The last couple of years have been huge for Pomo, going from a relatively obscure Canadian producer to releasing his debut EP on HW&W, remixing for the likes of Janet Jackson and Mark Ronson, producing "Am I Wrong" on Anderson Paak's debt album and touring the globe with Disclosure as their opening act. Bastard Jazz has commissioned Pomo to be next in line for the fourth volume of their "Tempo Dreams" compilation series, following on the heels of the hotly contested Soul Clap compiled Vol. 3. As with other Tempo Dreams records, Pomo has curated a slick and well polished album full of exclusive tracks from friends and collaborators such as Lindsay Lowend, Aloka, Exmag, Syre, Daniel Crawford, FVLCRVM and more. Touching on the shimmering nudisco sound, plodding deep electronic vibes, funky instrumental hip-hop, and even a hint of drum'n'bass, Tempo Dreams Vol. 4 takes it's rightful place in the series as one of the most forward thinking compilations showcasing emerging young talent.

Marquis Hawkes returns with a new EP for Houndstooth, 'Sweet'. Pairing up a sugary R&B sample with his signature swinging but slamming beats, opening cut 'When I Get Home' is a return to the flavour of last year's summer smash 'Can't Find A Reason', although this time around, it's more tracky and introspective. Next up, a different facet of Hawkes' production talents is reprised with 'At The Witness Stand', a trippy take on classic NY freestyle. Opening the B-side, title track 'Sweet' furthers Hawkes' trademark rough and ready house sound with distinctive vocal hooks and a hip-twitching rhythm, whilst bringing up the rear, 'What A Relief' is a raw but inescapably funky drum workout that would make the likes of Traxmen & Eric Martin proud.

The 10&11th release of ROOM FULL OF RECORDS is OPSB(One Piece Session Band)again! OPSB is a three piece band and with the numbers Yoshiharu Yoshida (Flute, Pianica, Synth), PONCHI (Guitar, MPC), RYUNOSHIN (Bass). They have performed at lots of big stages regardless or not because of their live performance policy. Also, they are skaters, too, so they have many fans all over the world not only from their music but also from their skating. The 10th release Fullmoon' taste of exotic, rockin'. Thrilling bass line and exotic flute melody are coming at the first half but after that rough and edge guitar appear. The remix is Tokyo Black Star (Alex From Tokyo and Isao Kumano). It's solid and simple for direct to dancefloor because of long experience of DJing of Alex. He is playing a lot and getting the bomb from the dancefloor.
The 11th release is Slum Jazz Punk' ' sessão no céu'! Slum Jazz Punk' is taste not only punk rock but also free jazz. It's not standard 4beat dance music but it must be going to spread out to another genres. The remixer is Tadashi Yabe who is the member of UFO (united future organization). Swinging beat and acoustic guitar bring us to the air of Portuguese sessão no céu' is suit to listening and dance floor!

On the flipside, Silverback staple The Phantom reinterprets Parque da Liberdade as an old school flavoured, meditation-tinged piano jam, while London heavyweight Ikonika injects the same track with a dose of her trademark retrofuturistic funky.

Ronald Burrell's reputation as deep house royalty has long been solidified throughout the years having released on many legendary labels since the late 80's including Nervous, Nu-Groove, Strictly Rhythm & many more. Working both solo and alongside his brother Rheji his output has always caught the interest and ears of dance music aficionados world-wide with a heady mixture of Gospel, Soul / R&B, Jazz, & Garage heavily informing his sound.

Surprising as it is, "It's A Boy" was never released, only ever existing as a test pressing! The 4 track EP takes in all the musical influences listed above and flips them into some seriously deep territory. Opener "Journey" is an epic jam punctuated by an 808 cowbell, beautiful pads, strings and Ronald's voice asking us to join him on a journey through our own minds. Second cut "Feelin Jazzy" picks up the pace a little, a stripped back rhythm blessed with some choice, chopped up Jazz samples and vocal stabs keeps things moving in the right direction. Over on side-B we are treated to the deepest groove of "Bedtime Story", which has all the trademarks of a classic Burrell production, soulful vocals, melodies and crisp drum programming. Closing track "The Crib" rounds things with off with a stomping church inspired organ groove, an up-lifting end to the EP.

