Since 2015 Tiger Stripes has been an invaluable contributor to Drumcode's 'little brother' Truesoul.
As recent as March he released 'Sound of the Bettest' in collaboration with Riva Starr, their fresh ragga influenced take on techno entrenched as a 2018 highlight for the label.
Drawing from a wide palette of sounds to craft his groovy, personality-laden take on techno, the Swede has produced arguably his finest work yet with the 'Insanity' EP.
'Baby' is a melting pot of three decades worth of influences, from James Brown, to Northern Soul and indie pop of Ariel Pink.
The result is a stunning kaleidoscopic techno treat, that brims with rave, garage and funky house spirit. 'Insane' is a dynamic feast for the eardrums as trippy arpeggios, a persistent vocal and lush synth leads cascade throughout the seven-minute track.
'Too Deep (to Bear) follows, an exhilarating slice of late-night techno before the EP concludes with 'Dying Planet', mixing up a potent environmental message with tough dancefloor functionalism.

Four tracks from another new school Detroit name who's been around for decades, Tink Thomas, who returned to his first musical love - house - after forging a highly successful name for himself as a hip-hop and r&b producer, not least producing for Madonna's Maverick label.

Although they would happily fit in alongside the latest Kyle Hall or Theo Parrish, thanks to some sexily syncopated work in the rhythmic department, there's a markedly different vibe to the likes of overtly disco-slanted rug cutter 'Gonna Make U Dance' and the prominently reggae flavoured overtones of 'Wat A Bam' and 'Mistic Flow', that means it'll stand out while knowing exactly how to keep the faithful on their feet. Irresistible.

Three distinctly outer space-themed cuts from Greece's Alex Celler, each with a linear minimal/tech skeleton that has other, interloping musical influences draped elegantly and classily across it. 'Ancient Astronuats' has the weird, wired mystical stirrings of early Black Dog about it, complete with melting, bendy electro notations that coax it along and add a psychedelic dimension. 'Stargate To Cosmos' has a playful, Drexciyan feel to it, with crunchy, organic drum beats flirting alongside the more rigid electrics. 'Object In The Sky' is the most minimal of the pack, sleek and stalker-like, but still contains enough action - mainly floating around up there in the ether - to hold and build attention.

Up next we welcome Chinese artist B.AI to the Pleasure Club family for a trip into a melodic cyberspace.

Fusing elements of techno, electro & electronica, and accompanying this with her musical training, she has formed a style completely of her own. One which references the past whilst journeying into the future, and stirs memories of a time we are yet to discover.

Dino Lenny’s latest two singles for Belgian titan R&S Records get coupled together for a vinyl release. ‘Lose Control’ and ‘Washington Street’ are both served up with alternate mixes.

The London based Italian producer fired out another irresistible club heater on the ‘Lose Control’ single, racking up Top Ten chart positions across the dance DSPs. On the Tea With Quincy Mix, legendary American musician Jerry Hey in drafted in to add his unmistakable horn playing to this version of ‘Lose Control. Hey is a highly seasoned orchestrator and session musician, playing on hundreds of classic recordings including Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, ‘Rock With You’ and ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’, and also playing with Earth, Wind & Fire, Donna Summer, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, George Benson and numerous others, including Quincy Jones, whom the mix title doffs its cap to.

A special ‘4am Mix’ of ‘Washington Street’ from Dino Lenny himself sits on the flip side, a propelling and heavyweight dancefloor cut laced with seductive saxophone and climaxing with sparkling melodic electronics.

From House To Disco is a hotly tipped all-female duo known for their fine taste in records, in-depth research into house history and fresh productions. They have been tipped as ones to watch by Brazilian tastemaker Renato Cohen and have released on his Massa Records as well as Get Physical's COCADA Music. Now they tap into the esteemed Definitive Recordings catalogue and add their own spin to four tracks which make up this EP, which will also be included on the 12-track 'Disco House For All' compilation which includes more key selections from the label.

First up, they tackle Blunted Dummies's 'House For All' and flip it into a thumping house cut with old-school synth stabs and a low-slung bassline. Their remix of Las America's 'Look, Listen, Love' brings jacked-up drums with plenty of original Chicago swagger, seductive vocals and a raw analogue bassline. The duo then bring a deep and stylish twist to Wax Fruit's 'Be Yourself', which has rueful pads that encourage you to gaze off into the distance, lost in thought, while the tender piano chords bring extra soul. Last of all is their fresh remix of Barada's 'Gasoline', which is a driving deep house gem with neon chord vamps and another timeless bassline.

Hot off the heels of Bassline 88-89, Mike Huckaby returns on SYNTH with a reissue of two of his most sought after productions- "Flashbacks" from M3 Records (1997), and his very own remix of Precession "Sandcastle," taken from the Adventures Of Techno Soul LP on Ferox Records (1996). The wait is now over!

