With what might turn out to be one of the biggest tracks of the year, the massive 'What I Might Do' by Ben Pearce is here. Solomun, Seth Troxler, David August and Jamie Jones are all already on board with championing this slick combination of raspy soulful vocals and irresistible grooving deep house Up first is the original club mix which builds graduall y with stripped back percussion, vocal murmurs and airy synths drifting in and out the mix. After a baseline is teased in a couple of times adding to the climax, the super soulful vocal is let rip to dramatic effect, a guaranteed weapon in any DJ´s bag in the coming months.
Harry Wolfman injects a bit of the old school into the original with a more jackin´, housed up version characterised by lazy sub bass, shuffly highs and a postmodern organ line which has become so synonymous within the new house sound prevalent in the UK scene at present.
One Records boss Adam Shelton takes things a bit deeper with his interpretation. A dark kick, clave and snare pattern drive the rhythm section throughout whilst deep pads and piano chords juxtapose to create a really emotive piece, subsequently giving the vocal a new meaning.
Last but certainly not least, one half of PBR Streetgang, Bonar Bradberryrounds things off with a cut aimed straight for the dancefloor with its driving low end and distorted tom-line. Creative use of the vocal and an ever evolving acid line work wonderfully together and give the track real drive and purpose.

Serving as a little taster of the full double-CD 'Retrospective' album, this sampler features 3 exquisite Mr. G tracks cherry-picked by the man himself. Originally released on Berlin's Careless Recordings, 'Song For My Cantor' is a beautifully mellow house track - conceived as a tribute to a deceased friend, it perfectly encapsulates the soulful, introspective side to Mr. G's music. Taking influence from a similarly ethereal source, 'Lights (G's Out Dub)' was produced during the solar eclipse of August 1999. Perhaps the alignment of the sun and moon looked like a gigantic disco ball in the sky to Mr. G, as this is one seriously funky groove that would fit right into a peak time DJ Sneak set - this one was snapped up by Defected Records in no time. 3rd track 'Moments' keeps on with the upbeat vibe, channelling the latin spirit - its relentless feel good carnival loop filtering up and down to devastating effect. From Mr. G to Mr. C, this little beauty saw a release on the record label associated with highly esteemed and much missed London club The End.

repress!! Following up the well received Relapse EP on Machining Dreams, DJ producer Steven Tang presents Mmmmmusic'under his Obsolete Music Technology moniker. The 4-track, 12 vinyl single focuses in on melody; which has become the signature sound and of his label, Emphasis. Upon first listen of the main title track, you will hear a driving TR-808 drum intro. Then lush, emotive pads and strings comes in over the top to give the listener that emotional hook. But setting off the track is the funky synth bass voice sounding off, Mmmmmusic! Backing the title track is the stripped down 'Reprise Version' and Chicago Skyway's Pay Toll Mix, where the synth bass voice is extracted and cut up into Skyway's frenectic drum programming style reminiscent of Steve Poindexter's Work That Motherfucker. Also includes the track, Distance. Check!!

Australia's most exciting new export Contemporary Scarecrow makes a triumphant return this June with a four tracker from Mr. G, following the labels critically acclaimed debut from Boo Williams.
The Contemporary Scarecrow brand takes on two forms, record label, and clothing company, delivering uncompromising quality in both fields. The imprints inaugural EP from Chicago house veteran Boo Williams picked up support from the likes of Lawrence, Jovonn, Hunee, Phil Weeks and Sascha Dive, a striking indication of the sheer quality embodied from the get go. Here the second release welcomes Rekids and Hypercolour artist Mr. G aka Colin McBean, a man whose prominence in the house and techno industry over the years has never faltered and who consistently delivers refreshing, analogue workouts, regardless of the format.
The release kicks off with 'Potent', which sees Colin employ his signature gritty, shuffled analogue drums, raw chord stabs and a bulbous tom-driven bass line as the driving force. Subtle variations in the stabs and vocal snippets further fuel the infectious groove, resulting in a dark peak-time number. Next up is 'Dancefloor', and as the name would suggest, it's a direct, hooky rhythm aimed at the discerning house head, with saw wave bass, soul-laden vocals and penetrating chord sequences.
On the flip side, Mr. G drops 'Tune In', tipping its focus towards a more refined, deeper sound, with sparse drums, heavily reverberated vocal murmurs and subby low-end tones, the focal point introduces a warm, cossetting organ hook, bringing some additional musicality to the cut. Last up to close the release is 'Seapuss', which winds down the EP in a dark and moody fashion, the dropped-tempo number focuses on punchy lowslung drums, elongated bass-lines and swirling white noise to create a profound atmospheric record with a hypnotic, psychedelic feel.

