E. Myers returns just in time for the summer, with two heaters of contrasting styles. 'I Am Alive' is a celebration, cooked up from heavy drums, percussion and bass synth, coming together with pads and arpeggiated synths for full blown elation.

'Dreamland' keeps its poker face on throughout it's entire 9 minutes. Threatening to break out but staying cool with its restrained bump, it's equally at home in basements as it is on beaches.

Essential for those who feel that need to close your eyes and play air keys when you hear an absolute beast rip thru the speakers at "the spot". Killer!

In the previous reissues we talked so much about this fantastic piece and "Marie", a very cinematic and supportive song, that now it is appropriate to dwell on the re-visited version of Danilo Braca that extends beautifully on the AA side of this new remastered reprint. Danilo who lives in the big apple often frequents Ibiza, perhaps also for this he has been able to exalt the most rhythmic elements of "Shadows from Nowhere", putting the beautiful falsetto beats to excessive movements, just like the waves that wash themselves on the sandy beaches of the White Island. His teacher Mario Gentili from Layer Bows added a beautiful arrangement for the strings and his Italian-New York collaborator Alvise Marino spread some fragments of guitar powder on top. That's it. 9 minutes of pure bliss, but also of catchy rhythm!

Mind Fair return with a deadly two-part interpretation of the Joe Jackson classic 'Steppin' Out'. For their latest Rogue Cat Sounds incarnation the Golf Channel mainstays have enlisted the indispensable talents of Charmaine Baines on vocals, Climax Blues Bands' Derek Holt (Bass &Guitar) and Alex Bradbury (Sundown Drive) on keys.

This slowed down, melting pot of Soca not Soca meets Lovers Rock, Reggae, Blues and soul is brought to you in two parts Part one deals mostly with the song, Charmaine's vocals sounding suitably dreamy and laid back whilst part two puts focus on the instrumental groove where the guitars, strings and Rhodes are the main attraction.

MISCHIEVOUS URGES EP' is an extract of the same-titled debut album of VELVET KILLS (self-released in digital and released in CD version by our partners in crime UNKNOWN PLEASURES RECORDS). Thanks to their outstanding debut Velvet Kills reached to be on important press windows with their unique blend of synth pop and alternative post-punk. 'MISCHIEVOUS URGES EP' arrives on SPECIAL EDITION presented on 12 EP format and produced in a ONE-OFF truly limited edition of 200 copies lacquered pressed on 180 gr. high quality solid white vinyl. All tracks have been specially mastered and remastered for LONG CUT vinyl by Eric Van Wonterghem.

Label boss "Aimes" returns to his home base with a double track of chugging acid-tinged left-field techno. Both tracks implore multi-dimensional existentialist lyrics combined with cosmic leaning production. A1 is the title track of course, describing an out of this world existential experience. The track is bouncy, fun, and slightly odd, but certainly danceable.

On A2 (which is offered up only on vinyl), Aimes takes the original song and turns it into a club-ready slow-burning stomper with a full on repetitious acidic bassline fit for any sleazy techno set.

The remix on A3 comes courtesy of Sean Johnston aka Hardway Bros (member of A Love from Outer Space with Andrew Weatherall) who turns the original into a dark and brooding version with a punchy bassline and cosmic synths.

Aimes’ second original on the EP "We Are Eternal" is a massive
slowed down acid burner that reiterates the eternalness of humanity. Incredibly psychedelic in nature, the pulsing bass and bubbling acid line is prime for a dark and sweaty rave.

B2 comes courtesy of Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara who submits a cosmic, dubbed out flip of the original, taking the listener on an extended spatial journey.

On B3 Japanese producer 'Que Sakamoto' and his production-partner 'NT' ramp up the bpms for a dark disco rendition of the original.

