Welcome to our last instalment from Eryk and Antoinette McClinton. Brother and sister duo who recorded these demo tracks with Detroit legends Mike Theodore and Dennis Coffey. Recorded around 1979 these cuts were a spotlight on the duo's talents, hoping land them a record deal. Both had been active in the past with various recordings. Erik & the Vikings, and together as Eryke and Aronnette on Honey records. Here we have Four cracking disco fused funky songs, "Love doctor" made it on to our record store day lp "Long Distance Love Affair" so you may have already heard this. Accompanying this track are two more disco funk cuts. "Its all in your mind" & "Funky time Saturday night". Last and not least is the 2 step jam of "Recollections". All four cuts included some tasty breakdowns.

From groovin house to modern disco ready to beam away...

The seminal production duo that was Kevin Hedge and Josh Milan - aka Blaze - during the 90's set the bar for soulful dance music. Their body of work in the 90's is unparalleled in house music, and is still discovered by generations of music lovers today. On this limited edition 12' repress we combine two timeless productions with Milan performing under the moniker of Alexander Hope.

This is the first time "Lowdown" has ever been pressed on 12" vinyl single since it's original release in '76. The B side brings back "JoJo" off the 1980 Middle Man album, coupled with the mighty "What Can I Say". RSD exclusive pressed on 180g vinyl.

When Bridge Boots started out it was a way for Caserta to take classics and introduce them to the dance floor in a completely different way. Finally he said enough is enough. Instead of reintroducing classics lets make some first introductions of some new ones! The first offering is ‘Most High’.

The A Side features an extremely special guest, none other than JUST BLAAAZE but for this release we’ll call him The Reverend Just Blaze. Rev Blaze comes with an uplifting sermon in his legendary vocal rasp over a bed of triumphant horns, flutes, vibes and strings. Let’s be honest who couldn’t use some ‘triumph’ these days?

The B Side is a smooth disco affair that could be considered Luther 3 if it wasn’t for the absence of Mr Vandross. Instead LA Opera tenor Ashley “Ash” Faatoalia and Caserta himself handle the vocal duties over disco drums, grooving bass by the incomparable Serge Gamesbourg and funky guitar by Nile…I mean Ryan “Lucky Ry” Stockbridge.

With this line up it all but guarantees someone will be giving Caserta a taste of his on medicine and bootlegging him somewhere down the line ;)

‘Ain’t Go No’ See’s him collaborating with KPD & as you would expect is based around a super-catchy riff and unmistakable groove with a soulful vocal which are all the hallmarks of a producer who is at the absolute top of his game.

Machinegewehr, an amazing & complete artist (painter, musician, DJ,…), sends us a wonderful Cosmic Italo sound! It’s 3 AM and now, it’s time to unify and move forward in the same direction. Close your eyes and go far away…

Finally, the duet Los Pollos Hermanos (Myrddin & Red Fish) produces music cut to dance until the end of the night. A catchy, powerful, and uncompromising Nu Italo rhythm!

It's 6:66am when Chinaski elbows his way on to the floor. Leather jacket. Metal studs. Bare arms. Tattoos. With his hand freshly stamped this newcomer brazenly strides into the Bordello. His style Try to pin it down. Beats parry and pound with the intensity of an EBM hammer. Yet, strolling through those meaty kick drums stride shimmering melodies that sport elements of new beat, italo and techno. The rakish grooves of 'Surfin' Dead' occupies the A-Side. Bold rhythms fly in the face of burbling bass and cascading chords as Chinaski takes control. A body pumping work out follows. 'Unschuld Der Sinne' throws beat shaped fists from the needle drop as a brawl breaks out. Born in the smoke machines of Belgium, this bruiser balances its rough edged rhythms with beaming bars. There's to be no relenting as the closer screams like a nitro-fuelled missle. 'Ab In Die Ewigkeit' soars is a muscle-bound sky rocket set to keep any floor rumbling to the break of dawn.