Greece born Thanasis Voulgaris is the person hidden behind the moniker Kindimmer and the 17th release on Local Talk.
Having released on Resopal Schallware and Diaphan Music earlier his sound can be described as a the perfect blend of deep techno and raw house. Those expecting another vocal house style track will be surprised! This is where we take Local Talk into a more raw and darker territory. The title track "Shadow and Construction" is a straightforward heavy hitter with it's whipcracking beat and slammin' hi hats, it's pure simplicity makes it simply irresistible.
On the flip, Deep, Stripped Down n' Dirty' continues on the same vibe driven by a gritty acid line that's tweaked for several minutes, executed perfectly.Finishing the 12" is Rthoms, a track with simple yet clever variations that never loses any of its dancefloor appeal.

What happens if you ask two up and coming and highly talented UK producers to create a track for Local Talk, then get a hyped house duo from Manchester to remix it
You get the Bitter Love EP from The True Rebels together with a fierce remix from Deep Space Orchestra.
Its two very different takes in both tempo and energy.
The original version is a battle of piano stabs with a bouncy yet filthy bassline that results in midtempo house burner with a slight techy feel.
The Deep Space Orchestra remix takes us straight to Detroit, fusing classic Techno sounds together with modern house.
Basically its simple yet impeccably executed house music, perfect Local Talk material!

A two tracker featuring remixes from PN17.
Fred P approaches the anthemic Techno cut 'Redbrook' by Truss with hypnotic effect like only the Soul People Music label boss can.
A combination of bleeps twists and swoons that still retains the bite and punch of the original.
XDB on the other hand takes Massimo Di Lena's off-kilter masterpiece to a new level with stripped back pulsating synths that beg for main floor play.
He retains the funk of the original yet keeps you in a relentless loop wanting more.
2 mixes so unique in their own right that you forget you're listening to a remix 12.

Making his debut on the label, DeMarzo is next up to release on the unstoppable Hot Creations with his groove and funk fueled 'Draw A Line' three original tracks that are straight up solid dance-floor weapons, highly infectious and perfect for the summer sun.
All three tracks have been heavily featuring in Jamie jones, Richy Ahmed and Lee Foss's sets. 'Draw A Line' features on Richy's forthcoming Rinse Album. All three slick solid deep-house cuts that evoke a traditional house feel whilst being forward thinking.
DeMarzo has had recent releases on Noir, This IS Recordings, Warung Records, Glasgow Underground, Resonance Records, Nurvous, Acid Fruits, Loulou Records & Nasty Funk.
Inheriting his passion for music through his father, DeMarzo enrolled into the Yamaha Keyboard School at the age of 8 where he got his first taste of creativity.
Years of writing and performing live became natural and nights spent watching Jazz improv's became highly influential. Whilst studying music technology at college he began producing his own material. As a multi-instrumentalist, his obligation to inject 'groove' into both his productions and sets began to arouse more and more interest. DeMarzo's sound is a meticulously crafted one. His toxic perfectionism and shrewd sense of rhythm lead him naturally to where he is today. His well-revised sets include anything from underground deep house to main room deep tech.

