Twenty years ago, what is probably still the best collection of music by Piero Umiliani, "Musicaelettronica", was released on Easy Tempo (in our opinion, the finest Italian soundtrack label ever). The album, curated by Rocco Pandiani, focussed on the astonishing creative mastery with which Umiliani played around in his Sound Work Shop studio, where he had all kinds of analogue machines to experiment with.

Not only did albums like "Musicaelettronica" inspire the very existence of Four Flies Records, but our new Umiliani release, L'Uomo Elettronico, follows on precisely from where "Musicaelettronica" left off. While Pandiani's selection provided an insight into the playful, lighter side of Umiliani's electronic music, our release explores its introspective, esoteric side.

Thanks to unwavering support from the Umiliani family, who keeps granting us access to the Maestro's archives, we have been able to continue a journey we started three years ago with Studio Umiliani, this time unearthing some stunning electronic, cosmic pieces characterized by atmospheric vibes and carefully arranged sounds and sequences. Once again Umiliani emerges as a tireless, versatile composer whose output went well beyond 'Mah Nà Mah Nà', the hugely popular song that made him eternally famous.

The idea behind the album is to view Umiliani's electronic output as the work of a scientist of some sort – a chemist or master craftsman who created magic in his laboratory or workshop. There is a dreamy, ambient quality at work here: the Maestro builds hypnotic, minimalist sonic landscapes through layers of sharp synths, including Moog, Arp, and VCS3. This music could fit equally well in a sci-fi documentary, a post-apocalyptic film, a television report on climate change, or a journey through outer space.

L'Uomo Elettronico features 3 previously unreleased tracks, as well as rarities and hidden gems, all composed between 1972 and 1983 and remastered from the original analogue tapes.

Romanian composer and DJ, Ada Kaleh, reveals a more intricate and textured side to his compositional dexterity, releasing a new album ‘Nodus Tollens’ on the legendary ambient label, Apollo Records.

Composed and recorded between 2010 and 2020, ‘Nodus Tollens’ finds Ada Kaleh departing from the confines of minimal house and techno, and instead exploring the many facets of ambient electronica and minimalism. Drawing inspiration from minimalist artists such as Steve Reich and Terry Riley, four expansive compositions are offered up, each one transcending the boundaries of dance music dogma, and focusing on natural free-form rhythms; meditative and healing frequencies intertwine with special textures, resulting in soothing psychedelia.

Questioning the linear nature of time, each production guides the listener though whirling soundscapes, DMT realms and time loops, creating an aural safe space in which to explore. Propelled by a passion for 60’s & 70’s spiritual jazz, afro-beats and other psychedelic inducing textures, Ada Kaleh describes these musical endeavours as Quantum Techno.

Across two slabs of 12” vinyl, and four distinct passages and states of time (Future, Past, Present and Entropy), ‘Nodus Tollens’ is a seamless listening experience that heralds the development of the composer’s musical journey, which has to date afforded magnetic releases for labels like Dialogue, Rawax, R&S Records and his very own Ada Kaleh Romania imprint. Sleeve artwork on thew album comes courtesy of the super talented artist Anca Popa, now based in Cape Town after a move from her native Romania.

In 2021 experimental label & artistic platform 99CHANTS released chant#8: 'The Helicon Sessions', the debut album by Equations Collective, a multi-disciplinary artist group comprising Artefakt, Aroma Pitch, Aphelion, and Sphera De Noumenon. An expansive suite of improvised electronics combining drone, dub, techno and acid, 'The Helicon Sessions' were recorded at an outdoor, solar powered studio on Mount Helicon in Boeotia, Greece.

Following on from this in 2022, 99CHANTS presents chant#9: 'Equations Collective x Lena Platonos x Rabih Beaini', a brace of remixes that rework the album's original sessions. Inviting artists to reinterpret the release around ideas of reconstruction/deconstruction, this new record features pioneering Greek electronic musician, pianist, and lyricist Lena Platonos, in collaboration with Equations Collective member Yiorgos Konstantoulakis (aka Aphelion), alongside Lebanese-born producer, DJ and Morphine label head Rabih Beaini.

