Esoteric, Kraut-inspired Electronic Pop from Hamburg based duo, with an extended club remix from label co-founder Ed Davenport in electronic disco mode...

Originating from the gloriously inter-tangled scene between Hamburg and Berlin, Circuit Diagram are a live act and production duo fusing hypnotic psychedelic and krautrock tendencies with live drums and electronics.

The three original tracks featured here are some of the first tracks to be recorded from the coupling of Nicolas (Drums / Vibes) and Chris (Samples / Programming). 'Motown' features fellow Berlin-based originator Touchy Mob on vocals, telling a touching, foreboding and spaced-out tale of modern melancholy.

The sparkling electronics of 'Liebknecht' and 'Evi' then follow, only scratching the surface of what these guys can do in a more energetic, nocturnal situation.

On the B side we find an extended, freeform version of 'Motown', inspired by a long night at the Kraniche Klub, Hamburg, where label co-founder Ed Davenport was invited by the band to DJ.

A 6 hour eclectic 4/4 jam ensued, complete with a mid-March snow storm gently raging outside, and thus the blueprint for this record was complete.

GLENVIEW EDITS returns with this tasty (and diverse!) 4 track EP of edits from Moscow's SIMPLE SYMMETRY with their Indian tinged cut, the Ural's finest THE PAPERS who replayed all the instruments in their exotic edit, to two funky disco bangers from Chicago's BOOGIE NITE and newcomer FUNKYJAWS.

EMOTIONAL RESPONSE UNEARTH A SELECTION OF LOST REMIXES TAKEN FROM THE BRAIN MACHINE SELF-TITLED ALBUM, WITH INTERPRETATIONS BY STEVE MOORE, MAJEURE, SPECTRAL EMPIRE AND UNIT 4. When released on the THISISNOTANEXIT label in 2008 to little fanfair, the Brain Machine by Brain Machine was 2 unknown producers delivering a unique take on the electronic, experimental climbs of the Krautrock sound. Now known to be Rome based Guido Zen and London's Jon Tye - aka one half of the Seahawks - the album soon spread through word of mouth and was backed with live dates from Scotland to Scandinavia. Handing the album to a selection of producers they admired resulted in remixes from Dusseldorf's Unit 4 and Musiccargo, London's Spectral Empire - aka George Thompson (Black Merlin) and Kyle Martin (Land of Light) - and from the USA, Jonas Reinhardt and both Steve Moore and A.E Paterra of space rock pioneers, Zombi. With the demise of TINAE in 2010, the remixes never saw the light of day. The Lost Machine EP collects 4 of those remixes on to one 12", while the rest will be available as digital only. A collection of percussive interpretations take the album's electronic kraut expanses towards a darker club sound that wouldn't go amiss on the more experimental offerings from LIES or Creme Organisation. All-in-all a welcome archival excavation from Emotional Response.

With the Bombers an even heavier, more tribal take on supermaxs already fairly heavy & tribal voodoo stomper. On the flip 'Peut tre...Pas', a huge record for Ron Hardy's Music Box and a fearsome piece of aggressive yet supremely funky electronic music.

'Hum Along And Dance', a massive hit of Larry Levan and the New York b-boy community. Previously unreleased full length 15 minute version from the master tapes. A heavy jungle groove from the genius of Norman Whitfield. On the flip, 'Lamuka', a slow motion Cosmic groover with a distinct euro-afro feel.

The Juan Maclean returns with 'Get Down (With My Love)' - part 3 in an alleged dance-floor trilogy that also includes the 2 singles released in 2013. 'You Are My Destiny' & 'Feel Like Movin' were both instant classics and both were awarded Best New Track from Pitchfork. Both are still in heavy rotation.

But part 3 in this 4/4 Odyssey is here now, and it cannot be ignored, so make room for all of them in your playlists and record bags. A full length album by The Juan Maclean is being mixed now for a Summer 2014 release.