Relentless techno powerhouses Octave One stride in 2022 with a brand new release that re-affirms their status across two essential tracks. 2021 was another busy year for the Burden Brothers, who re-introduced the world to their Never On Sunday alias. The project first started in the 90s as an outlet for deeper, more introspective sounds and was fittingly brought back last year to great acclaim. The Detroit duo’s Locus of Control series also hit volume number three and the iconic Octave One live show continued to light up clubs everywhere from Barcelona, Paris and Geneva to LA and New York. Despite that, they still had time to cook up more of their famously soulful techno in the studio, the first two tracks of which are presented here.Opener ‘The Blue Drift’ surges ahead on waves of rattling metallic synths. Well swung claps bring that irresistible sense of groove, while twisted melodies add raw dynamics. Add in the heavy underlying bass and you have a classic Octave One track that is both physical yet emotional. On the flip side is ‘It-Just-Is’ a powerful statement of intent. It’s a stripped back track where house and techno meet - there is a seductive slide to the drums and potency in the turbulent synths which bring the energy. The melody is melancholic and as the emotive pads ring out they lodge deep in your brain to make for another standout cut. This vital new release proves Octave One remains right at the forefront of underground music more than 30 years after they started out.

Petter B delivers an outstanding new EP on Drumcode proving that Swedish techno is thriving! The first track which, is a collaboration between Petter B, John H & M.E.E.O, uses an arpegiated synth before storming to the main section of the track and breaking down the doors.

The gliding synth sounds really fire with all guns blazing to produce a techno monster that growls. Petter B's next two tracks involve two solo offerings that are heavily techno based.

'Voltage Controlled Time' uses raw distorted drums and a catchy synth line to really give the track a lot of energy and power.

Dance music traditionalist Tom Carruthers joins Craigie Knowes. Tom’s commitment to the ruff n’ ready sound of dance music’s formative years is unshaken on the De-Facto EP, bundled with the same synths, drum machines, samplers and FX used in the by-gone golden era of the UK acid, breaks and hardcore scenes. Soul is found in disorder, not in a world that places false hope in perfectionism.

The first release from KLV has arrived, and it is shrouded in mystery. B1 From Colonia’s Kpo brings us 'Psithurism', a track focused on the dancefloor with lively hi-hats and heavenly bass seasoned with a catchy clubby melody.


B2 ‘Disturbed System’ with Moroccan Origins Of Time closes the vinyl with a well-rounded track, an authentic late-night banger with resounding kicks and vigorous bass, reminiscent of Detroit in spacey vocals. 180g & limited copies.

Saturn Drive label head, Alain de Saracho, releases his debut EP “Acid Love”. An homage to acid house, the title track features original hypnotic vocals, along with psychedelic synth tricker, over an old school house groove. “Acid Love” is accompanied by a polished, stripped down rendition by Parisians: Djebali & Politics Of Dancing.

The EP includes 2 B sides: “Ray of Flights” & “Night Clapper”. The former is a tech-house acid banger which grows in tension via its swelling, tripped out synth work. “Night Clapper” follows the lead of its predecessor with a less climatic, but equally intense drive.

Over the past decade, Egyptian-born, Barcelona-based DJ and techno producer Raxon, known to friends and family as Ahmed Raxon, has popped out a steady stream of twelve-inch singles, precision-tooled, for labels like Cocoon, Drumcode, Diynamic, Truesoul, and Ellum Audio. An alumni of Kompakt’s Speicher series – check the insistent, vibrating pulses of “The Ancient” and “Dark Light” on 2019’s Speicher 107 – with Sound Of Mind, Raxon has produced a long-awaited debut album that’s ready and aching both for the dancefloor and the boudoir, traversing the heat of the club and the warmth of the home.

“The idea of an album has always floated around in my head for the past few years,” Raxon confirms, “but it was never the right moment in my mind.” Instead, he’s been insistently pursuing his vision of deep, elegant techno, taking him from early DJ gigs in Dubai, including the legendary audio tonic night, then relocating to Europe on the recommendation of Herman Cattaneo, all the while allowing his experiences to inform and transmute his producer’s thumbprint. He’s an architect by training (though he gave architecture up for electronic music), which might explain why Raxon productions are so sturdy and well-designed; but remember also that architecture is a field filled with brave experimentation, something Raxon definitely draws on throughout Sound Of Mind.

Like many albums from the past twelve months, Raxon’s debut developed partly thanks to the unique social situation the planet has found itself caught within. “In the beginning of 2020 I started working on a few tracks with the album in mind,” he recalls, “with no idea of what’s to come in the next few months. As catastrophic as the situation was/is, I found myself in the studio; in a way the lockdown gave me that creative freedom in the studio, to try to tell my story through sound.” And indeed, there is something in the way of ‘life writing’ about Sound Of Mind, particularly in the way Raxon’s productions pay subtle homage, perhaps, to his formative listening experiences in the late nineties.

It’s no retro trip, but there’s plenty of variety here, and a few moments that’ll tickle the collective memory – see the prowling pulsations of the opening “Majestic”, the alien breakbeat action of “Vice” and “Journey Mode”, where the interstellar tones feel like Foul Play or Steve Gurley, the leaking gas and woozy keys that make “Droid Solo” so subtly destabilising, or the strobelight drones that sputter and flare throughout “El Multiverse”, where dappled organ tones fight it out with interdimensional transmissions, all sucked into the vortex of a late-night techno mantra. Beautifully sculpted, Sound Of Mind feels consummate, an elegant set that pulls Raxon’s vision into its sharpest focus. Alive with possibilities, it’s a fever dream of creativity.

