Waze & Odyssey are an act who need no introduction, as they currently reside among one of the most talked electronic acts on the musical landscape. Their vinyl label W&O Street Tracks has been consistently topping the Juno sales charts with friends and acts like Ejeca & Citizen contributing to the release schedule, not to mention a busy release schedule with labels like Wolf Music, Throne of Blood and Mad Tech. The duo have pulled off remixes for Duke Dumont, Compuphonic and Citizen and we're pleased to announce that Dirt Crew Recordings will be releasing two original dance floor burners by the guys. But we wouldn't be Dirt Crew if we did not inject this release with a great remix as well. None other than our own Detroit Swindle boys are on duties here. They have been so succesfull in the past few months and we are more than proud of what they have achieved in such short time. They did a great deep interpretation of - Please Don't Dance' with their true underground Deep House feelings going on, road tested by our selves over the past few weeks, this remix will set any dance floor on fire!!!

Hot on the heels of his successful autumnal tour of Europe, the antipodean beatsmith and low-riding soul-brother, Inkswel, arrives on the eighth 12 from Burek Records. Considering Inkswel's been working with people like Merwyn from Virgo Four, Gifted & Blessed and Linkwood for the third release on his own Hot Shot Sounds imprint, we weren't surprised when he told us about the recent collaboration he'd had with Dave Aju. Naturally we were keen to get this out into the world, complementing it with great remixes and additional tracks from Inkswel. The A-side comprises three funkadelicious, shape-throwing, pop-locking slices featuring the talents of San Fran's Dave Aju, Melbourne's Cazeaux O.S.L.O, Christchurch's Isaac Aesili and Adelaide's Charli James. They wear their shared love for hiphop on their sleeves, replicating old school sampling techniques and twinning them with a feel for modernity. The open kicks and sax thrills that begin 'No More Suckas' cement syrupy pads and swirling keys as Dave Aju rhymes about that classic conundrum, being given the chance for a night of intimate relations. Rotascoping blips and pads combined with fat bass work underpin the conscious spoken word poetry of 'Mind Yours', and 'Saturated' closes the side with razor-sharp claps, wonky chords and 808 cowbells laying the foundation for vocal call and responses. In classic turntablist style the bonus beat track 'Oishi Stylus' is also included, evoking the Pacific Rim's interconnectivity with its Nipponese flavours cut over solid beats. This ain't hip-house, it's hiphop-house.

Riton's 'Lost My Mind' EP sees the former boy wonder of Techno release his first original material in over 12 months. Needless to say, a lot happened during this period, and arriving at this point was not easy. But like all good stories of loss and redemption, there will always be a moment where the protagonist must look back in order to go forward, a return to form in order to pave the way to the future. This EP, released January 2013 on Ed Banger records, signifies this moment both musically and creatively. Combining techno, house music, hip hop and electro 'Lost My Mind' EP kick-starts with the festival pumping Techno track 'Bang Your Head.' Then goes on to soften for a moment with the warm chicago house sound of 'Dance to Great Golf Ball In The Sky.' Both styles Riton has honed to-a-tee from touring and making music with Soulwax/2 Many DJs and also as one of half of Carte Blanche with DJ Mehdi. On the flip side we find Riton age 19. Having started his musical career as the back room DJ at the legendary UK club Shindig, Riton became known for DJ sets that chopped Hip Hop, Jazz, House and Latin music together. Taking this inspiration into a studio he started Switch Records which released his first material as Riton, and earned a recording contract with UK Hip Hop and Urban label Grand Central, whilst simultaneously running the counter at UK Hip Hop record store Fat City. Ritons debut album 'Beats Du Jour' was a lesson in music making that seamlessly blended house and urban music. Thirteen years later and the B-side of 'Lost My Mind' EP sees Riton returning to the place he knows so well; 'Lost my Mind' features vocals from Jay Norton, last seen on Symphony Halls 'One Night Stand', Ritons collaboration with Canblaster on Marble Records and UK Grime artist Scrufizzier makes an appearance, spitting a fire storm of a verse. Finally 'Girls In The Hood' sees Miss Kittin featured on this track inspired and remade from her own releases on DJ Heidi's, long time Riton coll

The 'New Saft EP' series are continued with an excellent VA featuring 3 of the freshest producers around. FACES label boss 'Pablo Valentino' is in control of the A side with his moody yet swinging 'La Caverne' . As usually, Pablo delivers some tight drum action with some nicely fitting vocal cuts and some droning chord sounds that in his case, never fail. For the B1 effort USA funk connoisseur 'Moon B' plays around with the before mentioned chord and of course put's in some otherworldly synths to take the original into those significant 'Moon B' spheres .
A little vibe change is coming from the hand of the ever so mysterious 'Jefferson Belmondo' on the B2. A disco tainted slice of club goodness is served by the man that pops up with an excellent track every now and then. A record that fits great in what is thus far a trilogy, we hope it's made the anticipation for the 4th installment even greater.