2021 is being a very prolific year for Spanish label Night Shift Records with all their releases reaching the top of the sales charts. After the success of the past references by the owner of the label Javi Frias and the San Diego superstar Never Dull, now it is the turn of Solazz, founding member of the Supa Disco project born five years ago in Ibiza, which debuts at the label with an amazing four track EP titled 'Highlife Disco'. Side A includes 'Work It Out', a great rework that includes a great bass line added to the original that makes it irresistible to dance, and 'Time's Running' a groovy summer vibe track that contains high-pitch voice side-walking with a top synth bass. On the B side, 'Roller Skate INC' strikes your body with conga rhythms and a funky bass, and last but not least 'Highlife Music', a killer track of afro-disco with piano house touches, evolving synths and great sax solo that will make you dance again!

Tavares were an American Disco-Soul-Funk band, with a great deal of songs that charted on Billboard, including their Disco hit “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel”, which topped the US Dance Chart in 1976, and a grammy award for their rendition of The Bee Gee’s “More Than A Woman” in 1978. Both tracks have been rerecorded for this special 12’ edition.

Four years and ten releases later we can say that Apparel Wax -the vinyl-faced hero- has been able to always renew itself and its sound because, as our manifesto says, we try not to submit to any genre. We wanted every release to be the outcome of a long research through uncommon sounds and APLWAX010, yet again, is an unidentified sonic object picked up by our radar. The last one though! We didn't plan it, we just felt like the time has come -eventually- to close this beautiful chapter. More than one factor led us to take this decision: the progressive concern about the planet (therefore the impossibility to keep producing plastic bags and gadgets), the desire to leave at our peak and to invent something new are just two of them. The constant process behind the renewal of our sound -which we embraced ten years ago with the birth of Apparel Music- sometimes passes through hard choices and we need to feel again that sensation of 'void' in order to create something fresh, different, as we did when we started Apparel Wax. We won't drag our masked hero to a point of sonic stagnation. We'd like to send you all a big greeting and a heartfelt thanks for every second of your time spent listening to Apparel Wax, it literally meant the world to us. What was initially just a bold idea became a musical reference point for many people around the world, and we will be forever grateful to y'all because, without you, it would have never been possible. Finally, a huge thanks to all the artists involved in the project. They contributed with their art to a bigger cause, the biggest: music. YOU are the true masked heroes, you are Apparel Wax. As for us, we'll live on and our sound too. Our ideas, our passion and dedication for the one and only thing that really makes us happy will never die. ANIMALS009 sees French producer Benoit B make first contact with Melbourne's Animals Dancing after releases on Into The Light, Berceuse Heroique, Unthank, Versatile and his own Banlieue.

On 'We Come In Peace', Crystalline FM synthesis meets tight drums across four PSY FI tracks that showcase the producer's shapeshifting style.

'Drums Symphony' layers undulating rhythms from crisp drums, Arps, FM Bells & SFX that ebb & flow, building to a driving dance floor trip. 'La Retraite Des Rockers' conjures Sakamoto & Vangelis in '82 with eratic perc, warped metallic sfx & ominous pads that find balance with a glowing synth lead & syncopated bass. The title track, 'We Come In Peace' is a balearic trance stomper where swirling 303, pitch bending leads & glistening synths cascade across a pulsing bassline. 'Dreelkrugz Conquest' is lysergic mid tempo electro with gated synths hovering above a growling baseline and flutters of heavily affected synthwork.

“Want Me” – 80’s funk vibed groover with a chunky drum bed, live bass and looping, filtering lead vocals.

“If You” – slinky funk re-edit vibes with soulful vocal snippets and a groove to swing ya hips and do ya dips!

Love Creation 004 keeps the bar high with 3 diverse Creations edited with love.

The A side keeps it chunky with a touch of acid on 'Land Of Hunger' and a slo-mo groover with a deft vocal touch with 'Luther's Jam'. 'Spacetalk' is given the whole of the B side for a more playable re-edit of this left of centre funk gem.