Nun hat Raxon mit “Sound Of Mind“ sein lang erwartetes Debütalbum produziert, das sowohl für den Dancefloor als auch für die eigenen vier Wände geeignet ist und dabei sowohl die Hitze des Clubs als auch die Wärme des eigenen Zuhauses durchmisst.

"Die Idee eines Albums schwebte in den letzten Jahren immer in meinem Kopf herum", bestätigt Raxon, "aber es gab nie den richtige Moment." Stattdessen verfolgte er leidenschaftlich seine Vision von tiefem, elegantem Techno, die ihn von frühen DJ-Gigs in Dubai, einschließlich der legendären Audio-Tonic-Nacht, dann auf Empfehlung von Hernan Cattaneo nach Europa führte. Im Laufe dieser Zeit sammelte er unzählige Erfahrungen, die es ihm erlaubten, seinen Stil als Produzent mehr und mehr zu transformieren. Raxon ist gelernter Architekt (obwohl er die Architektur für die elektronische Musik aufgegeben hat), was vielleicht erklärt, warum seine Produktionen so robust und gut durchdacht sind; aber man sollte auch nicht vergessen, dass Architektur bestenfalls immer ein Feld mutiger Experimente ist, etwas, worauf Raxon in “Sound Of Mind“ definitiv zurückgreift.

"Anfang 2020 habe ich angefangen, an ein paar Tracks für das Album zu arbeiten", erinnert er sich, "ohne zu wissen, was in den nächsten Monaten auf uns zukommen würde. So katastrophal die Situation auch war/ist, ich fand mich im Studio wieder; in gewisser Weise gab mir der Lockdown auch eine kreative Freiheit im Studio, um zu versuchen, eine Geschichte durch meinen Sound zu erzählen." Und in der Tat gibt es auf “Sound Of Mind“ so etwas wie eine "Lebensgeschichte", besonders in der Art und Weise, wie Raxon’s Produktionen eine subtile Hommage an seine prägenden musikalischen Erfahrungen in den späten Neunzigern darstellen.

Es ist fürwahr kein Retro-Trip, aber es gibt hier viel Abwechslung und ein paar Momente, die das kollektive Gedächtnis kitzeln werden - zum Beispiel der sich langsam heran pirschende Pulsschlag im Eröffnungstrack "Majestic", oder die außerirdischen Breakbeats von "Vice" und "Journey Mode", in denen sich die interstellaren Sounds ein wenig wie Foul Play oder Steve Gurley anfühlen. Dann das ausströmende Gas und die wummernden Tasten, die "Droid Solo" subtil destabilisieren, oder die Strobo-Drones, die in "El Multiverse" herum sprudeln und flackern, wo einzelne Töne einer Orgel mit interdimensionalen Transmittern um die Wette strahlen und schließlich in den Strudel eines nächtlichen Techno-Mantras gesogen werden. “Sound Of Mind“ fühlt sich formvollendet an, wie ein elegantes Set, das Raxon’s Vision verstärkt in den Fokus rückt. Ein Fiebertraum voller Kreativität und Möglichkeiten.

Back on own imprint, Skatebård delivers his trademark sound of house & techno with a pinch of italo. The extended version filling 10 min of excellently arranged rhythm patterns elegantly surrounds an ever modulating bassline but always stays true to its techno roots. DJ Sotofett's eponymous B-side surgically explores synth-arpeggios, beatless arrangements & cosmic ambience while adventouring its 17 min of spaceous synthetic sonics.

Synthetic Gold Records returns with a selection put together by Cesare vs Disorder – 5 works from artists close to the Brazilian based DJ and producer. Highlights include a sultry number from Nervmusic artist Logdam - ethereal tones and a haunting vocal burn. A2, is a dark and moody dancefloor track Syntetic from Cesare himself, co-produced with Berlin based Weg. Also features works by Duc in Altum, a super trippy Orbital-inspired Kappen track, before finishing on the icey chill of Clubstepping by Katie Drover.

Maeve is the record label run by three close friends, Mano Le Tough, The Drifter and Baikal.
Some years ago, Mano and The Drifter ran a clubnight in Berlin called Passion Beat. Aera was their guest a couple of times. It's very fitting that Aera now joins us for Maeve 06.
Aera's original 'You Know Juno' comprises of warm arps and a dark hypnotic bassline over a jacking house beat. On first hearing the track, The Drifter was keen to do a remix. His interpretation is a dark take on the original, boosting the bassline, adding a driving beat and pushing the drama to high levels.

Good morning children, welcome to school ! What might be known from "Ipoly Mate 003", got a very different context here in the title track. Heavy club food, flavoured by Alec Troniq's love for the energy of the early 90s. "The Chain" was originally induced by Old Man Trouble and then impulsively got the blues by Alec Troniq. It has a special place in their hearts and continues Alec's series of crossover-collaborations in 2014.