Lena Platonos x Yiorgos Konstantoulakis' Side A 'reconstruction' of 'The Helicon Sessions' explores tense sonic atmospheres and incorporates subtle, kinetic drum machine susurration from Konstantoulakis, providing a setting for Platonos' Greek language spoken word poetry. On Side B, Beaini's 'deconstruction' of the sessions dives into percussive electronics inspired by specific rituals in West Java. Performed on an 808 and outboard gear, the track gradually builds to a full-bodied crescendo before introducing understated washes of melodic colour.

Acclaimed Japanese-American producer Qrion proudly announces her debut album 'I Hope It Lasts Forever', out via Anjunadeep.

The album announcement comes alongside the release of the electric first single 'Your Love', out now. Qrion, real name Momiji Tsukada, wrote 'I Hope It Lasts Forever' primarily during the lockdown in San Francisco. 'I Hope It Lasts Forever' invokes the emotions Tsukada felt during her adventurous move from hometown Sapporo to sunny San Francisco and pays homage to Tsukada's memories of her childhood and her dad. As such, the album presents a versatile collection of electronica and club tracks, with introspective cuts like 'It's All Over' and 'Maybe It Was Already Here' appearing alongside lively club anthems such as '11-11' and 'Proud'. The album also notably features collaborations with talented British musician Flownn, Canadian vocalist and composer Kroy, and California's Mars Kasei. Speaking on the record, Tsukada highlighted the importance of nostalgia in its creation: "I connected with my old memories - the feelings of spending time with my dad, the time I lived with my family in Japan, and the small but important moments of my life from my time in Sapporo. The creative process of this album helped me to mentally connect the dots of my memories through life. Some of which I had forgotten about until I sat down and started reminiscing while working on the music. I feel music often creates a bridge to access memorable parts of our lives and in this sense 'I Hope It Lasts Forever' is a very personal and special album to me. My hope is that my music and this album will also become part of other people's memories - something that people can carry with them into the future." The first single off the album, 'Your Love', features Qrion's characteristic pulsating bass alongside staccato plucks that makes one nostalgic for summer days. The track joins Tsukada's acclaimed catalogue that has seen support by the likes of Danny Howard at BBC Radio 1 and Jason Bentley at KCRW, as well as prolific producers such as TSHA, Moon Boots, Lane 8, The Aston Shuffle, 3LAU, and Gorgon City. 'I Hope It Lasts Forever' is the latest triumph in a career that's seen Qrion release on Mad Decent, Last Night on Earth, and This Never Happened, and be named on Forbes Japan's 30 Under 30, adding to notable support from the likes of Mixmag and The Fader. Having shared the stage with Above & Beyond, Porter Robinson, Deadmau5, and Tourist, Qrion now takes to the road with her own headline tour across North America in support of the album.

If you’re going to listen to one Damata album this year, why not listen to the only one? ‘What’s Damata’ is the debut album of this Guitar Trio, and is a compilation of compositions and excerpts from improvisations recorded in January 2019. The albums attitude, while handled with a lot of caution, suggests that everything is allowed in this music, which points towards the prudence of Brian Eno and Maria Kannegaard, the freedom of Supersilent and the harmonies of Aphex Twin and Olivier Messiaen. A lot of the music has a cinematic character to it, and may at times sound like a homage to Ambient Music, Drum’n’Bass and Scandinavian Jazz and Jazz-Rock, all while preserving the organic sound from the guitar trio format and the playfulness found in improvised music. This playfulness has also planted its seeds in the mixing process; a tune might suddenly accelerate or the drums might be replaced with drum machines. The titles on the album is no exception, which one can read from titles like ‘Oslo, 32. August’, ‘Her Piece’ and ‘I Say Damata, You Say Matoma’. Further, the order of the tunes is different from each format, meaning that the vinyl track order is different than the track order on streaming services. ‘What’s Damata’ is available on vinyl, CD and streaming services through the Oslo label Dugnad Rec.

