Wolf Music present 'Sleep', the debut album from the mighty Medlar.

Rothmans are back with their 3rd release of 2014 and back in the squad is Brooklyn beat master Aimes. You might remember his substitiute appereance on Rothmans 2 alongside Fairplay & Strunz. The release plays homage to informous French defender Marius Tresor who hard nosed defending earned him a place in Pele's top 100 players of all time. He also made waves off the field with a brief singing carear but we will leave you to research that yourself!!. Back to the release and we find Aimes following on from where Ste Spandex left off with an up tempo trancy, acid belter 'Tunnel Down' . Tracks 2 lowers the tempo a little and feels a little more classic Rothmans with that Nu-Disco/Italo feel too it , a sound that served them so well through Roth 3 - 5. The remix comes in on the B side from the legendary Brassica , and he doesent pull any punches at all, the remix takes all the aspects of the origianl and weaves them into an 8min piece of original music that just keeps on giving! Francis Inferno Orchestra is a name you may already be familiar with. The relatively young stargazer has been straddling the cosmic yet-invisible line of disco meets house with a string of tight knitted, warm productions across Kolour Recordings, Join the Dots, Under The Shade, Wolf Music, and Voyeurhythm to name a few.

2012 sees Detroit label, KMS Records, celebrating it's 25th Anniversary.

Founded in 1987, by Kevin Maurice Saunderson, his first release was 'Triangle Of Love' produced by, 'Kreem', (just one of his many guises), little did Saunderson know, at that time, that two and a half decades later, he would still be releasing music on his KMS label.

Let's go back to the beginning... Born in Brooklyn in 1964, Saunderson moved to the picturesque Detroit suburb of Belleville, when he was nine, a different world to the urban decay of the city itself.

Saunderson has an enviable dual reputation. To the dance cognoscenti he's one of the 'Belleville Three,' (with Saunderson being the 'Elevator', Juan Aktkins being the 'Originator' and Derrick May being the 'Innovator'), the trio of friends invented Detroit Techno.

The trio met at Belleville High School where, Saunderson befriended Juan Atkins and Derrick May, who introduced him to the eclectic post-disco playlists of Detroit radio DJ Charles 'The Electrifying Mojo' Johnson. ' Johnson played disco, funk, Prince, Parliament/Funkadelic, Kraftwerk, the B52's and Tangerine Dream, to name just a few. Saunderson already had a serious love for music, but he didn't realise he was going to produce music, until then.

In his first year at East Michigan University, where he studied telecommunications, he gave up football to become a DJ himself. He took inspiration from visits to Larry Levan's Paradise Garage in New York and Frankie Knuckles' Warehouse and Music Box in Chicago. Saunderson, Atkins and May, played at campus parties, until setting up their own club in Detroit, the fabled Music Institute.

Of the 'Belleville Three' Atkins was the first to make a record, with electro group Cybotron's 'Alleys of Your Mind' in 1981, then May, with Rhythim is Rhythim's 'Nude Photo' in 1987. Inspired by his friends, Saunderson bought some basic equipment and made his own debut in 1987 with 'Triangle Of Love'. 'I just had a good ear and a good heart for music,' he says. 'Juan Atkins led me into DJing which led me into making extra beats to play in my set. Then I started learning how to play basslines, putting a lot of work in, just elevating it from there'

Undeniably, Saunderson is a gifted producer (going under guises such as Reese, E-Dancer, Tronikhouse and Reese Project), remixer and a tireless international DJ. To lovers of great pop music he's also one third of Inner City, who made regular visits to the Top 20 in the late 80s with jubilant hits like 'Big Fun' and 'Good Life', paving the way for hundreds of underground-to-chart crossover records to come.

On a visit to England in 1988 Saunderson realised that a mythology had built up around the 'Belleville Three'. To his even greater surprise, 'Big Fun' became not just a massive club record but a pop hit. He also helped to revolutionise remixing when he worked on 'We Know It' by Wee Papa Girl Rappers. Over the following decade Saunderson would continue to produce imaginative remixes for the likes of New Order, Pet Shop Boys, The Shamen, Paula Abdul and the Lighthouse Family.