Overhauling its own vast legacy, Sony Music announced a reissue of 'Flame' — a hidden gem of early trip-hop music created by the creative genius of Crustation.
Originally released in 1997, 'Flame' was one of the last works that Bristol trio came up with. At the same time, it's also one of their most powerful pieces: the main track, filled with a hazy vocal of Bronagh Slevin, is a twisted love song full of shuffling beats and inner groove. Crustation's approach to production and composition served as an inspiration to quite amazing remixes as well. Borderline Insanity Dub Mix and Mood II Swing Vocal Mix by influential and innovative house classics Mood II Swing are definitely the stand-out acts of the record, which sound as powerful and timeless as they were two decades ago.
The trio of producers known as Crustation were quite connected in the fertile Bristol trip-hop community — they played in bands with Portishead's Adrian Utley during the 1980s, and regularly hung out with Massive Attack and Smith & Mighty. They debuted in 1994 with two EPs for Cup of Tea Records (also the home of Monk & Canatella, Statik Sound System and Purple Penguin), and released their debut album Bloom in 1998.

Ichisan's 2017 Aperitiv was so good that we've decided to return for a second helping from his sumptuous album. Four choice cuts have been selected and reworked with a specific instrument focus. The harpsicord version of 'Hotel' keeps the intoxicating melody of the original but allows beats to relax as notes shine with an incandescent brilliance. Drums put their feet up for the Rhodes version of 'Modri Tunel.' Deep stings and lounging lines mingle in this work of smoke swirling seduction. 'Kozmetika (Trumpet Version)' dances to a different tune. Rich bass is again central but this time brash and bold brass intertwine with funk filled bars. The last waltz arrives with the piano version of 'Terminal E.' Alluring notes ascend, rising and falling against heartwrenching guitar strings for a finale to end this ballroom inspired beauty.

We are happy to bring back to your ears this giant artist, who across decade of music, with great personality had giving us so many groovy songs. Samm Culley is an R&B, Soul & Funk keyboard player, a dope songwriter. His music career started within the band « Tiny Tim & The Hits » with « Tom Price & Bill Collier ». This trio soon left Tiny to form them own group « The Diplomatics » with « Irving Waters » as lead singer. They later on became the legendary « Skull Snaps » (One Lp on GSF Records)… Over The Time Samm co-produced and (or) played with many unforgettable famous artists such as The Fatback Band, George Kerr, Patrick Adams, Vaughan Mason, Reggie Griffin, De-De, Van Mc Coy, Lloyd Price & even later in Hip Hop music with Marley Marl or Freddie Foxxx. Back in 1982, the original issue of the A Side “Walk”, a great killer dance floor tune, the sunny guitar hook make you feel the summer heat Jazzfunk Boogie, came out on a Silver Cloud Records 12inch, this track bring you light shine to dance as a Walk, close your eyes & easily imagine crazy tricks of Jazz Funk dancers, go fly with his sensual voice & let's tripp on sunshine... The B Side is a remix by our well known Lord Funk & his partner Moar, their wishes was to respect the original song, putting on a slight drums & effect. We hope you gonna like that new Boogie Slice!

The story of TodoTodo is one of the most incomprehensible and surprising in the history of Spanish electronic music. Without doubt it is, sadly, also one of the most ephemeral. The curse that has haunted them since their forming in 1980 and during their short year and half of life is already legendary. Domestica Records did justice to the group in 2012 with a comprehensive compilation and this EP joins this initial tribute as it reimagines some of these trailblazers most representative productions: Digital Dancer and Autoga´s.
Almost forty years later, Frigio is bringing some of their music to a fresh audience. Juanpablo with his extended edit of 'Digital Dancer.' A steady kick tethers a tripping mechanical melody, a melody that bubbles and simmers as toms, horns and daring funk collide for this seven minute odyssey into the world of Iberian underground synth. The original version from 81 closes the A, a brief and brilliant piece of proto-techno. The flip is introduced by Catalan Dj, journalist and author of ¡Bacalao! Historia Oral de la Mu´sica de Baile en Valencia, Luis Costa. Costa re-imagines 'Autogas' with his Tool Edit, reshaping the off-kilter keys and future highways and byways of the original. The finale is a true treasure from the annals of time. A live version of 'Autogas' from the legendary Rock'Ola club in Madrid, an unreleased work that is as audacious and bold as it was when it was first performed in 1981.

