Recorded with Younge's collection of rare instruments, Something About April II advances his musical paradigm with enterprising concepts and grander compositions — it synthesizes the boundaries between dark American soul and classic European cinema. For its 3rd release, Malka Tuti is welcoming Khidja to the ever expanding family. The Romanian Duo appears to be in great form after their successful releases on Emotional Especial and Love on the Rocks. With their unique approach to production that combines recording alot of friends playing live instruments (Saz, Guitars, Violins, Persian Poetry just to name a few) and with references to obscure Fusion Jazz as well as to early Industrial and techno music, a very fertile and creative ground was made. Out of it Came Racheta El Fadaa, a unique slow hypnotic tune with some Arabic and Andalusian touches, that keeps on evolving, Drums of Taksim, a timeless tune, with the mesmerizing speech in the beginning followed by heavy bass and uncontrollable string grooves, and Monkey Tiger, a pure Industrial mid-tempo power track for all the chuggers out there to go mental to with its heavy baseline, screaming violins and dance floor scorching synth lines. On the remix to Drums of Taksim we find a collab between Turkish maestros Baris K & Mehmet Aslan, that strips the original down, pitches it up, and give the ep a bit of a mid-tempo house touch and a final seal of approval.

The first release from Sign Bit Zero features two powerful edits from Mick Wills. Giving new life to the track, 'Center' by Ale Mania, a San Diego based band, the cuts here contain wholly new structures with a greater focus on the oppressive yet powerful vocal parts and the uplifting string section. By extending the (acoustic) drum track and giving it the groove and strength we have come to associate with his edits, Mick has created for us a unique take on the new wave / dark wave genres - ideal for any DJ who wants to showcase this sound in a club-focussed context. 'Center' originally appeared on the EP, 'A, who sings that beat' on Volar Records and was written by Andrew Montoya, who has kindly granted us the permission to present this record to you all.

Deep disco warrior The Revenge turns in an epic hypnotic mix of slow burning house nailed down by analogue bass and acid.
Using a filtered vocal it builds slowly as the bottom end is tweeked towards a mesmeric journey through minimal wigged out disco.Sleazy McQueen and Romano Arcaini turn in a disco inflected house mix with congas, spaces out synths and enough dynamics to keep any dancefloor bubbling.
It builds with added percussion and a filtered pad before the lead hits the break and the track comes back in with even more wallop.Drug Empire is an original off the album and has had support from the likes of Rune Lindbaek, Crazy P's Hot Toddy and Horse Meat Disco. Said to be inspired by Theo Parrish's productions it's a delicious slice of bass driven deep disco with a nod to the looser end of Detroit and Chicago.
It's all about the fully locked in three note analogue Moog bass which holds down the grooved out drums before breaking to jazzy Rhodes at the end. One for the heads.

The multitalented Roberto Auser returns to his Dutch West Coast dancefloor roots! Heavy three tracker on the Pinkman sublabel Charlois, with sounds varying from tripping intergalactic tribal electro to southern space disco.

My Blue World is the fourth studio album from German disco and synth-pop legends Bad Boys Blue and features the singles "A World Without You (Michelle)", "Don't Walk Away Suzanne", and "Lovers in the Sand". This would be the last album with original lead singer Trevor Taylor (aka Supa T). Though it was not nearly as big a chart success as some of their earlier and later albums, it's highly regarded among fans of Euro disco and Hi-NRG. Another classic from Bad Boys Blue reissued by Mirumir.

The Fifth is the first Bad Boys Blue album without original lead vocalist Trevor Taylor. Original member John McInerney took complete control of the band at this point and is still to this day the only original member performing with Bad Boys Blue. The group toured extensively across Europe for this album, on the success of the singles "Lady In Black" and "A Train To Nowhere" and the album was a hit, especially in Eastern Europe where they remain hugely popular. Another Euro disco and synth-pop classic from Bad Boys Blue reissued by Mirumir.

For the 2nd reference we have another project from Manel Ruiz (6tma / Sistema / Medio Escínico / Factor City) and Pepe Yeti (Medio Escínico / En Penumbra), in which deliver 4 tracks of spanish EBM with high quality and rawness. Darkness, coldness and impudence that are a breath of fresh air for the national dark scene.