Reuniting with the dense tribal like self yet with a complete transformative understanding of life and self in relation to life as a whole. Ones outer world of reflective explanation can be this - starting from earth, leaving the tribal terrains of earth based reality, exploring out into the cosmic wilderness, looking back from a distance, witnessing Earths magnificence and enigmatic beauty. Continuing to swim out to the depths of the galaxy to ‘Arrive” at an unexpected splendour unknown to the human consciousness ,to a cosmic giant….. giant what? This remains to be unseen! It’s left to the imaginators discretion of wonder within the experience of the audio sonic delights presented in,….. ‘Arrival’.

More than ever before on Koze's records, there are fascinating, individualist - and well-known - voices through out Knock Knock but again, each of them is rendered strange, drawn into a different reality Bon Iver's ghostly hymnals samples on Bonfire' are very recognisably Bon Iver, but the way they twist and merge with synthetic sounds until choir and computer are writhing around one another in bliss are something else. The ever-unique Róisín Murphy, on two stunning tracks, becomes a cyborg funk diva. Speech from Arrested Development delivers luscious and lazy R&B-funk on Colors of Autumn', but Koze's warping bass, dubwise echo and alien nature sounds take it to an alternate dimension tropical landscape. Kurt Wagner of Lambchop is a vocoder bohemian, Sophia Kennedy is a sci-fi Weimar cabaret star, José Gonzalez a holographic projection from an old film of South Sea Islands... on it goes, nothing is real, everyone is an inhabitant of Koze-world.

* Aperture is a sister-brother duo combining the multiple disciplines of poet/artist Elisabetta Porcinai and producer Emanuele Porcinai. Together they produce elegantly brooding songs and intoxicating spoken word, written via free associative methods. Their debut album Threads is the culmination of some full decade gradually conjoining Emanuele's musical practice with Elisabetta's spoken word and poetry (previously only deployed in conjunction with her work as a visual artist). It sees the duo drift onto fertile new sonic ground, somewhere between the emotional intensity of performance art and fringe electronic music at its most expressionistic.
* Threads is an exploration of aural intimacy, with domestic sound sources forming a vital element of the album's musical bedrock. Rhythms built from footfalls and table-tapping sit comfortably alongside lush synthesizers, wistful pianos, and ambient washes, all backing up Elisabetta's penetrating spoken words. The musical and verbal halves of Aperture play with free association and improvisation alike, crafting a uniquely slow burning, yet visceral sound in the process. Moments of almost naive beauty, such as the lullabye-esque
* 'Atmen' (German for 'to breathe'), are buoyed by the menace and drama of solemner tracks, such as the album's stirring opener, 'In These Awkward Voids'. 'In these awkward voids / is where we find each other / we wander blind / waiting for the clouds to go by / waiting for the sun to melt down' - Elisabetta's spoken word, taken from opening track 'In These Awkward Voids'. A true collaboration, some of Threads was entirely shaped around Elisabetta's poetry and texts. Other pieces are almost entirely instrumental and acoustic nature, stemming from Emanuele's initial sonic outputs. Despite the superficial differences between their practices though, Aperture brings the siblings' commonalities into focus.
* At its core the project explores spatial and environmental perception. The duo process myriad organic sounds and everyday objects into unrecognisably synthetic new realms, while electronic source material has often been humanised often out of recognition. The collision of the organic and artificial behind Elisabetta's rapt otherworldly poetry acts a gateway, blurring the boundaries between physical and virtual into a unique nebula of emotion.
* Both born in Florence, Emanuele (born 1991) now splits his time between Manchester and Berlin, while Elisabetta similarly lives between both Milan and Berlin. Also known for his solo project WSR, Emanuele has previously focused his musical experimentation on exploring possibilities arising from using self-built tactile string instruments as sound sources for his adventurous productions. As an artist, Elisabetta (1987) has an interdisciplinary background, exploring a broad spectrum of practices including photography, painting, video and installation art, and poetry.

