Jelly Roll Soul cohort Jamie Alexander makes his production debut with the Scottish party crew's second release.

The aptly named 'The Stutterer', opens proceedings, rocking a stunted, Pittman-like groove whilst B1 'The Growler' furrows a more subterranean path - all dark grubby beats, disembodied voices and a menacing bass line. Mountain Ash is an alias of producer Lusty Zanzibar. When the track Portmanteau was sent to Uber they immediately picked up this slice of hynotic experimental loveliness. Layer upon layer of emotive synths and a pulsing arp help you drift towards a beautiful climax. Coyote slow the pace a little keeping the hypnotic pulsing arpeggio and add some lazy beachside drums, percussion, a few pianos and Kalimbas creating a beautiful beach bar shuffler..Brooklyn's finest Zoovox create a subtle analogue rework staying close to original but adding their own delicate vibrations. Following the Avonmore remix EP, Bryan Ferry now collaborates with Leo Zero, Ray Mang, Leftside Wobble and Justin Robertson to release the new 'Avonmore' (Dub) EP. Pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl and housed in a screen-printed sleeve, this record is an edition of 500.
The Dub EP contains a broad pallete of sounds, scenes and genres which are traversed along the course of this four track vinyl. Kicking off in style with a version of 'Loop Di Li'. Leo Zero's take is sun-kissed and breezy, with trilling riffs and sweeping synths. UK disco-don, Ray Mang then offers a more pumping, groove driven effort that wraps Ferry's unique vocals up in a neo-Balearic cool. Flip over to the B side two listen to two fascinating versions of 'Driving Me Wild', both hosting that lush 80s nostalgia.
Mastered on the EMI 1400 and pressed to 180g heavyweight vinyl, Avonmore Dubs features both a bespoke screen printed thick card outer sleeve and a bespoke inner sleeve.

In the constant search for new, disco-inspired music, File Under Disco go all the way to Kawasaki City, Japan for their latest release by Max Essa's Jardin Studio Orchestra.

Max has been an Englishman living in Japan for many years now and has deeply emersed himself in the Tokyo underground music scene as a popular DJ.

As the Ibiza season starts to heat up Pete Tong returns to take the temperature of the White Isle and catalog this season's biggest tunes with his annual All Gone Pete Tong Ibiza compilation. This season's mix takes a new twist, as the compilation sees Pete go back to back with one of Ibiza's fastest rising talents, Andrea Oliva. The two played a thrilling backtoback set at Pete's All Gone Pete Tong Miami pool party a few months ago, paving the way for the birth of the 2016 mix.

Oliva, has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, notching releases on labels like Objektivity, Defected, Viva Music, Mobilee, among others, and minting a reputation as one of Ibiza's most in demand DJs through his weekly headlining at Ushuaia Ibiza's ANTS party and guest slots at Space Ibiza. With releases on Hot Since 82's Knee Deep in Sound and The Martinez Brothers' Cuttin' Headz later this year, it's little wonder Pete earmarked him as one of this year's breakout Ibiza acts, and asked him to join him on the AGPT compilation.

Few individuals in the world of dance music can claim the kind of influence Pete Tong has had over the last twenty years. With an unparalleled ear for new talent, Tong is the leading tastemaker of the electronic generation and this compilation is another master class in curation.

The mix is tailor- made for a dreamy, mystical Ibiza sunset, rising from Lee Burridge and Lost Desert's melodic, spanish guitar strumming on 'Stand Up Right', into the energetic and whirling peak time thriller 'Captivate' from Patrick Topping in the middle. Patrice Baumel, Lee Van Dowski, and Kink add depth and forward momentum with their entries, pushing the narrative to a climactic conclusion. Of course, Andrea Oliva rears his head musically as well, debuting his remix of Tong's and John Monkman's original 'Aurora'

The compilation features exclusives from some of the fastest rising stars in house music -Cristoph and Theo Kottis. Kottis' dreamy, almost frantic, 'Running Nowhere' closes out the compilation in perfect fashion, with glistening piano chords and wind chimes fluttering to a crescendo. Earlier in the mix, Cristoph's 'Endoxus' peters into the heart of the mix, setting the mood for the likes of Patrick Topping and Jey Kurnis. Both have had remarkable years on the club circuit, and their appearance on All Gone Pete Tong is a nod to those accomplishments.