PHILLIP BALLOU Pittsburgh-born Phillip Ballou’s earliest years were spent in the gospel field; after he moved to New York City in the ‘70s, he teamed up with Bennie Diggs and Arthur Freeman, founding members of The New York Community Choir and singer Arnold McCuller to form the group Revelation. The quartet recorded for RSO Records, scoring some R&B success in the US with tracks like “Get Ready For This” and “You To Me Are Everything,” touring the Bee Gees among others. Phillip also sang on albums by NYCC recorded for RCA Records and continued with Revelation until 1982. Frequently hired for sessions in and around New York, Phillip teamed up with UK soul music journalist David Nathan (who he’d met in 1974 during Nathan’s first US visit) and John Simmons, formerly a member of The Reflections, another New York vocal group to write a series of songs for his own proposed solo record deal. Although a contract did not materialize, one of the songs – “Ain’t Nothing Like The Love” – got some interest from famed Philadelphia producer Thom Bell who presented it to The O’Jays. Ultimately, the tune was turned down by Kenny Gamble and John Simmons, by then musical director for Stephanie Mills, recorded his own version for a small independent label in 1981. Phillip continued his own musical journey, touring and recording with James Taylor and Todd Rundgren. In addition, Phillip’s name graced recordings by George Benson, Billy Ocean, Kashif, Nona Hendryx, Jonathan Butler, Teddy Pendergrass and Melba Moore; in 1981, he began recording with Luther Vandross and became a part of Luther’s touring band for many years, as well as singing on productions by Luther on Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick and others, continuing his association with him until Luther’s 2003 stroke. Phillip returned to his gospel roots in 2004 as Minister of Music at a Brooklyn church and passed away in March 2005, aged 55 .We are proud to bring you Phillips second single on Super Disco Edits, and perhaps his best! "We'll be together" is an uplifting song with an almost gospel tinged melody. But the songs lyrics portray a love thats just about to blossom.

Robin Lee returns under his Rudy's Midnight Machine guise delivering a sold dose of blissed out Mediterranean Jazz Funk circa 1981! Bringing in all the right sounds to take you away on a sun kissed cocktail dream. The opening track ''Dyane'' is full of light breezy keys cascading over a subtle rhythm track. ''La Rochelle'' is full of sunlight with great melodic hooks and light piano solos drift in and out,''Shy Smile'' takes the tempo down with a seductive breezy style.''Crytsal Dragonfly'' the title is more of a neo classical piece featuring a Korean lute and lush cello and string arrangemnets.Closing off with ''Pre De Minuit'' Robin starts off with the piano and adds dreamy rhythms as the track builds to close off the EP perfectly.

Completing a fantastic triptych of LPs for 2016, Will Saul's Aus Music is delighted to announce a debut full length from Youandewan. The Berlin based Brit's ten track 'There Is No Right Time' lands in October 2016 and shows a very real development of his deep house style. Youandewan is Ewan Smith, a DJ and producer who has quietly but consistently gone about fomenting his own tender brand of deep house. He has been doing so since 2009 and most recently settled on this label with tracks that are shy but seductive, and full of both motive and emotive forces. This album stays true to that narrative, but really sees the producer finding his feet with his most accomplished and elegant work to date. Much of the music was sketched out during a wintery Berlin three years ago. Having left London, hungover from a breakup, Smith found himself broke and secluded in an apartment for four months. All this lent the music he wrote a melancholic vibe, one that nods to the lonely nature of the job and to the darker side of constant partying and all that comes with it. A swelling, expansive piece of melodic atmospherics starts things off, then the soft hues of some analog chords bring a neon glow to the weightless whirl of 'Be Good To Me, Poly'. Soaring synths marry with a raw drum and bass combo on 'Waiting for L',
then 'Time To Leave (Can't Mix)' resets to a piano laced beatdown vibe that is willfully wallowing. '10405 (Alice)' is a
shimmering, crescendoing piece, and from there the second half of the album begins to take an upward and optimistic swing through the floating, graceful harmonies of 'Our Odyssey'.
'Something Keeps Me Real Quiet' is a concession to the floor with its rusted electro slither, 'Left On Lucy' calls upon friend Huerta for a flailing bit of hi-tek soulful house Derrick May would be proud of, and 'Earnest Kelly' nods to the '80s with its stomping retrosynthesis. Finally, '4D Anxiety' allows all pent up emotion and energy to dissipate via a playful hip-hop jam effortlessly tapped out on an MPC. Essentially, this is a listening album that proves deep house done needn't be reserved for the club. It is
vulnerable and musical, and stays with you long after it finishes playing.

Limited remastered edition of an all time italo classic gem from 1983. Today is one of the rarest italo releases in big demand by collectors, now reissued in the right form including both vocal and extended instrumental versions.