Asqus (AKA Aragorn23) is a South African based musician working with algorithmic and gestural composition techniques. For his release on Bladud Flies! - Euclidean Haecceities, the 7th entry into the Abhorrent Jukebox 7" series, two piano pieces are processed using the Bjorklund / Euclidean sorting algorithm. With each execution of the code there are subtle changes to the rhythm, scale and pitch, creating endless possible variations.

Am.11 and Cm.13 follow similar patterns, where dramatically frantic peaks emerge and fall back into a delicate and pensive state. Music for the unsettled.

Each 7" lathe cut is a different variation of Am.11 and Cm.13. No two copies are the same. We believe that this is the first time a generative music piece has been committed to vinyl. Edition of 60 hand-numbered copies.

The 7" has an engraved centre label on side A and comes housed in a beautiful screen-printed sleeve, with each sleeve having a slightly different colour gradient.

* Blessed Initiative is a project by Yair Elazar Glotman, which suggests a dissonant, coexistent state of extreme highs and lows. The album attempts to articulate a mental state of simultaneity, in which equilibrium is fleeting, fragile, and its scarcity is embraced. Opposite states coincide, contrast and reflect, creating moments of uncertainty and insecurity. Absurdity and at times even bliss are possible results, in the attempt to channel anxiety into creative forces rather than debilitating ones. In an environment where personas are the sums of the images they project, sounds are also no longer evidence of invention but of ever-changing combination, curation, and editing. The final persona is a sum of the chosen and the deleted, as well as what may be projected from outside, creating a confusing and conflicted self. The sounds collected here are attempts to compose on these uncertain grounds, and to reflect the anxiety released in all these sources' meeting and interaction. As a singular project, Blessed Initiative stops to comment on the conditions that inform Glotman's composition before and after it, and to acknowledge it as a non-linear, ongoing process.

* The focus on process and uncertainty is apparent in the album's phrasing, re-articulation and cycles of repetition and deviation. The pieces were composed from sounds generated on the KYMA system, personal foley recordings as well as tape manipulations techniques. Minor sounds on major scales and micro-tonal tuning suggest an ambiguous harmonic sphere. These were then integrated within idiosyncratic rhythmic structures, at times integrating real spaces and resonating bodies as reverb and augmented echo chambers. Concrete, almost-recognizable organic sounds contrast with these abstract spaces and connect them to tactile experiences. These textures and structures are a palette that reforms and deforms as it cycles throughout the album.

* The photographic series "Relax (blue)", 2004, by the artist Josephine Pryde was chosen for the album's cover as a materialization of tension. The two images represent a closed cycle of energy and unfulfilled release.

* Yair Elazar Glotman is a classically trained musician and sound artist based in Berlin whose previous works on Subtext include the LP 'Études' and a collaboration with James Ginzburg titled Nimbes.

Following 16 albums and over twenty years of forward-thinking collaborations and experiments with some of electronic musics leading pioneers, Coppé (the "Godmother of Japanese Electronica") goes back to her roots for her 17th release entitled, 'Milk', paying homage to some of Jazz musics classics, greats and personal favourites.

As with anything Coppé applies herself to though, there is nothing standard about 'Milk'. Through brand new collaborations with the likes of Nikakoi, Atom™, Kettel, Modified Toy Orchestra's Brian Duffy, Christ. (ex Boards Of Canada), Terry D, Chris Mosdell and others, classics like 'I Fall In Love Too Easily', 'Candy' and 'My Funny Valentine' are taken into entirely new and unexpected realms.

However, through Coppé's clear, warm and sincere vocals, these interpretations never lose sight of honouring the originals, and form one of Coppé's most coherent and universal collections to date.

Coppé's own Mango + Sweetrice Records team up with UK label Bit-Phalanx Music to host 22rpm : An All-Day Electronic Music Festival on Saturday 7th October 2017, taking place at St. John on Bethnal Green church, Shoreditch, London.

'Acrobats' is the debut album from Laura Moody, a wildly alternative cellist, vocalist and avant-singer songwriter. Fascinated with words and songwriting as well as sounds, noises and textures, Laura draws on the infinite possiblities available from her solo cello and voice. From a multitude of influences, Laura creates emotive songs that inhabit a unique space between the avant garde, classical music, pop and singer-songwriter tradition.