This record is in loving memory of Vincenzo Balestrieri, "Offshore Powerboat Racing World Champion", 1968, 1970. From the first to mid-sixties the "Offshore Powerboat Racing" was emerging as a worldwide sport. Great Britain, France, Sweden and Italy were holding regular events that, along with the existing US venues, became part of the World Championship Tour. In 1968, after a four-year domination by the Americans, Italian count Vincenzo Balestrieri Cosimelli of Rome, (Dec. 18, 1926 - March 31, 2012) was able to clinch the world title by winning 5 of the season's races: 1 - Sam Griffith Memorial Race, Florida, US 2 - Naples Trophy, Naples, Italy 3 - Viareggio-Bastia-Viareggio, Italy 4 - France's Dauphin D'Or, France 5 - Swedish Grand Prix, Sweden ...and by taking the second place at the Wills International Race, England. We loved going to the Electric Ballroom to see the legendary Paul 'Trouble' Anderson who was killing it in there with Boogie, Electro, Hip Hop and Disco - he was such a huge musical influencer.
When he dropped 'Heaven and Earth' in the mid 80's, the joint went ballistic.

That tune ruled London and became not only a rare groove classic but remains a much loved staple of today's club scene - all because of Paul's exceptional ear for music.

Disco-funk recorded in London in the late-70s by Fungai Malianga who’d relocated from South Africa to North London. His funk-led ode to his manor with ‘Finsbury Park Party’ sportin’ Break-beats, tape echo, horn section and a narrative on Harringay’s finest known landscape. This is backed by a disco-funk version of Lennon–McCartney’s ‘Things We Said Today’, not only the most unknown version until now but also the grooviest. Drum & bass grooves to the max.

Kazahaya welds together Ain't No Mountain with Let Me Down Easy for an intense high tempo disco workout.
The track builds and builds with a killer vocal from a soul legend. There is even a heavy drums breakdown towards the end of the track. Mashups don't get better than this.

Side B - Forever
A midtempo soul workout on the flip, perfect end of night fodder. Kazahaya takes a slept on Casablanca classic and moulds it into a heavy modern soul wonder.

This wonderful, Balearic tinged Disco rarity is getting the official reissue treatment finally!

Nicolette Larson's 'Lotta Love' has long been a sought after jam, with the promo only 12" version changing hands for big dough!
Mixed by the legendary Florida born and NYC dwelling mixer and DJ extraordinaire Jim Burgess, this one straddles that gorgeous line of being a bit Rock (Neil Young wrote the track) and totally Disco in all the right ways. A truly sweet slice of music here backed with a nice cover of Sam Cooke's classic standard 'You send me'.

Often bootlegged, there's been some shoddy facsimiles kicking around over the years this high quality, official, 100% legit reissue has been lovingly remastered by Above Board distribution in conjunction with Warner Brothers from the master tapes. What more can you ask for This 2018 repress is a reproduction of the 1978 WB promo only 12" complete with Warner Brothers artwork. Essential business.

The sweet and funky side of the Constant Sound empire is back for a third bout. Cardiology deals in the finest disco edits and deep house delights for soul-centric groovers, and so it continues with this sure-footed 12" from The Owl. "Soul on Fire" is an appropriate title for the lead track, which keeps the vibe sizzling throughout with a strictly managed dose of Philly disco magic. "Universal Funk" takes things more upfront, but still those drops hold just enough back to keep the track utterly cool. "Funk Town" gets wild on the filter with the core sample hook before dropping some sassy bass and bongo heat at the track's apex. "Concrete Soul" completes the picture with a wistful choice in samples and the nastiest b-line on the whole record.

Launched in 2018 with two first EPs, Broken District continues to explore alternative music styles with the third instalment of its VA series.