Even whilst travelling the globe, djing or touring with Inner City, Saunderson continued to produce and release not only his own tracks on his KMS label (with tracks such as 'The Sound' by Reese, 'Rock To The Beat' by Reese, 'Truth Of Self Evident' by Reese & Santonio, 'Let's, Let's, Let's, Let's Dance' by Keynotes and 'Colour Of Love' by The Reese Project), but he also released tracks by other up and coming artists, releasing classic underground gems, such as 'Flash' by Fix, 'Can You Feel It' by Chez Damier, 'Soundscape' by Kosmic Messenger, 'Definition Of Love' by Kaos and 'Use Me' by R-Tyme. The list is endless.

Fast forward to 2012 and it's hard to believe that KMS is still releasing records. With such a long history, what better way to celebrate than to release a special CD Boxset. The 'KMS 25th Anniversary Classics' will be released on CD, Digital (and for those vinyl collectors, there will be 6 x 12' Samplers). Each format includes a plethora of gems which have been released on KMS over the last 25 years.

KMS may be celebrating it's 25th Anniversary, but there's no slowing down for Kevin Saunderson. He's still producing, remixing and djing (all over the world). Here's to the next 25 years....

Onur Engin's latest 12" brings four unique & lovingly crafted edits of another carefully picked dusted-off classics. No-digital, vinyl only.

Tight house tracks with spicy basslines reminiscent of old school Chicago groovers. The Healing Company brings S/O/M, a long lost project from southern Germanys legend Sascha Vucko. Three strong and timeless tracks out of a obscure and deep southern dungeon.

Last year Tornado Wallace touched down at the ESP Institute with his Thinking Allowed EP, a slab of wax that proved pivotal in his musical aesthetic, beautifully complimenting our catalogue. He ups the ante further with Circadia, his second 3-track EP that riffs on ESP themes whilst sophisticatedly amplifying their character. The title track lays trance-like arpeggiated vocals over thunderous tropical toms, opening up into an epic group chant. Time of Nectar coasts along, blanketing us with soft pads and soothing pan pipes before Jonny Nash's palm-muted Stratocaster makes its cameo. The essential house jam on the b-side, Soft Light, will no doubt pump its way through dance floors this Summer, don't sleep!

Staying true to their friends & family ethos, the next Colors EP - out on February - comes from a co-founder of the London party imprint, Guilhem Monin. The musical journey is composed by three tracks. 'Omen' is a slinky house cut which eases the listener in with some seductive saxophone/Rhodes combinations, before a warm bassline takes over. As the track rolls along, Monin teases the listener with jazzy piano riffs and some very addictive bongo loops. 'All The Way Back' is more minimalistic, propped up by the hypnotic organ loop which forms the track's rhythmic backbone. Female vocal cuts are expertly dropped in and out of the mix against a subtle backdrop of strings. Chicago veteran Boo Williams rounds off the EP with his interpretation of 'Omen'. He slides up the tempo a few, taking it into peak-time, bumpy house territory. The vocal samples of the original track take on a forceful urgency when placed over slamming kicks and cascading synth volleys.

No stranger to the house scene, Kiko Navarro is a DJ and producer whose productions, remixes and edits have appeared on an impressive list of labels for many years.

Being a good friend of ours and always making us impressed with his productions we thought it was about time Kiko got a 12" to himself on Local Talk.
We are thrilled to be sharing the first Kiko Navarro EP on Local Talk, 'New Life'.

First up is Dope High, a raw, funked up and full of percussion that gets your head nodding, feet tapping and body moving. You could play this track on any sound system in the world and within 90 seconds Kenny Dope would be there smiling and making moves.

On the flip there's two versions of Nea Kameni.
First up is the Chicago house champ Glenn Underground. Glenn's early musical atmosphere was soaked in Jazz, Soul, Funk and Disco and this remix proves all that.
His 'Dance Fusion' remix is incredibly tight, soulful and uplifting. Music you’d expect from a true genius.

Finishing the 12" is the original mix of Nea Kameni - in it's original form perhaps best described as an end of the night track with it's dramatic build up, warm bassline, percussions and beautiful synth lines.

Kiko has created something that's both atmospheric and haunting at the same time. If you've ever searched for a track to play when the sun goes down, here it is. .