A shimmering and tragic delirium - improvised piano of Richard Moult, recorded in single takes at St. Leonards Parish Church, St. Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. Aside from the vocal by David Tibet on Five and the oboe of Mark Baigent on Four, the remaining sounds have been tweaked and teased out of the piano by The Bricoleur. Paulius Kilbauskas is a highly-respected Lithuanian producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, a former member of “Empti”, a band called one of the most influential and forward thinking bands in Lithuania in the 90s.

In his most recent solo album Paulius has explored the world of Gamelan music by recording the ‘Elements’ together with local musicians in Bali. A product of deep creative explorations, ‘Elements' is the result of Paulius’s extraordinary talent in capturing and manipulating an ambient soundscape.

Be it Overtone, Dublicate, Bango Collective or any other Paulius Kilbauskas venture, it is approached with curiosity, natural feel and sincere fascination with Sound.

Paulius has made his name in the film industry by creating a number of noteworthy film soundtracks. Aubagne film festival 2019 nominated his collaborative work with Vygintas Kisevičius for the film ’Sasha Was Here' for the best film soundtrack award. Kilbauskas was awarded with the Lithuanian film award “Sidabrinė Gervė” award for best original score “The Gambler” (created together with Domas Strupinskas). Furthermore, movie “Redirected", which soundtrack was composed by P. Kilbauskas was acknowledged as the most popular movie in Lithuanian cinema history.

RSPTN (formerly Rasputin) is a London based producer and one half of both Racah and Milk & Beef. North/South is his first solo release for Bladud Flies! and the fifth volume of the Abhorrent Jukebox 7' series.

On Planet North, the resonance of temple gongs and dreamy tape-reversed ambience are interspersed with snippets of dialogue before settling into an almost industrial middle section. Blown-out, slowed-down drumkit and an off-kilter guitar loop disperse into what could be a symphony of tambouras propelled by a fantastically heavy hip-hop beat of the Madlib/Dilla variety, of which there are many throughout North/South.

The melancholic tremolo of a minor-key classical guitar phrase opens Planet South, accompanied by beats and the nocturnal noise of a thousand crickets chirping in the background. The track shifts gears abruptly: field recordings and a Puerto Rican jazz double bass line give way to hypnotic, Congolese inspired rhythms.

Soccer96 is made up of two thirds of The Comet Is Coming, currently whipping up a cosmic storm on their Mercury Prize nominated album Channel The Spirits.


Their bold approach to improvised composition, recording processes and experimentation is reminiscent of Flying Lotus, Can, Thundercat and Gaslamp Killer.

WAYS OF SEEING is a beautifully produced and melodically rich suite of electronic pieces from The Advisory Circle and was inspired by late 70s and early 80s melodic electronic library music.

The Advisory Circle is the work of Jon Brooks, melodic and often melancholic electronic music inspired in part by soundtracks and library music of the 70s and 80s. Brooks is a stalwart of the Ghost Box label and an extraordinarily prolific artist. He has released five albums and four collaborative singles as The Advisory Circle. He also records as The Pattern Forms with Ed Macfarlane and Edd Gibson of Friendly Fires.

He works with vocalist Tim Felton as Hintermass, and along with Ghost Box founder Jim Jupp he is half of The Belbury Circle. Under his own name and several pseudonyms, he has released albums on Clay Pipe Music and his own Café Kaput label. Before joining the Ghost Box family in the early 00s Brooks recorded for Lo Records as King of Woolworths.

As a producer and mastering engineer, Brooks is a contributing presence on most Ghost Box releases. He has years of experience as a commercial and library composer and his mastering and audio restoration skills are much in demand, particularly on re-issue labels such as Trunk Records.

The CD&LP packaging is designed by Julian House. Elegantly simple artwork and typography, reminiscent of 80s photographic manuals and magazines, is rendered on metallic gold foil packaging. The heavyweight vinyl LP includes a free download card.