As mentioned above, this is the very first time this underground House classic has ever been released! This record is a real collectors piece and has commanded collectors prices on-line in the past, a real rarity. It has been re-mastered and re-pressed in conjunction with Ronald Burrell from his original DAT tapes and all original label artwork has been preserved.

After a strong release by Soul In The Hole's Disco godfather Sadar Bahar, KALAKUTA SOUL RECORDS returns with a strong three tracker by the hands of West Atlantis' best kept secret Cuttlefish & Asparagus that celebrate their third release on the label. This time, the duo dedicates the A Side of this three-tracker to never ending dances with a touching vocal that goes through body and soul. On the other hand, the B Side is a sure shaker and a massive dancefloor oriented set of tracks that brings out the Boogie in every single person in the club.

SoulPhiction and The Missing Linkx combine forces again on this split 12inch on Philpot. The Missing Linkx are kickin' it off with a classic tool, bringin' some jack moves to the table while SoulPhiction on the flip dug out some reels and found this little diamond of fuzzy Psych-Disco-Dub.

Mr Trum* wakes up at his Manhattan residency a bit dizzy from his late night scotch and cigars with some right winged peers. After his classic raisin and bran breakfast, he decides to flirt with the raver community in order to win some votes for the upcoming elections. His decision seems irrevocable now, the first measure he will adopt if he gets elected is to build a wall of sound on the whole Mexican border and start a macro rave under the premise of "We are all immigrants".Inspired by this extraordinary situation, 4 producers (Hack Force One, Pau Roca, Scott Ferguson & the enigmatic 3%) reached a sonic epiphany and the second EP of Black Money Records emerged.

Soundwave' is a new step in the ambitious artistic path of the trio. After the success of the Henry Wu & Chaos in the CBD releases, Rhythm Section International present their 9th offering, from Mancunian newcomer 'Contours'.
'Technician' is a percussion led rhythmic exploration, spanning 6 tracks which take in down-tempo grooves to up-beat workouts, all held together by a smooth, lucid sonic palette and arresting, unorthodox live percussive elements.
Already an accomplished drummer and percussionist, Contours manages to combine driving rhythm, lush textures and hypnotic melodies to create a sound that feels very much at home as part of the Rhythm Section imprint, while simultaneously pushing it forward into new, undiscovered territory. Bushwick 90210, the second 12" release from William Roy's 99¢ Dreams imprint, is an homage to the revered New York graffiti artists of Bushwick's bygone era, and a love letter to the insular and dysfunctional contemporary Myrtle Avenue music scene.

Conor's an extremely influential, yet somewhat mysterious figure in SF's disco and house underground. Jazz & Milk turns TEN! To celebrate a decade full of music the Munich based label offers a limited vinyl 12" edition which comes in a hand-drawn and numbered sleeve - 300 copies available only! Since 2005 Jazz & Milk offers an experimental playground for international artists. On Ten Years of Jazz & Milk four exclusive tracks are brought to you by the likes of Sam Irl, Mieux, Todd Simon & The Angel City All Star Brass Band and label founder Dusty.

On the A-side label artist Sam Irl brings Dub culture onto electronic dance floors. Dreams is a forward driven introspective dub track built around a heavy steppas-influenced rhythm and deep bassline. Expect his full-length solo debut album to released later this year on Jazz & Milk!

Mieux is an upcoming duo from Vienna, famous for their lively Boiler Room performance last year or rather recently their latest album "Are You Happy", which was heavily featured by the likes of Gilles Peterson, testpressing.org, billboard.com and many more. With Technotrap they contribute a playful and dreamy uptempo tune that cleverly balances a straight-forward driven beat with harmonic and repetitive melodic figures.

Label head Dusty joins the EP with a slow-house MPC jam called Heavy Lights. After a dreamy intro the track soon fades into a hypnotic direction based on percussive vibes, big bottom samples and heavy hitting snares.

Todd Simon's arrangement, blending multiple versions of a classic for his 21-piece ensemble featuring himself on Flügelhorn and Alan Lightner on Steel Drums. Recorded live to tape in an 80 year-old studio located in the heart of Hollywood.

