Limited vinyl reissue for highly sought-after 1976 LP 'Disco Madness' from Milton Hamilton Crystalized. Released on tiny NYC label Disko-Mania, this exquisitely-crafted slice of jazz-funk infused disco heaven from elusive music teacher-turned-pianist Mr Hamilton is sheer perfection from start to finish successfully incorporating a number of styles from lush soulful ballads such as 'I Really Got A Thing For You' and 'Our Love, through the hi-octane funk of Mahogany to cool syncopated jazz-funk bubblers like 'Crystalized' and 'So Beautiful' and the afro-funk styled cover 'Poinciana' with its dazzling interplay of jazzy organ and guitar. As you would expect from an LP engineered by revered disco supremo Bob Blank, the album spawned a number of club hits including the classic 'Love Supreme', a lilting sweeping disco extravaganza of intricate keys, grooving percussion and punchy brass gilded with the classiest of vocals which rocked the whole of New York from Studio 54 to the Funhouse and of course the underground masterpiece 'We Have All The Time', a big play for discerning Disco DJs such as Dimitri From Paris and Danny Krivit with its superb breezy feel and sweetest of vocals. There are few new releases that create such a buzz of excitement as a fresh single from Chicken Lips and with good reason. The Stafford based production duo of Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith have been working together for well over twenty years now, topping the charts with Bizarre Inc. in the 90's and helping to shape the sound of modern dance music as Chicken Lips. Everything they do has a unique and original feel to it, driven largely by their obsessive attention to detail, their vast musical knowledge and their unending commitment to vintage analog equipment.

2012 saw Meecham and Meredith join forces with South London's Southern Fried Records and so began a new chapter in the story of Chicken Lips. The duo's first single 'D.R.O.M.P' received a rapturous response and threw the Lips straight back into the limelight and with the recent high profile re-release of their 2001 anthem 'He Not In' on Defected with Eats Everything on the remix they are once again a name on everyone's lips. Now they return with their brand new single, the outstanding 'All That You Do'.

The package opens with the original version, a gem of a record built around a funk-laden bassline, disco guitar licks and Charmaine Baines' soaring soulful vocal. 'All That You Do' also has one of the simplest and catchiest top riffs that is guaranteed to stick in you head after just one listen! Brilliant!

The remix package contains a superb remix from The 2 Bears and Hot Chip Man Joe Goddard who reworks 'All That You Do' into a brooding and atmospheric slice of House music with a bassline to kill for. And Meecham and Meredith roll out their solo alter egos with Andy providing a stunning Emperor Machine remix that mines the Chicago vaults and Dean a bleeping Acid House winner as The Rhythm Odyssey.

Following on from four volumes of well received vinyl releases, Rory Phillips' 'Mixed Fortunes' singles series returns for it's fifth outing. After collaborations with Martin Dubka and L-Vis 1990 on the last two volumes Phillips goes it alone for this, the penultimate instalment in the series.

Successfully road tested throughout the long hot summer, opening track 'Circuit' is a playful piece of analogue machine music, starkly contrasted by it's flip, the sprawling 'Rise Up' which begins as a basement dub jam before evolving into.. well, you'll see.

The release coincides with Mixed Fortunes Live, which makes it's debut with a full band at the last ever DURRR party on November 9th.

DJ Support for the series has come from right across the board: Including, Erol Alkan, 2ManyDJs, The Chemical Brothers, Aeroplane, Prins Thomas, Brodinski, Headman, The Magician, Daniel Avery, Andrew Weatherall, Danny Daze, Mighty Mouse, Classixx, Punks Jump Up, Joakim, and Jacques Renault.

Vinyl 7" S/sd with Bees Wax back

The Very Polish Cut-Outs crew is back with more goodies.
After 'Krystyna' by Ptaki, the label's most successful release so far, Zambon & Kapsa bring you another sampler, filled with great grooves from Poland's rich musical past. The most recent TVPC offering is curated by two Norwegian heroes and one lesser-known, but equally talented Pole.


The A side contains two emotional tracks by big-name Polish singers, reworked with class by Chlopak z Sasiedztwa from Poznan.
The female fronted cut 'Moja Muzyka To Ja' has an anthem-like quality with a heavy, Bohannon-like discofunk groove and a passionate vocal in Polish. The catchy original was extended and reworked into a long, DJ friendly version.
The final offering is 'Dbaj O Micosc', a sultry piece of Balearic bluesy-softrock, with heavy drum breaks, lots of warm keys, an atmospheric guitar solo and moody vocals.
This beautiful love song was chopped and rearranged to great effect with a help of Space Echo. All four tracks are road-tested floor-fillers, aimed for different hours of the night.

On the flipside - Rune Lindbaek brings his magic touch and gives a subtle edit treatment to a wonderful weather-themed jazzfunk song by Nasza Basia Kochana. Rune's cut maintains the irresistible vibe of the original and beautiful vocal harmonies.
Next is the more edgy and raw offering by Sex Tags UFO's Telephones, who chops heavy synthesized Polish electro disco from the mid 80's and extends the original in an Italo Balearic style.