Third 2016 release from Disco Modernism, Milan! Italoconnection are back with a banging club track inspired by the trademark robotic disco sounds of the late seventies and early eighties, a full disco odissey of anthemic proportion and a spontaneus invitation to dance. The title is inspired by the great vibe surrounding Bologna's Cassero club night 'Neon Disco' where Italoconnection played their first live gig in december 2014. Classic disco-soul jam from the short lived Larry Joseph Project, a diggers delight from 1983 that gets a much needed re-issue. The original version of "You're The Best" is up there with anything else of the era's finest moments such as by Chic or Sister Sledge or even Gwen Guthrie and there's a handy extended mix too for the heads. On the flip we also have "Irresistable" which is another soul funk-boogie jam that's so wonderful that the title suits it just perfectly.

Summer 2016 and its time for the seventh annual trip to the beach with your favorite Nangster crew. This time sailing the ship is San Francisco resident and all round top producer chap Aimes. He has spun a web of summer disco beach tunes to get the sundown grooves deep, long and funky.

First up "Spyboy" from the Korvids. They get the groove going with funky brass, jazzy Rhodes and Isley brothers style summer breeze fuzz guitar. Mysterious Englanders 1Blip2 are next up with our man Aimes debuting his shimmering nu disco rework of their brooding "Onka" track. It can be summer in Siberia too you know!... and just to prove it Kim And Buran serve up the sun-drenched synth funk of Running On The Waves. Things get lurrrvely with Sare Havlicek and the Barry White throated OD Hunte and their rolling beach synth-funk before JMRS and Ride Front Man Andy Bell mix the 90s indy rock with a Balearic groove.

Aimes delivers a second premiere with his stomping "Olas Altas" before we head off for a spot of dreamy 80s inspired melodic synth with "Stargazing" from Moon Mood. Dagfest "I Got The Feeling" samples a little known 70s funk gem from James Walsh. Italian remix meister DJ Rocca turns up the dance floor groove with his slick re-rub. We then head off to South American with Future Feelings and their superb floor led "Find Out" (Irregular Disco Workers on a first class remix). Next, we mix things up with UK based Situation featuring Andre Espeut "Stay With Me" getting a smooth floaty dance rework from Russian based 5 Reasons. It is then off to the Canary islands for Nang favorite Ilya Santana to debut one killer new track from his future LP. "Hammerhead" is big grooves, big guitars and big funk with Italian wonder worker Tobor on the remix. Bestinspace "Freedom Ltd" gets the Pete Herbert treatment next with it space funk groove.

It is off to Italy for Disco legend Beppe Loda next with his Egotrya project and his sweeping 80s analog synth pads in his "Volcano" epic. Folano "Begin" is next with Sportloto smooth pads and melodic chords working over a solid disco groove. Sheffield residents Hiem return with their zany "Lions Cheetahs Enforcers" with Siberian groovers Kim and Buran on the remix case once more. We close up with a slice of lazy guitar-drive yacht groove from San Francisco based Sorcerer and his shimmering "Video Magic".

The best of summer nu disco groove distilled down to one mix. Nang out friends.

Since its inception in 2009 Slow Motion has set the standard for new wave of Italian dance music producers. With over 15 releases in the archive the Italo/Berlin based label is now about to drop it's first ever compilation; 'Italian Dance Wave'. Bringing together some of the secret weapons that label boss Franz Underwear has had tucked away in his record bag with brand new tracks from the likes of Clap Rules, Bottin and Riders of the Lost Arp this compilation packs a mighty punch with its 22 tracks. 16 of the finest cuts that have been causing damage on the dancefloor will also be released on vinyl alongside the CD and digi-pack versions.

Original Re-press of the Original Italo-Disco Hit Recorded in 1983 by 18-year-old producer Roberto Ferrante and voiced by otherwise unknown Douglas Roop, a soldier who was working at the south Europe NATO headquarters in Naples, ìCome on Closerî was such a classic of early Chicago house that original pressings sell on eBay for upwards of $200. It was sampled on Neon Indianís ìPsychic Chasms,î giving it another small resurgence in popularity online.