THE INVISIBLE WORLD OF BEAUTIFY JUNKYARDS is Lisbon band Beautify Junkyards's third album and effortlessly blend their love of English Acid Folk and Brazilian Tropicalia. In a collection of songs that conjure up a warm and verdant faerie world, delicate acoustic guitars evoke an autumnal England suffused with Iberian heat by other- worldly voices, the ethereal lilt of Joa o Branco Kyron and the warm languor of Rita Vian (a voice redolent of Gal Costa or Os Mutantes' Rita Lee.)

The production is tempered with a haunted electronic palette that anchors the band squarely in the world of Ghost Box. But more than this, Beautify Junkyards' sheer song writing talent, production skill and performance virtuosity grant them a place amongst the great outside-of-time bands like Broadcast or The High Llamas.

In 2012, the band's eponymous first album set out their stall, with a collection of cover versions, mainly of classics of the British Acid-Folk period, but also taking in Tropicalia and German Kosmiche. The album was a hit in Portugal and picked up for airplay in the UK on BBC Radio 2 & 6 Music. Their version of Kraftwerk's Radioactivity was included on DJ Food's Krafwerk Kover Kollection.

Their second album in 2015, The Beast Shouted Love, carried their influences forward with original songs and cemented a style that is at once traditional, experimental and exotic. In 2016 the band debuted on Ghost Box with a single as part of the label's Other Voices Series.

Packaging: The lavish packaging on all formats is designed by Julian House with artwork that attempts to capture the band's love of the Czech New-Wave and the twilight worlds of WB Yeats. The heavyweight vinyl LP includes a free download card.

Australian label Pocketmoth are back with a new imprint,
‘POCKET’, a V/A series centred on local producers from the
label’s home city, Brisbane Meanjin. For the rst edition, label
heads Quincy Raw and Iti are joined by close friends and
collaborators George and Squidgenini. A diverse yet cohesive
curation of tracks, POCKET 1 is designed to live in the DJ’s
bag.

Since Sensefloor released their debut EP last year, Venter have been continuously showcasing their live talents in Poland and worldwide, with a large number of club and festival bookings already throughout the course of 2015 thus far. The duo recently made an appearance at the Audioriver Festival (headlined by Underworld and Roisin Murphy), where on a sandy shore of Vistula River they are to present a brand new live act. And this time they were armed with a new full-length record - Venter LP.

To complete the album, Venter have hooked up with electronic-pop newcomers We Draw A, pianist Stefan Wesolowski and the magnificent Baasch - a Warsaw-based producer who most recently made his debut on Nextpop/Warner with the album 'Corridors'.

For this new project, Venter bring together a combined knowledge of musical worlds to create a truly delicate electronic album, packed full with refined atmospherics and precious soundscapes. Their live performances rivet and mesmerise, as electronic synthesis intertwines with the acoustic recordings of live performances on the violin and piano.

Elements of ambient, techno, house, classical and drone can all be found on this LP. A sound that has been brought together through clever production techniques, digital sampling, analogue synthesis and live performance.

'XOROS' has it's genesis in techno and dance music, but while they remain important elements in the language of this record, the lexicon has evolved into something other.

Will Ward’s musical background - having released on prestigious European labels such as Leisure System and Newrhythmic - combined with the accomplished jazz, ambient and electronic musicianship of Jack Wyllie - a member of Portico Quartet and Szun Waves - results in a record that will not sit uncomfortably alongside other ambient explorations, but draws from a wide scope of sonic universes.

For Ward and Wyllie, when working together a focus on texture and space emerged as their common goal and provided a fertile ground for collaborative experimentation. The starting point was to explore the possibilities of using saxophone to create the textural landscape of a fully functioning techno record.

As it evolved the rhythmic pallet gradually vanished to reveal a largely beat-free landscape. Small fragments of sax, synth and field recordings were collected and layered together, sometimes hundreds of parts used to create the textural basis of a track.

These were then collaged into longer compositions; inspiring monolithic soundscapes that suggest futuristic worlds that sit outside of any specific time, place or genre. It is the dense layering of these fragments that gives each second of music its own individual sound and atmosphere. It demands a deeper listening, a particular attention to the intricacies of each moment.