Collecting Orders For A Repress!

The wind up of Phillip Lauer's album debut 'Phillips' (still available in all formats including gatefold double vinyl) is in the hands of NYC remix/production outfit Runaway and Versatile's very own I:Cube. Runaway do their best to turn 'Tentatious' into one of those early morning deep house dubs that you could find on the b-side on vintage designer labels of their hometown. Music for baby powdered wooden floors. I:Cube does the opposite and manufactures a bumper car boogie beat that also works as a UK rave dub. He likes to move it. On the flip, Lauer himself turns in the hidden album track 'Boringtone' - his very own secret ode to the Café del Mar - and the super exclusive smashing pumpkin that is 'Highdimes". 100% Overground melodies

On the back of 2 well received releases on Dirt Crew & Detroit Swindle's Heist Recordings, Dutch native Nachtbraker drops a beauty on Hudd Traxx. Zachtjes kicks things off in fine melodical style with live drums, lush keys and a smooth sax lick for good measure. Borrowed Identity mixes things up on the remix tip with a more upbeat dubby tool which is likley to find it's way into the hands of DJ's like Derrick Carter & Prosumer. The title track 'You Is What You Aint' is a moody groover with slick keys and sleezy beats perfect for warm ups or end of the night vibes. Nachtbraker rounds off the EP nicely with Overstappen last, but by no means least. Skippy beats and a killer bassline ensure that this EP is another 'must have' for the Hudd faithful as they near 50 releases and 10 Years in the business.

Foto continues with it's 2014 release schedule with 3 tracks from label boss OOFT! Dub 4 Daze gets the delay units set to looong to create a trippy house number, whilst on the flip Enter The Dragon is a more direct jam targeted at the floor with plenty of stabs and hihats. Rounding things off Father Father pitches things down for the erection section.

After the trippy translations of the Helium Robot space trip called 'Jarza", Theo Parrish's second and very welcomed visit to Running Back is all new material - almost. 'Black Mist' in its extended version is just that: an extended take of the already released version on the rare-as-hens'-teeth 'Sketches' pack. Cut on 45, it's a hard punch in the gut. Techno-not-techno-house-not-house Parrish power. Previously unreleased and no less persuasive are 'Pop Off' and 'Wild Out". While the first one centers around an endless piano and sucks you into the corny, but magic of repetition, the second one sounds like a Theo Parrish demo for Dance Mania after he came back from listening to Lil Louis at the Bismark Pavilion. Mosh pit music. - 'Limited pressing in full printed sleeves".

Welcome reissue of Rudoulpho's deep house masterpiece 'Sunday Afternoon'. Produced by Renato Pearson and originally released back in '92, this sublime deep organ-driven gem became an anthem at New York clubs like Zanzibar, Body & Soul and The Loft and still sounds incredible today. Popular with everyone from DJ Harvey to Tony Humphries, this is a true classic and a must have. 'Touch Me' on the flip is another great late-night deep vocal track with a very early Jovonn sound which also received heavy rotation on the underground scene. Essential.

Hercules & Love Affair's main man Andy Butler delivers another killer single for his relaunched mr.intl label. The A Side 'Soldier' is a co-production between Andy Butler & Ha-ze Factory (Constantin Zeileissen & Philipp Haffner) and features Mad Panther (aka Cleo Panther) on vocals. A infectious, bumping mid-90's New York inspired House groove underpins Cleo's powerful torch-like vocal. A sure fire killer of a track! On the flip, Ha-ze Factory team up with the legendary Tin Man (Johannes Auvinen) and get deep and ominous, delivering another timeless classic underground tough-jam complete with modern twist. It's a great double-header of a release.

The Black Key team return with the second in their limited, vinyl-only series, with Cologne based producer, Pawas, delivering a truly excellent and diverse 4 track EP, which oozes quality from start to finish. "Dubba" commences the EP in an understated but crisp fashion which uses delayed rim shots, subtle synth stabs and perfectly executed sub bass to build a flittering, shuffling groove, which has unmistakable dance floor appeal. "DA" builds from nothing into a pulsating and hypnotic houser, moulding loose hi hats, layered claps and an acid-infused bass line to supreme effect. Add in expertly-placed rising synths, plus a haunting vocal sample, subtly used, and you have a serious track on your hands. The production versatility of Pawas is demonstrated on the flip with "2047" - such a contrast from the opening 2 tracks, but delightfully so. This is guaranteed to make heads nod and feet tap, mixing together jazzy keys, fluid tom rolls and perfectly panned percussion. Then the vocal drops. Last, but certainly not least, we have "Mello" which sees Pawas partner up with Matthias Keul to great effect. A more down-tempo and musical affair, rounding off the EP is true style.