A quote from Juan regarding the making of the song:

'Some years ago I was working on the beginnings of my track 'Find A Way,' and I was at the DFA studio replacing my programmed parts with live instrumentation. I called in Alex Frankel to play my piano part on a real piano, and after he listened to it he said I had a penchant for creating what he dubbed 'Saloon House.' He thought it had a swinging sort of cowboy saloon feel and he rode around the control room of the studio riding an imaginary horse yelling 'GIDDY UP, YAHHHH.'
Get Down (With My Love) definitely has that same feel, particularly the bass line, which makes me laugh every time I hear it. It has a lot of swing, perfect for the sentiment expressed with Nancy's vocals. It's a sort of Saloon House Love Song.'

Amsterdam native Mr Mendel is one those cats you’ll find digging in the deepest vinyl crates but also one to hook up seriously tight edits.
On his debut for Basic Fingers he's played around with Gil Scott-Herons live version of 'The Bottle' as well as Fela's 'Roforofo Fight'.
With some smart tweaks and additional production Mr Mendel delivered a fantastic EP of soulful black dance music.

Humberto Matias, AKA Social Disco Club, has proven time and time again that his devotion to disco, in all its manifestations, knows no bounds. With releases on labels from the four corners of the globe the sound he produces is established to a level akin to perfection.

For the eighth release on the Gold offshoot of the Hands of Time imprint we are treated to two re-versions of at once recognisable but near indecipherable disco classics. Side A majors on an infectious conga infused repetitive funk break that's been supported by Erol Alkan amongst others whilst Side B offers a sound closer to a classic house sound from around the turn of the century. Both are tension builders that ultimately shoot their load with explosive results.

making" and has now reached its 25th vinyl release. Time flies when you're having fun-- and fun has always been the
cornerstone of Whiskey Disco. Back To The Roots ep exemplifies the label mission and the disco hippies who cherish it. Loops
filtered, space rocked and jam band, Whiskey Disco has made a mark on the edit scene that few can dispute and we've only
just begun.

Wolf + Lamb & John Camp are no strange bedfellows. In 2013 John contributed to tracks on Wolf + Lamb records, including his remix of Soul Clap's "Need Your Lovin" and his work on No Regular Play's "Birdfeathers" making him a seminal part of the family. "Make Me Fall" is a timeless tune featuring the haunting volcal work of Patricia Edwards. Driving hi-hats are peppered with jazz saxophone leading the listener through a soaring arpeggios that make it easy to fall in love with this track. On the flip Navid Izadi brings his own sound offering a dynamic spin to the original.

Italo Deviance Blog celebrates its first birthday with three killer edits on 12'. On the A side you'll find an extended & very powerful 'I wanted to tell her' by Ministry edited by Marcello Giordani. The B side contains an obscure track made in Canada but very Italo Disco flavoured 'Ladies Choice - American man' edited by Ajello and a crazy edit by special guest Beppe Loda of the release 'Captain Future - Freinde Greife an' (the German soundtrack of a cartoon from the early '80s). The Emotional Relish series reaches it's conclusion with this fourth release that sees rising DJ and producer Daniel Avery at the helm. In barely 2 years Dan has gone from up and coming DJ to one of the producers in demand, with releases on Optimo, Thrones Of Blood and Phantasy Sound, plus a CD mix for Fabric and with a debut album due in the Autumn, his trajectory is assured. Opener "Airstrike" is a straight up slice of acid house filled with chugging synth bass and 909 claps that are all about dark, sweaty dance floors. The track is kicked even harder when The Horrors band member Tom Furse steps up and eschews his psychedelic roots for a driving remix aimed for big rooms. A surprise maybe from Mr Furse, but all the better for it. On the flip, "Input // Machine" opts for the distorted old school warehouse approach, a bubbling acid bassline is married to heavily pitched vocal samples. "Sleeper" ends proceedings on a melancholic note, quite fitting as this marks the end of the series as a whole.

Beyond white noise, way past pink noise, is a sonic treasure chest unearthed by Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve for their long awaited new single.... the sound of 'Black Noise'. Hypnotic, widescreen and with a killer low end boom, 'Black Noise' marks the return of Erol Alkan and Richard Norris' future freak beat duo on 12" vinyl.

Flip the twelve over for a gentler, more baroque approach. 'Door To Tomorrow' recalls the pastoral beauty of the Left Banke at their finest. A classical motif meets Eros Child's yearning, lilting vocal, a sunkissed, melodic, string and harmony laden treat.
