Although Coming From A Family With A Music Background, It Wasn't Until Later, In 1979, That Kenton Nix Started To Make Moves In The Industry. Kenton Had A Test Pressing Of This Song Of His, A Song He Called "work That Body". The Record Didn't Have Vocals Yet, But He Brought The Record To The Legendary Paradise Garage And Gave It To The Even More Legendary Larry Levan In The Dj Booth. Larry And The Crowd Loved The Record And Kenton Asked Larry If He Couldn't Help Him Get The Record To Salsoul Records. Here we are for the 4th round of Apparel Wax and a crazy one indeed for all the lovers of the vinyl masked man, a release that expresses 4 different nuances of House. Few words are needed to describe the debut of the vinyl with A1 track which is a rarely powerful combination of 2.0 Dance Music and 80's vibes, a proper slap in the face to kick it off! Our unknown DJ then shifts to a more sensual mode with A2, where funky guitar shades and smooth chords blended with the vocals that drag us on a more intimate level of listening to keep on traveling on a lower tone. Disco Segreta makes this dream come true with its 6th release: the muchawaited officially licensed reissue of this tropicalo-disco synth bass boogie atomic bomb, from the original analog masters.

Written in late 1983 by Mario Baldoni aka Miro (of Real Life Games' LP(1977) and Brina's Stranamore' (1984) 7' fame, was originally released in July 1984 on the small Pineapple label - a sublabel of Armando Sciascia's Vedette' - with close to no success and a pressing fault: a glitch on the vocalversion, that affected all copies.
This tropical summerish blend of italo and boogie, along with the male/femalealternate spanish/english singing, turned into a true classic of the genre over the years, slowly making the playlists of the most respected DJs and diggersworldwide.
The 4-tracks 12" features the original vocal and instrumental versions in theiroriginal lenght, carefully dubbed from the analog stereo masters and takenback to new life through Disco Segreta's usual respectful mastering. Also, twonew remixes are featured.

Bill Browns super rare Brownstone release is one for the deep heads, less well known than label mate 'Everyday People' but just as rare and collectable. Shuffling sunshine soul its all about the groove and feeling. 500 copies only. One for the heads.
Bill Brown and Al Hall jr met around 1971, they were both in south central L.A and shared the same apartment building, also in the same building was Doug Carn and brownstone singer billy Wilson. These studio sessions were done at Paramount studios Hollywood where Al Hall jr was working for producer Art Smith a&c music. The main distributor for A&C was Accent records.

Johannes Albert is a producer as diverse as they come. Comfortable across all sub genres of dance music from deep house to italo disco, in Italy they call him Giovanni Alberto. He's been praised by the likes BICEP, Gerd Janson, Lauer and the Keinemusik crew, and he's only just getting started.

The Dancing Plague EP is summer music for summer people. Opening with the hefty, wonky basslines of the club ready; TPTS. Gravy Train is a combination of grooving bass-lines and disco drums, the end result is a solid dancefloor stomper. The uniquely titled Pachanga follows, abundant with nu disco and italo references. This is a real summer track, as the sun sets in the city ahead of a huge party, the one that will entice the shyest of dancers to move. Keeping with the off the cuff track names, the EP finishes with the dusty, sun tinged Rainbow Pan.

Harlem's legendary Disco label Queen Constance has long been a cult favourite among fans of underground dance music for decades.

One of many labels operating under the equally legendary P&P family of imprints Queen Constance was operated by one Peter Brown, a truly colossal figure in NYC's music scene, it's catalogue still fascinates music lovers to this day. Covering a wide range of styles including Gospel, early Rap and Disco the label's output continually finds it way into the playlists of respected DJ's and selectors across the globe. Licky & The Dream Lovers' massive afro-disco groove 'African Rock' is the next in a fully licensed series of Queen Constance rarities to be repressed.

Licky seems to be yet another studio group put together by Peter Brown in order to explore different sounds and styles. This raucous piece of uptempo, blazing Disco really does the business in the dance, a truly immense club record, which is not surprising considering Brown is at the helm. Ridiculous Funk on this one. Across 2 sides we are treated to 2 slightly different versions of the cut, both equally as good, you could literally put the needle on the record, let it spin and watch it do damage. This one is an essential, a truly sought after record that commands extremely high prices on the used market when it shows up, but rarity aside, it is an absolute bomb and deserves to be in any self-respecting Disco jocks bag of tricks.

It has become a tradition for The Maghreban to make records commemorating the passing of cats he knew and loved. One of these tracks is for Martha.One of the tracks someone said sounded like "too many pots and pans". The other one he made using Elka X705 organ sounds.

It's a shame that these tracks together make for such a tepid, middling, unremarkable record. Not his best work by any stretch. Perhaps there is different music around the corner.

