Three years on from the release of the critically acclaimed debut album, Undergrass, Mushrooms Project return to Leng with a two-track taster or their forthcoming follow-up full-length.
In the intervening years, Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano have hardly been slacking, further exploring their unique blend of glistening Balearica, dubbed- out disco, Italian Afro-cosmic and psychedelic nu-disco via EPs for Horn Wax, Uber and Hell Yeah! Recordings. Their latest two-track missive is undoubtedly amongst the Italian duo's strongest work to date. The A-side boasts 'Dirty Bolas', an effortlessly summery groover destined to soundtrack sultry evenings and sun-baked afternoons. Its' rolling, percussive funk groove and undulating electric bassline keep the action moving, but it's the tumbling guitar solos, toasty
keys, humid electronics and atmospheric feld recordings that catch the ear. Flip the 12' for 'Sunset Ballad', a near ten-minute epic that more than lives up to its' name. Soft, delay-laden acoustic guitar passages and yearning electric piano fourishes set the tone, before the Parma-based production duo
gradually ups the pressure via a shuffing groove, whispering acid lines and quietly bubbling synthesizers. It's undeniably rich and life affrming, but best appreciated while lying fat on your back.
Dirty Bolas will be featured on the duo's second album, which is slated for release in the fnal quarter of 2016. For now, you'll have to make do with these two slices of seductive, sun-bright brilliance.

The Korvids are a catholic Glasgow Collective, spearheaded by singer-songwriter James Grant and Gordy Goudie. They marry a love of disco with the influence of Deodato, Axelrod, CSNY, Miles and anything else that takes their fancy. The debut single from The Korvids "Beach Coma" was released in 2015 and its summertime groove is a well known track on the US Sirius FM networks.The furrow of their combined influences and experiences runs deep, James was the front man for Love and Money, everyone's favourite band from the 1980s who should have been massive, but somehow weren't. James has also had a distinguished career as a singer-songwriter internationally. Recently performing two sold out shows in Glasgow with a full orchestra. Gordy has produced music for numerous projects and bands, including Simple Minds and has played bass and guitar for The Primevals and Echo And The Bunnymen among many others.Bad Faith" is their 3rd single released and sees James re-unite with former Steely Dan producer Gary Katz for the first time since 1986 (he produced the 1986 Love and Money album "Strange Kind Of Love"). The track itself features James in full falsetto vocal mode. It is underpinned by soul-dance grooves, punchy horns, phrenic percussion FX and on-point Rhodes keys.
For the remixes Gary Katz rolls (or reels even) back the years to the 1970s and hones in on a FM friendly US soul rock sound, but with funk and jazz undertones. Other remixes come from Russian based Kim and Buran, their "Sundowner" remix rides the nu-disco, sunset vibe to maximum effect, while their "1974 Soul Train" remix strips back the groove and attitude and hits the jazz lounge. Push to Break complete the remixes with their pulsing electronic "E mix".Also featured on the EP is another track "Blisters" which is all about big stabby bass synths, big drums, and layers of picked & waiting guitars. The original and an 1980s "extended" remix version are included, Stay tuned for more from The Korvids, their debut album is due for release in Feb 2017

Cultures of Soul Records is proud to present Greg Belson's Divine Disco - American Gospel Disco 1974 to 1984, curated and researched by Gospel Soul music authoritarian Greg Belson. Greg Belson's Divine Disco is a snapshot in time encapsulating the raw power of a spiritual performance, set to the pulsating 4/4 rhythms that were in vogue with the dance floors of the day. Labels like Savoy played a key part in identifying artists that fit nicely into this brand new style with performers like Shirley Finney and The Gospelaires, both of whom were established within the scene, but carried the 'Disco' torch brightly with their tunes featured here. Divine Disco also paints a picture of the lesser known acts that privately released their message to the hopeful masses, such as the Gospel Ambassadors and the Inspirational Souls, whose recording budgets would have been significantly less than any 'major' label. As proven here, they had no less of an impact to the listener. Other tracks on this compilation such as Betty Griffin's "Free Spirit" have become big club spins for the likes of the NYC Downlow and Horse Meat Disco crews. Also included are recently discovered tunes like the Masters of Music's "Trouble Don't Last Always" as well as a future classic by The Testimonial Singers, which features several young members of the Winans Family. We've got you covered too for those more modern soul, boogiefied moments with rarities from Delores Fuller, Herman Harris and two offerings from the killer LP by Enlightment. This compilation also includes remixes and edits by Steve Cobby (who was a member of Fila Brazillia) and Rahaan.