After a successful debut release with Untitled Gear, Croatian label continues their journey through fields and forests. Still exploring the Russian Federation, only this time they hired Udacha's honcho and main protagonist A5. Record kicks off with 'Fantasy'. A dreamy kalimba piece which eventually evolves into a deep house track and could be described as a soundtrack from your latest dream while 'Raw Abstractionism' doesn't disappoint it's name. On the flip side we are introduced to the afro banger 'Torri Wowo' which feels almost like driving through safari on a truck. 'Acoustic Cut' calms things down and brings us to an end with a clear message.

The Parisian label Flyance Records newly set up by Janeret, Ka One & St-Sene comes back with their second releases "Cycles Vol.2".
As the first one, Cycles vol.2 is a various with 4 tracks focus on the deeper side of house and techno.
A1: "Ka One & St-Sene - Sprag Line Posse" brings you thru the deep vibes with strong and electric beats leads by bigs waves.
A2: "Janeret - Evo" Deep lushness, strong beat & acid vibes, that's the way.

Over a handful of singles and an album on Bristol labels like Immerse, Idle Hands and BRSTL, it's now time for Jacob Martin and Matt Lambert aka Outboxx to make their debut on Local Talk.

Sticking close to what they do best, this EP is filled with house music infused with electronic soul.

The master of creations Jodey Kendrick comes back on WeMe Records with a double album. He explores the ocean bank of a trip-hop drums which has merged with an hardwave Grime. The descent is sublime. Flawless once again for J.K. Limited 300. No sales to the UK

Patrice Scott and Chris Mitchell are back at it under their Modular One moniker. Segue One sees the duo pushing forward on their thematic journey into deep, interstellar techno. Adding to the fire, UK deep techno maestro, Aubrey blesses the EP with a remix crafted in his signature textural style.

After featuring on the One Records VA released earlier this year with 'Besides', young Frenchmen Yamen & EDA are back on board the label with 'Planet Brooklyn'. The release features two seductively deep solid club tracks with one special remix coming from dream team Shaun Reeves, Jay Haze and Bill Patrick and another from label head Subb-an.
Always on the hunt to recruit and push new talent, Subb-an and Adam Shelton have been quick to snap up Yamen & EDA to be part of the One Records crew, who will also be making their debut at Adam and Subb-an's famous Below party in Birmingham later this year. While only in the first stages of their career there is no doubt this talented duo are on their way to stardom with previous releases on Safari Numerique, Earlydub and their own Unpleased Records with more on the way.
Shaun Reeves is no stranger to the label after his remix of Subb-an's 'Soul Skool' appeared on one of the first releases. Combining forces for the first time, Shaun Reeves, Jay Haze and Bill Patrick remix 'Planet Brooklyn'. Three of the biggest names in the business, One Records are proud to have them on board for this rare collaboration.
Subb-an has really shot into the limelight in the last few years with huge releases on labels such as Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels and Spectral Sound. Jepe was one half of John Waynes who already release on Brique Rouge and is now one of the most respected producer from Portugal, Actually living in Berlin, he has released on Get Physical, Blossom Kollektiv or MuleMuziq, Jepe's tracks have a very high level of quality, True House Music,

And last but not least, our good friend from Switzerland, mr Salvatore Freda, With the machine-driven futurism of Detroit in his step, and the bounce of Chicago in his shadow, Salvatore Freda is a pure vinyl DJ from Lausanne, Switzerland. With a production career that began in 1997, Freda has built up an impressive discography over the years. His music has touched some of techno and house's most respected labels including Trapez, Music Man Records, Liebe Detail, Freerange, Area Remote, Push Communications, Dessous, Nightvision, and Cadenza.