Three years ago, a long-overdue and much-anticipated debut album from Let's Play House co-head Jacques Renault finally hit shelves, and now, the follow-up effort, the sophomore swing, arrives. If Zentrum was a sprawling and aspirant full-length, BK Club Beats, Breaks & Versions is an exacting and focused rejoinder, a powerful, punchy, and succinct exposition of Renault's skills and fortes. It's a deep-dive into the movements that sucked him into club music and a celebration of the inspirations that fueled his ascendance to DJ and producer in his own right. What we give you here is an album of originals that have been conceived, orchestrated, and stitched together to function as a classic Renault peak-hour set classic house sounds sandwiched between hip-hop breaks and disco licks, all glued into place with his trademark full-bodied, colorful, swinging drums. The A-side has a daytime glimmer and glisten to it, a sunniness that imparts it with a distinct top-down-crisscross-through-the-city flavor. The flip is just as pumped and uptempo, but it has a rounder bottom and feels murkier, steamier, and, by extension, more late-night. But the overarching achievement here is how Renault has crafted an album that's mood-agnostic; it's articulated with dancefloor language, but it's not beholden to the dancefloor. A satisfying, fulfilling journey that begins and ends with semicolons rather than exclamations or question marks. It takes off and descends determinedly and invites the option of there being a sequel, an epilogue, an encore, while not necessitating one. When it's all over, you'll ask yourself what's next and then realize it's the A1.

Steve Cobby and Laurie Welton are both from Hull in the north of England. Cobby is one of the members of the pioneering electronic outfit Fila Brazillia while Welton is the man behind the Myth! project, whose "False Profits" EP was released last year on Posthuman's Balkan Recordings label. In fact, Cobby has known Welton's aunt for 20 years and Laurie has been a fan of Fila Brazillia since the early '90s. So when Laurie was asked by Steve to collaborate with him, he jumped at the chance.

The fruits of their collaboration are the three tracks on the "Absolute" EP. This release is truly an international affair; the label, Adam Warped's Whiskey Pickle imprint, is based in Austin, Texas, the artists are from the UK, while a remix of "Absolute" comes courtesy of New Yorkers Whatever/Whatever, a duo staffed by Bryan Mette and legendary NY DJ, producer and remixer Justin Strauss.

Here's one for all the hardcore Disco and Soul lovers out there, one of the finest and rarest manifestations of the legendary writing, arranging and production team of Randy Muller and Jeff Lane (Skyy, BT Express, Brass Construction, Aquarian Dream, Spiders Webb and many more!). First appearing as a 'Columbia Records Disco Series' promo 12" in 1976 this is a wondrous example of that mid to late 70's uptempo Soul sound morphing into Disco, and boy are we glad it did! Drenched in pure Philly vibes 'I'm Ready To Give Up My Life' is a real beauty, clocking in at over 9 mins of pure dance-floor joy with soaring strings and a driving rhythm. Pure class all the way and one for the aficionados for sure. Beautiful Soul music that will certainly deliver the goods in the club indeed. As per the original 1976 promo release this 12" features the same program on both sides.

This underground Disco classic has been legally reissued by Above Board distribution in conjunction with the legal rights holders - Sony Music Entertainment. This high quality repress features original Columbia white label Disco 12" artwork and has been remastered from Sony's original sources by Optimum Mastering, Bristol UK.

Reigniting the long-standing creative partnership between Greg Wilson and Kermit Leveridge, Super Weird Substance was formed in 2014 on the back of their inspired collaboration on the 'Blind Arcade Meets Super Weird Substance In The Morphogenetic Field' mixtape. Building on this momentum, 2015 saw Super Weird Substance return with 8x12" vinyl and a CD compilation, exhibiting an original sound best described as balearicpsychedelicdubdisco.

Alongside the music, the label has also turned its attention to a series of events known as Super Weird Happenings, taking the sixties-styled gatherings to 5 stops around the country in 2014, hosting a memorable day by the estuary at Festival No.6 in 2015 and assembling the behemoth 14 Hour Super Weird Happening at Liverpool's Florrie in 2017.

Having worked on another sample-based mixtape last year, 'Alan Moore's Mandrill Meets Super Weird Substance At The Arts Lab Apocalypse', alongside a few new recordings, Super Weird Substance will see a more focused return to original recordings in 2018.

On the flip things get even stronger with the proto-house banger 'Girl Like You' a sick soulful number with with a biggest swinging kick drum I have ever heard, both proper club material.

Temples Of Jura is a new offshoot catering for original artist material from a variety of genres. The first release is a split Dub 12' featuring Melbourne's Len Leise and Adelaide's Jura Soundsystem. As the title suggests Len's track is a homage to the legendary Dub pioneer Adrian Sherwood whilst Jura Soundsystem debut with a more Rootsy excursion across 3 mixes.