Aus Music follow up a string of records from fresh signees Paul Woolford, Tom Trago and Recloose with the return of a long term friend and label favourite Marquis Hawkes. Hot on the heels of his recent LP 'Social Housing' - the Berlin based artist lines up 'Doornroosje', a tight a two-tracker that remains consistent with his output on Aus: dancefloor-focused jams suffused with simplicity and soul. 'Discopuss' kicks things off with a potent combination of samples and hardware as sassy Funk samples are propelled by tough crunching drums. The title track then follows up with piano stabs and busy, percolating synth lines driven at a pacy rate to rapturous effect rounding off another solid addition to Aus Music's catalogue.

For unknown reasons several of the files attached to these e-mails have been labeled as 'Stereoyunost'.
Wikileaks was kind enough to release audio recordings to Mysidian that were found on the server and have immediately been pressed to vinyl.
Don Jones & Bill Benjamins have been linked to the recordings but we're still unsure who Stereoyunost is and the connection they all have with each other.

This 1979 release is one of the two albums by the disco outfit THE RAY CAMACHO BAND with bandleader Ray Camacho, exploring the field of the funky club dance music happening at that time. Original copies of this brilliant album go for about 800,00 USD among collectors. Now the brand new reissue of "Reach Out" enables us booty shakers to get into the ever pulsating grooves. The needle lowers down and hits the vinyl and a beat like flashing lights sets in. Bass guitar, regular drums and percussions weave a tight web of rhythm patterns that capture your body right away and set you into a state of trance. You recognize Latin influences here and there, which become obvious when the horns blow out lush harmonies and relaxed but hot blooded melodies hit your ears. And indeed Ray Camacho actually comes from Latin music and he mixes both worlds very well on this record. A massive collection of sheer disco funk hits that will give you a joyful time spinning the record, but leave no time for a short breath. You will dance and dance and just dance to these perfectly produced and executed songs that stick to your mind for quite a long time after the music has faded. Larry Levan's name is synonymous with contemporary dance music culture, his contributions are widely noted in many books and documentaries and in the memories of the lucky people who got to experience his phenomenal DJ sets at the now legendary Paradise Garage in NYC throughout the late 70's until the late 80's. His name is still mentioned with reverence today and he is listed as an influence by countless DJs and artists across the world.

Not only did Larry hold down a residency at one of the finest clubs on the planet with his impeccable selecting and DJ-ing skills for a decade, he also lent his expert ear to many remixing jobs and production sessions, adding his touch to a slew of classic dance records that encapsulated the era; Tanaa Gardner "Heartbeat", NYC Peech Boys "Don't Make Me Wait", Esther Williams "I'll Be Your Pleasure", Gwen Guthrie "Seventh Heaven" and Loose Joints "Is It All Over My Face" to name a select few.

It is Larry's peerless tastes that form the basis of the second volume of the 2003 Japanese CD only Salsoul records compilation. Compiled by Hisa Ishioka of King Street Sounds / Nite Grooves and consisting of some all time classics dug deep from within Salsoul's vast archives. The tracks included here got regular airings on the dance-floor of the Paradise Garage and helped to form the basis of and inspire the subsequent House and Techno movements in the years following the closure of the club and Larrys' tragic passing.

This second volume features another slew of essential tracks from back in the day with classic artists like Skyy, Candido, Instant Funk & Loletta Holloway all featuring. Pressed onto vinyl for the very first time "Paradise Garage - The Legend Of Dance Music Vol.2" contains some stone cold Garage anthems, re-mastered and presented here in triple LP format to remind us all of the power of these timeless records, and the power of the mighty Larry Levan!

The third release of the "Obscure Cuts" series, curated by the Italian disco pioneer Beppe Loda, represents the electronic dance movement that formed in the late 70s - early 80's in Italy. It features a few obscure productions that were inspired by Giorgio Moroder and other European electronic music of the time.