Atjazz Record Company is pleased to welcome back prolific artist and dapper gent Fred Everything. From Canada to the UK, this skillful and ever-present producer brings over 20 years of talent and experience to bear on this exciting new release.
We delve into the offering firstly with the titular track: O. A soft and muted start slowly builds up into a fizzy melodic vibe that is undercut with a tasty bass riff. As the track drives on, the harmonies continue to build until they crescendo with a dreamy high-end hook juxtaposed with stippled sour characters.
Then Mr ARCo. himself, Atjazz, enters the fray with the Galaxy Aart Remix. Staccato rhythms and active bass notes combine with engaging pops of synth to further illustrate Atjazz's mastering of his craft.We follow this with Her, a meaty beats and bass orgy that effortlessly builds into a shimmering and crystalline cut. This track perfectly showcases Fred's commitment to quality legitimate music and you will not be disappointed!
We conclude with the shorter and sharper Devil In The Dub remix where only the lightest of tweaks and touches is applied, but this brings a fresh and compelling sound to an already impressive track.

The Nang crew are back with their yearly round up of all that is spiffing here at Nang towers... Volume 7 of the Array is here. 7 years... wow we are getting old.

Anyhow onto the tunes and a step back to the 80s with (the amazingly named) Hot Hot Hawk and their 80s synth and guitar micro-epic "Atlanta Skyline". Next we head straight for a slice of catchy-vocal disco house from those talented Italians Irregular Disco Workers with "Yesterday". It's a stomper. Talking of vocal house stompers, next up is an exclusive (to this comp) mix from Russian remixer wonder-crew Kim and Buran. They take "Downtown Girl" from the Mexican based Future Feelings to a whole heap of new and interestingly funky places.

Nang head honcho is up next with one of his rare (and over the top) musical excursions "Ponies It's the Flowertruck". Don't ask about the title, but groove wise we angling toward the 80s with "lexicon of love" type orchestra arrangement and slidey-moog-bass overtures. Karaman gets disco-house funky next with "My Touch" before West Coast based Aimes takes things up a dancefloor notch or two with his wonky-funk groover "Trepadado".

No Nang compilation is complete without some space or sci-fi references in the mix somewhere..., and "Taking Control" from Moskva Kassiopeya does just that. Space -Disco - Rock..., we have lift off. Nanka then slows the pace down a tad with Blue Azure on their foreboding and melodic song. Bestinspace keep the space theme flowing with their bleepy-sci-fi Nu Disco. Just a touch of 80s power vocal in there too...,.

UK based Martin Davis keeps the big room disco house fires burning next with "Inflation" as does Italian Nang newcomer Romain Bezzina with his big-time swinging disco epic "Late Night Dance". Russian producer Hemul teams up with Sportloto on the remix for the electronic funk workout "Supernova" just before handing over to Nang long-time collaborator and all-round DJ whirlwind, Rayko. His stabby synth and catchy guitar from brand new track "Crazy" being a great starting point for future Nang material.

We round things off with the Stone Funk collective take on the summer sound scape "Beach Coma" from the Korvids (another exclusive to this comp) and Kazakhstan newcomers Wawawiwas with their thoughtful, melancholic synthfest "Sea Of Dispair". Sportloto makes another appearance with his slightly jazzy, delightfully quirky vibraphone & flute fest "Ruines". We leave things big, dancefloor and chunky with "Begin" from Russian producer Folano.

As the D EDGE label clocks up release number 24, it turns to the Phil Hinter Ensemble for a fantastic three track package that is lled with fresh house vibes. Phil Hinter Ensemble is a joint project by Phil's main pillars Philogresz and German Simon Hinter. They have ties with labels like their own Phil, Love Unlimited Vibes and of course D-EDGE.  Previous EPs have gone down well around the world and Simon Hinter's smart grooves and sample based ll-ins blends with the wombastic bass and shivering synth lines of Philogresz perfectly. Up rst is 'The Owl,' a squelchy, synthetic house track with lively drums and chords and magical trumpets all making for a party starting track. It is perfectly arranged and expertly musical, unlike much of today's plastic and sample heavy sounds.  'In The Air' then gets even more playful with glossy synth stabs, rumbling bass and diva vocals all bouncing along in a charismatic style that is full of colour. 'Struggle' then gets intimate and nal with scurrying little percussive sounds, burst of afro vocal, down low sine waves and icy snares all making for a perfectly seductive minimal techno brew. 

Deepblak's Chief Connoisseur presents his first full-length & further grows his Afro-inflected house vibe into spiky new directions featuring compelling vocals of Khalil Anthony and some assistance from Afrikan Sciences.