It's been a while since the last Kittball Konspiracy conquered our beloved world of electronic music. After avoiding the meteorites and surviving doomsday in 2k12 we're attacking again with a bunch of enlightening tracks that will put a smile on your fucking USB Sticks. Vol. 6, here we go. Part of the business this time on Part 1: Bakermat, , Wild Culture, Volkoder & Over Kill and on Part 2: PAJI, the one and only house legend George Morel and Matt Gill, Milan Euringer & Kean Sanders.

Hailing from Japan, Kazuki Yamaguchi aka Kez YM has already produced a distinguished discography since debuting on Rotterdam label 4 Lux five years ago with his Sweetly Confused EP. He has subsequently released tracks on Yore (the acclaimed City Soul and Butterfly EP's), Deep Explorer, Ragrange Records and Faces (run by City Fly's frequent collaborator Pablo Valentino) - with his soul-infused Detroit Beatdown-inspired productions receiving support from influential peers such as Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Rick Wade and Cassy.

His productions are a permanent fixture in many a discernible DJ's set including the City Fly crew who being such ardent supporters jetted him over for his first UK exclusive appearance for their renowned club night. His guest appearance proved to be a success with sweat dripping off the walls - showcasing his reputation as a revered selector with his seamless mixing, killer selections and boundless energy

This planted the seeds to grow an alliance that has come to fruition with Kez flying over for another exclusive DJ set for City Fly and providing a guest mix for the label's imminent website launch. It was only a matter of time before City Fly signed Kez up for a release and after a long time coming are now pleased to announce the launch of their latest vinyl release courtesy of Kez YM himself - the 'Late Night Blue Sound' EP.

LATE NIGHT REMEDY

Kicking off the EP is the salaciously titled 'Late Night Remedy'. Crowd noises interspersed with drum breaks and funky bass it definitely has a live feel - further emphasised with a female intermittently hollering from the crowd 'See what you think about this girl' juxtaposing with a typically de riguer soul vox exclaiming
'Come on girl'. Complete with a cheeky motown sample from The Undisputed Truth and the track wouldn't sound out of place on an old KDJ 12inch - a funk-fuelled nocturnal jam that needs to be rinsed on the dancefloor..

LATE NIGHT REMEDY (ANDRES REMIX)

Since his initial releases in the late-nineties on fellow kindred spirit Moodymann's KDJ imprint, producer du jour Andres has been an influential figure in the Detroit house scene. His unique blending of genres including soul, jazz, funk and disco with the house sounds synonymous with Detroit gained him a cult following in underground circles. It wasn't until his eponymously-titled LP's were released on Moodymann's Mahogani imprint that more heads took notice - with the launch of his 'La Vida' label last year cementing his position as a house heavyweight with 'Second Time Around' and 'New For U' a permanent fixture in many a discernible DJ's set. On to the remix and Andres keeps the dusty vox and typically drenches the track with his brand of motor city soul. Coming complete with warm bass and swooping strings, his interpretation as ever has a timeless aesthetic and creates an organic laissez-faire vibe that's perfect to soak up and kick back to - a pure summer joint..

LADDER OF SMOKE

With 'Ladder of Smoke' Kez takes the listener on a deeper trajectory. As the title suggests it's a deep misty midnight haze where eerie rhodes and stuttering drums are submerged under the deep, unsettling bass - with the recurrent vocal asserting 'It's a bad world come on' aptly adding to the atmospheric aura. Sounding like a Detroit beatdown relic reminiscent of an old Theo Parrish production, this is definitely one for the lights down low..

SNEAK INTO YOU

Rounding off the EP is the intriguingly titled 'Sneak Into You'. The track kicks off with trademark crowd samples complete with a punchy bassline and catchy horn though as the title implies it's not long before a schizophrenic mix of bubbling bass, bleeps, squelches and swirling synth washes sneak up on and infiltrates the unsuspecting listener. Showcasing Kez YM's production ingenuity and imagination, this is one to surprise the dancefloor with and take into a different direction..

One listen to the crystal clear rapture in the sound of Bodhi (Cardiff 24 year olds Olly Howells and Luke Welsby) shows a heavily funk-influenced take on dance music, akin to many of the UK's current crop of genre owning electronic artists (see Disclosure, Blawan, Bondax). In Summer 2013, Butterz took residence at Red Bull Studios and this collaboration is one of many tracks built over that period. Version One was built for the offshoot party the label have been running quietly for the past year: Jamz, Version Two for the big nights they now hold in Fabric, and Version Three is designed to chill too. Following their individual forays into the Garage area over the past 12 months - Flava D's Hold On broke her as an artist last year getting regular spins from Garage legend DJ EZ. Zwei Perspektiven, ein Melodic-House-Manifest: "WAVES". Das Epizentrum des stylischen Groovers ist Amsterdam. Dennis Princewell Stehr, aka Mr. Probz, gilt in der niederländischen HipHop- und Produzentenszene längst als ausgemachter Ideengeber für schwer hitverdächtige Song- und Textideen. Als er im letzten Jahr seine "WAVES" auf YouTube präsentierte, trat er in seinem Heimatland buchstäblich eine Riesenwelle der Begeisterung los.