Release no 31 finds KAT Records on a European tour with 3 reworks based on 80's Belgium, Italy & Germany disco & new wave with man of the moment Moscow producer Phil Gerus (FutureBoogie, Sonar Kollektiv) taking centre stage.
Well, 3 really obscure one's here from KAT with Mr Gerus pulling no punches - 80's Soul, (punk) funk, disco, synth pop & new wave are just some genre's that may well get thrown around here but as ever with KAT, quality prevails. We're going to do a sneaky one here and protect the names of the originals (jus' cause we can!) but suffice to say, these are ace!
Agent Yuri is a mid-tempo boogie melter with buckets of soul - A killa groove, silky tinkling piano and a vocal that could sink ships - Pure summer lovin' and then some.
When we mention 'pulls no punches' then Mr Hero is what we mean - Full on, no holds barred 80s Belgian new wave bordering on punk/funk with raging guitars to boot - A real grower and when heard on a decent sound system we won't be held responsible for any outlandish actions that may well prevail.
Be my Lova couldn't be more Italian if it tried apart from the fact that it's actually German ! Italo vibes with super bloody marvellous vocal, synth's all over the show with a chorus more catchy than the common cold.

To mark the final year of Space Ibiza, Space Ibiza and Cr2 Records are proud to release a very special, one-off retrospective celebrating 27 years of the club. Ninety is the second full-length album and first on ZTT Records by British electronic music group 808 State, released in 1989 and featuring the UK Top 40 single 'Pacific State' which reached #10 in November 1989.

808 State's debut album release on ZTT Records wasn't the first major U.K. house/techno release, but arguably, it was the most important at the time, gaining a reputation over the years as a true classic in the field of electronic music. It helped to fully lay the groundwork for the '90s electronic revolution that continues to play out in the U.K.

Slant Magazine listed the album at #54 on its list of the 'Best Albums of the 1980s' saying 'A thrilling expansion of the possibilities for acid house and arguably the best LP ever produced in the style'.

Available on limited edition triple vinyl (via DJ specialty shops) this is a compilation of nine tracks remixed (between 1979 and 1982) by Larry Levan, the DJ behind New York's famously influential nightclub, The Paradise Garage. Levan is a producer and remixer who, though he died in 1992, continues to be cited as one of the industry's greatest and most revered. Each of the nine individual full-length tracks was DIGITALLY REMASTERED specifically for this project. The sound quality is brilliant! The compilation comes complete with comprehensive liner notes giving the label's history, its relationship with Levan and anecdotes about each of the nine remixes and how each came about.
Originally released in 1999 this release has been fully re created for 2016. Released in conjunction with West End.

Vinylmania: As classic disco came bounding through the late '70s and into the electronically orientated sounds of the '80s, New York was one of the undisputed frontiers for the latest developments in dance music culture, nightclubs and the art of DJing. At the center of this seminal time for vinyl culture was a store called Vinylmania, set up by Charlie Grappone in the heart of Greenwich Village, Manhattan, just as the culture of 12-inch singles and promo copies was taking hold. From supplying Levan, Tony Humphries and many more with the latest imports to championing the emergence of house music in the mid-'80s, Grappone and his staff played a significant role in New York's own dance music story. Through the '90s and up until closing in 2007, Vinylmania was a store that catered to DJs from across the complex mixture of racial, social and sexual demographics that made up New York and its legendary nightlife. Man Friday: As the NYC Peech Boys came to an end, Man Friday became Larry Levan's newest production project. Fronted by Kofi Morny and Brodie Williams, their dubut single 'Love Honey, Love heartache' was released by Vinyl Mania in 1986 with Larry Levan at the helm of the mix. Love Money: In the spirit of most dance music borrowing elements from other sources, 'Love Honey' was heaviliy inpired by another Paradise Garage & Loft classic from 1980 and its remix in 1981 by UK Outfit Funk Masters / TW Funkmasters. A dubbed out track big in the Jazz-Funk scene in the UK, it became a hit among underground Deejays in Both NYC & Chicago. Love Honey: No matter what list you look at. 'Love Honey' is always attached to Larry Levan's tenure at the Paradise Garage. All the elements of a Garage Track are here; Dub Echoes, Synth Basslines, Percussions that linger, FX -that one can only dream of hearing on a Richard Long System- and an Organ, because after all, they say the Garage was like going to Church. Remember when you'd buy a record after hearing it at the Club We miss that. As a result, We are proud to Introduce Get On Down Sound with the aim to bring back our favorite Dance 12's to a new generation of Vinyl-DJs.