Donna Summer 'Thanked God' for Friday. The Beegees sang about Saturday night. Sure. Yet in New York City, this post-disco song is the undisputed dance anthem when it comes to weekend celebrations. Originally written by James Calloway and Leroy Burgess for Patrick Adams' Phreek only to re-surface five years later as Class Action, the updated version became a classic on the radio and in every club in the Big Apple and beyond. Produced by Bob & Lola Blank this Sleeping Bag Records classic has had more lives than a cat. Heavily sampled in house music and hip hop, there is no doubt there's always a party to be had. When it comes
to the production side of things, 'Weekend' had some heavy weight producers beind the mixing board. Mixed by John Morales & Sergio Munzibai (aka M&M) and remixed by Larry Levan at the pinacle of his career, it's easy to see how this became and instant classic. The M & M mix retains more of the spirit and structure of Disco focusing on the Rhythms and allowing the mix to bring out the incredible vocals of Christine Wiltshire for what became an anthem of female empowerment on the dancefloor. On the B-Side,
Larry gives what became the trademark sound of the Paradise Garage with Deep Dubbed out remixes consisting of tape loops, vocal Echoes and delays and a big emphasis on the EQ of the Drums.

Has there ever been a band as aptly named as The Funkees Formed after the Biafran War to raise spirits in the east, they quickly conquered the dance floors of Lagos and in 1973 headed to London, playing at Ronnie Scott's and tearing up the local scene. Now I'm A Man captures the band at the height of their London-era pomp. Africans were making soca, West Indians were playing afro-funk and discolypso blasted from boom boxes across West London. The Funkees soaked it all up and delivered back, funkier, tighter and louder. Bookended by two Santana-esque jams, 'I'm A Man' and '303', The Funkees second album delivers slow burning Afrobeat ('Mimbo'), urgent jungle bongo chants ('Salam') and straight-ahead floor-fillers (Dance With Me.) Little wonder that legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ, John Peel, recorded not one, but two sessions with them. A year later, The Funkees were no more. Jake Sollo joined Osibisa. Sonny Akpabio and Harry Mosco pursued successful solo careers. (A PMG reissue of Country Boy is coming soon.) But on Now I'm A Man they burned brightly as Nigeria's most talented, inventive and funky band.

After taking a short break 'House of Disco Records' are back with a purpose. Not content with the adding to the plethora of 'Disco Edit' labels representing the genre they have opted to walk a more distinct path, determined to lean on originals or clever sampling as opposed to outright re-rubs.

In this their twelfth release they recruit previous label-mate Harry Wolfman and compadre Skinny Love to provide three stunning dancefloor ready originals. The duo have certainly delivered on the brief and turned in three diverse and clever takes on what a modern Disco track with a House soul can represent.

On remix duties they have recruited a promising young producer 'Kickflip Mike', who has released on Box Aus Holz as Joschka Seibt and paired him with experienced disco merchant 'The Revenge' who is responsible for some of the best remixes we know of, and he doesn't disappoint here with either remix

The normally work shy combo Lucatwana deliver to you FH003, or under it's more catchier moniker, City Droids.
If they'd have got it done quicker, we might have been able to cash in on the Stars Wars related hype, but never mind.
Anywho, City Droids takes the form of three originals, beginning with the uplifting funk of City Fucking, moving through the tougher and darker grind of 'Droids on Roids' and ending with a nod to Detroit with Nobody Knows.
Pleasingly, we also have a Fancy Human favourite Tigerskin on remix duties, with a smooth, driving, hypno re-imaging of Droids on Roids that hits the nail firmly on the head.

Following the release of the "Eleccio" mix CD in 2014, Especial has continued on it's path to develop and push a club sound that is slightly more leftfield than the on-going boompty House rehash, the mutation of nu-disco in to something a bit more proggy, trancey and the never ending thud-drug-chug of the 110 bpm ableton-for-beginners brigade, by offering a mixture of musically psychedelic, twisted, dubbed-out, proto-obsessed club EPs. Possibly falling between pillar and post, an audience does exist though and to celebrate that fact, a new mix CD - this time helmed by rising shipmates Khidja - is incoming. As before, "Junta" is a best of best from the previous 9 releases (EES011 - 019), plus a few special extras from our Romanian duo. To accompany the CD release, a Sampler EP again focuses on some unreleased gems, unheard versions and a special remix. We start with a remix from Khidja and their own take on the very special Masimbabele. Upon
hearing a Remix EP was in the works, the duo begged for a go and rightly so, as here is possibly the best remix, with a dubby groover. This is followed by an unreleased cut by another, but not forgotten, combo. While C&A are M.I.A, here then is an extended rework of a stand out pop-ode taken from their underrated Migration album. On the flip is new member, Alphonse, taking his proto-rave-poem deep in to the echo chamber to create a unique dub that is very much for the smokers. Finally, Khidja offer the "original" version of Looki. An ambient version appeared on the Love On The Rocks label in early 2015, but here, finally, with kick, bass and some wiggle, is their balearic masterpiece. Gracias Discos Especials !!