Die beste Metapher für dieses Genre ist Charanjit Singh's 1982 Album Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat, in welchem er einen Sound erschuf, der fünf Jahre vor der ersten Acid House Platte erschien und diese musikalisch vorweg nahm. Es handelt sich hier um keine Novelty Rekord, das Album führt das hypnotische Potenzial von House Music vielmehr ein. Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat wurde mein Keytrack für Elaste Vol. 4.

Die vorherigen Ausgaben der Elaste Serie versuchten den Spirit der italienischen Cosmic Discotheque der späten 70er Jahre zu reflektieren, ein Ort, an dem innerhalb eines Mikrokosmos DJ Geschichte geschrieben wurde. Für die neueste Ausgabe wurde ich vor allem von herausragenden Stücken, die ihrer Zeit voraus waren, und in ihrer Zeit wenig verstanden wurden, inspiriert. Elektronischer Disco ist ein weites Feld!

Dompteur Mooner bringt progressive, avantgardistische Tranks zusammen, die die Grenzen der Genres sprengten - Sei es House, Disco, Acid oder New Wave. Die legendären Aufnahmen umfassen eine größere Spanne der Musikgeschichte (1978 bis 1996), manche frühen Nummern von ihnen klingen up-to-date, und neuere teilweise alt ehrwürdig.

Viele dieser authentischen Momente waren Initialzündungen für ganze Genres - Larry Heard´s Disco-D entstand kurz BEVOR der Begriff House Music entstand. Greg Wilson's 1984er Projekt Equip wurde für eine englische Breakdance Compilation produziert, aber nie auf das Album genommen, weil es einfach zu futuristisch klang. Michael Rinder´s Gluttony kann man nicht mehr Disco nennen, aber auch nicht Post-Disco. Es könnte einer eigenständigen Stilrichtung entstammen.

Elaste Teil Vier ist nun die Heimat für diese ultra-modernen Klänge geworden.

Paradise Garage DJ and dance music legend Victor Rosado presents his remixes from the self titled debut LP from Nina Kraviz on three special limited 12"s..
Victor was part of the legendary "Garage" scene and played along side Larry Levan throughout the history of the famed New York club and went onto remixing and re-editing a whole host of stars and his work has appeared recently on the cheeky "East End" records.

Two tracks from the Jean Pierre Massiera produced band Revolution Francaise, along with updated versions by Dwilt Sharpp and Psychemagik available again on this 12"!!
'Translocomotion' was only issued on 7" as a promotional gift called Bon baisers d'Antibes and next to that, Favorite discovered the 'Discocorico' song: a crazy disco-baroque version of the French anthem, which perfectly demonstrates how eccentric and outrageous Mr Massiera could be.

The second release on Neil Diablo's El Diablo's Social Club imprint comes straight out of West Yorkshire from Leeds' very own Joe Morris.
Joe has been has had releases on 3am, Midnight Social, Nang and Paper and also produced an exclusive track in the summer of 2011 for the 'We Love...' mix cd series.
Joe sent Neil this EP and he was blown away and was instantly signed up for EDSC.

Joe is one half of the promoting team of respected Leeds club night polaroid and is now involved in new night Clandestino who are bringing the likes of A Love From Outer Space to the murky streets of West Yorkshire. Colours is a Nu Italo crazy arpegiated, string laden, acid lazer bomb which has been exploding on dancefloors over the last few months. On the remix tip is El Diablo's favourite - Eric Duncan with his Dr Dunks Disco Detour version. This does exactly what its says on the tin. A heavier New York style disco beat plays nicely over the arps with the acid line being used to maximum effect. Also not to be missed is the little 105bpm balearic gem 'Heart Strings' on the flip which will probably be getting played on a beach near you this summer and rounds the package off very nicely.
Early DJ support comes from Pete Herbert, Eric Duncan, PBR Streetgang and Crazy P.

No introduction is really needed for the massive Balearic anthem 'Jibaro'. Elkin & Nelson's scorching Latin disco classic hit big throughout Spain, South America and NYC's underground club scene in 1979 when this now rare and hard-to-find disco 12' version originally dropped, but it gained its real cult status after being picked up and championed up by the likes of Rampling, Oakenfold et al who who fell in love it after hearing it played by the legendary DJ Afredo at Ibiza's Amnesia club. Instantly recognisable and supremely dancable, this is one of the true heavyweights of the Balearic scene - and a must have for any serious record collection.

The anonymous bear and bunny from Norway is back with a super secretive 12' with two never heard before disco edit bangers. This isn't on soundcloud, there will be no digital release, and it will be a strictly limited edition 12' white label vinyl release.
Why all this secrecy and limitation, you may ask Well, the Q side contains an edit so powerful and contagious, that it is simply not for everyone to play. It is a weapon of dancefloor mass destruction that needs to be handled with the utmost care, and DJs must use it at their own risk, being careful not to devastate the dancefloors which are subjected to its massive power.

