Two mixes of Mr Raoul K's opus 'Break Your Chains And Return To Botswana'. Kaito takes a step back and uses parts of Mr Raoul K's tricky beats as a rock solid base to build his soundscapes on. His mix is like the soundtrack to a movie dealing with alienated individuals who try to escape imprisonment through an endless desert. They cross this cold and dark place full of rocks with strong hearts. Stopping and hiding occasionally to avoid being seen. At last, the slowly rising sun shows them the way to freedom. Keeping their eyes fixed on the gloomy red light far away keeps their hope alive and their faith strong. Mr Raoul K's own mix takes the already beat heavy track to a whole new level by adding even more percussion. His mix illustrates the preparation of the escape. Planning, setting up decoys, be prepared to response to any move the other side takes. Timing is everything. Every unnecessary step my lead to failure. The atmosphere is dense. Hide in the shadows, take only small steps forward until you reach your goal: leave your chains behind and step out into the desert to finish your journey to freedom. Enjoy.

Leao is the latest project from Polish ex-pat Grzegorz Ochman, a man who now calls Manchester his home. In the time since he moved from his homeland, Grzegorz has quickly earned a reputation as a producer of some repute; chiefly courtesy of his Robot Needs Oil pseudonym. Like all great producers, however, he isn't one to shirk a challenge, and after recognising the fact that he needed to shake things up a bit, he settled on Leao as a new alias for his classic-sounding, deep house tracks.
The first outing in the new mask came in the shape of the brilliant "Level Infinity" for Artreform (available on 12" vinyl and digital download) but there's a whole host of goodies lined up for the likes of Sneak's I'm A House Gangster, Mono Recordings and now on Society 3.0 Recordings too (will be available as 12" Vinyl Maxi Single and Digital Download).

On "Work That Shit Party," a Fingers Inc. style rhythm buttresses a two-note riff, a crackling male voice filtering in from the ether.
A pinging keyboard zips around before that two-note flicker expands and contracts, warps and wheedles.
But around halfway in, a female vocal refrain of "Gonna work it out" breaks fat lacerations into pinholes, blaring keyboards seeping in through the gaps and crevices.
Then, as with "D117," it's the congealing of all these disparate elements: A "work it out" from Fischerspooner's Lizzy Yoder sashaying with the two-note riff, the keyboards bouncing off the ceiling, and flaring hi-hats fraying the surface played by Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem). Each portion is given its due, only to make the ensuing combination that much more enthralling.

collecting orders for a repress ! Following up their ..Henry 85.. 12 on Aus sister-label, Simple, in mid-2012, Dusky e-emerge with another four-track EP, marking their first release of the new year. Having only broken onto the scene in late 2011 with their debut album, Stick By This, the profile of dynac duo Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman has continued to rise considerably through a series of strong EPs and remixes for artists including Justin Martin and Hot Chip. Their distinctive brand of off-kilter and purposefully cross-pollinated house-garage-techno has been championed by everyone from Seth Troxler to Loefah to Pete Tong to Paul Woolford. On AUS1345, the pair demonstrate exactly why they have garnered such widespread support. Their masterful weaving of subtle, slow rising vocal clips with penetrating basslines and scattered percussion can be approached, adapted and appreciated by any dancefloor.

We keep the good-times rolling along on the Kolour mothership with the debut EP of deep-disco don DEBONAIR. We've been taking notes on this guy since we heard his first tune and ever-since, he just seems to move from strength to strength with each tune that's released. Needless to say, when the opportunity arose for us to debut his first full-on solo EP, it was the epitome of a no-brainer for us. DEBONAIR shows us all facets of his musical capability with a melting pot of music ranging from the traditional DEBONAIR deep-disco sound to slo-mo beat-down business, deep-fused funk, with a dash of beautiful baleric sprinkles for good measure.

When you hear the name Wild Culture, an image of a wild tribe living in the jungle may come to mind. Although, when talking about these artists we are not talking about a bunch of wildlings, but of two young and talented guys who live deep in a forest in Austria. Felix and Florian have long since proven their sound knowledge, with their last release on Kittball at the beginning of this summer.