Continuing to prove it's a label with two fingers very much on the pulse, the fast-divers- ifying Retrofit imprint offers up a thoroughly varied EP from French producer DJ Steef aka Frederic Berthet. The Marseille based producer crafts everything from deep, sample-laden disco to warm grooving house for labels like Gomma and Toy Tonics while picking up ample support from DJ's like James Murphy, Andrew Weatherall, and Tim Sweeney.
Steef's Retrofit debut kicks off with 'Ghost Producer.' Infectious motown-esque vocals, energetic piano and a stripped but jacking groove make it ripe for summer dancefloors. 'Como Un Dios Del Olimpo' takes things down a much deeper road - a hypnotic Spanish chant is the guide while a disco bassline chugs under soaring pads and arpeggios.
Australian producer Mic Newman (aka Fantastic Man) of FINA, Freerange, and Murmur takes the original vox and pads, and weaves them into a shuffling, melodic number that manages to sound lazy and low slung while maintaining a direct-to-the-dancefloor feel. On 'Soul of Calypso,' Steef rounds out the package with a percussive workout that still retains an understated musicality about it.

Rising star John Dimas is up next on One Records with two killer club cuts backed up by remixes from Argentine house master Guti and label boss Adam Shelton. 'Rhythm Trap' is a peak time hypnotic affair with a propulsive groove building into a teasing acid line. Second original track 'Let It Go' feat. Jose is another analogue banger with serious bounce and techno swagger. The vinyl includes four exclusive locked grooves.
Greek/Berlin based producer John Dimas is fast becoming a name to watch after the stunning and diverse 'Living Lies EP' on La Vie En Rose and a recent release on Dame Music. This offering on One Records is set to cement 2013 as a breakthrough year for the artist.
John gained a reputation in his native Thessaloniki, Greece for his three turntables DJ sets and an ear for digging out the hottest, rare tracks. Soon John was on the international club circuit and a first foray into the studio came with duo Actor One in 2008. Now John is concentrating on solo production and developing his more experimental live sets.
Guti is the musician with the Jazz and Latin roots who turned to techno and has since bestowed his intense musicality to a solid cannon of productions on home label Desolat (including debut album 'Patio De Juegos') Crosstown Rebels and Wolf + Lamb.
One Records' boss Adam Shelton has been delivering some worldclass Remixes of late including the massive 'What I Might Do' by Ben Pearce and Subban's 'Rain' on Visionquest. Watch out for his next EP on One Records 25th release featuring Italian producer/vocalist Francesca Lombardo.

One of the UK's most established and consistent deep house producers, Jimpster, is due to drop his eagerly anticipated Porchlight And Rocking Chairs LP on 20th May 2013. His first studio album in six years sees him continue where he left off on the 2006 masterpiece Amour by taking the blueprint of House music and infusing it with an attention to detail and musicality often lacking in much of today's more disposable dance music.
As Jimpster himself admits, much of the inspiration for Porchlight And Rocking Chairs came from the countless hours spent exhausted or hungover in airport lounges on the way back from gigs. It's during this early morning never never land that he would seek solace in his ipod or start creating tracks on his laptop. Anything too challenging or abstract would be an irritation. Anything too ambient could sedate to the point of missing flights. So normally it would be the kind of lo-slung, emotive, deep shit with enough groove to get into but also just the right amount of warmth and soul to keep spirits lifted in those tiring, and often solitary hours.
On returning to his studio we see Jimpster lean heavily on his hardware synths and drum machines, rediscovering their quirks and foibles after too many years working with convenient but sometimes sterile plugins. This hands on approach runs right through tracks such as Brought To Bare, featuring the vocals of Jonatan Bäckelie, where a simple, sparse and honest quality help make this one of the LP's highlights. Hold My Hand or Rollergirl show off Jimpster's innate talent for dubbed out, late-night deep house whilst elsewhere we find more raw and bass heavy downtempo tracks such as Cracks In the Pavement and The Glowing Embers. A true journey from start to finish, the LP draws to a close with an alternate LP version of Jimpster's recent single These Times featuring Beauty Room vocalist Jinadu. Here we see the producer incorporating acoustic guitar for the first time ever on a glitchy yet beautiful reworking of this future classic, making a fitting close to a fresh and forward-looking album from a long-standing yet still completely relevant artist.