What is this powerful weapon, you may ask Well, let us just say that The Glue has done the daring deed of rearranging the track that won the 1982 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s), produced by a fellow who won another 26 Grammys during his career. They have taken the conga madness party vibes of the original to a slightly more DJ friendly peaktime bomb level. Drop it, but drop it with precaution.
And on the A-side, you will be delighted to find a more traditional, soft, yet dancefloor friendly The Glue track, tuned with warm late night feelings that will make you forget all about the rainy slushy winter that is going on outside.

Flemming Dalum is back with a fantastic Italo remix of Sally Shapiro's fantastically titled track. With some great backing synth from Kid Machine he has created an amazing Italo Disco tune with a great pop sensibility that makes it so simple and catchy you will be whistling it all day. The Manctalo revolution continues with Manchester's own Chris Massey and Italian DJ Rocca who bring this chug thud Italo floor bubbler to EP5. Its glittering intro floats through the cosmos with a euphoric flavour and is brought back into a big bang bass line for a great Italo Disco dancing experience.

So soon after his Red Laser debut on EP4 LeonxLeon is back with a clickety clack. This train journey inspired Italo Disco sees the Parisian producer get even more progressive and sophisticated with his music ideas resulting in this amazing 6 minute disco epic. Label Head Il Bosco imagines the soundtrack to a world taken over by decaying zombies. They must kill humans so they can eat brains in an attempt to satisfy their never ending hunger and when they have finished eating they enjoy dancing to sounds played by their favourite local Italo Disco DJ. Sfire is the name given to the music productions of Jeffrey Sfire and Samuel Long. Jeffrey Sfire is a dj originally from Detroit. Samuel Long is a musician from London. The two met in Berlin one summer and over their love of 80's dance and minimal wave music began working together in the studio using lots of vintage gear. The song Sfire3, included on John Roberts' Little White Earbuds podcast from 2010 and deeply loved by John Talabot, is finally ready to be released to a wider audience... along with Sfire2, a more upbeat new wavy number. Tom Trago's new 12", the album sampler to the upcoming album The Light Fantastic. Featuring the dancefloor stomper "Two Together" which was co-produced by Steffi, "True Friends" featuring Breach on the vocals and the non-album track "Avenido". Big TIp!
Tom Trago is back, giddily dancing out of the studio into the dizzying light of a European summer. Tucked under his arm are the masters for his third album, The Light Fantastic.

Since his most recent appearance on Rush Hour last autumn, Trago has spent most of his time in the studio. Over four memorable months, he constantly jammed, recorded, tweaked and produced tracks, until he had enough strong material to put together what might just be his best full-length to date.

Along the way, he was joined by an impressive guest list of guests and collaborators from Amsterdam and beyond, all of who were roped in after 'popping into the studio to hang out'.

You'll have to wait to hear the album, but the good news is that there's an enticing teaser of what's to come in the shape of this formidable three-track taster. One of the tracks, the chiming, loose-limbed, bass-heavy workout 'Avenido', is exclusive to this 12'.

When he sat down to make The Light Fantastic, Trago was keen to recapture the essence of his early work, and particularly the melodic warmth, kaleidoscopic chords and robust grooves that characterized his 2009 debut album, Voyage Direct. This time, though, he wanted to rely less on samples and apply the lessons learnt from four years of largely acclaimed production work. As a result, The Light Fantastic oozes a gleeful sense of fun, whilst retaining the depth and definition that has always been a hallmark of Trago's work.

The two album tracks featured on this sampler confirm the rich dividends that this new approach brought. 'True Friends', featuring the combined talents of Brit-in-Amsterdam Ben Westbeech and local hero San Proper, bristles with loved-up positivity, all bubbling electronic melodies, fuzzy vocoder vocals and jaunty, bottom-end bounce.

Then there's the small matter of 'Two Together', an extra large helping of the kind of loopy, feel-good deep house funk with which he made his name. Expertly teased, tweaked and produced, it sees nagging hooks, darting synths, jazz keys and disco stabs riding a relentless, full-throttle groove. Co-produced with Berlin-based Dutch producer Steffi, it's nothing less than a wide-eyed late night rush. If it doesn't have you tripping The Light Fantastic, nothing will.

Fourth release on the occasional Is It Balearic.. offshoot IIBR Remixes series, sees label bosses Coyote take the Almunia track Meaning Of Time and add their trademark touches. Previously only available digitally the boys create two remixes on this ltd edition 10" vinyl. The Coyote Sunrise mix is sun kissed chugger, with looped vocals and layers of guitars all dancing arms aloft as the sun comes up. The Coyote Sunset Mix pushes the synth arpeggio to the front and strips the track back to push the vocals to the front.
