazz, started drums at the age of 5 and improved himself by playing drums and percussion in several bands. Together they develop several "Live Act" with electronic interfaces & electronic drums, playing them own productions, with wishes to compose with sound recordings by themselves or acoustic instruments.
Now they present four great, deep and catchy tech house tracks. All tracks are well produced and having a big groove. Jules & Moss are using a lot of different elements, some more housy, then a bit minimal. That completes a great package with four original dance floor tunes.
The remix is made by Berlin`s Jens Bond. Jens is well known from his releases on Highgrade, Sender and many more famous labels. His remix is a real bomb. A bit more straight on than the original. Vocal snippets and classical house elements are giving that tack a very special mood. Great Job by Jens!

San Francisco veteran producers and champions of sound Romanowski and DJ Smash team up with NYCT's Midnight Lab Band to a deliver a killer double-sided dose of Studio 2 versions. Originally released on Romanowski's appropriately titled LP, The Return Of Steady Rocking: Romanowski & Friends, these two exclusive mixes take the skanking original in two divergent directions. When Romanowski meets DJ Smash, the drums collide at maximum force with a classic boom-bap downtempo beat echoing the heyday of the acid jazz era these two heavyweights helped invent. When Romanowski meets Midnight Lab Band, the beat floats into MLB's comfort zone of drum machine-fueled space age hypnosis. Pressed on opaque white vinyl and housed in an exquisite premium package illustrated by cartoonist Gideon Virgadamo, the single is a perfect capsule of the crew's unique vibes and personality.

Vocalist Wayne Snow first appeared on Max Graef's critically acclaimed debut album from last year and later his solo E.P 'Red Runner' on Tartelet Records. Recently, Wayne featured on French producer Darius Helios EP, which will be out in April on Roche Music.For this release he's again teamed up with Max Graef and team Tartelet.
This second EP 'Rosie' delivering a fresh badge of rugged soulfulness over off-kilter chords, body shaking basslines & dusty beats as Max does best. Combining Wayne's falsetto vocals with Max's beats and production for a record that heralds the sunshine and a spring of cold beers, rowing boats on the Spree and strong sativa. A1. 'Interlude' - Wayne demonstrates his range on this dreamy falsetto introduction while tipping his hat to both past and contemporary vocalists.

Remix wise. On the flip delivered by newcomers Nu Guinea, serving up a slow burning jam paying tribute to early St. Germain work, while German hip-hop producer Hurbert Daviz slows it down for a between-the-sheets hymn high on harmonics. .

Limited reissue of this hugely influential and ultra-rare record, originally released in 1983 on miniscule Italian label Recordbreaker (KKK was its only release). A slow and hauntingly beautiful track with strange electro-sounding bubbling synths and compulsive dark electronic bassline, this is an example of the absolute best in italo-disco and is a must for the serious collector or just anyone who loves great music.

CT-HI confirms itself as a consistent musical collective exploring different sound platforms. Spacey and future atmospheres, detroitian boogie flavours, and raw/solid drum patterns.

Jazz Madicine's (the duo formed by turbojazz and parker madicine) "M.A.S.H" is a killer track, full of jazz samples, powerful beats, rolling synth arps and a groovy bass.

Turbojazz with "DAT Soul", confirms his "fusion dance music" vision creating jazzy atmospheres with warm pads and progressive rhythyms. The characteristic moog bass sound gives the right feeling to the dance floor sweet- ened by the distorted notes of Rhodes piano.

Parker Madicine's "Exists" is a cosmic/boogie production enriched with progressive soul jazz chords, fragmented bass sounds and grainy fat drum patterns, with a chopped and interpolated jazz fusion sample.

DNN debuts on CT-HI with "Skunk Wave". A sharpie future beat full of deep frequencies, side chains and dreamy pads.