'Broken Body' is the follow-up to 2015's 'Do It Again' single. This two-stepping banger is dripping with 90s retro-futurist sensualism, a heady and visceral latin jazz-tinged house track with a back beat guaranteed to get the dancefloor jumping. Alister's trademark synth flourishes mingle with the vocals of returning collaborator Rahan Boxley, creeping into the mix with that repeating hook of "Jump on in, Slim." When the beats are this infectious and the melodies are this strong, it's hard not to obey.

On the flip side, you'll find the deep vibes of "Ago", an analog electronic freight train with a touch of acid mysticism, as well as "Endgame", an ethereal creeper replete with rolling arpeggios and drum machines.

Alister Johnson is a staple of the Toronto DJ community and has commanded decks as far afield as the US, the EU, and South Africa. His diverse production C.V. includes work for Dinamo Azari as well as the Polaris-nominated Zaki Ibrahim. Keep your ears on Alister Johnson, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Favorite Recordings pursues its 12inch Disco series with a new 2 tracks single by 7 Samurai. After a few remixes already produced for the label over the past 3 years, the duo (Tom Wieland & Marc Frank) known for their various edits and productions for labels such as G.A.M.M or Poets Club Records, will extend this collaboration with a new album planned for 2016.

On these 2 first tracks, old-school 'x-edit' kings 7 Samurai are back on da block with two soulful original party tunes.

'Shake It Up' is a sun drenched disco reggae dub version of the classic rare groove anthem by The Vibrations, and features the vocal talents of Alicia 'Blue Eyez' Smith. While the dubby disco flip 'Cosmic Jam' (dedicated to Patrick Forge), sounds like Sun Palace´s rude movements reworked in King Tubby´s echo chamber.

DJ Vas is primarily known as a member of pioneering 90s French House band, Kojak. When the 1.0 French Touch wave was blowing the world, Kojak was one of the fourth most popular acts in France alongside Daft Punk, Air or Cassius.

Now more focused on his solo career, this talented DJ, producer and sound enginer maintains a stylish wide musical vision, and manages to find the perfect balance between styles. For this specific project, he practiced the very special game of Soul-Funk and Disco edits.

Following the success of his three prior efforts (EDR017, EDR018 & EDR022), DJ Vas is back on EDR Records, pursuing the series with this fourth edition: 4 new brilliant reworks, finely cut and re-produced in complete new versions, and filled with this classic French Touch twist!!

Normally Phillip Lauer - either solo as Lauer or together with Gerd Janson as Tuff City Kids - is the well oiled remix machine that delivers the goods for others. This time, we flipped the coin. Four tracks from his second album "Borndom", which was released in May 2015 and made it into the hearts and charts of Djs and dancers alike, gets the remix treatment. Fort Romeau, The Working Elite, Prins Thomas and Lexx, all good friends and respected colleagues, have set out to expand the Lauer universe. Fort Romeau saves the floating "ByBy" a well deserved place under the mirror ball with a extended House rework. The Working Elite, consisting of Ex-The Whitest Boy Alive member Daniel Nentwig and Thomas Sabrowsky from Brontosaurus fame and label head of Terre Des Pommes sparkle the magic over "Alright" and turn it into a Boogie House bomb of the highest order. Prins Thomas rings the anthem alarm and gives the new wave inspired "ESC" the Norwegian Disco Funk treatment that will let no stone left standing and no eye dry. Swiss finest, Lexx, smoothes things out for "Hump Acid' and proves once again that Lake Zurich is part of the Balearic Sea.

Following the recent release of So Low, a compilation of early '80s synth, industrial and cold wave classics and undiscovered gems curated by Optimo's JD Twitch aka Keith McIvor, The Vinyl Factory are set to release specially commissioned remixes of two tracks on the 16-track compilation by rising UK producer Powell and Hamburg's Helena Hauff.
Powell's pneumatic sound is perfectly suited to '49 Second Romance' by German minimalists P1/E, which he deftly deconstructs, while Hauff adds glistening synths to Belgian electro-industrial group The Klinik's 'Moving Hands' for a driving, nocturnal version.