Japan's Dai San returns with his second EP on GAMM and this time he goes on a jazzy escapade with three cuts ranging from Disco-Jazz, Fusion-Funk and deep Rare Grooves.

The A side begins with Sundance, a peak time Jap-Fusion Disco jam sounding like if it was Azymuth's Jazz Carnival twin sister...a definitive dancer for the jazzier crews.
On the flipside, Dai San goes deeper with a fusion-funk edit and a spaced-out jazz-glide.

French electronic trio Jabberwocky are back with bangers. After 2 albums released on Polydor/Universal Music, 4 years of touring, and millions of views on streaming platforms and Youtube, the group of long time friends independently released a series of EPs with italodisco and 80's clubs high energy influences. The producers are now imposing their italo-disco shift by announcing a new album to come in June 2021. "Feeling Dancing Tempo" is saturated with powerful beats and analog sounds inspired by space music and guaranteed to make you dance.

Named after a Lewis Carroll poem and consisting of three friends in Camille Camara (piano conservatoire), Emmanuel Bretou (self-taught guitar and bass), and Simon Pasquer (sampling and MAO), there's a wonderfully organic sense of chemistry between each member. Best known for their hit single "Photomaton", Jabberwocky are now looking to evolve past their previous sounds into wholly new territory.

Equally inspired by sci-fi films, Italodisco, and Salvador Dali, there's multidimensional layers to Jabberwocky's music that reveals new details with every listen. They've also been influenced by the energy accrued from years of touring alongside a recent move to Paris that's engulfed them in the city's long-standing culture.

Kon steps back up to the plate with a sumptuous 12" offering, digging into his stash of disco, funk and boogie to bring us more heat!

'Alright' kicks things off, a huge anthemic soulful piano led disco stomper that will undoubtedly be a real highlight in your DJ set. This is some peak time feel good music for the dancefloor, London even gets a shout-out! 'Stars' is our B-side, and it's beamed right in from the cosmos into our eardrums, it has it all from cosmic synth melodies to ultra heavy drums and beyond! Get lost in space to this one, you won't regret it.

Both cuts here definitely bring it, and as always - they sound amazing. File under 'must cop'.

In true Kon fashion, these tracks have been respectfully remixed by Kon from source, and they won't stick around for long. Don't sleep!

While there is a wealth of young, fresh talent on the house music scene right now, few have cultivated such a polished sound as Mark Laird. Hailing from Ireland but already enjoying success on the international scene, Laird joins Shall Not Fade's Killer Cuts series for the diverse and invigorating Random EP.

First on the 5-tracker is "Bet", and it's an immediate onslaught of breaks and heavy kicks, a chunky melody that follows choppy vocals to create a cheeky bit of dancefloor action. "I Just Wanna" takes on a noughties fidget house style, cascading vocal samples that are somehow hypnotic.

On the B-side, Laird shows the breadth of his production abilities, moving away from the hard-hitting club beats for a moment on "4 Cruisin'" and instead crafting a pulsing, spaced out house track that feels like sunshine dazzling on some far-off beach. This blissful energy grows in the next track, "Woosh" - a euphoric warehouse rave-tinged number that showcases the best of classic piano house. Closing off the EP is the edgy, energetic "Ghetto Booty", with flavours of early American house sounds and a groove that is impossible not to move to.

Ray Mang brings his signature Disco heat to these two New York Jams! CHO AND RANDOM IMPETUS is a New York based multi piece band. Collaborating with local musicians and recording with analog equipment, CHO AND RANDOM IMPETUS utilizes jazz, funk, soul and disco melodies to create rich 1970s esque sounds. Gouranga - Be Happy!

A big move in a new direction to start a big, new-direction year, 2021!

The debut single from Saidera, a trio comprised of Alex Pasternak, formerly of Lemonade; Mike Cheever, a.k.a. Le Chev, previously of Avan Lava; and Brazilian samba school leader, Osvaldo "Vadinho" Luiz Freire de Araújo, on vocals and songwriting duties.

The two tracks here meet somewhere in the middle of where the three members come from: they're laden with electronics and tuned for the club, but they're also distinctly Latin, crackling with joyful Carnaval energy, and everything's sung in Portuguese.

Following this is a string of instrumentals and remixes, and, eventually, a second record we're keeping the lid on for now.