New Yorker Steve Moore crushes summer with this one, hot on the heels of his recent LIES record. These are songs for the next day people, music for those still dedicated to after daylight hits. "Zen Spiders" heads for the Outback with cresting waves and eureka moments set against a blinking synth sculpture. On the flip, "Lwaxana" turns slow motion into no motion at all as the track hovers and forms into a cloud, at sleaze tempo. In a way, this 12" finds Steve expanding in the mode of his "Volatile Memory" track off our recent Vibe 2 compilation. Feel the sun on your face all day. TIP!

After years of honing his craft as one half of UK
House duo Homepark, newcomer Fold continues
his prolific run of solo work following on from his
debut outing on George FitzGerald's
ManMakeMusic imprint earlier this year with the
'Slime EP'.
He now makes his first appearance on electric
minds with the 'Upstairs For Thinking, Downstairs
For Dancing EP' - armed with an arsenal of four
tracks that are tailored to suit all moods of the
dancefloor and that have already been given the
thumbs up from the likes of Joy Orbison and
Midland.
Lead track 'Crumbs' is a trailblazing cut of jacking
techno with a stuttering acid bassline that
effortlessly intertwines with the thumping 4/4 kick
drum - no surprise then that it has been a firm
crowd favourite at electric minds parties in London
and abroad over the last few months.
Proving that he is able to slow things down a notch,
'Bun Dem' is a more restrained effort that's
littered with a vocal sample that loops over the
crunching drums and delayed chords for
altogether more cerebral affair.
On the B-side 'Dread' picks up where 'Crumbs' left
off....

After a string of successful releases on labels such as Diapham and Local Talk, Greek producer KINDIMMER joins forces with INSTINKT to deliver a deep and tasteful slice of heavy dance floor funk.
Already respected for his trademark tech-infused sounds, KINDIMMER goes one further on this ep with swinging percussion and infectious bass hooks.
The opening track PERSONALITY VESSEL combines dirty loose percussion in tandem with one of the fattest bass lines 2013 is likely to witness. Add to this KINDIMMER's trademark eerie pads and you have the makings of a dance floor weapon.
The second track SUREAL UNREAL takes things deeper and slower with more emphasis on layered percussion and open spaces. Giving the track plenty of breathing room while maintaining that trademark KINDIMMER swing.

'Frank & Tony presents 004' is Francis Harris and Anthony Collins' fourth release as part of their collaborative series for their label, Scissor & Thread. Taking deep, organic house to newfound (and sophisticated) indie territories, the special run of EPs is quickly garnering a reputation for quality and 004 is set to follow. 'Holding On' presents a languid love lament. A deep and nostalgic melody meets thick-set yet kinetic drums, before a warm and somewhat detached vocal relays the story of love lost. A muted brass solo appears, as if in answer to the vocalist's melancholic words, all the while the atmosphere remains warm and balmy. The duo's 'Holding On Dub' lays testament to their intricately emotive production skills; no need for the vocalist's beautifully delivered lyrics here, the instrumental articulates the mood perfectly without.

The Holic Trax label started in 2012 by DJ and producer Tomoki Tamura now extends its legs into a new series that focuses on the many different shades of house music from producers new and old. Coming in two parts on limited run vinyl, each track was A&Red by the boss himself and the results are hugely entertaining. Part one offers four tracks, the first from Micha Klang & Kuroneko. The pair's If I Were You is a shuffling, jazzy chord laced house number with plenty of authentically aged sounding elements bristling next to each other. Rico Casazza then offers Rollin, a much more ducking and diving house track with trilling, incidental keys and a free flowing jazz energy. The flip sees JMF go deep and tough like might Bicep, with big sandy hits and surfing drums demanding you dance....