‘Opening’ begins with a recording of the ambient noise in their north London studio and expands outwards into a slow circular motif that feels like a lost jazz loop, followed by ‘The Gift’, a track that breaths as if it is alive, an organism tentatively exploring a new world.

‘Cascading’ is aptly titled as its watery rhythmic patterns formed out of field recordings emerge into slowly ascending synth and layered saxophone drones while ‘The Machine’ combines that with a propulsive mechanical rhythm. ‘Paradise Cinema’ continues in a more widescreen format, opening out into deep synth melancholia and ‘Master Blaster’ takes it's name from the subtly embedded recording of an eponymously named New York street artist’s performance.

Finally closer ‘Futures’ concludes by settling into a slowly evolving world where time is no longer linear and there is the sense that it could keep going forever.

* Under his guises Blessed Initiative and Ketev, as well as his own name, composer and sound artist Yair Elazar Glotman has explored extended techniques and processes to forge new sonic textures and musical forms. Compound picks up where the previous solo work under Glotman's own name - 2015's Études - left off. The acoustic sound palette has now expanded from solo contrabass into a trio including pianist Rieko Okuda and percussionist Marcello Silvio Busato.

* Glotman guides the trio into utilising sounds from the edges of their instruments' abilities - arguably mere byproducts of harmony - and through improvisation, repetition, and post-production, conjures new sonic bodies over two sidelong pieces. His guidelines for each improvisation gave the players autonomy to emphasise the microscopic details of certain sounds: the shudder of a piano key, the hum of a cymbal, the incidental click of a plucked contrabass string. The recordings were then layered and reformulated by Glotman into two separate structures to complete the composition process. Both 'Veil' and 'Revelate' utilize the full spectral potential of each instrument, revealing new rhythmic patterns and harmonic content in the process.

* Taking Glotman's microscopic focus on instrument noises he put began on Études as a starting point, the trio on Compound ultimately bring into question both density and contrast, rhythm itself losing its stricter structures and becoming a purely pattern-based driving force in the music. The resultant unit contradicts and opposes itself, all sorts of clashing rhythms and melodies coexisting within the body of the two compositions of evolving sonic architecture.

* Based in Berlin, Yair Elazar Glotman is a classically-trained musician and sound artist. Besides previous works on Subtext including Études, a collaborative score with James Ginzburg experimental film Nimbes, and the eponymous debut of his Blessed Initiative project, Glotman has released music via Opal Tapes and others under the nom de plume Ketev.

The release includes the remastered original extended version and the
exclusive 20 Anos remix. “Belo Horizonti” was originally released in 1996 on Atlantic Jaxx Records and subsequently licensed to VC Records (Virgin). The Original version, a mix of over 12 minutes, found Claudio struggling at the time to find a record label to sign it for release without cutting the original mix short. It was only thanks to Basement Jaxx and their independent label that it was released with the original 12 minutes intact and further remixes by the likes of Basement Jaxx and DJ David Morales. “Belo Horizonti” has often featured as the choice of soundtrack for celebratory football goals and is often played by the most respected and renowned djs in the world today during their live dj sets at peak time. Over the past 20 years Belo Horizonti has also appeared in numerous compilations around the world. An unforgettable success for all fans!

The project "Records Without Conception" shows toğrul's process of finding his sound. The album is not based on a concept, a statement or an overriding mood. The tracks are rather to be understood as portraits from protracted explorations of basic patterns in electronic genres and modular sound synthesis. The results are a not self- contained body of work, but rather discussions of various demands on sound and music that were experienced by the artist himself between the years 2018 and 2021. With his debut album, the German and Azerbaijan based producer wants to capture the process of this artistic searching and finding.
Surreal constructions of contrasting sounds evolve between the grids of genres. An experimental style and contemporary references across Contemporary RnB, Electro, Glitch and IDM form a sound logic of its own, which is additionally grounded by the singers Alice Dlugosch & Mariama Ceesay in two independent tracks.

The Balek Band and Abstrack Records’s first album, Médecines, is the product of a magma of influences, the emanation of large decade of music infused lives.
